Police in Buena Vista Township, Michigan, are searching for a woman accused of throwing a cup of hot coffee at a McDonald’s manager during a dispute over a refund earlier this week.

The incident, which was captured on video, occurred on November 4 and has since circulated widely online.

According to Click On Detroit and Fox 2 Detroit, the altercation began when the customer demanded a refund for two food items at the McDonald’s restaurant.

Video footage released by the Buena Vista Township Police shows the woman shouting at the store manager while accusing her of dishonesty.

“You’re a liar,” the woman said during the confrontation.

“Why are you lying?”

The manager, attempting to de-escalate the situation, responded by clarifying that the customer’s refund had already been processed.

“You’ve got your coffee,” the manager said.

“That’s all that you were charged for. Your refund will take up to 48 hours.”

Despite the explanation, the argument continued for several moments before the situation escalated.

In the footage, the customer can be seen throwing her cup of coffee at the manager while shouting profanities.

“F**k you, b*tch. Catch that hot-a** coffee!” she yelled as the liquid hit the manager.

Buena Vista Township Police confirmed that the manager sustained minor burns from the hot coffee. Detective Russ Pahssen told the Daily Mail that investigators were able to quickly identify the suspect after sharing the footage on social media.

“Before you know it, people were just reaching out to me,” Pahssen said, describing how tips from the public helped police determine the woman’s identity.

Police have since obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. Her name has not been released publicly.

As of Friday, officers were still attempting to locate her.

Authorities told The Daily Mail that they are seeking felony charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, also known as felonious assault.

However, they noted that prosecutors may reduce the charge to a misdemeanor, depending on the extent of the victim’s injuries.

The video of the incident, originally posted to Facebook, shows several customers standing nearby as the confrontation unfolded.

Police said the footage was recorded by another employee and shared online to assist in identifying the suspect.

The Buena Vista Township Police Department released a statement urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.

They also reminded the public that harassment or violence against restaurant employees will not be tolerated.

The McDonald’s restaurant involved in the altercation has not publicly commented on the case.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s USA told Fox 2 Detroit that the company is cooperating fully with local law enforcement during the investigation.

The attack comes amid a series of recent incidents across the country involving disputes between fast-food employees and customers.

Police said the suspect in this case could face significant legal consequences once apprehended, given the potential for injury from the hot liquid.

Laughton, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was charged in 2023 alongside former intimate partner Lindsay Groves, who previously worked at a Massachusetts daycare center.

Federal prosecutors said the pair were involved in the exchange of sexually explicit photographs of children that Groves produced while employed at the facility.

According to the Department of Justice, “a preliminary forensic review of Groves’ cellphone allegedly revealed over 10,000 text messages between Laughton and Groves that included discussion about, and transfer of, explicit photographs that Groves had taken of children while employed at Creative Minds daycare—including at least four sexually explicit images of children who appear to be approximately three to five years old, as well as explicit descriptions of sex with each other and others, including children.”

Groves admitted last month to taking the images and sending them to Laughton. He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of children and one count of distribution of child pornography.

Federal investigators said the communications between Laughton and Groves contained detailed exchanges about the photographs and that the pair discussed the content in explicit messages.

The DOJ said the charge of sexual exploitation of children carries a sentence of at least 15 years and up to 30 years in prison, followed by a minimum of five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge in accordance with the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and applicable statutes.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from local law enforcement agencies. Federal prosecutors in Boston are handling the case.

According to WMUR, the guilty plea was entered in U.S. District Court in Boston.

Officials said four photographs of children believed to be between the ages of three and five were sent to Laughton.

The images were identified as having been taken inside the daycare facility where Groves worked at the time.

Laughton was first elected to the New Hampshire House in 2012, becoming one of the first openly transgender legislators in the state.

He resigned before taking office after prior criminal convictions came to light.

Laughton was later reelected twice but resigned again following additional legal issues unrelated to the current case.

Young, the earlier victim, spoke out after hearing about Schroeder’s death. “The system failed that kid’s family,” she said in an interview with WTOC.

“If they would have did their job in my case or the other cases, because there’s other victims besides myself, then he wouldn’t have been on the streets to be able to hurt a child.”

Young recalled the moment Middleton attacked her. “I asked him did he need help finding his vehicle, and he shoved a cart over on top of me and just started stabbing me,” she said.

Schroeder’s father, also named JT, disputed reports that his son had initiated the altercation by kicking Middleton’s cart. “My son was never, ever confrontational unless he was confronted first,” he told WTOC.

Middleton is being held in custody and faces murder and aggravated assault charges. Authorities have not disclosed why he was released early despite his previous violent record.

Epstein, a financier charged with federal child sex-trafficking crimes, was arrested in July 2019 and housed in the MCC while awaiting trial.

Tartaglione, who was in custody at the same facility while awaiting trial on murder charges, later told investigators that Epstein had disclosed details of conversations he allegedly had with federal prosecutors.

According to documents obtained by the New York Post, Tartaglione claimed that prosecutors “told Epstein that if he said President Trump was involved with Epstein’s crimes he would walk free.”

The filing continued: “Epstein told me that [lead prosecutor] Maurene Comey said that he didn’t have to prove anything, as long as President Trump’s people could not disprove it. According to Maurene Comey, the FBI were ‘her people, not his [President Trump’s].’”

Tartaglione also wrote that Epstein maintained Trump was not involved in any of his criminal activity.

“President Trump was not involved in Epstein’s crimes,” the former police officer quoted Epstein as saying.

Epstein was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019, one month after his arrest. His death was ruled a suicide by the New York City medical examiner.

The Department of Justice and the FBI later concluded that Epstein had taken his own life and that no evidence existed of a so-called “client list” or blackmail operation involving high-profile individuals.

In July 2024, a DOJ memorandum summarizing the findings of the investigation was made public.

Days after the release of the report, Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey — daughter of former FBI Director James Comey — was removed from her position with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Tartaglione, 56, had been awaiting trial at the time of Epstein’s death. He was convicted in 2024 for the 2016 killings of four men in Chester, New York, related to a failed cocaine deal.

Prosecutors said Tartaglione, a former K9 officer in Westchester County, kidnapped and murdered the victims before burying their bodies on his property.

In his pardon request, Tartaglione alleged that his own prosecution was flawed and claimed that law enforcement investigators tampered with evidence to secure a conviction.

He also asserted that a former employee, Marcos Cruz, confessed to arranging the murders on behalf of a Mexican cartel but was persuaded by investigators to change his account.

Tartaglione’s petition, which includes his account of Epstein’s alleged statements about prosecutors, is now part of his broader request for clemency.

No additional evidence has been presented to verify his claims.

Epstein’s death continues to draw scrutiny and speculation more than five years later.

Multiple federal investigations into security lapses at the Manhattan detention center concluded that staff members failed to properly monitor Epstein’s cell the night he died.

Addressing voter trends, Higbie cited data showing overwhelming support for left-wing candidates among younger voters.

“68% of men under 30 voted for ma’am Danny. I don’t know where their testosterone went. With 84% of women under 30 also voting for him,” he said.

“They played the long game, 30 years.”

He went on to criticize the cultural and political influence of what he termed “liberal white women,” arguing that left-wing ideology has driven women to vote “on emotion and not policy.”

“This is why I hate liberal women,” Higbie said.

“This is why I say liberal white women are the biggest threat to America. They will literally vote for their own destruction and take everyone down with them.”

Higbie tied immigration policy to what he called a long-term Democratic strategy to alter voting demographics.

“83% of New Yorkers who have been here for less than five years voted for ma’am Danny. 76%… have been here less than 10 years. Only 34% of people born in and around New York City cast a ballot for the Ugandan socialist.”

He rejected calls to soften immigration enforcement, saying, “You shut up and leave the party. We do not need to let up on that unless you want another 83% of people voting for Democrats. Get them out.”

Higbie warned that “rhino Republicans” had helped Democrats secure victories by prioritizing image and civility over results.

“Do not let them come back up for air,” he said.

“Republicans got shellacked in my hometown last night. Seats that we have been held… for the last 100 years.”

Despite his frustration, Higbie said the political losses could present an opportunity.

“This presents us a very unique opportunity to absolutely crush these people in the next election, if, if Republicans can dislodge our own head from our rear end,” he said.

“You tie them to every single Democrat in these midterms… you need to fight this fight.”

He closed the segment by urging Americans to resist bringing failed liberal policies into conservative states.

“Do not come to red states and vote for the same stupid stuff that made you leave,” Higbie said.

“The Democrats have now set themselves on a collision course in their own tent,” he said.

“If you look at Spanberger in Virginia and Sherrill in New Jersey, they tried to run as moderate pragmatists; that’s how they self-described. But they will be no match for the coming communist wave taking over their party right now.”
