Senator Kennedy Hilariously Rips Chuck Schumer: ‘Stupid Should Hurt More’

Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana said Friday that he prayed for patience after hearing Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s latest proposal to end the ongoing government shutdown, now in its 37th day.

During an appearance on Fox News’ “The Story” with Martha MacCallum, Kennedy criticized Schumer’s plan as “the dumbest thing possible that won’t work,” rejecting the Democratic leader’s push to extend certain Obamacare subsidies enacted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Schumer, speaking earlier Friday on the Senate floor, said Democrats would agree to reopen the government if Republicans supported a one-year extension of the enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits.

The measure, passed temporarily during the pandemic, provided expanded subsidies for individuals purchasing health insurance through the ACA exchanges.

Republicans have resisted making the temporary expansion permanent, arguing that it drives up federal spending and benefits insurance companies more than patients.

“God, please give me patience, because if, if you give me strength, I’m going to need bail money,” Kennedy told MacCallum, drawing laughter from the host.

“What Sen. Schumer is suggesting is that we do the dumbest thing possible that won’t work. Stupid should hurt more.”

Kennedy argued that extending the subsidies would come at a high cost to taxpayers without lowering premiums.

“Sen. Schumer says we should just extend the status quo for a year. What does that mean? That means that we would have to take $35 billion of taxpayer money and give it directly to the health insurance companies without any commitment of lowering premiums,” he said.

“How is that going to reduce health care costs? How’s that going to reduce premiums?”

“The health care companies are going to take $35 billion from the taxpayers and put it into their pockets,” Kennedy continued.

“I mean, duh! I don’t know what Sen. Schumer is thinking. Earth to Chuck, I mean, Earth to Chuck. Am I going to vote for this? The short answer is no. The long answer is hell, no.”

The Louisiana senator said the shutdown is likely to continue because Democrats have repeatedly blocked Republican efforts to reopen the government.

“I think we’re just going to have to get used to the fact that we’ve been in a shutdown, we’re going to be in a shutdown for a while,” Kennedy said.

“I voted 14 times to lift the shutdown. The Democrats and Sen. Rand Paul have voted 14 times to keep the government shutdown. We’re just going to be here for a while.”

Senate Majority Leader John Thune echoed Kennedy’s frustration, calling Schumer’s proposal unserious.

“They’re feeling the heat, and they know that their last proposal was unserious and unrealistic, so I guess you can characterize that as progress,” Thune told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“But I just don’t think that it gets anywhere close to what we need to do here, and they know it.”

Schumer, however, said Democrats are prepared to move quickly if Republicans agree to the extension.

“Democrats are ready to clear the way to quickly pass a government funding bill that includes health care affordability,” Schumer said in his floor speech.

“Leader Thune just needs to add a clean one-year extension of the ACA tax credits to the CR so that we can immediately address rising health care costs.”

The Democratic leader has maintained that Republicans are to blame for prolonging the shutdown.

In an interview with Punchbowl News on October 9, Schumer said, “Every day gets better for us,” as the impasse continued.

Senate Democrats have blocked the continuing resolution 14 times so far, with another vote scheduled for Friday.

The standoff marks one of the longest shutdowns in recent history, with both parties showing little sign of compromise.

Republicans have continued to push for spending cuts and policy reforms in exchange for reopening the government, while Democrats insist on keeping the enhanced subsidies and other pandemic-era measures in place for at least another year.

UPS and FedEx Ground MD-11 Fleets After Fatal Louisville Crash Kills 14

UPS and FedEx announced Friday they are grounding all McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft in their fleets following a fatal crash earlier this week at UPS Worldport, the company’s global air hub in Louisville, Kentucky.

The decision comes “out of an abundance of caution,” both carriers said, citing a recommendation from the aircraft manufacturer.

The crash occurred Tuesday evening and claimed 14 lives, including three pilots aboard the MD-11 bound for Honolulu.

According to UPS, the aircraft was nearly airborne when an alarm bell sounded in the cockpit.

For the next 25 seconds, the crew struggled to control the plane as it lifted briefly off the runway before crashing and erupting in flames.

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) member Todd Inman said the left wing was on fire and missing an engine before impact.

UPS said in a statement Friday night that the grounding was a proactive measure based on advice from the manufacturer.

“We made this decision proactively at the recommendation of the aircraft manufacturer,” the company said.

“Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our employees and the communities we serve.”

FedEx, which operates a smaller MD-11 fleet, confirmed it would follow the same course.

“We are grounding the aircraft while conducting a thorough safety review based on the recommendation of the manufacturer,” the company said in an email.

MD-11 aircraft represent about 9% of the UPS fleet and roughly 4% of FedEx’s aircraft, both companies said.

Western Global Airlines is the only other U.S. cargo carrier operating the MD-11, with 16 in its fleet.

Aviation analytics firm Cirium reported that 12 of Western Global’s MD-11s are already in storage.

The MD-11 was designed by McDonnell Douglas before the company’s 1997 merger with Boeing.

Production of the widebody jet ended in 2000, and the model has since been phased out of passenger service.

Boeing has not publicly commented on the rationale behind the manufacturer’s recommendation to temporarily ground the planes.

Inman said investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder and were analyzing data from it.

The alarm bell was recorded approximately 37 seconds after the pilots called for takeoff thrust.

“There are different types of alarms with varying meanings,” Inman said, noting that the NTSB has not yet determined the exact cause.

“We do know that the left wing was burning and that the engine on that side had detached.”

A full transcript of the cockpit recording will not be released for several months, pending completion of the investigation.

Former federal crash investigator Jeff Guzzetti told the Associated Press that the bell likely indicated an engine fire warning.

“It occurred at a point in the takeoff where they were likely past their decision speed to abort the takeoff,” Guzzetti said.

“They were likely past their critical decision speed to remain on the runway and stop safely. They’ll need to thoroughly investigate the options the crew may or may not have had.”

Video footage from multiple angles captured the plane crashing into nearby businesses and exploding into a large fireball.

Investigators are reviewing images from phones, vehicle dashcams, and surveillance cameras to reconstruct the sequence of events.

Flight data shows the UPS MD-11 had recently undergone maintenance in San Antonio, Texas, where it was grounded for more than a month until mid-October.

Officials have not yet detailed what work was performed during that time.

UPS’s Worldport facility, which serves as the company’s primary logistics and air operations hub, employs more than 20,000 people and handles about 300 flights daily.

The hub sorts approximately 400,000 packages per hour during peak operations. Despite the crash, UPS said operations resumed late Wednesday with the company’s Next Day Air processing, also known as the “night sort.”

The NTSB, Federal Aviation Administration, and Boeing are all participating in the investigation.

Officials said it could take several months to determine the exact cause of the crash and whether a mechanical failure, maintenance issue, or other factor contributed.

Elise Stefanik Launches 2026 Gubernatorial Campaign, Blasts ‘Toxic’ Hochul for ‘Bending the Knee’ to Socialist Mamdani

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) formally launched her campaign for New York governor on Friday, vowing to challenge Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul in 2026 while accusing the governor of failing New Yorkers and aligning with socialist leaders in her own party, as reported by The New York Post.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” Stefanik sharply criticized Hochul for supporting New York City’s Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, a self-described socialist, ahead of his recent election win.

“When New Yorkers were looking for strong leadership from a governor not to bend the knee to Zohran Mandami, Kathy Hochul bent the knee,” Stefanik said. “Why did she do that? Because she is hemorrhaging support, even in her own party.”

Stefanik described Hochul as a “toxic governor” and cited her record as one that has “delivered the highest taxes in the nation,” harmed small businesses, and “turned her back on law enforcement.”

She said, “New York is in catastrophe because of Kathy Hochul’s leadership.”

The upstate congresswoman officially declared her candidacy earlier Friday, telling supporters that New York has ‘fallen’ under Hochul’s leadership.

Stefanik, a strong ally of President Donald Trump, framed her campaign as a fight to restore prosperity and safety to the state.

“She is an accidental governor,” Stefanik said, referencing Hochul’s rise to the office following the resignation of Andrew Cuomo.

“I have a record of flipping a district that was previously held by a Democrat. I’ve won every primary and general election, and we’ve overperformed — winning not just Republicans but independents and a fair share of Democrats as well — because my record has been delivering results for families, for small businesses, for our veterans, for our farmers.”

Her campaign launch drew immediate praise from state Republican leaders. New York GOP Chair Ed Cox called Stefanik “a unifier and party builder with the brains, the guts and the resources to win.”

He added, “She is the warrior we need to lead the fight against Democrats’ corrupt Albany machine.”

Cox blamed Hochul’s administration for driving residents out of the state. “Thanks to Kathy Hochul and Democrats, New York leads the nation in outmigration as the most taxed, least free, least affordable state in America,” he said.

“There will not be a Republican primary, and a year from now, Elise will lead our team to victory over Kathy Hochul, end one-party Democrat rule, and make New York affordable again.”

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul speaks during the first day of the Democratic National Convention at the United Center.

New York Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt, joined by 11 GOP state senators, also endorsed Stefanik. “Elise Stefanik is the fighter New York needs,” Ortt said.

“She’s tough, smart, and unafraid to take on the radical left. Elise will make our state affordable again, bring good-paying jobs back to our state, crack down on crime, and stand up for hardworking New Yorkers who’ve been ignored for far too long.”

Hochul’s campaign responded by attacking Stefanik as “Donald Trump’s number one cheerleader.”

Hochul campaign communications director Sarafina Chitika said in a statement, “Sellout Stefanik is Donald Trump’s number one cheerleader in Congress and his right-hand woman in his war on New York: gutting health care, jacking up costs with expensive tariffs, and cutting funding for our police, schools, and hospitals.”

“While Stefanik puts Trump first and New York last, Governor Hochul is lowering costs, cutting middle-class taxes, and fighting for the New Yorkers Stefanik abandoned,” Chitika added.

The early clash between Stefanik and Hochul signals what is expected to be one of the most closely watched gubernatorial races in the country heading into 2026.

Jay Jones Taps Ralph Northam to Co-Lead Transition Team Despite Blackface, Abortion Scandals

Virginia Attorney General-elect Jay Jones announced his transition team on Thursday, naming former Democratic Governor Ralph Northam—whose tenure was marked by a blackface controversy and outrage over abortion comments—to help lead the group, as reported by Fox News.

Northam, a former pediatrician from Onancock, Virginia, served as governor from 2018 to 2022.

His time in office drew national attention in 2019 when Big League Politics, a right-leaning outlet, published a photo from the 1984 Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook showing a person in blackface and another dressed in a Ku Klux Klan hood on a page identified as Northam’s.

The image prompted bipartisan calls for his resignation.

Jones, a Democrat who defeated Republican candidate Chuck Smith in November’s election, made the announcement late Thursday. His campaign described Northam as one of several “distinguished and experienced leaders” who will advise him as he prepares to take office.

Other members of the transition team include former First Lady Pamela Northam, former Virginia Deputy Attorney General Cynthia Hudson, and former Obama-era U.S. Attorney Timothy Heaphy, who also served as chief investigative counsel for the House January 6 Select Committee.

The list also includes two Democrat law enforcement officials — the Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney and Newport News Sheriff Gabe Morgan.

In a statement, Jones’ campaign said, “They share a commitment to public safety, public service, and the well-being of all Virginians. The transition team will work with Attorney General-Elect Jones as he prepares to take office so he can keep our communities safe, protect Virginia jobs, and defend our fundamental rights.”

Northam faced widespread backlash in 2019 over the yearbook photo. He initially apologized, saying, “The decision I made to appear as I did in this photo is not in keeping with who I am today and the values I have fought for throughout my career in the military, in medicine, and in public service.”

Days later, Northam backtracked, saying he no longer believed he was in the photo but admitted he once darkened his face to impersonate Michael Jackson for a costume contest.

During a press conference, he explained, “The reason I used a very little bit is because I don’t know if anybody’s ever tried that — but you cannot get shoe polish off.”

Northam nearly began performing Jackson’s “Moonwalk” before being stopped by his wife, Pamela Northam.

The former governor also drew national condemnation for comments he made about late-term abortions during a WTOP radio interview in which he described a scenario in which a baby could be “kept comfortable” after birth while physicians and parents “discussed” options.

Then-President Donald Trump responded by accusing Northam and other Democrats of endorsing “killing babies after birth” and “executing the baby.”

Northam completed his term in 2022, succeeded by Republican Glenn Youngkin. Jones’ decision to appoint him as co-chair has reignited debate over the Democratic Party’s handling of past scandals and its continued reliance on figures tied to controversy.

National Kart Champion Killed in Targeted Home Invasion in North Carolina

A North Carolina national kart racing champion was fatally shot in front of his fiancée during what police described as a “targeted” home invasion that ended in his death and the arrest of two career criminals, as reported by The New York Post.

Tyler Weaver, 25, was found dead on the floor of his home in Forest City on October 24 after police responded to reports of a break-in just before 10 a.m., according to local authorities. Weaver’s fiancée, Nevaeh Quintero, managed to escape and call for help after two armed suspects allegedly entered the home and opened fire.

Weaver, a two-time Maxxis Kart Racing National Champion in 2018, was shot multiple times. His death was ruled a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

Forest City Police Chief Chris LeRoy told WLOS that the home invasion was a “targeted” act and appeared to be a “robbery gone bad.”

The two suspects, identified as Quitez Watkins, 35, and Jaquavious Craig, 26, fled the scene and remained at large for several days before authorities tracked them down.

Arrest warrants were issued three days after the murder, and both men were captured on October 28. Watkins was arrested by the Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, while Craig later surrendered to Rutherford County police.

Both suspects have been charged with first-degree murder and are being held at the Rutherford County Detention Center without bond.

According to court documents, Watkins has an extensive criminal record, including charges for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to cause serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon, methamphetamine trafficking, and possession of cocaine, heroin, and opium.

Craig’s criminal history includes assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony breaking and entering, and assault on a female. Some of Craig’s prior cases were dismissed in Cleveland County due to insufficient evidence.

Weaver, who also worked as an electrical tradesman, was widely remembered by friends, family, and the racing community.

His sister, Taylor Weaver, posted on Facebook, “Losing my brother has been the hardest thing we’ve ever gone through. He was such a kind, beautiful soul with the biggest heart, and he was taken from us far too soon.”

His mother, Amanda Rogers, also shared a statement reflecting on her grief, saying, “My child didn’t deserve this. He had a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand, regardless of one’s background. His kindness knew no bounds. I’m struggling to find the strength to get through this. I’m humbly asking for prayers.”

Maxxis Kart Racing North America issued a statement honoring Weaver and his late father, Danny Weaver, who died in September 2021.

“Tyler and his late father, Danny Weaver, were an inseparable team — their love for racing and the pride they carried in that championship defined what this sport is all about. Tyler was one of the most proud champions we’ve ever had, and his legacy will always be part of the Maxxis family. Once a champion, always a champion.”

Authorities said the investigation remains active as police continue gathering evidence on the events leading up to the shooting.

Federal Investigation Targets DC Mayor’s $61K Qatar Trip, Ethics Records Missing

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is under federal investigation for a 2023 trip to Qatar that was paid for by the foreign government, according to The New York Times, which cited multiple anonymous sources familiar with the probe.

The investigation centers on whether Bowser violated campaign finance or bribery laws by accepting the trip, which reportedly cost more than $61,000.

Bowser and four senior staff members traveled to Doha, Qatar, in late 2023 for the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The trip, according to documents cited in a local news report, was financed entirely by the Qatari government.

“This was a business trip,” Bowser’s office told The New York Times.

“D.C. representatives regularly travel to promote Washington as a destination for investment and growth. All proper paperwork for this standard donation is on file.”

However, Washington, D.C. law prohibits public officials from accepting certain types of gifts, broadly defined as any “gratuity, favor, discount, entertainment, [or] hospitality.”

The law further requires that “each entity of the District of Columbia government shall keep accurate and detailed records of the acceptance and use of any gift or donation … and shall make such records available for audit and public inspection.”

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed a formal ethics complaint in June, raising questions about the source of funding for the trip and other travel by Bowser and her staff.

FACT’s complaint stated that Bowser’s office could not produce records for several other trips, including visits to the Masters Golf Tournament in Georgia, Las Vegas, Mar-a-Lago, Dubai, and Doha.

The ethics complaint also pointed to a $3,500 receipt submitted by Bowser’s Chief of Staff for a three-night taxpayer-funded stay at the Atlantis-Palm Hotel in Dubai during the same trip.

FACT said that despite Bowser’s office claiming the trip was properly documented, there were no records showing who officially paid for the travel or whether the expenses were approved under D.C. ethics rules.

According to The New York Times, Qatar covered at least $61,900 in expenses for the trip, but the available documentation does not clarify how those payments were processed or whether any third-party organizations were involved.

Bowser has been under investigation for several months.

The Times report indicated that the case may face complications because the lead FBI agent assigned to the investigation was later dismissed from the Bureau for actions related to an inquiry into the 2020 election.

The nature of that agent’s removal could affect the investigation’s continuity.

Bowser, who has served as mayor since 2015, was re-elected to a third term on November 8, 2022, becoming only the second person in city history to win three consecutive terms as mayor.

Her tenure has included efforts to promote economic development and infrastructure investment in the District, though her administration has faced recurring questions about transparency and ethics compliance.

As of now, no formal charges have been filed.

Bowser recently drew attention for publicly celebrating former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s retirement announcement on social media, praising Pelosi’s “trailblazing leadership.”

The investigation into Bowser’s foreign-funded travel remains ongoing as federal authorities continue reviewing financial records, expense filings, and communications tied to the 2023 Qatar trip.

Cuban-Born Rep. Sounds Alarm: ‘I Know a Marxist When I See One, Mamdani Is One’

U.S. Rep. Carlos Giménez (R-FL), whose family fled communist Cuba, issued a strong warning Thursday about the election of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, calling the self-described democratic socialist a “Marxist” during a press conference with House leadership.

“I’m the only Cuban-born member of Congress. That means I was born in Cuba. I was not born here in the United States. I didn’t speak a word of English until I got here. I was seven years old. And the reason I’m here is that my parents brought me here seeking freedom, freedom from communism, freedom from a Marxist regime,” Giménez said.

“And so I can tell you that I know a communist and a Marxist when I see one. They may call themselves a socialist. They may call themselves a democratic socialist. But, you know, make no mistake; Mamdani in New York, he’s a Marxist,” he added.

Giménez, born January 25, 1954, in Havana, Cuba, experienced the aftermath of the 1959 communist revolution firsthand. His family fled the island in 1960 after Fidel Castro’s regime began seizing private property, nationalizing industries, and cracking down on political opposition.

The congressman has often spoken about how his family’s escape from Cuba shaped his political views and commitment to preserving freedom in the United States.

Addressing Mamdani directly, Giménez said the New York City mayor-elect’s rhetoric mirrors that of Marxist leaders who came to power under the guise of populism.

“I understand you can be proud of that. But then, you know, if you’re so proud, don’t call yourself a democratic socialist. You are a Marxist, go ahead. Tell people exactly who you are. He couldn’t and he can’t because he knew he wouldn’t get elected,” Giménez said.

The congressman warned that New Yorkers could face consequences similar to those experienced by Cubans under Castro.

“But I hope that the people of New York do not suffer the same consequences that my homeland of Cuba has suffered. Castro and the Castro regime destroyed my homeland. They can’t even keep the lights on. They don’t have food, they don’t have medicine, they can’t keep the lights on,” he said.

“It’s a total disaster of an island, a beautiful island that actually had the second highest standard of living in the Western Hemisphere when the regime took over,” Giménez continued.

“And so one of the reasons I’m in Congress, the primary reason I’m in Congress, is that I want to make sure that my children and grandchildren never suffer the same fate that my parents did, having to leave their country and bring us to a new country with about $10 in their pocket.”

Mamdani, a 32-year-old New York state assemblyman, has previously expressed support for explicitly communist causes and leaders abroad.

In a December 2020 post on social media, Mamdani reposted a tweet from an official Communist Party account celebrating the election of Comrade Arya Rajendran, a 21-year-old mayoral candidate in India.

“Comrade Arya Rajendran, age 21 new Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She will be the youngest mayor of a major city in the world. Here she leads a detachment of Red Volunteers,” the original post read.

Mamdani added his own endorsement, writing, “Them: what kind of mayor does NYC need right now?” before reposting the message.

During his political career, Mamdani has also promoted several policies associated with socialist and communist economic systems, including rent freezes, government-run grocery stores, and proposals to limit or eliminate private property ownership within city housing initiatives.

Giménez’s remarks come as members of Congress and business leaders express concern about the direction of New York City’s leadership following Mamdani’s election.

The congressman emphasized that his warning is rooted in personal experience, not politics.

“I know what communism looks like,” Giménez said.

“I lived through it. And I know how fast it can destroy a country.”

Democrat Jasmine Crockett Calls President Trump the ‘Grim Reaper’ on CNN

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) referred to President Donald Trump as the “grim reaper” during an interview Thursday night on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live,” while criticizing the administration’s handling of food assistance funding, as reported by Breitbart.

The comments came after host Laura Coates discussed a federal judge’s ruling ordering the administration to fully fund SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. Earlier in the week, the administration had announced that only partial payments would be made to SNAP recipients while negotiations over a funding bill continued.

Danville – June 2, 2023: SNAP and EBT Accepted here sign. SNAP and Food Stamps provide nutrition benefits to supplement disadvantaged families.

“The judge today ordered the administration to fully fund SNAP benefits,” Coates said.

“They were told earlier that it would be a partial payment, which helps, not the 40 million people who need everything about it. The vice president, though, Vice President JD Vance, called it an absurd ruling. They are vowing to appeal.”

Coates then asked Crockett for her response, noting that the Texas Democrat appeared visibly frustrated by the discussion.

Crockett replied, “I’m not surprised. You know, it honestly breaks my heart. Like, I don’t really care how people feel about me as an individual. I’ll be real with you. I signed up to do this work because I care.”

She continued by criticizing Republican lawmakers, claiming Democrats are fighting harder for low-income Americans than Republicans are.

“We know when it comes to health care, whether we’re talking about SNAP benefits, we know that we are fighting so much harder for the people that elected Republicans to represent them than the Republicans that were elected to represent them,” she said.

Crockett also referenced the November 4 election results, calling them “amazing” for Democrats but warning her party against becoming complacent.

“I just want people to remember this, because it seems like there was a bit of amnesia by the time we got to this last presidential election, and right now we saw amazing results on November 4 but it doesn’t stop there. It can’t stop there,” she said.

She concluded her remarks with a direct attack on President Trump and his administration. “As soon as you relax and believe that everything is all good, I am here to tell you that the grim reaper is lurking,” Crockett said.

“Sadly enough, the grim reaper is the president and his minions at this point.”

The comments drew attention across social media, as Crockett’s comparison of the president to a symbol of death came amid ongoing disputes over budget negotiations and the federal government shutdown, which has affected food assistance and other programs.

The Justice Department has confirmed it will appeal the court’s ruling on SNAP payments, while the administration maintains that it is working to restore funding through new legislation.

Hollywood Wife Manhandles Car Intruder, Tosses Him Like Ragdoll as Husband Watches

Surveillance footage from a Hollywood gas station captured the moment a woman pulled a male intruder out of her car and threw him to the ground while her husband stood nearby in disbelief, as reported by The Blaze.

The incident took place Tuesday evening, when Star Carter was sitting in the driver’s seat of her red Alfa Romeo at a gas station while her husband, Michael Carter, was on the other side of the vehicle pumping gas.

According to KCBS-TV, a male suspect approached the passenger side of the car and attempted to open the door.

“I stood up and was like, ‘Get outta here!’ and then I walked around this way,” Michael told the outlet, demonstrating how he moved toward the passenger side to confront the man.

As the couple believed the situation had de-escalated, the suspect circled back around the car, opened the rear driver-side door, and climbed into the back seat.

“I’m wrestling with him inside the car,” Michael said. “I’m kinda pushing him and pushing him, and all I know is he just disappeared.”

That’s when Star, who had exited the car, took control of the situation. Video footage shows her ripping the intruder out of the vehicle and throwing him onto the pavement in one swift motion.

“I don’t condone violence, but I do condone self-defense,” Star told KCBS, explaining her instinctive reaction.

Star said she wasn’t thinking of anything specific in the moment except for a verse from a Kendrick Lamar song.

“It was just like that Kendrick Lamar verse [from ‘Peekaboo’] was playing in my head, you know like:

‘Bing bop boom bop boom bop bam!’”

Laughing, she added, “That’s all I remember. I’m so embarrassed.”

After being thrown to the ground, the intruder quickly got up and ran away. Before he fled, Star had some parting words for him: “I just said, ‘Don’t you ever do no stupid [word redacted] like this again!’”

The Carters continued their evening as planned, attending a comedy show at the Hollywood Improv later that night. Their daughter told KCBS she wasn’t surprised by her mother’s reaction.

“My mommy, she was in like fight or flight — but she definitely fought, and he definitely took flight,” she said.

Star told reporters she believed the suspect was under the influence of drugs during the incident. “I don’t know what this dude is capable of doing at all,” she said.

Her husband, still impressed, called his wife a hero. “She is indeed my hero,” Michael said with a laugh. “Thank you, Star!”

Police are still searching for the suspect. No injuries were reported.

Donald Trump Takes Another Swing at ‘Old and Broken Hack’ Nancy Pelosi

President Donald Trump continued his criticism of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Friday, responding to her announcement that she plans to retire from Congress when her current term ends in 2026, as reported by The Independent Journal Review.

Pelosi, 85, who has served in the House since 1987 and led Democrats for two decades, said she would not seek re-election after completing her 20th term.

Her decision marks the end of one of the longest political careers in modern U.S. history and closes a chapter defined by years of partisan battles with Trump.

On Truth Social, the president wrote:

“Nancy Pelosi, the old and broken political hack who impeached me twice and lost, is finally calling it ‘quits.’ She illegally made a fortune in the Stock Market, ripped off the American Public, and was a disaster for America. I’m glad to see the stench of Nancy Pelosi go!!!”

Pelosi and her husband, Paul Pelosi, have faced repeated scrutiny over their stock trading activity.

According to Bloomberg data cited by the New York Post, Paul Pelosi earned roughly 54% returns on his investments in 2024, outperforming most major hedge funds. Newsmax reported that Trump attributed her success to “inside information.”

In an August post, Trump had accused Pelosi and her husband of using privileged access to benefit financially.

“Crooked Nancy Pelosi, and her very ‘interesting’ husband, beat every Hedge Fund in 2024. In other words, these two very average ‘minds’ beat ALL of the Super Geniuses on Wall Street, thousands of them,” Trump wrote.

“It’s all INSIDE INFORMATION! Is anybody looking into this??? She is a disgusting degenerate, who impeached me twice, on NO GROUNDS, and LOST! How are you feeling now, Nancy???”

Pelosi, who served two stints as Speaker of the House — first from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023 — oversaw two impeachments of President Trump, both of which resulted in acquittals.

The rivalry between the two has been one of the most contentious in recent political history.

One of the most notable flashpoints occurred in 2020, when Pelosi tore up a copy of Trump’s State of the Union address in front of cameras moments after his speech concluded.

Speaking to reporters Thursday in the Oval Office, President Trump again addressed Pelosi’s departure.

“I think she’s an evil woman. I’m glad she’s retiring. I think she did the country a great service by retiring,” Trump said. “I think she was a tremendous liability for the country.”

Pelosi has not publicly responded to Trump’s remarks. Her announcement comes as several senior Democratic lawmakers prepare to step aside ahead of the next election cycle.
