The Woke Reason Why There’s No “Scenic Route” Option On Google Maps

It’s official: Google Maps is now woke.

Quite how that’s possible at first glance may be a mystery. After all, the app is generally used to get you from A to B, rather than through D, E and I.

For those of us who like to travel with a little bit of time on our hands, we may want to reach our destination via a scenic route.

However, the highly requested and much-wanted feature is unlikely to be available anytime soon thanks to diversity, equality and inclusion.

Social media user @kaseyklimes, who formerly worked on Google Maps, revealed the reasoning behind the lack of a “scenic route” option on the app in a thread on X over the weekend, revealing that DEI gibberish is responsible.

“Inadvertently diverting foot traffic from low-income streets to high-income streets takes revenue and potentially tax dollars from already struggling communities and funnels it instead to richer communities,” he wrote on the platform. In other words, he’s upset that people may spend money in nicer areas if a “scenic route” option was available on the app.

Despite his desire for a scenic route option, Klimes added that the global reach of Google Maps would add a “bias” across the system compared to the current model where each street has “an equal chance” at being used to direct foot traffic.

In response to the revelations, fellow social media users were quick to vent their frustrations, with some moving towards other navigational systems such as Apple Maps instead.

Others also raised concerns over the impact on people who are directed through areas with high crime rates.

Can You Spot The Problem With This Video?

The rainbow flags have caused a stir throughout pride month, but it seems it’s not just America’s most Woke cities which are taking part.

Rainbow roads – once reserved for Mario Kart games – are now across the country, and the responses to their critics have been controversial to say the least. So far this month, a manhunt was launched in St Petersburg, FL, after a driver performed donuts on the city’s rainbow mural, while three teenagers in Washington were arrested for a similar protest against the pride flag.

The city of Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada, has also joined the rainbowification with the city’s X account sharing footage of a road being redecorated. However, you may notice a problem…

Yup, that’s right! The city worker – donning the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on his helmet – had no paint on the roller.

The latest attempt to virtue signal undoubtedly was met with stark criticism, forcing the city into turning off replies and “hiding”’” those who had already commented, including one who paid tribute to the aforementioned protests.

Others noted the division the symbols caused, while questioning whether it was an essential use of taxpayer funds.

They are poignant points which carry over to the United States too. Not everyone agrees with the idea of pride month, even if they are happy to accept others for who they are.

Perhaps the Fredericton video highlights the problem: such murals are nothing more than the performance known as virtue signaling, and that’s what frustrates people most.

“Homophobic” Road Signs Removed From Los Angeles Neighborhood

Woke extremists are celebrating after “homophobic” street signs were removed from a Los Angeles neighborhood.

And by “homophobic street signs,” I mean “street signs.”

The signs in Silver Lake were apparently put up in the 1990s to prevent gay men from hanging around a residential area following complaints from residents. They included “No Cruising” and “No U-Turns” signs which would somehow prevent homosexuals from hooking up.

Some of the “No Cruising” signs were removed in 2011, according to NBC Los Angeles. However, after Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman heard about the signs on a podcast, she collaborated with fellow Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez to remove the remainder in a “bureaucratic process” which is reported to have taken months.

“Here in Silver Lake, cruising, of course, meant something very different. It meant an opportunity for the LGBT community to try to find human connection and intimacy and to be able to express themselves in a society at the time that was not very welcoming to the LGBT community,” Soto-Martinez said.

Another Silver Lake councilmember, who goes by the name “Maebe A. Girl”, expressed surprise that the signs had not been removed despite “the history of it”.

This major step towards greater tolerance and respect for one another (just kidding) sparked widespread ridicule from users on the social media platform X.

It’s unclear how lifting a ban on U-turns will improve the lives of the local gay community, but campaigners can finally relax now that Los Angeles is a safer place.

Some also raised the question as to what would happen if the change in traffic regulations caused more accidents in the area.

Which traffic signs, if any, do you believe infringe on your civil liberties? Let us know in the comments below.

Are You Now “Far-Right” If You’re a Conservative?

If a week is a long time in politics, then a decade feels like a lifetime.

Sometimes, it’s hard to remember where we were ten years ago. Granted, some things remain ever the same – Russia’s waging a war in Ukraine, and populist parties are taking over across Europe.

Yet, in the U.S., it seems incomparable to where we are now. In 2014, Donald Trump hadn’t even announced his first presidential campaign, and the differences between left and right seemed miniscule compared to today’s divided society.

A post on the social media platform X made light of the deepening divisions across the American political system. It featured a stick figure who was once center left finding himself aligned with conservative values.

Why? Well, the post implied that the left had moved from classic liberalism to downright “woke progressives”, thus shifting the center of the spectrum to the left as a result.

Anecdotally it seems like it’s undeniable that what the meme above is describing is in fact reality – and that’s empirically the case too.

The Economist measured the ideology of Democrat and Republican congressional candidates since 1980 —and while the ideology of the average Republican elected has moved slightly to the right, the ideology of the average Democrat elected has gone at least five times as far to the left.

The Pew Research Center published a study in October 2017 tracking the growing ideological divide in America since the 1990s. And the main finding? That while Republicans have moved a centimeter to the right, Democrats have moved a mile to the left. To dive into the other findings:

  • On several key issues, except for environmental regulations, Democrats moved further to the left than Republicans moved to the right. In most cases, Republicans’ views remained relatively unchanged over the past two decades.
  • Nearly half of Democrats in the 1990s expressed concern over poor people receiving welfare for nothing in return, compared to 18 percent by 2017.
  • Nearly six in ten Democrats in the 1990s agreed that government spending is almost always wasteful and inefficient.
  • Roughly half of Democrats in the 1990s agreed that government regulation of businesses usually does more harm than good.
  • On race issues, over half of Democrats in the 1990s agreed that “blacks who can’t get ahead in this country are mostly responsible for their own condition.” That remained constant until the second half of the Obama presidency, when it plummeted to 28 percent.

But it seems like most people have already taken notice that “far right” increasingly just means “normal a decade ago.”

This is particularly prudent when you consider the negative connotations associated with patriotism these days. Displaying the flag of the United States, chanting “U.S.A” or even just being proud of one’s country is seemingly met with hositility from those who prefer the flags and regimes of Palestine instead.

Granted, it would be unfair to say that ultra-conservatives have not shifted at all, but the difference in movement between them and those who were once considered liberals is quite simply astounding.

Kamala Harris Wants To Give First-Time Homeowners $25,000… But There’s A Catch

Vice President Kamala Harris wants to give first time homeowners $25,000 for a down payment plus $400 a month towards mortgage payments.

But there’s a catch.

Eligible candidates must be the first generation in their family to buy a home to secure the $25,000 grant. In addition, a “certain tranche of folks” will receive the $400 a month to help pay their mortgage costs.

The purpose of this all is pandering, of course. Harris’ pledge is catered towards Black Americans whose support she needs to help President Joe Biden secure the White House for another four years – a demographic that Democrats are increasingly desperate to hold on to. Even 15-20% of the Black vote going toward Trump would be catastrophic for them.

And it seems to have worked – at least to the audience she was directly pandering to, which applauded her racialnomics:

Immediately, there’s a problem. If you’re looking for somewhere which will be covered by the payments, then you must search hard for a property worth no more than $92,000.

Obviously that math assumes the person in question is unemployed, but even if a poor person was able to come up with another $400 a month to put towards the mortgage, the maximum home price they’d be able to afford is far below the national average.

Alas, it has raised questions over whether the policy actually promotes equality or favors one group over another – and what kind of loopholes may exist.

It does raise the question as to whether Harris’ is seeking to “buy” votes through wild, idealistic policies, rather than focusing on purposeful economic actions.

The Democrats have been ramping up their campaign to secure the Black vote after a disastrous four years in the approval ratings. Black voters make up large parts of swing states such as Pennsylvania, which the Biden-Harris administration needs to secure if it is to earn another four years in the White House.

Lastly, is any of this legal? Who knows – that certainly didn’t seem to matter for the Administration when it came to their unconstitutional student debt bailouts.

No Arrests At Pro-Hamas Protest Outside White House Despite Evidence Of Felonies

Supporters of the Hamas terrorist organization congregated outside the White House over the weekend – and since then not a single arrest was made despite evidence of felonies. This came fewer than two weeks since Joe Biden tweeted that “no one is above the law.”

In what was yet another demonstration outside the White House, Biden’s most recent visitors were seen to be vandalizing statues in Lafayette Park. Attempts to clear out the rioters by law enforcement resulted in a rush when officers tried to keep the peace, who chanted “F*** the police” as they charged forwards.

Yet not a single arrest was made, even though defacing a federal monument alone is a felony.

It marks a stark contrast with the responses to the defacing of pride flags seen across America over the past few weeks. In St. Petersburg, FL, a manhunt was launched after a driver performed donuts over a rainbow flag in the early hours of the morning. On the other side of the country, three teenagers were arrested after leaving tire marks across a similar mural in Washington state.

Julio Rosas shared footage of the riots on the social media platform X, with users quick to criticize the participants and their actions.

Another noted the difference in response to January 6, 2021, where supporters of Donald Trump were arrested by the hundreds.

Furthermore, a former worker in the neighboring area noted how previous protests had been dealt with more aggressively.

Nevertheless, even though no arrests were made, there were still some praise for law enforcement officers given the abuse thrown towards them by pro-Hamas attendees.
