It’s fair to say that business magnate Elon Musk is a divisive character.
His takeover of Twitter, later renamed X, has polarized opinion on the Tesla CEO – large in part due to his efforts to promote free speech on the platform.
Following a disastrous CNN debate for President Joe Biden, Musk said he was “leaning towards” Republican challenger and former president Donald Trump.
Naturally, devout leftists within the media have taken issue, with MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow launching into a rant on her daily show. A 42-second clip has landed particular attention, with Musk himself even responding.
In a segment (above) captioned “choose your fighter”, Maddow highlighted “extremist beliefs” of the wealthy who were “making a big show out of supporting Donald Trump”. Maddow used headlines portraying a Musk-MAGA alliance which she said evidenced “months of high-profile support” for the Republican candidate.
“[Musk] used to be thought of as a quirky, business billionaire – an eccentric, inventor-type,” Maddow said. “But now he’s basically this guy,” she continued as producers aired a picture of Capitol rioter Jacob Chansley, otherwise known as the “QAnon Shaman.”
Before the clip ends, Maddow also accused the billionaire of supporting Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and accused him of “destroying” Twitter.
Maddow’s allegations against Musk prompted a speedy response from the X CEO.
Many came to Musk’s support with heavy criticism of the MSNBC commentator.
Other commenters noted how Maddow’s skepticism typically ends with pro-Republican causes.

How do you know MadCow is lying – the bigger the lies and fabrications – the faster she talks. She not much different than a hawker at a carnival trying to get unwilling customers to buy her “special elixir” to cure anything. High speed lies are her forte.

The most outlandish Liars are at CNN. She claims Elon ruined X while it now has more users than before he bought it and more importantly is the best source of First Amendment protecting Free Speech. Tesla is not only the most successful EV car company in America but is now leading the sustainability industries with home energy storage and the leading technology in solar panels/ roofing tiles.
Well, Rachael Maddow is a rich man, gotta give him that.
