A confrontation at Washington, D.C.’s Union Station involving conservative activist Cam Higby went viral this week after video captured him pepper-spraying a woman who lunged at him and struck him with his MAGA hat.

Higby, who has been traveling the country on his “Fearless Tour” modeled after the late Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, said the incident reflected his goal of confronting political hostility while encouraging open debate.

Higby had hosted a debate event at the University of Maryland earlier on Wednesday before arriving at Union Station with colleagues.

In a phone interview with Fox News Digital, he described how the encounter escalated.

“At some point, she dropped to her knees, intentionally … and she started yelling at us and started touching us,” Higby said.

“I told her to back up and stop touching me, and she lunged at me and attacked me.”

Video footage shows the woman approaching Higby, pushing him back in his chair, taking his hat, and hitting him with it before falling into a bush.

Higby then pepper-sprayed her.

He said he could not be certain whether she was carrying a weapon because she kept her hands in her pockets for most of the encounter.

After being sprayed, the woman walked toward a light pole where other protesters assisted her and called police.

Higby said that when U.S. Park Police arrived, the situation escalated again.

“At this point now, she’s struggling with federal police, and then they tried to arrest her,” Higby recounted.

“Her dad is yelling at us, ‘why did you spray my daughter,’ as she’s actively fighting with federal police. In my head, I’m thinking, this is why she got sprayed. It took four federal police officers to hold her down, and finally they loaded her into the back of the police car.”

According to Higby, police reports listed him and a colleague as victims, and the woman is expected to face federal charges for resisting arrest and assaulting officers.

This was not the first time Higby has been targeted during public events.

On June 14 in Seattle, he was allegedly attacked at an anti-ICE rally by three men who attempted to rip off his equipment and physically assault him.

Higby said he pepper-sprayed one of the assailants in self-defense but suffered a concussion and other injuries that required medical treatment at urgent care and the emergency room.

“I’ve come to the point where I carry Mace on me at all times,” Higby said.

“I think I show incredible restraint with the points at which I use my Mace, because I personally think after four verbal warnings not to touch me, it would have been perfectly valid to use it. … The roles are reversed, and I’m overly criticized because it’s a woman, but I don’t know what she has on her, and I’m not going to throw a punch at her. I think that using Mace is way better [alternative].”

Higby and his team are known for setting up debate-style tables on college campuses, often with signage challenging students to engage in discussions.

Their events are modeled after Charlie Kirk’s approach, with slogans such as, “The left is violent! Let’s Debate!”

He said the Union Station incident unfolded differently, with no banners or displays present and the only identifiers being their MAGA hats.

“We want people fired up. We want people to be excited to talk about political issues, but what we don’t invite people to do is touch us, and that’s the problem,” Higby said.

“I think most of my takes are pretty reasonable. That’s your problem, not my problem—if you have such low impulse control that you can’t stop yourself from using physical violence.”

The Union Station incident adds to a series of confrontations Higby has experienced while hosting debates and public events across the country.

Federal authorities have not yet released further details on the charges against the woman involved in Thursday’s altercation.

“We’re really confronted by our after the fact, ‘Billy Badass’ prosecutor and our ‘woke, broke’ criminal justice system,” Snyder said on Wednesday.

He pointed directly to Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears for reducing the charge.

“That means this case, without even taking it’s first breath in the court system, has automatically been downgraded and reduced, cutting the possible sentencing range from an attempted murder at 20 to 40 years of imprisonment, all the way down to three years to 16 years,” Snyder said.

Court records show that many of Boose’s prior cases ended in dismissals or plea deals. The repeated pattern of arrests without prison time has raised questions among law enforcement leaders and community members about the effectiveness of local prosecution.

Snyder expressed frustration at what he described as a cycle of leniency that enables violent offenders to remain on the streets.

“What’s the number of times where somebody in a black robe says ‘you know what, I don’t think this guy is getting it,’” Snyder asked.

Indianapolis has experienced consistent violent crime levels, with Snyder pointing out that the city averages one homicide every 53 hours.

He added that the current homicide rate is approximately 10 percent higher than Chicago’s.

“The daily headlines show that mass shootings, mass murders, and mass carnage keep going up,” Snyder said.

“This shows the devaluing of the sanctity of life here in our capital city.”

Boose’s case comes as other high-profile crimes involving repeat offenders have drawn national attention.

In South Carolina, 22-year-old Logan Federico, an aspiring teacher, was killed during a home invasion by Alexander Dickey, who had been arrested 39 times, including 25 felony arrests.

In Charlotte, 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska was stabbed to death by Decarlos Brown Jr., who had 14 prior arrests.

Community leaders say the pattern of repeat arrests without meaningful consequences highlights deeper issues within the justice system.

Portland Police arrested conservative journalist Nick Sortor on Thursday evening while he was reporting outside the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility.

Video shared on social media showed officers detaining Sortor, though the reason for his arrest has not yet been released.

Eyewitnesses at the scene posted accounts on X. User C.K. Bouferrache, known online as Honeybadgermom, wrote, “Looked like @nicksortor got jumped. We are on the lower roof at ICE but difficult to tell exactly what happened at this distance. Portland liaison officers stand nearby and watch.”

In a follow-up post, she added, “I cannot believe they arrested this guy for defending himself. The woman that went after him has taken part in a few assaults this last week.”

X user Mark Wilson also posted video clips of the incident.

“Portland PD arrested @nicksortor tonight. Unclear why, as he wasn’t doing anything criminal. This comes after Portland police refused to arrest the lady who assaulted @KatieDaviscourt,” Wilson wrote.

Prior to the incident, Sortor had been posting updates from outside the ICE facility, where a group of demonstrators had gathered to show support for federal officers.

One of his posts read: “PATRIOTS have shown up outside the Portland ICE facility, holding up a sign saying ‘Thank you for your dedication & hard work!’ ‘We appreciate you!’ And of course, Antifa clowns are MELTING DOWN over it, yelling at them.”

In another update, Sortor described a confrontation involving a protester who entered federal property: “FAFO ALERT: A degenerate leftist just jumped onto federal property at the Portland ICE facility and CHALLENGED agents to ‘do something about it.’ And they DID — QUICKLY. Dude ended up on the pavement, arrested, and dragged into the facility. Beautiful.”

The arrest comes just days after another journalist, Katie Daviscourt of The Post Millennial and Human Events, was assaulted during demonstrations in Portland.

On Tuesday, Daviscourt was struck in the face with a flag pole by a female Antifa protester, resulting in a black eye.

Daviscourt later stated that police declined to pursue the suspect.

According to her account, officers told her it was too dangerous to attempt an arrest while Antifa protesters were in control of the area.

She appeared on Fox News the following evening and told host Jesse Watters that Portland Police Chief Bob Day should resign.

An immigration judge on Wednesday denied an asylum request from Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an MS-13 gang member and illegal alien whose case has drawn national attention after years of deportations, indictments, and legal challenges, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Abrego Garcia, who had been living illegally in Maryland, was deported earlier this year to El Salvador and placed in the country’s CECOT prison.

Despite his criminal background, left-leaning judges later ordered him returned to the United States after federal prosecutors in Tennessee indicted him on child sex-trafficking charges.

Following the indictment, the Trump administration informed Abrego Garcia that he might be deported to a third country, including Uganda or Eswatini, depending on international agreements.

In response, Abrego Garcia filed an emergency motion to reopen his asylum case, claiming he feared persecution and torture if deported.

“I fear persecution in Uganda on account of my race, nationality, political opinion, and membership in a particular social group. I also fear torture by or at the acquiescence of a public official in that country,” Abrego Garcia said in August, according to court filings.

On Wednesday, Regional Deputy Chief Immigration Judge Philip Taylor rejected the motion. He noted that Abrego Garcia’s asylum application was filed nearly six years after his immigration proceedings ended, far beyond the 90-day filing window required by law.

Judge Taylor also ruled that Abrego Garcia’s claims of imminent deportation to Uganda or Eswatini were speculative.

“The word ‘may’ is permissive and indicates to the Court that in sending this notification to Respondent’s counsel, the Department sought to convey that it reserved the right to remove him to Uganda, not necessarily that it intended to do so, that it had decided to do so, or that it would do so imminently,” Taylor wrote, according to ABC News.

Attorneys for Abrego Garcia argued that because he was deported to El Salvador and later returned to the United States under federal custody, he should be eligible to apply for asylum within one year of his most recent entry.

The court disagreed, stating that the motion was both untimely and unsupported by evidence.

The Department of Homeland Security has not indicated whether Abrego Garcia will be removed to El Salvador, Uganda, Eswatini, or another third country. For now, he remains in federal custody facing child sex-trafficking charges in Tennessee.

The case underscores the administration’s broader crackdown on transnational gangs and its ongoing use of third-country removals to deal with violent criminal aliens.

Bondi: Memphis Task Force Nets 93 arrests, 28 Illegal Guns Seized in Initial Sweep

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday that 93 people have been arrested in the opening days of the Memphis Safe Task Force operation, a new federal initiative aimed at reducing violent crime in the city, as reported by The Center Square.

The task force, which includes support from 13 federal agencies such as the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has also seized 28 illegal firearms since operations began.

“Yesterday 40 arrests were made including a Tren de Aragua terrorist, a felon in possession of a firearm, a man wanted for rape of a child, and an arrest for assault on a federal officer,” Bondi said in a post on social media.

“To date, there have been 93 arrests and 28 illegal guns seized. Our work is saving lives.”

Bondi and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth traveled to Memphis on Wednesday to highlight the effort, which comes during the ongoing federal government shutdown.

“Even though the Democrats shut down the government and stopped their pay – the Tennessee National Guard will never quit,” Hegseth said in a social media statement, praising the work of Guard members supporting the operation.

The task force has faced criticism from some state leaders. Tennessee state Sen. Jeff Yarbro (D-Nashville) questioned whether the National Guard should be deployed in Memphis, citing past legal opinions.

“In short, only circumstances amounting to a rebellion or invasion permit the governor to call out the militia, and even then, the Legislature must declare, by law, that the public safety requires it,” Yarbro said, referring to opinions issued in 2021 and 2024.

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti dismissed those objections, noting that such opinions are not legally binding. He also pushed back against suggestions that his office withdrew them for political purposes.

“If the folks at the press conference are insinuating my office withdrew these opinions six months before the election to pave the way for Trump policies a year and a half later, they have bigger problems than this legal question,” Skrmetti said in an email to The Center Square.

“If I could see the future like that, I’d be neck deep in Bitcoin and Pokémon cards.”

The Memphis Safe Task Force continues its operations in coordination with local law enforcement and federal agencies. Officials have said the initiative is designed to address violent crime, gang activity, and the flow of illegal weapons in the city.
