Camacho was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to a report from ABC 7.

Authorities said the family had contacted law enforcement earlier in the day to report that Camacho was assaulting the boy and threatening him with a knife.

Deputies arrived within minutes and were met with a chaotic and dangerous situation inside the home.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the deputy’s actions during a news briefing, describing the incident as a matter of life and death.

“Deputy Gonzalez’s quick response and decisive action saved a child’s life,” Chronister said.

“And it’s gonna be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York. Because if you have a Communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there,” he said.

Investigators allege that the defendants accepted bribes ranging from $20,000 to $37,000 in exchange for providing protection to what they believed were large shipments of illegal narcotics being transported through the Mississippi Delta.

The “traffickers” they assisted were actually undercover FBI agents.

Joyner said the officers and their co-conspirators participated in a network of corruption that reached across multiple counties in Mississippi and into Tennessee.

“The first indictment that I’ll talk about involves a conspiracy whereby law enforcement officers and their accomplices are alleged to have agreed to provide safe passage for illegal narcotics and drug proceeds through the Mississippi Delta region, and ultimately, on the last of those runs, into Memphis itself,” Joyner explained.

“They did this in return for bribe payments — for money. They are also indicted for related firearms offenses and, of course, individual counts related to specific runs throughout the Mississippi Delta.”

FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey condemned the defendants, saying their actions eroded public confidence in law enforcement.

“They betrayed the trust that the public placed in them, disgraced the badge and undermined the hard work of good law enforcement officers across this state and region,” Bailey said.

The Justice Department confirmed that all defendants were taken into federal custody this week and are expected to appear before a U.S. magistrate judge in the coming days. The case remains under active investigation.

“There was a woman who approached our vehicle with like blood, like her hands were filled, her body was filled with blood, asking to call 911,” Castro told the outlet.

Castro said Mock took her phone and ran back inside the house before calling authorities. According to Sedgwick County dispatchers, Mock told them she “stabbed [her] mother to save herself.”

Officers arrived minutes later and took Mock into custody without further incident. She was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

Castro said she and her boyfriend were later contacted by police and had their phone returned. “We never know what anyone is going through,” she said. “This happened randomly, but as long as we were able to get 911 and see what we can do, that’s all I really care about.”

Mock’s professional history includes several years as a broadcast journalist. She worked as a morning and evening fill-in anchor at KTVI Fox 2 in St. Louis from 2011 to 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile.

After leaving television, she held various sales roles until 2017 and later joined a data management firm with offices across the Midwest, including one in Wichita.

In the clip, two men can be seen grabbing a red chair and hurling it out of frame as onlookers screamed and scattered.

Police said the incident left one officer injured, though the department has not disclosed the extent of his injuries.

Investigators released still images taken from the surveillance video showing the two men believed to have thrown the chair. Authorities are now asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspects.

The comments came as the Democratic caucus in the Senate has repeatedly voted against funding measures to reopen the government, citing disagreements over provisions related to healthcare and immigration programs.

Republicans have argued that Democrats’ refusal to advance temporary funding legislation is prolonging the shutdown.

Pelosi’s latest remarks follow a series of increasingly tense public appearances in recent weeks.

In a separate interview with NBC Boston last month, she drew attention for using explicit language when discussing negotiations with the White House.

Asked by a reporter if she had confidence in ongoing talks, Pelosi responded, “I have no idea. Going into it, let’s review what the President has said. What we’re talking about is meeting the health care needs of the American people, little babies, moms with breast cancer, dads with a stroke, and all of that. The President has said, I hear what they’re saying. It’s all unserious and ridiculous.”

She continued, “In fact, I’ve listened to their sh*t, and I tell them to go f**k themselves.”

The exchange marked one of the most direct and profane moments from Pelosi since leaving the Speaker’s office in early 2023.

Her comments drew criticism from some in her own party, who have urged Democrats to lower the temperature in public rhetoric amid heightened political tensions.

Friday’s remarks also come amid mounting pressure on Congress to end the shutdown, which has affected multiple federal agencies and delayed pay for thousands of workers.

Senate Republicans have introduced measures to restore funding for key programs, including SNAP, but Democratic leadership has continued to block passage.

During her appearance on The Rush Hour, Pelosi reiterated her belief that Trump’s leadership style and policies remain harmful to the country.

“He is a very, very dangerous man,” she said, emphasizing her view that his presidency has been damaging “for children and families” across the United States.
