U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro said Wednesday that a federal investigation found the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) significantly misreported crime statistics, making crime rates appear lower than they actually were.

Pirro detailed the findings during an appearance on America’s Newsroom, saying the investigation concluded that MPD data understated crime and that a majority of arrests made in the district were not prosecuted during the administration of former President Joe Biden.

According to Pirro, the investigation was launched after concerns were raised about deflated crime numbers.

She said the probe was conducted over several months and involved an extensive review of police reports and witness testimony.

“And the investigation that we conducted over a period of several months, based upon the report of the deflation of numbers, was very thorough,” Pirro said.

“As you indicated, over 6,000 reports were looked at, over 50 witnesses, and those witnesses were ranked and file from the top down.”

Pirro said the investigation uncovered that more than 65 percent of arrests made in Washington were not prosecuted under the previous U.S. attorney’s office during the Biden-Harris administration.

“And you know, Dana, what’s amazing to me is that the U.S. attorney before me in the Biden administration did not go forward with more than 65 percent of the arrests,” Pirro said.

“That means that even if police made arrests, they weren’t being prosecuted. In my office, we go forward with over 90 percent of the arrests.”

Pirro’s comments followed a federal finding announced Monday that MPD crime data significantly understated crime levels.

The finding directly contradicted repeated claims from Democrats and several media outlets that crime in the nation’s capital had dropped sharply.

The dispute over crime statistics intensified after President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard and authorized a federal takeover of the MPD in August.

Following that move, MPD data claimed crime had dropped by 35 percent since 2024. However, that data excluded aggravated assaults and felony assaults that did not involve weapons.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation included those offenses in its crime reporting and concluded that crime had decreased by only 10 percent compared to 2024.

Pirro said the federal investigation clarified the scope of the discrepancy between MPD reporting and broader federal crime data.

While she did not dispute that crime had decreased, she said the findings showed that the reduction was greater than initially acknowledged once underreported offenses were accounted for.

Pirro said the investigation “makes it clear President Trump has reduced crime more than originally thought.”

Concerns about crime reporting in Washington had been raised publicly before the federal investigation concluded.

In August, Washington Police Union Chairman Gregg Pemberton said on The Story with Martha MacCallum that officers were ordered to misreport certain crimes, including robberies and burglaries.

Those claims aligned with the findings announced by Pirro, which indicated that crime statistics presented by MPD did not reflect the full scope of criminal activity in the district.

As part of the federal takeover, law enforcement activity increased across Washington.

Pirro said that as of late September, police had made more than 3,500 arrests following the federal intervention.

“Throughout the investigation,” he added, “we heard about Joe Biden coming into the FBI office. I mean, it was really, really concerning from like, ‘Is this honestly the best place to work this tax investigation?’”

Ziegler also pointed to the political climate surrounding the investigation.

“Politics were so strong in in the district of Delaware, the state of Delaware,” he said.

“For the first search warrant the judge made an improper comment … and she had to recuse herself from reviewing that affidavit and signing off on it … and everyone knew of the Biden family within that state because it’s so small and it’s such a tight-knit community.”

Hunter Biden pleaded guilty in federal court in September 2024 to felony tax offenses.

He avoided incarceration after then-President Biden issued a full and unconditional pardon in December 2024, shortly before Hunter Biden was scheduled to be sentenced in a separate federal gun case.

Shapley and Ziegler said the case involved far more than tax violations, alleging that potential offenses were never charged and were ultimately erased by the plea deal and pardon.

Ziegler and Shapley described uncharged allegations related to foreign business dealings in Ukraine, Romania, and China, including claims that Hunter Biden failed to register as a foreign agent while receiving large payments.

“The money was going for the family, was always about enriching the Biden family,” Shapley said.

“Whether it was tuition … or any other types of bills.”

Shapley noted Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, where he served for roughly five years and earned up to $1 million annually despite having no background in the energy sector.

Text messages recovered from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, which was authenticated during his felony gun trial in Delaware in June 2024, included a January 2019 exchange with his daughter Naomi.

“I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years,” Hunter Biden wrote.

“It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike pop, I won’t make you give me half your salary,” he added.

Shapley referenced communications involving Chinese business associates and payments routed to Biden family accounts.

“Going back to the video of Vice President Joe Biden in Ukraine saying, if you don’t fire Viktor Shokin by the time I leave, and he looks at his watch, he’s like, you’re not getting the money,” Shapley said.

“This is like a Biden family tradition almost, right? To shake down people to get exactly what you want.”

Joe Biden repeatedly claimed he had no involvement in his son’s business activities.

In December 2023, he told a New York Post reporter that allegations he acted “either illegally or unethically” were “a bunch of lies.”

Shapley said the scale of influence was unlike anything he had seen.

“The scale here and the amount of access that the family had, and it goes on and on,” he said. “But the scale is really unprecedented.”

Both whistleblowers said prosecutors blocked investigators from taking standard investigative steps, including access to material from Hunter Biden’s laptop.

“Normally evidence flows to the investigators and then from the investigators to the prosecutors,” Ziegler said.

“And in this case, it flowed from the prosecutors, filtered to the investigators.”

Their book, published Nov. 11, is titled The Whistleblowers vs. The Big Guy, referencing the nickname used by Hunter Biden’s associates for his father.

During February 2024 testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Hunter Biden denied involving his father in business dealings.

“I shut it down, and the evidence of me shutting it down is the actual things you have as evidence,” Hunter Biden said.

“Nothing to do with my dad, zero.”

Ziegler responded during the podcast: “I hope that they continue to unravel and pull these strings because there were multi-layers to the potential corruption that was involved in this.”

He cited an affidavit dated May 14, 2024, produced by the House Ways and Means Committee, alleging that CIA officials blocked investigators from interviewing Hunter Biden associate Kevin Morris.

Morris later paid $6.5 million in legal fees and $2 million toward Hunter Biden’s tax liabilities.

Ziegler also said the Department of Homeland Security faced pressure to secure a visa for CEFC chairman Ye Jianming and referenced issues involving FBI leadership in New York during the same period.

Shapley said potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act were never charged due to statutes of limitations.

“If that ever went to trial, then we would have had to thoroughly investigate the FARA stuff,” Shapley said.

“It’s almost criminal. It was obstruction.”

Both whistleblowers said they were not surprised by the pardon and said they would come forward again despite retaliation.

“Even after losing all of those to the what had happened throughout this last three years, speaking the truth is one of the most important things,” Ziegler said.

“When we put our badge on our hip as IRS special agents, we are making a pledge… That when we see something that’s wrong, we’re going to say something.”

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment.

As of the latest update, the suspect remains unidentified and at large.

“The individual was last seen fleeing the location on foot towards Sterling Place and Albany Avenue,” police said in their statement.

“Evil, hateful, antisemitic violence must come to an end. We cannot let this hate persist in our city, and we will never back down. We are praying for this man and his family, and the NYPD Hate Crimes Division is investigating this incident as we speak,” Adams said.

The incident adds to growing concerns about antisemitic attacks in New York City. Law enforcement officials have repeatedly emphasized that hate crimes targeting Jewish residents are taken seriously and investigated aggressively.

Police urged members of the public to assist with the investigation by coming forward with any information that could help identify the suspect or determine his whereabouts.

An Alabama sports reporter and her husband were found dead inside their family home Tuesday morning with gunshot wounds in what authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide, according to police.

The bodies of Christina Chambers, a former WBRC 6 sports reporter, and her husband, Johnny Rimes, were discovered around 9 a.m. inside their residence in Hoover, the station reported.

The Hoover Police Department said officers responded after a family member called 911 upon finding the couple unresponsive inside the home.

Police said officers who arrived at the scene located the couple’s 3-year-old child inside the residence.

The child was unharmed.

Chambers and Rimes were pronounced dead at the scene after suffering gunshot wounds.

Chambers was well known in Alabama media circles for her work at WBRC 6, where she joined the station in 2015.

A newly surfaced video shows 18-year-old Anna Kepner dancing with fellow passengers aboard the Carnival Horizon just days before she was found dead in her cabin, as federal authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, as reported by Fox News.

The video, posted on TikTok by user @nickcapo609, captures Carnival Horizon’s Sail Away Party on Nov. 2, as the ship departed PortMiami for a weeklong Caribbean cruise.

In the footage, passengers are seen gathered on the open deck, swaying to music as the ship began its voyage.

Near the center of the crowd, Kepner is visible wearing black shorts and a white top, dancing alongside other travelers. Her grandmother, dressed in pink, can be seen standing nearby.

The video represents one of the last known public appearances of Kepner before her death. Authorities have released limited information about what occurred between the time the footage was recorded and the discovery of her body.

Kepner was found dead on Nov. 7 inside her cabin aboard the Carnival Horizon. According to officials, her body was discovered under a bed in the room she was sharing with two siblings, including her 16-year-old stepbrother.

The ship returned to PortMiami on Nov. 9, at which point federal authorities boarded the vessel and began collecting evidence.

Officials said Kepner died from “mechanical asphyxia.” The Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the death.

While the FBI has not publicly identified any suspects and no criminal charges have been filed, developments in family court proceedings have shed light on the direction of the inquiry.

Court filings related to an ongoing dispute involving Kepner’s father and stepmother, Christopher Kepner and Shauntel Kepner, and Shauntel Kepner’s ex-husband, Thomas Hudson, indicate that the couple’s 16-year-old son is being investigated in connection with Anna Kepner’s death.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the nature of that investigation.

The FBI has not commented publicly on whether any criminal conduct has been established, and investigators have not confirmed whether additional individuals are being scrutinized.

The lack of public information has left many questions unanswered as the investigation continues.

Kepner was from Titusville, Florida, and was a senior at Temple Christian School. According to her family, she was preparing to graduate in the spring of 2026 and had expressed plans to enlist in the U.S. Navy after completing high school.

Carnival Cruise Line has not released a detailed public statement addressing the circumstances of Kepner’s death beyond confirming cooperation with federal authorities.

Federal investigators continue to review evidence gathered from the ship following its return to Miami.

The case has drawn attention due to the unusual circumstances surrounding the discovery of Kepner’s body and the involvement of federal authorities.

As of now, no timeline has been provided for the conclusion of the investigation, and officials have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry remains active.

Candace Owens said she has not backed away from any of her suspicions surrounding the killing of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, despite a lengthy private meeting with Turning Point leadership and Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, as reported by the Gateway Pundit.

Owens addressed the issue during a Tuesday episode of The Candace podcast, where she discussed her recent meeting with Erika Kirk, Turning Point USA CEO and widow of Charlie Kirk.

Owens described the meeting as lasting four and a half hours and taking place earlier this week.

Owens opened the episode by greeting viewers with “Shabbat Shalom” and “Happy Hanukkah,” followed by a series of remarks she framed as trolling, including statements such as “Tucker Carlson is Adolf Hitler, and TikTok does need to be purchased by the Mossad.”

She then addressed public reaction to a social media post she made following the meeting.

“Okay, you guys are crazy. You guys are absolutely crazy. The amount of people who attacked me for sending out a tweet being like, ‘Hey, I’m good, I’m alive, we had a very productive conversation,’ and they were like, ‘She got the call. She got the call. She’s betrayed us. She’s doing something else. I can’t believe it. This has all just been a show,’” Owens said.

“Calm down. Okay. What do you think happened? Erica said, ‘Stop.’ And then I was frozen for four and a half, four hours and 30 minutes, just like as I just put all of these talking points into my head?” she continued.

Owens said the meeting took place on Monday and replaced a planned public debate that did not occur.

In an X post after the meeting, Owens described it as “an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did.”

The meeting followed a public dispute between Owens and Erika Kirk.

Erika Kirk appeared on Fox News last week and accused Owens of “making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode, going after the people that I love because somehow they’re in on this.”

Owens responded by calling the interview a “performance,” saying it “unmasked herself and the entire TPUSA machine in one interview.”

The dispute continued Saturday when Erika Kirk participated in a town hall with CBS editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

During that appearance, Erika Kirk said she was concerned that theories surrounding her husband’s killing could affect the jury pool in the case against Tyler Robinson, who has been accused in connection with Charlie Kirk’s death. She referenced claims involving Egyptian planes.

Owens responded by saying Erika Kirk was “completely dodging the question by confronting a claim that we never made,” adding, “Literally NO ONE accused Erika or Charlie of flying on Egyptian planes.”

During Tuesday’s podcast, Owens reiterated her focus on the planes.

“I am certain that these Egyptian planes are incredibly shady, and that they were, in fact, tracking Turning Point USA Faith, broader events,” Owens said. “Of course, Erika was at some of them, Charlie was at some of them, but it is– the pattern here is undeniable.”

She said she plans to present “overwhelming evidence” that the planes “regularly fly in and out of Israel” and that they are “turning their transponder off each time that they do it.”

Owens said she entered the meeting unsure of what to expect and acknowledged that Turning Point leadership raised concerns about her past statements.

“Erika was very clear that they were sort of most upset with what I— obviously in a bit of a fever pitch— when I tweeted that it was a God-forsaken company and people should not give money to it, and I have to own that that’s aggressive,” Owens said.

“That is actually aggressive.”

Owens also said Erika Kirk addressed what she described as “miscommunications” coming from various people at Turning Point USA and denied claims that Charlie Kirk sent messages the night before his death predicting he would be killed, a claim Erika Kirk previously rejected during an interview with Glenn Beck, stating, “I have his cell phone,” and he “didn’t say that.”

Despite the meeting, Owens said she remains unconvinced.

“I did not at all recant any of my suspicions, and I understand people disagree with me about particular people at Turning Point USA,” she said.

Owens cited several unresolved issues, including Terrell Farnsworth removing SD cards from cameras after the shooting, statements from Turning Point leaders, the presence of Pastor Rob McCoy and his son Mikey McCoy at the time of the shooting, and questions surrounding Tyler Robinson’s role.

Police said the alleged tampering occurred at two Walmart locations in Biloxi: a Walmart Supercenter and a nearby Walmart Neighborhood Market. Over the course of more than a week, several customers reported discovering razor blades inside loaves of bread they had purchased from those stores, as reported by Fox News.

The first reported incident occurred on Dec. 5 at the Walmart Supercenter, when a customer alerted store employees that a razor blade had been found inside a loaf of bread, according to reporting from The Associated Press.

A second complaint followed three days later on Dec. 8 at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, involving a similar discovery.

On Dec. 14, six days after the second complaint, another customer reported finding a razor blade in bread purchased from the Supercenter.

That report prompted store employees to inspect additional bread products on the shelves.

During the inspection, employees discovered several more loaves that appeared to have been tampered with, according to law enforcement officials cited by the AP.

Police said two additional complaints were reported on Dec. 15, further confirming a pattern of alleged product tampering across the two locations, Fox 26 Houston reported.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the alleged actions. The Biloxi Police Department said officials currently do not believe any other stores beyond the two Biloxi Walmart locations were targeted.

As a precaution, police advised customers who purchased bread from Walmart stores within the city to inspect their products carefully for sharp objects.

Customers who believe they may have purchased a tampered product were urged to dispose of it immediately and contact their local Walmart store for a refund.

Walmart confirmed it took action once the reports were brought to its attention.

“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” a Walmart spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

“We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.”

Authorities said no serious injuries have been reported in connection with the incidents.

The Biloxi Police Department continues to investigate the case and has not released further details regarding how the razor blades were inserted into the bread or whether additional charges could be filed.
