Harvard Professors Try Blocking Audit Into Billions in Government Grants

Professors at Harvard University have filed a lawsuit aimed at halting a federal review of nearly $9 billion in government grants and contracts awarded to the school, as the Trump administration investigates antisemitism on college campuses.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in federal court in Boston, claims that the administration’s audit threatens academic freedom and free speech.

It was brought by the Harvard chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the national organization.

The legal challenge comes amid a broader federal effort to investigate antisemitic incidents and rhetoric on college campuses, including those at elite universities.

The Trump administration has increased scrutiny of institutions receiving taxpayer funds, particularly where student protests or faculty conduct have raised concerns.

According to the AAUP, the audit violates constitutional protections and is intended to intimidate faculty and chill campus discourse.

The Department of Justice, which is representing the administration in the case, declined to comment on the pending litigation.

Harvard University, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, also declined to issue a statement.

The funding in question includes approximately $9 billion in federal grants and contracts provided to Harvard over recent years.

While the administration has not publicly detailed the full scope of the audit, it is part of a broader review of federal funding to universities where there have been allegations of antisemitism or campus unrest.

The issue gained national attention in 2023, when then-Harvard President Claudine Gay testified before Congress.

During her testimony, Gay was asked whether calling for the genocide of Jews would violate Harvard’s code of conduct.

She responded that such speech would not necessarily constitute a violation, prompting widespread criticism. Gay later stepped down from her position.

In May 2024, faculty and students at Harvard participated in a rally where participants were heard chanting “Intifada, come to America,” according to event footage and multiple news reports.

The demonstration, which included both anti-Israel and anti-American sentiment, drew further attention to the climate on Harvard’s campus and fueled calls for a federal review of the school’s publicly funded programs.

The federal audit is focused on ensuring that taxpayer money is not being used to subsidize institutions that allow discriminatory conduct or fail to uphold civil rights standards, officials have said.

The legal action from the Harvard professors comes despite the university’s massive financial resources.

As of 2024, Harvard’s endowment is valued at more than $51 billion, making it the largest university endowment in the country.

The school’s reliance on federal grants and contracts—despite this endowment—has also sparked criticism.

The professors’ lawsuit is expected to be an early test of how far universities can go in resisting federal oversight tied to campus behavior and the use of taxpayer funds.

The case is pending in U.S. District Court in Boston, with a hearing date yet to be scheduled.

The Trump administration has not indicated whether additional universities will face similar audits, though officials have suggested more reviews could be on the horizon.

“We need you to stand up to fight for justice. To fight for economic justice, social justice and racial justice.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday addressed the contrast in transparency between the Trump and Biden administrations, particularly regarding Joe Biden’s cognitive condition during his time in office.

Leavitt also took aim at members of the media for their role in what she described as a coordinated effort to downplay Biden’s mental decline. During a White House press briefing, Leavitt fielded a question about President Donald Trump’s upcoming annual physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

She assured reporters that the White House would release updates from the physician once the examination was completed. The exchange took a turn when a reporter brought up the issue of transparency in relation to the previous administration.

That prompted Leavitt to criticize both the Biden administration and members of the press for failing to address the issue of Biden’s declining mental acuity while he was in office.

“I can tell you there was certainly a lack of transparency from the former president, from the entire former administration, and frankly, a lot of people in this room when it came to the health and the competence of the former President of the United States, Joe Biden,” Leavitt said.

She went on to characterize the collective effort to obscure Biden’s cognitive condition as “one of the greatest cover-ups, and frankly, political scandals this nation has ever seen.”

Leavitt also commented on recent revelations published in books written by journalists who previously downplayed or ignored signs of Biden’s cognitive issues.

“It’s been unraveled in some recent books that are being written by journalists who engaged in that cover-up and scandal, which is quite ironic,” she noted.

Though she did not name specific individuals, the remarks appeared to reference reporters who once dismissed concerns about Biden’s mental sharpness.

Some, like CNN’s Jake Tapper, had previously suggested that criticism of Biden’s verbal gaffes or memory lapses was merely an attack on his stutter.

In recent weeks, Leavitt has also raised the issue of potential transparency surrounding Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Biden.

When asked earlier this week whether the Trump administration would consider releasing audio recordings of that interview, Leavitt responded, “I don’t have an update on that, but I can certainly check. I think the American people would be quite interested to hear that tape, but I’ll double-check on the release of it.”

Leavitt has become known for challenging members of the press to pursue accountability with equal rigor across administrations.

In a previous exchange with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, Leavitt questioned whether Biden had knowingly used an autopen to sign official documents, including pardons.

“Was he aware of his signature being used on every single pardon?” she asked.

When Collins countered by asking for evidence, Leavitt replied, “You’re a reporter; you should find out.”

At Friday’s briefing, Leavitt emphasized that President Trump remains active and engaged, noting that reporters who have covered him “know from covering [Trump], it’s hard to keep up with him.”

She added, “He is a machine working around the clock every single day, and the physician, after today’s physical, will provide an update on the report in the effort of transparency.”

Leavitt’s remarks come as new information continues to emerge from inside the Biden administration.

One recent book revealed that Kamala Harris’s team reportedly maintained a “death-pool roster” of federal judges who could take emergency action if Biden were to die in office.

The report has added fuel to ongoing concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding Biden’s health during his presidency.

As questions of competency and openness dominate the headlines, Leavitt’s call for equal scrutiny across political lines signals a continued push from the Trump administration for accountability—not just from political opponents, but from the press corps covering them.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s visit to the FDA made headlines as he schooled employees on everything from past CIA experiments, mind control and the Deep State.

Kennedy, who also warned FDA employees against becoming “sock puppets” of the industries they regulate, didn’t hold back.

“Because of my family’s commitment to these issues, I spent 200 hours at Wassaic Home for the Retarded when I was in high school,” Kennedy said, referencing the Wassaic State School for the Mentally Retarded in Wassaic, New York.

“So I was seeing people with intellectual disabilities all the time. I never saw anybody with autism.”

Kennedy’s remark unnerved several FDA employees, who misheard and thought he was making a derogatory comment about people with intellectual disabilities.

“President Trump always talks about the Deep State and the media, you know, disparages him and says that he’s paranoid,” Kennedy said, according to a transcript and audio via Politico.

“But the Deep State is real. And it’s not, you know, just George Soros and Bill Gates and a bunch of nefarious individuals sitting together in a room and plotting the, you know, the destruction of humanity.”

Kennedy said that “every institution that’s created by human beings” is inevitably captured by powerful interests.

He then vowed that the Department of Health and Human Services would not be subjected to undue influence and would listen to “dissidents.”

“All of us are subject to those gravities of agency capture,” Kennedy said, calling on the audience to “be conscious of that gravity because it’s going to be pulling you every single day of your career. We want to break away from this so we can make our kids healthy.”

The speech sent many FDA staffers reeling, which was undoubtedly the point.

HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon said in a statement that Kennedy was “telling the truth that many Americans already know: for too long, the FDA has been captured by the very industries it is supposed to regulate.”

“Calling this out and encouraging radical transparency is not controversial — it’s leadership,” Nixon said.

“The era of rubber-stamping and silence is over.”

Last week, Kennedy culled around 10,000 employees, vowing that HHS would find ways to “do more with less.”

“This whole generation is damaged,” Kennedy said.

“The information is out there,” he said. “But those studies aren’t done because they may offend the financial interests of powerful entities.”

Kennedy also referenced the CIA’s MK-Ultra Project — the infamous human experimentation program from the 1960s — in what appeared to be both a warning and an effort to encourage FDA employees to align with his agenda to Make America Healthy Again.

Judge Rules Columbia Protestor Mahmoud Khalil can be Deported

On April 11, a federal judge in Louisiana ruled that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has the authority to deport a Syrian man at the center of pro-Palestinian and anti-Jewish demonstrations and mayhem at New York’s Columbia University. 

Judge Jamee Comans said Mahmoud Khalil, 30, can be deported and that the State Department has the legal authority to expel green card holders (non-citizens) deemed to be agitating against U.S. foreign policy interests. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Khalil never mentioned to the U.S. that he worked in the office of the British embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, that dealt with Syrian issues. DHS said this made Khalil “inadmissible at the time of his adjustment” because he misrepresented himself and his past. 

What riled the U.S. government was Khalil’s involvement with “student” protests against Israel at Columbia University. During these demonstrations, some students and activists denied Jewish students the right to freely move about the campus, threatened them, and took over university buildings by force. 

Judge Comans ruled that Khalil was “deportable” under a law cited by Secretary of State Marco Rubio that allows expulsion of guests in the U.S. who take actions deemed to be antithetical to U.S. foreign policy. 

Advocates for Khalil and pro-Palestinian demonstrators say this is a violation of “free speech,” and that Khalil is being politically persecuted. His lawyer Sabrina Mohamah told media that the decision was “unjust and alarming,” and “a blatant violation of the First Amendment.”

Department of Homeland Security director Kristi Noem countered this view, stating that it was a “privilege” to be given a visa to study in the U.S. and that the country does not have to host guest who support terrorist organizations. “Good riddance,” she said in reaction to the ruling. 

Khalil has been held in custody in a Lousiana prison since March 8 when he was arrested. The court ruling gives him until April 23 to file for relief in the courts, so he’ll be cooling his heels in the U.S. for a bit longer. 

The protests against Israel kicked off at Columbia and other universities after the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists. The militants breached the Israeli border and slaughtered thousands of young people attending an outdoor music festival, raping women and abducting hundreds. Leftist “pro-Palestinian” demonstrators in the U.S. accused Israel of waging “genocide” against Palestinians through its aggressive military response. 

The White House announced the court decision on X/Twitter, using an image of Donald Trump from the day he visited a McDonald’s. The image shows the president waving “goodbye” from a drive through window.

Is it possible that 10 years of complete madness about so-called “transgender” children may be coming to an end? If the following court case in Australia is anything to go on, we may have some hope.

An Australian court has, finally, recognized that telling a child that he or she is “born in the wrong body,” and setting the child on a path to a “sex-change” is just plain old child abuse. The court ruled against the child’s mother, and for the father. As it is in almost every case, “transitioning” a child is the act of the mother, and appears to be part of a maternal psychological imbalance rather than anything allegedly wrong with the child. 

The family members are not named, but Australian judge Andrew Strum stripped custody from the boy’s mother. He gave custody to the father, who had tried to stop his wife’s project of “transitioning” their son. The mother claimed her son had been “gender dysphoric” since the age of six, and began taking him to a so-called “gender clinic.” She also started sewing him custom underwear to “flatten” the crotch and hide the appearance of male anatomy. 

The court found that no doctor or clinician had actually diagnosed “gender dysphoria” in the child, and that this appeared to be entirely the mother’s project. Of course, there is no such thing as a “transgender” child (or a “transgender” person) at all, regardless of whatever absurd diagnoses medical professionals may claim. 

According to the case, the mother was trying to start injections of  so-called “puberty blockers,” powerful chemicals that stop normal puberty and set children up for permanent sterilization and other problems. This is the usual course for what are called “trans kids,” with many left permanently unable to have children, along with a host of other potentially life-shortening medical ailments. 

Medical associations and famous clinics are completely captured by the lunatic idea that some children need sex changes. The renowned Mayo Clinic writes approvingly, and falsely, about how “safe” puberty blockers are. 

Not only that, but the court found that the expert witness testifying for the mother was in truth a radical political activist who worked to have children removed from families that would not consent to the barbaric procedure. The entire ruling can be read here.

CNN got trapped in its own machinations when host Anderson Cooper misgendered a nonbinary Civil Rights attorney, leaving Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders’ jaws wide ajar. Cooper was hosting the network’s town hall event featuring the United States Senator for Vermont when he introduced a they/them pronoun-using liberal activist as a woman.

I want to introduce Grace Thomas. She is a local civil rights attorney. She is a Democrat, right?” Cooper said.

“They/them pronouns, actually. Thank you,” Thomas said.

The pronoun slip hit Sanders’ 107-year-old brain like a brick from the blues, leaving him stunned and scowling so hard that he must have popped a vein.

Undoubtedly, Cooper made an honest mistake since they/them pronoun-using individuals do not wear pronoun labels to help the rest of humanity know how to address them in advance. The least they could do is tattoo their pronouns on their forehead to make life easier for everybody. 

For the curious folks out there, it remains unclear if Thomas was born a woman or had transitioned. Those with that information will also tell you that disclosing someone’s gender except their preferred one is a violation of privacy.

Interesting to see if they will cancel Cooper for making the same mistake every commonsense-using person does regularly and pays dearly for it. Recently, a Christian nurse was suspended for addressing a transgender convicted pedophile as “Mister.”

Nonetheless, conservative netizens had a field day with the CNN host for misgendering a non-binary host, which, by now, should be against the network’s policies.

“CNN’s Anderson Cooper gets corrected after misgendering a civil rights attorney at a town hall event with Bernie Sanders. Wow, what a bigot. Lmao,” posted Trending Politics co-founder Collin Rugg.

Riley Gaines, an outspoken former collegiate female athlete who competed against transgender athlete Lia Thomas in 2022, called for Cooper’s immediate resignation. West Virginia recently passed the Riley Gaines Act, which was inspired by a 14-year-old who refused to compete against a transgender opponent.

“Calling for Anderson Cooper’s immediate resignation for believing what his eyes were telling him he saw Bigot,” she X’ed.

Similarly, conservative political commentator Gunther Eagleman encouraged Democrats to continue fighting over pronouns to make GOP the party of choice for logical Americans. 

“Anderson Cooper just misgendered a Civil Rights attorney. They are not serious. Keep on putting the pronoun police on camera, we will win every election.”

Meanwhile, transgender rights remain a divisive issue among Democrats, with some feeling that the party has strayed too far from reality and alienated many American voters. 

During the 2024 election campaigns, Trump saw an opportunity and capitalized on it to paint Kamala as a far-left liberal whose values clashed with most Americans’.

“Kamala is for they/them; President Trump is for you,” Trump’s ad claimed.

However, those in the far-left want to double down on trans rights, risking splitting the party.  They even tried to cancel California governor and potential 2028 Democratic presidential frontrunner Gavin Newsom when he said allowing trans athletes in women’s sports was “deeply unfair.”

Texas AG Investigates USA Fencing for Disqualifying Female Athlete Who Refused to Fight Trans Fencer

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is investigating USA Fencing after it disqualified a female athlete who refused to compete against a biological male who identifies as a female.

Fencing Academy of Philadelphia’s Stephanie Turner was disqualified after refusing to challenge transgender-identifying Redmond Sullivan at a USA Fencing-sanctioned event at the University of Maryland on March 30. Wagner College’s Sullivan used to compete against men until October 2023, when he started identifying as a woman.

Turner was issued a black card, which represents total disqualification, as “the direct result of her decision to decline to fence an eligible opponent.”

Subsequently, AG Paxton issued a Civil Investigative Demand (CID) to uncover documents that would prove USA Fencing potentially engaged in “false, deceptive, and misleading acts and practices” in violation of Texas consumer laws.

“USA Fencing is on the wrong side of history and potentially the wrong side of the law due to violations of Texas consumer protection laws,” Paxton stated. 

Paxton added that the practice was not only illegal and insulting but also disenfranchised women who dedicated countless hours to succeed in women’s sports.

“USA Fencing’s policies are not only potentially illegal, but also deeply insulting to the young women like Stephanie Turner who have sacrificed so much and dedicated countless hours to compete and succeed in competitions. I will fight to stop these unfair policies, and I will never back down from defending the integrity of women’s sports.”

Turner’s previous statement corroborated Paxton’s assessment, having described the disqualification as heart-wrenching as she had spent several months preparing for the event.

“I cried so much because I had spent quite a few months training specifically with this in mind,” she told NewsNation.

However, she disclosed that she had vowed to forfeit the tournament if she was pitted against a transgender-identifying individual as she was not willing to keep pretending that all was well.

“I was always nervous about it, because it creates a scene, and it will obviously result in the black card,” she added.

“I don’t want to let people know that I’m OK with this and pretend like nothing’s happening,” Turner continued. “So, that’s when I took the knee.”

Meanwhile, Wagner College says the transgender-identifying athlete is no longer part of its women’s fencing team, and was conspicuously missing from female events.

“We are in full compliance with NCAA and NEC rules and regulations. The fencer is not a member of our fencing team,” Wagner College Spokesperson Jim Chiavelli said.

When Trump signed the executive order banning men in women’s sports, the NCAA swiftly updated its competition guidelines, banning “student-athletes assigned male at birth” from participating on “women’s teams.”

However, USA Fencing is doubling down on allowing biological male athletes to compete against women, saying it was always prepared to “err on the side of inclusion.” Ironically, it was willing to turn a blind eye to women being excluded from their sports by biological men.

By Oct 2024, transgender-identifying athletes had won over 900 medals in various women’s sports.  Two transgender pool players faced off in the UK’s Ultimate Pool Women’s Pro Series Event 2, having displaced all biological female players.

“While we understand there are a range of perspectives, USA Fencing will continue to engage in respectful, research-based dialogue and review as policy evolves in the Olympic and Paralympic movement as well as domestic law,” the fencing body stated. “Hate speech or targeted hate of any kind is not acceptable — online or in person.”

While the event was not held in the Lone Star State, USA Fencing’s failure to comply with Trump’s executive order banning men from women’s sports could hinder its ability to organize tournaments across various institutions and states, including Texas.

In another case of woke gone amok, a Christian female nurse was suspended for refusing to refer to a convicted biological male pedophile as a woman. The man was convicted of sexually abusing multiple boys whom he catfished online while posing as a girl. He currently serves a prison sentence in a maximum security prison.

Yet, liberals continually refuse to acknowledge that individuals who assume a different gender from that assigned at birth pose a significant danger to society. 

In this case, Jennifer Melle, 40, said she was suspended by St Helier Hospital in Carshalton, London, after disclosing that the NHS Trust had taken a disciplinary action against her for refusing to use preferred pronouns when caring for a convicted male pedophile who identifies as a woman. Jennifer apparently referred to the 6-foot biological male pedophile as “Mister.” 

Additionally, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) declared her a “potential risk” for refusing to acknowledge the convicted felon’s gender identity. She also disclosed that the pedophile racially abused her for misgendering him.

“How about I call you n*****?… Yes, black n*****!” He blurted.

According to the Christian nurse, the NHS institution suspended her for breaching the convicted pedophile’s patient confidentiality by disclosing his gender. In a world that operates on common sense, a person’s gender should not be a secret and can be determined with the naked eye. 

Similarly, no one should lose a career they have spent decades building for using the wrong pronouns. Surprisingly, a pronoun slip also takes priority over racial abuse, which is clearly prohibited by the UK’s Public Order Act 1986 and Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

Nonetheless, Jennifer said she has been repeatedly targeted after she expressed her Christian beliefs, suggesting that the case was a pretext to finally get rid of her. Surprisingly, the woke NHS is willing to get rid of a self-sacrificing nurse to protect the feelings of a trans pedophile who loves hurting children for self-gratification.

“Ever since I expressed my Christian beliefs under extreme pressure, I have been a marked woman,” Jennifer told the Christian Concern. “Despite being the one placed at risk, I am the one being punished. I have been made to feel like a criminal.”

Consequently, the nurse is seeking legal redress with the help of the Christian Legal Centre, which seeks to safeguard the freedom of Christians in a continent that is rapidly descending into tyranny. The advocacy group demands an apology and immediate reinstatement of Jennifer without endless investigations, whose outcome is usually hard to guess in cases like these.

“The NHS has become so entrenched in transgender ideology that it is willing to side with a man brought in from prison in chains —who was openly shouting racist abuse—over a Christian nurse,” noted Christian Legal Centre chief executive Andrea Williams.

Meanwhile, the Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has thrown his weight behind her and decried her treatment for stating obvious biological facts. UK voters should restore common sense to the political class by voting out woke parliamentarians who pass these abhorrent laws.

“She has my full support. It’s time the Government pulls its finger out and intervenes to make it clear no one should be punished at work for stating biological reality to paedophiles,” Badenoch said.

Here in the United States, several teachers have also lost their jobs after refusing to use students’ pronouns. Early this year, Jackson Local School District paid a Christian teacher $450,000 to settle a wrongful termination lawsuit stemming from her refusal to use the preferred pronouns of two self-declared transgender students. Jasmine Crockett Schooled Over Woke Admiral Chatfield’s Firing After “Ego” Comments

On April 8, Sean Parnell, the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman, announced that SecDef Pete Hegseth had removed U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield as the U.S. representative to NATO’s Military Committee.

Parnell explained that her removal was due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead but thanked her for many years of service.

“Secretary Hegseth has removed U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield from her position as U.S. representative to NATO’s military committee due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead. The Defense Department is grateful for her many years of military service.”

Texas Democrat congresswoman Jasmine Crockett attempted to spin the narrative, only to end up potentially justifying her termination. The far-left squad member claimed that Chatfield was removed for refusing to hang President Trump’s and Hegseth’s portraits. 

“They fired Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield—not because she couldn’t do the job, but because she wouldn’t hang up pictures of Trump and Hegseth. This ain’t about merit—it’s about ego.”

However, the Pentagon Spokesman did not hesitate to school her about the military’s code of conduct. Unlike the rudderless, leaderless, and lawless Democratic Party, the military has a strict policy on insubordination and refusal to follow lawful orders.

“Congresswoman, I realize this may be a foreign concept to you but here at the DoD if you disrespect the chain of command & don’t do your job, you will be replaced. Period.”

By virtue of Trump being elected as President, who is also the Commander in Chief, and Hegseth being confirmed by Congress as the Secretary of Defense, they both have the authority to issue non-negotiable orders. If Chatfield refused to hang the portraits as ordered, it surely does not make sense for her to continue serving an institution whose leaders she does not recognize. 

While she may not approve of what Trump and Hegseth are doing with the military, she is obligated to obey lawful orders regardless of personal political beliefs. The military cannot tolerate rebellious officials as that undermines its readiness and warfighting capabilities, which Trump and Hegseth promised to restore. 

Meanwhile, Chatfield’s firing might be related to the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to de-Wokify the military. The president had promised to remove woke officials from top military positions, and Chatfield was likely hired under Biden’s DEI policies and was advocating for the same. 

“I want to see members of this team offer each other respect for differences, for diversity, for the dialogue from which ideas and collaboration emerge,” Chatfield said in 2019. 

The admiral was also the first female president of the Naval War College, which she joined in 2019, and she rose through the ranks rather too quickly. Her continued presence in the military was likely a relic of a bygone woke era.

Chatfield’s removal is the third seemingly woke-related termination of female officers. Earlier, Trump had fired Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti and Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. C.Q. Brown.
