Older Voters Most Likely To Be Democrat While GOP Gains Young Adults, Poll Finds

The GOP has long unfairly been stereotyped as a party for old white men by its critics.

Long-standing beliefs typically portray younger voters as more liberal compared to their parents, with conservatism rising among older age groups. However, a New York Times/Siena poll found that nothing could be further from the truth.

A poll of 1,374 respondents found a roughly equal split among Republican, Democrat and independent voters with approximately 30% in each category.

37% of women are registered Democrat compared to just 21% of men, according to the poll. 35% of male respondents identified as Republican (29% for women) while men were also more likely to be independent voters by a nine percentage point split.

And, most surprising of all, as Michael Tracey notes, is that the demographic that now identifies most with Democrats are voters age 65+ (with only 37% identifying with Democrats), while the demo that identifies least with Democrats is voters age 18-29 (of which only 22% identify with Democrats).

Meanwhile, Republicans get an identical 37% support from the age 65+ demographic, and 26% support in the 18-29 demo.

Whenit comes to voter enthusiasm, those age 65+ were also the most enthusiastic about the upcoming election, correlating with their support for Donald Trump. While party identification is now identical for both parties in the 65+ demo, Trump is pulling more support overall than Harris.

Younger voters have historically supporter Democrats, and this polling doesn’t necessarily mean that’s going to change in 2024, because a large share of the 18-29 demo is likely unaffiliated but left-leaning.

That being said, Harris is on track to receive significantly less support from the younger demo that Biden. When looking at voters under age 35, Biden won that demo by 21-points – but polling right after Harris was made nominee showed she’d only win that demo by 9 points. Bear in mind the “honeymoon effect” was live during that poll.

Many on social media were surprised by the Democrats’ continued support among older voters.

Others noted the trend among younger voters.

Kamala Harris’ New Policy Page Was Quite Literally Copied And Pasted From Joe Biden’s Campaign

Kamala Harris’ long-awaited “issues” page on her campaign website was copied and pasted from Joe Biden’s re-election campaign platform, it has been discovered, proving that she’s officially stealing from with the Trump and Biden campaigns.

The Harris campaign launched the page after months of speculation over what her policy platform entailed, and repeated criticism from Donald Trump and other conservatives. In addition to repeated false claims about Trump’s association with Project 2025, the page pledges “A New Way Forward” focusing on the economy, civil liberties and justice.

However, when the new page was shared among Democratic circles, many noticed a glaring issue; it had been directly copied from President Biden’s shelved campaign.

“Join our campaign to re-elect Joe Biden today,” read the meta description for those sent a link to the website.

If you searched for Harris’ issues page on Google, the “re-elect Joe Biden today!” line is repeated in the description.

The Vice President faces an uphill struggle to differentiate herself from a president whose chances of re-election were so slim that his own party ousted him before it was too late. A fresh face has brought renewed hope for the Democrats, but governance over giggling will triumph in any election. If she cannot present herself as a beacon of change from the previous four years, her tenure in office will come to an end on January 20, 2025.

There is, of course, another problem for Harris. The fact that she has finally released a policy platform is not enough for many moderates; if her pledges lack substance, they are unlikely to carry her to the White House.

Before the Harris campaign finally added an issues page to their website, the website included more pronouns than policies.

Video Shows Moment Sylacauga City Council Meeting Ends In Chaos As Furious Residents Demand Answers To Influx Of Haitian Migrants

A city council meeting ended in chaos after members of the public demanded answers to a recent influx of Haitian migrants.

Residents of Sylacauga, AL, have reportedly witnessed more than 50 migrants being bussed into the city in recent weeks. However, efforts to get to the bottom of the issue have been difficult with the governor’s office claiming it has not received any information from the federal government.

On Thursday, September 5, concerned residents asked questions of the five councilmembers on Sylacauga City Council. Initial concerns were brushed aside by council president Tiffany Nix who said, “I’m going to welcome anybody to Sylacauga that wants to come to Sylacauga.”

A second resident, David Phillips, then approached the podium and called the attitude of the council “entirely unacceptable”.

“Do we know where the individuals we’re discussing are coming from?” he asked. “Where’s their point of origin? Because you’re treating them like lawful U.S. citizens, which they are not.”

“OK, so I’m going to cut it off,” Nix responded. “Because we’ve had three people come up. I’m going to cut it off because we have no reason to launch an investigation or to treat people differently because of how they look. There is no reason for it.”

As the meeting was adjourned, furious residents lambasted the council, many of whom yelled, “This is our city!” after they were denied the right to speak.

Many on social media were critical of the council’s response to public concerns.

There was also an influx of memes in response to the meeting.

LA Times Columnist Blames GOP For California’s Problems

A column in the Los Angeles Times which sought to blame California’s recurring problems on the Republican Party was subject to widespread ridicule – which is truly the only response.

Penned by long-term LA Times columnist Steve Lopez, the article titled, “They say Democrats are to blame for all California’s problems. But GOP is MIA [Missing in Action]” cited the Republicans’ poor showing in the Golden State as a contributing factor to ongoing issues.

After a short history lesson from the California native, Lopez claims the decades-long homelessness crisis dating back to Ronald Reagan’s Governorship of the state (it doesn’t). Acknowledging that the Democrats have effectively controlled the state since the 1990s (actor Arnold Schwarzenegger being the last Republican to hold a statewide office in January 2011), Lopez proceeds to blame the GOP for allowing the Democrats into power.

“None of them [GOP candidates] has offered winning solutions to deep-seated problems, and it might be too late for a party resurgence because as the electorate has grown more diverse, GOP voter registration has dwindled to roughly 25%,” writes Lopez. “You can’t blame Democrats for that.”

So let’s try to follow this. Lopez is a leftist doesn’t like Republicans, but blames them for not having enough power to enact their policies to fix things… which Lopez opposes and doesn’t actually think will fix anything. And Lopez himself will continue voting Democrat, further denying Republicans and additional control in California, which further implodes his own arguments.

It’s an interesting perspective, but one which seems desperate to blame the GOP. While Proposition 187 may have turned California’s Latino and Asian American population against the Republican Party, the Democrats have enjoyed some 30 years to address the issues within the state which only seem to be getting worse rather than better.

Kamala Harris Fan Says Anyone Endorsed by Russia Shouldn’t Be Elected… Less Than One Day Before Putin Endorses Harris

Vladimir Putin’s endorsement of Kamala Harris dominated social media on Thursday, September 5.

Speaking on the state-owned Russia Today, the Russian President said Joe Biden had “recommended all his supporters support Mrs. Harris” adding that “she laughs so expressively and infectiously that it means that everything is fine with her.”

Whether it was a genuine endorsement, sarcasm, or even a ploy to encourage fearful moderates towards Donald Trump is subject to debate. Putin indicated that he believes Harris wouldn’t pass additional sanctions against Russia, unlike Trump, under whom Russia never encroached on other territory (unlike under Barack Obama and Biden). Nevertheless, Putin’s support for the Democrat was particularly ironic after years of Russian collusion claims by the party.

In a dramatic sense of irony, staunch Harris-supporter and comedian Jay Black made a comment hours before Putin’s endorsement.

“I’ll say this slowly so MAGA can understand it: If. Russia. Wants. Your. Candidate. To. Be. Elected. Then. He. Shouldn’t. Be. Elected [sic],” he wrote on Wednesday.

The following day, conservatives flocked to Black’s post to ridicule his comments.

Another commentor noted that Putin had previously expressed support for Biden long before his decision to stand down.

Bidenomics Led To Over 1.3 Million Native-Born Americans Losing Their Jobs In August

More than 1.3 million native-born Americans lost a job in August as all net job growth continues going to non-citizens.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics was charted by the financial publication Zero Hedge showing a loss of 1.325 million jobs for native-born Americans in August alone. By contrast, the number of foreign-born workers increased by 635,000 during the same period.

This continues a six year trend of native-born Americans losing jobs and only non-citizens gaining them.

And the figures mark an accelerating trend under the Biden-Harris administration. Those from overseas have benefitted from a more relaxed approach to immigration under the current government with the gap between native and foreign-born job creation widening by the month, as can be seen in the graphs below.

An interesting aspect of the first graph is how the two statistics compared under Joe Biden’s Presidency and that of Donald Trump’s. While relative job creation between the native vs. foreign born groups was largely similar under the previous administration, the disparity exploded once Biden took office in January 2021. As such, due to how lopsided the Biden so-called economic recovery has been, it’s now the case that since July 2018, there have been zero jobs created for native born Americans.

It’s concerning news for millions of unemployed Americans. Not only are more jobs going towards immigrants, but the number of full-time jobs has decreased by more than 1.6 million over the past year, therefore making it harder for millions to earn a survivable living.

Social media users could only point fingers at the administration which has overseen the widening discrepancies.

Others said that the majority of employment opportunities were going to certain groups.

Minnesota Sen. Posts Photo Of Tim Walz Outside Bakery His Lockdown Policies Forced Close

Social media has erupted after a photo of Tim Walz recirculated in which he was pictured outside a bakery which was forced to close during Minnesota’s COVID-19 lockdowns.

Following Walz’s visit to a Georgia bakery, Minnesota Sen. Tina Smith shared a post of herself and Walz outside Daube’s Cakes in Rochester from early 2020. “Can confirm,” wrote Smith in response to a Walz quote in a Fox 9 article which he said he had “no problem” picking out donuts.

There was just one little problem in them sharing that old photo.

Social media sleuths were quick to note that the bakery was forced to close after 32 years of operation in June 2020. At the time, Gov. Walz mandated draconian lockdown regulations on business across the state amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Worse still, it’s not the first time either Sen. Smith or Gov. Walz have made such an insensitive error. In 2022, Walz wished Smith a happy birthday by posting the same image years after Daube’s had closed.

Several social media users were disgusted by the naivety.

Others noted that Sen. Smith had tried to crop the bakery’s signage out of the image.

Liz Cheney Once Described Kamala Harris As A “Radical Liberal”

Former RINO Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s prior comments about Kamala Harris have resurfaced after she endorsed Kamala Harris for President.

Cheney, the eldest daughter of a man best known for accidentally shooting someone in a hunting accident, announced her support for Harris at an event in North Carolina.

“As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris,” she told attendees at Duke University.

Despite a long-standing detest for the former president, Cheney has not traditionally expressed fond feelings for his Democratic rival either. Minutes after her announcement, the Trump campaign shared a clip from 2020 in which Cheney described Harris as “to the left of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren” and a “radical liberal”.

Meanwhile on social media, Cheney wrote on what was then-Twitter on August 11, 2020. “Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who would raise taxes, take away guns and health insurance, and explode the size and power of the federal government. She wants to recreate America in the image of what’s happening on the streets of Portland & Seattle. We won’t give her the chance.”

Many on social media noted Cheney’s humiliating primary defeat to a Trump-backed challenger in 2022 may have been a reason for her leftward rhetorical switch.

Others noted a correlation between Cheney’s decision and globalism.

Donald Trump To Create Government Efficiency Commission With Elon Musk If Elected

Donald Trump plans to create a government efficiency commission headed by Elon Musk he says will “eliminate fraud and improper payments” within six months of its formation if he wins the election on November 5.

Speaking at the New York Economic Club, Trump pledged to “create a government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms” following a suggestion by the X and Tesla owner.

“Fraud and improper payments alone cost taxpayers an estimated hundreds of billions of dollars,” Trump added. “As the first order of business, this commission will develop an action plan to totally eliminate fraud and improper payments within six months.”

Although the idea has been rumored for weeks, this announcement marks the first time Trump has publicly expressed support for the idea.

Reacting to the news, Musk, who endorsed the former president immediately after the assassination attempt in Butler, said, “I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises. No pay, no title, no recognition is needed.”

Both Musk and Trump’s popularity on X paved the way for widespread support on the social media platform.

Others offered predictions for Musk within Trump’s administration.

Barack Obama’s Brother Malik Endorses Trump 2024

Malik Obama, the half-brother of former president Barack, has announced his support for Donald Trump.

The Kenyan national announced his support for the Republican nominee via X on Wednesday, September 4.

Malik has long been a supporter of Trump having endorsed him the previous two presidential elections. On Wednesday, he simply posted, “I am Malik Obama. I’m a registered Republican and I’m voting for President Donald Trump.”

Malik joins a growing number of Democratic families endorsing the former president. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly endorsed Trump at the end of August, while numerous family members of vice presidential candidate Tim Walz also expressed support for Trump.

Malik first announced Trump back in 2016 when he was still on the campaign trail, citing his disappointment in his half-brother.

Conservatives on social media held praise for Malik Obama.
