Hochul and Mamdani Funnel Nearly Half a Million Dollars Into Expanding NYC Abortion Network [WATCH]

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday that New York City and New York State will provide additional funding to expand the New York City Abortion Access Hub, a program that connects callers with abortion providers and related support services, as reported by Fox News.

According to press releases issued by the mayor’s office and the governor’s office, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York State Department of Health will provide a combined $495,000 to expand the program’s referral network.

The announcement states that the additional funding will allow the Abortion Access Hub to broaden its network of abortion providers and organizations beyond New York City’s five boroughs.

“The expansion will allow the Hub to connect callers with a broader network of abortion providers and support organizations outside the five boroughs, helping more people access reproductive health care regardless of where they live,” the press releases stated.

The state funding is intended to strengthen coordination between the Hub and providers located outside New York City, as well as organizations that assist patients with travel, lodging, and financial support associated with obtaining abortion services.

The two press releases differed on the amount of New York State’s annual contribution. The city’s announcement listed the state’s annual investment as $220,000, while the governor’s office stated the amount was $250,000. According to the report, Fox News Digital contacted both offices seeking clarification regarding the discrepancy.

The funding announcement coincided with the fourth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

The Court’s opinion stated, “The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”

According to the press releases, the New York City Abortion Access Hub was created following the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

The confidential hotline connects callers with abortion providers and offers assistance with insurance enrollment, transportation, lodging, and financial support.

Officials said that since the program launched, the Hub has answered more than 10,400 phone calls and nearly 5,000 live chat messages.

They also reported that more than half of callers sought medication abortion services, while approximately one-quarter of calls originated from outside New York State.

Mamdani said the expanded funding reflects New York’s continued support for abortion access.

“Four years ago, the disastrous Dobbs decision stripped away a fundamental right and put reproductive health care out of reach for millions of Americans across this country,” Mamdani said in a statement.

“Since then, New York has led the fight to protect abortion care. On this anniversary, we are expanding the successful Abortion Access Hub so that anyone seeking care can more easily find it. Together with New York State, we are strengthening a lifeline that connects people to abortion care, medication, transportation, lodging, and support. Because abortion is health care. And health care is a human right.”

Hochul also marked the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision while announcing the funding.

“As we commemorate four years since the Supreme Court’s disastrous Dobbs decision, New York is sending a clear message to the rest of the country: We’re not going to let Washington Republicans take us backwards,” Hochul said.

“Thanks to our support, we are expanding the reach of this vital resource so more people have access to safe reproductive health care.”

The funding will be administered through New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York State Department of Health as the Abortion Access Hub expands its referral network and support services for callers seeking abortion care.

Shark Attack Survivor Awakens After Ten Days in Coma and Shares Emotional First Words [WATCH]

A woman who spent 10 days in an induced coma after a shark attack at a Sydney, Australia, beach has spoken to her family for the first time since the incident, according to an update shared by her brother, as reported by Fox News.

Leah Stewart regained consciousness Tuesday after doctors reduced her sedation while she continued recovering in the intensive care unit.

According to a message posted on a fundraising page by her brother, her first words to her mother and partner were, “I love you.”

The update marked a significant milestone in Stewart’s recovery after she underwent multiple surgeries following the June 13 attack at Coogee Beach, a popular beach in Sydney.

“After a week of life-support and repeat[ed] surgeries, doctors were able to extubate Leah and reduce her level of sedation to bring her out of the induced coma for a short period of time,” Stewart’s brother wrote.

“This allowed Leah to share her first words, ‘I love you,’ with her Mum and partner Fernando, who have been by her side in ICU since the incident.”

He also said Stewart’s thoughts quickly turned to her young daughter.

“Her first thoughts were with her daughter August,” he wrote, adding that she immediately asked whether her daughter was OK.

Stewart, a teacher and mother in her mid-30s, remains in critical care as she continues recovering from the injuries she suffered during the attack.

According to the fundraising update, she has undergone five surgeries since arriving at the hospital, including the amputation of one arm.

Emergency responders airlifted Stewart to the hospital in critical condition after the attack occurred on the morning of June 13.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Stewart had been swimming near the shoreline at Coogee Beach while a friend watched her daughter from the beach when the attack occurred.

Her brother described her progress as encouraging and said her recovery has advanced more quickly than the family had expected.

“This is a lot faster than anyone expected, and for us this feels like a miracle and is everything so many of us have hoped and prayed for over the past week,” he wrote.

Although Stewart has regained consciousness and communicated with family members, her recovery remains ongoing.

“Leah has a long road ahead and still remains in critical care, but this is such a positive first step and gives us hope for Leah’s long-term recovery,” her brother added.

Medical staff continues to monitor Stewart in intensive care while she recovers from the surgeries and begins rehabilitation.

The attack has drawn renewed attention to a series of fatal shark attacks that have occurred in Australia in recent months.

According to the report, three men have been killed in shark attacks in Australia since May. Earlier this year, a 12-year-old boy was also killed in a shark attack in Sydney Harbour in January.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the shark involved in Stewart’s attack.

Family members have continued providing updates through the fundraising page while thanking supporters for their messages and encouragement as Stewart remains hospitalized.

Her recovery continues under the care of medical teams in Sydney, with relatives expressing hope that her ability to speak to loved ones marks another positive step in her rehabilitation following the June 13 incident.

Florida GOP Candidate Says Socialist Victories Will Drive More People Out of New York [WATCH]

Florida Republican congressional candidate Scott Singer said he believes the outcome of New York City’s Democratic primary elections could contribute to additional residents and businesses relocating from New York, citing concerns about the growing influence of socialist-backed candidates within the Democratic Party, as reported by Fox News.

Singer, the former mayor of Boca Raton, is running for Congress in Florida’s 25th Congressional District. In an interview with Fox News Digital, he discussed the results of Tuesday’s primaries and their potential political and economic impact.

“It should be concerning for all Americans because you had the Democratic Party continuing to be co-opted by a fringe socialist base, which is now not the fringe,” Singer said.

“When you have two Democratic members of the House taken out by candidates who say things like they want to abolish ICE, abolish all prisons, and end private healthcare, it shows that the Democratic Party in New York and increasingly in America is not only not our parents’ Democratic Party, it’s not the Democratic Party of just a year ago. And this radical influence is going to continue to send shock waves that I hope will wake people up to understand where we are as a nation and where that party is.”

The comments followed Democratic primary victories by three congressional candidates endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Two of those candidates also received endorsements from the Democratic Socialists of America.

The election results were widely viewed as another indication of the growing influence of progressive and democratic socialist candidates within New York City politics.

One of the closely watched races featured Brad Lander defeating Rep. Dan Goldman in a Democratic primary contest. According to the report, disagreements over Israel became a recurring issue during the campaign.

Singer also expressed concern about antisemitism in New York City.

“I think antisemitism is raging in the Democratic Party; it’s alarmingly raging in New York City,” he said.

“Congressman Goldman’s office was vandalized three days ago. You had him shut out of a restaurant because of the fact that he was Jewish, and he’s a congressman. If this is happening on everyday streets in New York, it’s bearing more and more similarities to Germany in the 1930s. God help us if we get there, but we have to understand what people want to do and what’s winning in the Democratic Party right now.”

Political analysts have suggested the primary results demonstrate continued momentum for the Democratic Party’s progressive wing, while more moderate candidates face increasing challenges in some districts.

Singer argued that the election results reflected a broader ideological shift within the party.

“The far left is trouncing what used to be the moderates in the Democratic Party, and the Democratic moderates are now becoming Republicans,” he said.

“And I think anyone who’s still looking at what this Democratic Party used to be, even a few months ago, has to understand where it’s going. Democratic members of Congress don’t often lose primaries, and two get trounced by far-left radicals who want to end prisons, end ICE, and end private healthcare.”

Singer said he believes the ideological differences between the parties will become a major issue during the general election campaign.

“Everyone needs to take note because when we’re running in November, we have a real choice between people who value our American system, our free markets, opportunities for all, and law and order, and those who want to end prisons.”

Singer has previously said business leaders have contacted him about relocating operations from New York to Florida because of taxes and public policy. Following Tuesday’s primary results, he said he expects that trend to continue.

“We’re going to continue to see people flee New York, and last night’s election should give a lot of people pause because if these Democratic socialists continue to win, not only in New York, but throughout America, we’re not going to recognize the country,” Singer said.

He added that one reason he decided to run for Congress was concern about “radicals influencing our state” as people relocate to Florida from other parts of the country, including New York.

The primary results are expected to remain a focus in the weeks ahead as candidates prepare for the November general election, and both parties assess the implications of the contests for future congressional races.

Supreme Court Delivers Huge Win for Trump in Border Asylum Battle

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday that federal immigration officials may turn away migrants seeking asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border until they have entered the United States, reversing lower court decisions that had reached the opposite conclusion, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

In a 6-3 decision, the Court held that migrants cannot apply for asylum before they have entered the country. The ruling represents a victory for the Trump administration as it continues implementing its border enforcement policies.

Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented from the decision. In an uncommon step, Sotomayor delivered her dissent orally from the bench.

Justice Samuel Alito authored the majority opinion.

Explaining the Court’s reasoning, Alito wrote, “In ordinary speech, no one would say that a person ‘arrives in’ a place—for example, a house, a city, or a country—before the person enters that place.”

He continued, “The context in which the phrase ‘arrives in the United States’ is used in the immigration statutes at issue here supports an ordinary-meaning reading. So does the presumption against extraterritoriality. We therefore reverse.”

The decision centers on the interpretation of federal immigration law governing when an individual is considered to have “arrived in the United States” for purposes of seeking asylum.

The ruling allows immigration officials stationed at ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border to continue turning away asylum seekers who have not yet entered the United States.

According to the decision, federal officials may require migrants to wait outside the country before they become eligible to submit asylum applications.

The Supreme Court’s ruling overturns lower court decisions that had concluded Congress intended to allow migrants approaching official ports of entry to request asylum immediately upon presenting themselves to immigration officials.

According to Politico, the Court approved the continued use of a border “metering” policy that was first developed during the Obama administration and later expanded during President Donald Trump’s first term.

Under that policy, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stationed at bridges and ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border limited the number of asylum seekers processed each day, requiring others to wait outside the United States until additional processing capacity became available.

Supporters of the policy have argued that it helps border officials manage processing capacity and maintain orderly operations at ports of entry.

Opponents have argued that the practice improperly delays access to the asylum process for migrants seeking protection.

Thursday’s ruling resolves the legal dispute in favor of the federal government’s interpretation of the immigration statutes governing asylum eligibility at the border.

The 6-3 split reflected the Court’s ideological divisions, with the six-member majority concluding that the statutory language supports requiring physical entry into the United States before an asylum claim may be filed. The three dissenting justices disagreed with that interpretation.

The decision is expected to affect immigration processing at ports of entry along the southern border by allowing Customs and Border Protection officials to continue implementing the metering policy while asylum claims remain subject to the Court’s interpretation of federal immigration law.

Venezuela Shattered by Century’s Strongest Quakes as Trump Promises Swift American Aid [WATCH]

Venezuela was struck Wednesday afternoon by the strongest earthquakes to hit the country in more than a century, causing widespread destruction, significant casualties, and a large-scale emergency response across several states, as reported by The New York Post.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck approximately 100 miles west of Caracas. Just 39 seconds later, a second, larger magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the region.

The USGS warned that “High casualties and extensive damage are probable, and the disaster is likely widespread,” estimating the death toll could ultimately reach between 10,000 and 100,000 people.

As of early Thursday, acting President Delcy Rodriguez said at least 164 people had been confirmed dead, and nearly 1,000 others had been injured.

Videos shared on social media showed residents running from buildings as the earthquakes struck. Footage from Maiquetia International Airport appeared to show ceiling panels collapsing and electrical sparks inside the terminal.

Other videos showed baseball players and spectators running onto the field during a game in Caracas as the stadium shook.

Emergency crews spent Wednesday evening searching damaged and collapsed buildings while residents looked for missing family members.

Images from Caracas and surrounding areas showed extensive structural damage, with debris covering streets and rescue workers searching through the rubble.

Maria Alejandra, a Caracas resident, described the aftermath.

“When we went downstairs, the scene was like a horror movie,” she said.

“We had to climb over the rubble and everything. The building superintendent with the baby and all the neighbors coming down. But from that building, I only saw that one family got out.”

Another resident, Martha Añez, told CNN she called for help after becoming trapped.

“I leaned out onto the balcony, screaming, ‘We’re trapped! We need help! Please, someone, come!’”

She said the two earthquakes occurred so closely together that “it felt endless.”

Astrid Ramirez, a 41-year-old publicist in western Caracas, said the shaking quickly prompted residents to evacuate.

“As soon as it started, we began hearing people screaming,” Ramirez said. “Everyone was running down the stairs.”

The earthquakes occurred while many Venezuelans were observing Battle of Carabobo Day, a national holiday commemorating the country’s 1821 victory that helped secure independence from Spain.

Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said several states experienced strong shaking and urged residents to follow emergency guidance.

“We understand that some people may be desperate, but we are acting according to protocols to activate aid and rescue efforts to help those who need it most,” Cabello said on state television.

“Be very careful with children and the elderly; call each other and check that no one has been harmed.”

President Donald Trump said Wednesday evening that the United States was prepared to assist Venezuela’s recovery efforts.

“The two major earthquakes that just hit the great people of Venezuela are both massive in scale and have left a devastating number of deaths,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“The U.S.A. stands ready, willing, and able to help! I have instructed all agencies of our government to get ready to move quickly. We will be there for our new and great friends. Early reports are not good!!! President DJT.”

Rodriguez thanked Trump and the United States for the offer of assistance.

She said the United States had been “in constant contact with the Venezuelan authorities, providing support and solidarity to the people of Venezuela in the face of the tragedy that grips us.”

“Venezuela will never forget the hand extended to our people in these hard hours.”

The report noted that in January, U.S. forces captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores de Maduro, who are being held in federal custody in the United States.

A statement posted on Maduro’s official Telegram channel urged national unity.

“Today, there is only one message: maximum unity, maximum solidarity, and maximum action.”

“Let no one be left alone, let each community take care of their children, their grandparents, their sick.”

“Venezuela has faced great trials, and we will come out of this one strong too, with faith, discipline, and solidarity.”

Following the earthquakes, the U.S. Tsunami Warning System briefly issued tsunami warnings for Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands before canceling them about an hour later.

Venezuela lies along the boundary between the Caribbean Plate and the South American Plate, one of the region’s most active seismic zones.

According to the USGS, an earthquake in March 1812 destroyed much of Mérida and Caracas and killed approximately 30,000 people.

Donald Trump Turns Senate Meltdown Into Stunning Win On Iran Negotiations [WATCH]

The Senate voted Wednesday to reject a Democratic-backed effort to limit President Donald Trump’s war powers related to Iran, handing the administration a legislative victory as U.S. and Iranian officials continue negotiations aimed at reaching a longer-term peace agreement, as reported by Fox News.

The vote came during the Senate’s final session before lawmakers departed Washington, D.C., for a recess of more than two weeks.

Democrats had sought approval of a war powers resolution introduced by Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., the same measure that passed the Senate just over a month earlier after two Republican senators were absent.

Earlier Wednesday, President Trump and Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., reportedly clashed during a closed-door Senate meeting over Iran policy and the administration’s communication with lawmakers.

The meeting had been convened to discuss the president’s Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.

According to the report, Trump argued that the earlier passage of Kaine’s resolution had weakened the administration’s negotiating position with Iran.

Following additional meetings at the White House, Cassidy and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., changed their positions on the latest resolution.

Paul ultimately voted “present,” while Cassidy supported the administration’s position, helping Republicans defeat the measure.

After the vote, Cassidy credited administration officials for addressing his concerns.

“I want to thank Vice President [JD] Vance and Special Envoy [Steve] Witkoff for the thorough briefing this afternoon on Iran,” Cassidy wrote on X.

“I appreciate the quick invitation to the White House to address many of my concerns.”

Paul said his longstanding views regarding executive authority had not changed, but that he considered the president’s request while casting his vote.

“My opinion on the debate over war and executive power has not changed, and I have voted that way several times,” Paul wrote on X.

“But since hostilities seem to be over and the President asked me to give consideration to his negotiating position, I will do so,” he continued.

“My vote of present is a way to give the President more space and leverage to negotiate a lasting peace.”

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., who has supported war powers resolutions, said after the vote that “this is a different moment,” while cautioning that the ceasefire appeared to be “precarious right now.”

Asked whether Trump’s argument about preserving leverage with Iran influenced Republicans, Murphy responded:

“The Iranians don’t — you know, all they have to do is read a poll and find out that people in this country don’t support the war. They didn’t support the war.”

The vote marked a victory for Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., and Republican leadership, who worked to secure support for the administration’s position after weeks of debate over Iran policy.

As the vote concluded, Thune and Barrasso met with Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, before calling Trump to share the outcome.

Trump responded on Truth Social by writing, “Wow! The Senate just changed its vote on Iran from 50-48 against to 50-47 for. Rand Paul and Bill Cassidy changed. Thank you to Leader John Thune, Lindsey Graham, Bernie Moreno, and all. This vote puts Iran on notice!”

The vote also occurred as Senate Republicans continue working on the SAVE Act and amid public discussion about Trump’s relationship with Thune.

Moreno dismissed speculation about divisions within Republican leadership.

“There’s not a single solitary Senator running for office that says leader Thune should be replaced, not one, even non-incumbents,” Moreno said.

He added, “What today showed is that President Trump has a kind of relationship with John Thune where he says, ‘Hey, let me talk to the guys,’ understand the situation. As much as Cassidy and Trump got into it, it was because they’re both passionate, they’re both smart people.”

Moreno concluded, “And now, we’ve most importantly sent the Iranians a message that President Trump has the full backing of the Congress, and that was an incredibly important day. That’s a huge victory for us.”

President Trump Declares America Back in Fiery 250th Celebration Kickoff [WATCH]

President Donald Trump marked the launch of the America250 celebration on Wednesday by declaring that the United States has entered a new era as the nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, as reported by Townhall.

Speaking during the Great American State Fair kickoff event, Trump highlighted what he described as a resurgence in America’s standing on the world stage while encouraging Americans to look ahead to the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.

“Tonight, as we stand on the edge of our 250th year of independence, I am thrilled to declare that America is back.”

The president said the United States has regained international respect compared with previous years.

“Now we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world who are respected by everybody. Nobody’s laughing at us anymore,” he said.

Trump continued by contrasting the country’s current position with where he believes it stood two years earlier.

“Two years ago, they were laughing. Now we’re the most respected anywhere. Think of it, anywhere in the world, where were we two years ago? We were respected. We were a joke. We’re not a joke anymore,” the president said.

Throughout his remarks, Trump repeatedly emphasized what he described as a period of renewed optimism and opportunity for the country.

“We’re in the golden age. There’s never been an age like this,” Trump said before urging Americans to “raise our expectations of what America can be.”

He also told the audience, “The best is yet to come.”

Looking back on the nation’s history, Trump praised the generations of Americans who helped establish and preserve the United States over nearly two and a half centuries.

“This exceptional nation was forged, worn, by some of the bravest, toughest, most extraordinary people ever to stride the Earth,” he said.

The Great American State Fair kickoff served as the opening event for the nationwide America250 celebration leading up to the country’s 250th birthday.

The program featured patriotic performances from musicians and military ensembles, along with remarks from members of the president’s Cabinet.

Among the featured performers were Lee Greenwood, Alexis Wilkins, Christopher Macchio, and several military music organizations, including “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.

Several administration officials also addressed attendees during the celebration. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy each delivered remarks as part of the event.

Duffy thanked the performers and military musicians during his speech and referenced artists who had reportedly canceled appearances.

“To start this off, I think we have to give a big round of applause for our military band and singers — way better than those libtards that canceled on us!” Duffy said.

The America250 initiative is designed to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary with events taking place across the country in the months leading up to Independence Day in 2026.

Wednesday’s kickoff celebrated the beginning of those festivities and featured patriotic music, speeches from administration officials, and tributes to the nation’s history and military.

Trump used the occasion to frame the anniversary as both a celebration of the country’s past and an opportunity to look toward its future, repeatedly emphasizing confidence in America’s direction while encouraging Americans to participate in the historic milestone over the coming year.

One Question Shattered the Democrats’ Phony Defense of Socialism [WATCH]

The Democratic Party is confronting renewed debate over the role of socialism within its ranks following recent primary elections in New York City and a televised interview in which a Democratic senator declined to identify a successful example of socialism when asked, as reported by PJ Media.

Political observers have pointed to a growing divide between establishment Democrats and candidates aligned with democratic socialist policies, particularly after three socialist candidates backed by Zohran Mamdani defeated establishment Democrats in New York City primaries.

The primary results also drew attention to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., who won his own primary but was met by socialist-aligned activists chanting, “You’re next!” after his victory.

The developments come as polling has suggested some voters believe the Democratic Party has shifted further to the left in recent years.

A CNN survey conducted in February found that the percentage of Americans who believe the Democratic Party has become too liberal reached its highest level recorded by the poll.

During CNN’s discussion of the survey, senior data analyst Harry Enten said, “The Democrats are moving to the left, the far left is gaining power, and there could be some electoral repercussions because what we see right now is voters — the clear majority — say that they are too liberal.”

The debate received additional attention during a CNBC interview with Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester, D-Del., when anchor Joe Kernen asked her to identify a place where socialism had been successful.

Kernen asked the senator to name “one place where it has been beneficial.”

Rather than answering directly, Rochester responded, “Is that another question, or is that for the next interview?”

Kernen replied that the question was “definitely for you” and again asked for “one place where it has been beneficial.”

Rochester again declined to provide an example, responding, “Well, when you have me come back on, we can talk about all the races.”

As the interview concluded, Kernen told the senator, “Get your answer ready.”

The exchange quickly circulated on social media, with political commentators from both parties weighing in on what the interview revealed about the Democratic Party’s messaging on socialism.

The discussion follows a series of political developments in which candidates identifying with democratic socialist policies have gained greater visibility within Democratic politics.

Their victories in local and state elections have prompted renewed questions about the direction of the party and how Democratic leaders plan to address differing views within their coalition.

The New York City primaries highlighted those tensions as socialist-backed candidates defeated several establishment Democrats, underscoring the growing influence of the party’s progressive wing.

Jeffries’ post-election encounter with activists also reflected those divisions, as demonstrators directed chants of “You’re next!” toward the House Democratic leader despite his own primary victory.

The issue has become part of a broader national discussion over how Democrats should position themselves heading into future elections.

While progressive activists have continued advocating for policies associated with democratic socialism, other Democrats have emphasized more moderate approaches in an effort to appeal to a broader electorate.

The February CNN polling cited during the debate has been referenced by analysts examining voter perceptions of the party’s ideological direction.

Whether the Democratic Party embraces its progressive wing more fully or attempts to appeal to moderate voters is expected to remain a key political question as candidates prepare for upcoming election cycles.

The recent New York primary results, the exchange between Rochester and Kernen, and the ongoing public debate over socialism have all added to that discussion.

Radical Brooklyn Coffee Shop Owner Calls Israel ‘Nazi Germany,’ Bans Congressman Dan Goldman Publicly

The owner of a Brooklyn coffee shop that recently sparked controversy by publicly banning a pro-Israel member of Congress has come under renewed scrutiny over a series of social media posts criticizing Israel, including comments comparing the Jewish state to Nazi Germany and accusing it of genocide, as reported by The New York Post.

Parviz Mukhamadkulov, founder of Poetica Coffee in Park Slope, has repeatedly commented on LinkedIn posts discussing Israel, the war against Hamas, and the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks.

His online activity includes statements defending Hamas-related narratives, criticizing Israel’s military campaign, and attacking Israeli leaders.

In one response to a video posted by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Mukhamadkulov wrote:

“Israel is the Nazi Germany of current time.”

His comments also extended to discussions about the Holocaust. Responding to a photograph of an emaciated young girl wearing an Auschwitz prisoner uniform shortly before she was executed, Mukhamadkulov wrote:

“This is a horrible story. That is why it’s important we talk against the genocide Israel is committing against Palestinians.”

In another exchange beneath a post by Guterres, Mukhamadkulov argued that Israel’s military campaign was unrelated to recovering hostages or protecting its citizens.

“Thinking Israel does anything remotely humane at this point is naive. It was never about hostages or about security. The IDF and the Israeli government depends on conflict to stay in power.”

Mukhamadkulov also posted comments accusing Israel of deliberately targeting children during its war against Hamas.

“Explain to me why Israel is killing babies?” he wrote in response to a video shared by TheJewishVoice founder David BenHooren.

The video included remarks from Hamas leader Khaled Mashal stating, “After October 7th, the Palestinian state will extend from the river to the sea.”

According to the Anti-Defamation League, the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is an antisemitic slogan and rallying cry used by Hamas supporters who seek Israel’s destruction through violent means.

The renewed attention follows an incident involving Poetica Coffee and Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y. Last week, Goldman stopped by the Park Slope coffee shop for a cup of coffee.

Afterward, the business publicly announced on Facebook that he would no longer be welcome because of his support for Israel.

The shop wrote:

“Hey Congressman Dan Goldman, we see that you stopped by our shop today for a coffee. Do you see how it doesn’t taste like genocide juice? Or are you still having a hard time telling the difference?”

The public message quickly spread online, drawing criticism from supporters of Israel and prompting federal attention.

Following the coffee shop’s decision to deny Goldman future service based on his support for Israel, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division opened an investigation into the matter.

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon said the department considers the incident “potentially illegal” and announced that federal officials would investigate the circumstances surrounding Poetica Coffee’s actions.

Dhillon said the Justice Department will “bring an enforcement action” if the investigation determines one is warranted.

Mukhamadkulov’s past social media activity has since received additional attention as critics point to a pattern of statements attacking Israel and Israeli leadership, including posts referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “war criminal.”

The controversy comes against the backdrop of the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, during which the terror group abducted 251 people and killed more than 1,200 men, women, and children in a surprise assault. Israel subsequently launched military operations against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The Justice Department’s investigation into Poetica Coffee remains ongoing as federal officials examine whether the shop’s public refusal to serve a customer because of his support for Israel violated federal civil rights laws.

Establishment Democrats ‘Get Their Butts Kicked’ as Radical Insurgents Take Over NYC [WATCH]

A series of Democratic primary victories by candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has intensified debate over the direction of the Democratic Party, with CNN political commentator Van Jones describing the results as a major setback for the party’s establishment, as reported by Townhall.

The primary elections resulted in victories for all three congressional candidates endorsed by Mamdani, marking a significant night for the party’s progressive wing and raising questions about the influence of its more traditional leadership.

Among the most closely watched races was New York’s 10th Congressional District, where former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander defeated incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman.

Lander secured nearly 65 percent of the vote, ending Goldman’s bid for another term in Congress.

Goldman, who was first elected in 2022, became nationally known for serving as lead majority counsel during President Donald Trump’s first impeachment inquiry and later as lead counsel to House impeachment managers during the Senate trial.

Following the election results, Van Jones said the Democratic Party was experiencing a growing divide between its longtime leadership and insurgent progressive candidates.

“This is a battle between the establishment and this insurgency. And the roof is collapsing on the Democratic party establishment tonight,” Jones said during CNN’s election coverage.

Republicans also reacted to the election results, arguing the victories reflected a broader ideological shift within the Democratic Party.

National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Marinella issued a statement criticizing the outcome.

“Tonight wasn’t just a bad night for so-called ‘Leader’ Hakeem Jeffries. It was the night the Democrat establishment officially surrendered to Zohran Mamdani and the socialist wing of their party,” Marinella said.

“Every House Democrat, in safe and competitive districts alike, will now answer to the radicals calling the shots. And Americans should be terrified by where the Democrat Party is headed.”

Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin also summarized the night’s results, noting that candidates endorsed by Mamdani prevailed in all three House primaries.

According to Melugin, Darializa Avila Chevalier won the Democratic primary in New York’s 13th Congressional District.

He wrote that Chevalier has advocated abolishing prisons, abolishing ICE, abolishing borders, defunding the police, and has stated that “all deportations are wrong,” including for violent criminals.

Melugin also noted a prior social media post in which Chevalier wrote, “I forgot to get napkins, so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.”

Melugin also highlighted Claire Valdez’s victory in New York’s 7th Congressional District.

According to his summary, Valdez supports granting citizenship and voting rights to illegal immigrants, using taxpayer funds for transgender medical treatments, and eliminating private health insurance.

Brad Lander’s victory in New York’s 10th Congressional District completed what Melugin described as a clean sweep for Mamdani-backed candidates.

Melugin noted that Lander has supported abolishing ICE, forgiving all outstanding federal student loan debt, estimated at nearly $2 trillion, and expanding the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Mamdani gets a clean sweep, a bad night for Hakeem Jeffries, and big questions for where the Democratic Party is heading,” Melugin wrote.

The primary results highlighted growing tensions within the Democratic Party as progressive candidates continue challenging incumbents backed by establishment figures.

Goldman’s defeat was among the night’s highest-profile losses, removing one of Congress’ most prominent anti-Trump Democrats after a single term.

The outcome also places renewed attention on how Democratic leadership will respond as progressive candidates continue gaining ground in primary contests ahead of the general election.
