President Trump Takes On Germany In Bold Fight To Cut Drug Prices For Americans [WATCH]

The Trump administration has launched an investigation into Germany’s pharmaceutical pricing policies, arguing that the country’s pricing system may contribute to higher prescription drug costs for American consumers while affecting U.S. pharmaceutical innovation, as reported by Fox News.

The investigation was announced June 18 by U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer through a Section 301 inquiry into what the administration describes as Germany’s “persistent underpayment for innovative pharmaceutical products.”

The review is expected to continue through the fall, with a public hearing scheduled for Sept. 22.

According to the administration, the investigation will examine whether Germany’s pharmaceutical pricing practices unfairly disadvantage U.S. companies and contribute to higher drug prices in the United States.

The move follows broader efforts by the Trump administration to address prescription drug costs and what it characterizes as imbalances in international pharmaceutical pricing.

Administration officials contend that Germany, along with several other European countries, requires pharmaceutical companies to sell medications at prices below those paid by American consumers.

They argue that this pricing structure shifts a greater share of research and development costs onto U.S. purchasers.

The administration points to pricing data indicating that Americans pay significantly more for certain medications than consumers in Germany.

According to the figures cited by the administration, Americans pay four times more than Germans for the most expensive drugs developed in the United States.

Administration officials also argue that developing new medicines requires substantial investment.

They cite estimates that bringing a new pharmaceutical product to market costs an average of approximately $2.7 billion, with research expenses ultimately recovered through sales.

The administration maintains that if foreign governments negotiate substantially lower prices for medicines developed by American companies, those costs are more heavily borne by U.S. consumers and the domestic market.

The Section 301 investigation will examine Germany’s pharmaceutical reimbursement system and determine whether it constitutes an unreasonable or discriminatory practice affecting U.S. commerce.

If the investigation concludes that Germany’s policies violate U.S. trade standards, the administration could impose tariffs or pursue other trade remedies.

German officials have expressed concern about the investigation, warning that it could co

Hundreds of Rabbis Slam NYC Mayor Mamdani Over Anti-Jewish AIPAC Remarks [WATCH]

More than 700 rabbis have signed a letter calling on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to apologize for comments he made about the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), arguing that his remarks contribute to concerns about antisemitism at a time when incidents targeting Jewish Americans remain a national issue, as reported by Fox News.

The controversy stems from comments Mamdani made during a June 18 campaign rally ahead of New York City’s Democratic primary elections.

During the event, he referred to AIPAC as “monsters” who use “millions in dark money to accomplish a single goal — to preserve their power, so that they can turn us against one another.”

The remarks prompted criticism from Jewish leaders and organizations, including a letter signed by hundreds of rabbis representing congregations with a range of perspectives on Israel, American politics, and the war in Gaza.

The letter states, “By casting pro-Israel civic participation as monstrous, conspiratorial and anti-democratic, Mr. Mamdani has put a target on the backs of American Jews and their allies.”

The rabbis also wrote, “Mr. Mamdani’s words matter because they were spoken by the leader of the city with the largest Jewish population outside Israel. They matter because antisemitism in America is rising.”

The letter described the comments as “beneath the office he holds” and concluded by urging the mayor to apologize, retract the remarks, and affirm that “Jews and pro-Israel Americans are full participants in our democracy.”

It added, “We can debate policy. We can argue about money in politics. We can disagree passionately about Israel and the Middle East. But no elected leader should demonize Jews or those who stand with the Jewish state. Criticizing Israeli policy is not antisemitic. Treating millions of Zionist Jews as morally suspect, politically illegitimate, or less deserving of equal participation in public life is.”

Mamdani addressed the criticism during an appearance on Monday after signing an executive order. In response to questions about the controversy, he defended his remarks.

“We’re talking about a status quo where children are being killed on a daily basis,” Mamdani said.

“And when I am speaking about AIPAC, I’m speaking about an organization that has been supportive of the status quo, that has fought any attempt to actually deliver safety to people, not just in Palestine, but frankly, through much of the region. And it is a status quo for immorality. It is one that I will not accept,” he added.

Mamdani also responded to questions about his use of the word “monsters,” saying he was referencing the writings of Italian philosopher Antonio Gramsci.

“I used the term to describe all those who are preventing the birth of a new world. Not solely AIPAC, but frankly, super PACs at large, who are spending millions of dollars in deceptive and misleading ads that are blanketing the airwaves,” he said.

His office also pointed to remarks he delivered during a May event addressing antisemitism and public safety.

“Jewish New Yorkers have worked to cultivate a city that is safe and open to all,” Mamdani said at that event. “You should be accorded the same security and the same peace of mind.”

He also said New York City would invest $26 million annually to expand hate crime prevention efforts, adding that responding to antisemitism alone is insufficient and that deterrence should also be a priority.

The mayor’s comments also drew criticism from several national Jewish leaders.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., wrote on X, “Swap ‘AIPAC’ for ‘Jews’ and it’s the oldest antisemitic conspiracy theory in the books. That’s not criticizing a lobby. That’s laundering antisemitism from your podium as Mayor of a city with more than a million Jews. This bulls— is dangerous.”

Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt also criticized the remarks.

“This is the kind of bigoted conspiracy mongering that you expect from unhinged streamers or white supremacists. It’s not the language that we should expect from the mayor whose jurisdiction suffers from the highest levels of antisemitism of any city in America,” Greenblatt wrote.

The exchange has intensified debate over political rhetoric, public criticism of pro-Israel advocacy organizations, and concerns surrounding antisemitism as Jewish leaders continue calling for Mamdani to retract his remarks.

AOC Melts Down Over Trump Immigration Wins, Cries ‘Betrayal’ After Supreme Court Ruling [WATCH]

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., criticized President Donald Trump after the Supreme Court issued two rulings that favored the administration’s immigration policies, including a decision allowing the administration to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian and Syrian migrants, as reported by Fox News.

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the Trump administration may end TPS protections that have allowed many Haitians to remain and work in the United States since Haiti’s 2010 earthquake and many Syrians since the country’s civil war prompted a TPS designation in 2012.

The decisions represented two significant immigration victories for the administration, affecting both TPS and asylum-related policies.

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Ocasio-Cortez argued that the TPS ruling affects individuals whom she believes many Trump supporters did not expect would be targeted under the administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.

“I think it’s really sad because these decisions are targeting exactly the kind of people that Republican voters said that they did not want targeted in the Trump administration’s immigration policy,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

The New York congresswoman contended that the ruling departs from what she described as President Trump’s earlier campaign commitments.

She said the decision represented “a reversal of President Trump’s promise to only go after, quote unquote, criminals and rapists.”

Ocasio-Cortez also identified the types of workers she believes will be affected by the Supreme Court’s decision.

“This decision to overturn TPS targets nurses, it targets health care workers, it targets domestic workers, cleaners, people who work in restaurants,” she said, calling it “a real betrayal of President Trump’s promise.”

She further argued that ending TPS protections would have broader economic consequences, saying it would increase prices, make it more difficult to find workers, and disrupt established communities.

House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., also criticized the administration following the court’s asylum ruling. Aguilar said the president has repeatedly challenged a legal process that has existed under U.S. law for decades.

“People are fleeing terrible conditions, and they have a lawful right to declare asylum,” Aguilar said.

The White House defended the Supreme Court’s decisions and the administration’s immigration policies.

“Temporary Protected Status was always meant to be temporary,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson said Thursday.

“It was never meant to be a pathway to permanent status or citizenship…our asylum system, for years, has been abused and exploited by bad actors…this ruling is a step in the right direction towards clearing up our asylum system and making sure that people can’t enter our country who shouldn’t be here — and that people who are here, who shouldn’t be here, should be deported.”

When asked what congressional Democrats planned to do next regarding TPS, Aguilar pointed to legislation that Democrats advanced through the House using a discharge petition.

“Democrats led legislation in order to bring certainty to that. It’s sitting over in the Senate,” Aguilar said. “We forced a discharge petition, and were successful because we believe in governing.”

Aguilar appeared to be referring to House-passed legislation intended to extend TPS protections for Haitians.

Rep. Shomari Figures, D-Ala., said he had not yet reviewed the court’s full opinions but expressed concern about the outcome.

“I had not yet read the full decisions but was beyond the point of being surprised by almost any decision that comes out of court,” Figures said.

Figures defended maintaining TPS protections for Haiti, citing the country’s ongoing challenges.

“There’s not a country that I think TPS is designed at its core that’s more deserving of that than the situations we currently see in Haiti,” Figures said.

The Supreme Court’s rulings mark another major development in the administration’s immigration agenda and are expected to influence ongoing debates over asylum policy, Temporary Protected Status, and congressional efforts to address immigration through legislation.

Venezuela Quakes Leaves Almost 600 Dead, Thousands Missing as Trump Sends Massive U.S. Relief Force [WATCH]

The death toll from the powerful earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela this week has risen to at least 589, while authorities say at least 2,980 people have been injured and thousands remain missing as search and rescue efforts continue across the affected region, as reported by Fox News.

The back-to-back earthquakes, measuring magnitude 7.2 and 7.5, struck approximately 120 miles west of Caracas on Wednesday night.

Officials expect the number of fatalities to increase as emergency crews continue searching collapsed buildings and damaged communities.

The coastal region of La Guaira, located north of Caracas, sustained some of the most extensive damage.

The area is home to Venezuela’s principal airport, which was closed after suffering earthquake damage, complicating efforts to deliver emergency personnel and humanitarian supplies into the region.

Venezuelan state television has aired footage showing rescue crews pulling survivors from collapsed structures. According to The Associated Press, one rescue involved a woman trapped beneath a concrete slab, with only one foot visible before emergency workers were able to free her.

Rescue crews also continued searching damaged buildings throughout the affected areas as emergency responders worked to locate additional survivors.

The Trump administration has activated a government-wide humanitarian response to the disaster, pledging $150 million in assistance and deploying U.S. Navy warships to support rescue and relief operations.

U.S. Southern Command announced that U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Kevin J. Jarrard arrived in Caracas on Thursday to oversee Department of War support for Venezuela’s earthquake response.

According to SOUTHCOM, Jarrard is coordinating with Venezuelan officials and international partners to facilitate emergency operations following a formal request for assistance from Venezuela’s interim government, led by acting President Delcy Rodríguez.

“Maj. Gen. Jarrard is serving as the senior U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) official on the ground and is working closely with partners to plan, coordinate, and direct the U.S. military’s unparalleled logistical and operational capabilities to support the rapid, life-saving movement of response personnel, equipment, and humanitarian assistance into affected areas,” SOUTHCOM said in a statement.

The command also outlined how U.S. military assets are expected to assist rescue efforts.

“Assigned U.S. military forces will utilize fixed and rotor wing aircraft to provide specialized mobility services and assist U.S. Government personnel, search and rescue teams, and partners assessing damage and delivering critical life-saving assistance,” SOUTHCOM added.

As rescue operations continue, authorities are concentrating additional resources in La Guaira, where damage has been particularly severe.

Retired schoolteacher Juan Alberto Mendaño described finding a woman trapped beneath debris while moving through the damaged area.

“May God rescue her as quickly as possible,” Mendaño reportedly said.

“When we heard the scream, there was nothing we could do.”

Venezuelan officials have begun shifting rescue teams from other parts of the country into La Guaira to strengthen ongoing search operations.

Acting President Delcy Rodríguez also appealed to private businesses to make heavy construction equipment available to assist emergency crews clearing debris and searching collapsed buildings.

“We hope to rescue as many living people as possible,” Rodríguez added, referring to La Guaira as a “disaster zone.”

Hospitals across the affected region have also been impacted by the earthquakes.

Some patients were moved outside damaged medical facilities as authorities evaluated buildings for structural safety while continuing to treat those injured during the disaster.

Search-and-rescue teams remain active throughout northern Venezuela as authorities continue accounting for missing residents.

Emergency officials have warned that casualty figures are expected to change as crews gain access to additional damaged structures and isolated communities.

International humanitarian assistance continues arriving as Venezuelan officials coordinate relief efforts aimed at providing emergency medical care, transportation, shelter, and logistical support to communities affected by the earthquakes.

Dad of Three Dies After Midair Brawl With Jet2 Crew and Passenger

A 35-year-old father of three died after being restrained by passengers and cabin crew during a disturbance aboard a Jet2 flight traveling from Cyprus to the United Kingdom, prompting an ongoing investigation by Greater Manchester Police and an independent police watchdog, as reported by The New York Post.

The incident occurred aboard a Jet2 flight that departed Larnaca, Cyprus, and landed at Manchester Airport on Monday morning.

Police said they were called to the aircraft after receiving reports that a passenger had assaulted another traveler and a member of the airline’s cabin crew during the flight.

According to Greater Manchester Police, the passenger, identified as Callum Kerr, was allegedly “acting aggressively” toward both airline staff and other passengers before the aircraft landed.

When officers boarded the plane after it arrived in Manchester, they found Kerr restrained by passengers and members of the cabin crew at the rear of the aircraft. Police said he was unresponsive when officers placed him in handcuffs.

Emergency medical personnel transported Kerr to a hospital, where he died the following day.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the events that unfolded during the flight.

Witnesses who spoke to the Warrington Guardian said Kerr had been arguing with his girlfriend during the trip before flight attendants moved her to a different seat.

The witnesses also claimed that Kerr, who competed as a bare-knuckle fighter, headbutted another passenger before fellow travelers intervened and helped restrain him.

Those witness accounts have not been independently confirmed by investigators.

Greater Manchester Police said detectives are working to establish a complete timeline of events aboard the aircraft.

Because officers had contact with Kerr before his death, the force also made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which routinely reviews incidents involving deaths following police contact.

Police emphasized that the referral is required under established procedures whenever officers interact with an individual before a death occurs.

Chief Superintendent Mike Allen said investigators are continuing to gather evidence from those who were on board the aircraft.

“An investigation is now under way to establish what happened during the flight, and our specialist officers have been keeping them updated with all the information we know so far,” Allen said.

The chief superintendent acknowledged that many passengers witnessed the disturbance before officers boarded the aircraft.

“I know there were many people on the flight who witnessed the violence and disruption prior to officers’ arrival,” Allen added.

He also noted that investigators are examining the actions taken by passengers and airline personnel who intervened during the incident.

“We know passengers and aircrew worked to detain the man to bring the incident to an end. Our detectives are investigating this to understand the full circumstances.”

The Independent Office for Police Conduct said the officers who boarded the aircraft are currently being treated as witnesses rather than subjects of its investigation.

Kerr’s family released a statement following his death, remembering him as a devoted father.

“Callum was a family man, father to three beautiful young children, a lover of sport, and with a heart of gold,” the family said.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue interviewing witnesses, reviewing available evidence, and determining the sequence of events that led to Kerr’s death following the midair disturbance.

Neither Greater Manchester Police nor the Independent Office for Police Conduct has announced any findings regarding the cause of Kerr’s death, and authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing.

FBI Touts Massive Crackdown as Thousands of Predators Locked Up and 7200 Kids Rescued [WATCH]

The Federal Bureau of Investigation released a retro crime film-style video on June 25 highlighting recent enforcement efforts targeting child exploitation, human trafficking, and child predators, presenting statistics the bureau says demonstrate increased investigative activity and arrests, as reported by PJ Media.

The video, shared by FBI Director Kash Patel on X, features a narrator describing the agency’s recent enforcement results while comparing them with those of the previous administration.

According to the video, the FBI has rescued approximately 7,200 children and arrested more than 3,500 individuals identified as child predators or human traffickers.

Patel’s post accompanying the video stated:

“7,200 children rescued. A 42% increase from the previous administration.

3,500 predators/traffickers locked up. A 102% increase from the previous administration.

If you mean to bring harm to the most precious and innocent among us (our children), WE WILL FIND YOU!”

The video itself provides slightly different percentage comparisons, describing the increase in rescued children as nearly 50% and the increase in arrests as more than 100% over the previous administration.

Using a narration styled after classic detective films, the video describes the FBI’s strategy of coordinating investigations with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

“The FBI is leading the charge. The monsters preying on our kids have become the prey. By launching massive task forces across federal and local lines, they’re kicking down doors and shattering trafficking networks from the inside out. Thanks to that relentless pressure, they’ve successfully located and rescued over 7,200 child victims. That’s right, 7,200 innocent young lives saved. That’s an absolutely staggering 49% increase.”

The narrator continues by emphasizing the bureau’s arrest totals.

“Such rescues,” the narrator says, mean “fewer broken families and a real wall of protection built around our homes. And they didn’t stop at the rescues. They tracked down and locked up over 3,500 child predators and human traffickers. That’s a 108% spike in arrests on our watch. It means you can sleep soundly at night, knowing the absolute worst of society are off our streets and behind bars.”

The video also highlights progress involving the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

“They’re even hunting the worst of the worst, apprehending eight of the Bureau’s ten most wanted fugitives in a 17-month blitz. That’s twice as many as the previous administration. There’s nowhere left for these predators to hide. People can argue all they want, but the numbers don’t lie.”

In addition to the enforcement statistics, the production credits joint operations involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The FBI routinely works alongside state, local, tribal, territorial, and international partners during investigations involving child exploitation and human trafficking, with those partnerships assisting in identifying victims, executing search and arrest warrants, and dismantling criminal organizations.

The bureau’s video presents the reported increases in rescues and arrests as the result of expanded investigative efforts and coordinated task forces.

It also underscores the agency’s stated commitment to pursuing offenders involved in crimes against children.

The FBI has not indicated that these operations are complete, and investigations into child exploitation and human trafficking continue nationwide as federal authorities work with law enforcement partners to identify victims and apprehend suspects.

Democrat Senator Calls for Schumer and Jeffries to Step Aside After Party Implosion [WATCH]

Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin suggested Thursday that Democratic congressional leadership should consider making way for new leaders if they are unable to adapt following the party’s losses in the 2024 election, as reported by the New York Post.

Slotkin made the remarks during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Straight Shooter with Stephen A, where she argued that Democrats have not fully recovered from their defeat in the last presidential election and continue to struggle with defining a clear direction for the party.

According to Slotkin, Democrats lost focus by attempting to appeal to too many constituencies instead of presenting voters with a simple, unified message.

“To me, the lesson was simple. Democrats had too many priorities. They tried to make everyone happy and answer every question. When you prioritize everything, no one knows what you actually stand for,” Slotkin told Stephen A. Smith.

She contrasted that approach with President Donald Trump’s campaign message during the 2024 election.

In contrast, “Donald Trump came in with one clear message. He said, ‘I’m going to make your life more affordable. I’m going to put more money in your pocket’. … He won because he kept his message simple and focused on the issue Americans cared most about.”

Slotkin argued that the Democratic Party continues to debate its future instead of settling on a consistent message for voters.

She said that even more than a year after Trump’s election victory, “every day there’s a debate within the party about the path forward.”

The Michigan senator said the party requires substantial changes in leadership and strategy if it hopes to regain political momentum.

“That’s why I believe we need significant new leadership,” she said. “The old models are no longer working, and that includes the Democratic Party.”

Slotkin also described what she sees as an internal problem within her party’s leadership structure.

The senator likened Democrats to a “circular firing squad,” where “everyone is reacting to the crisis, but too few people are talking about what they actually want to accomplish.”

“To me, that’s a fundamental failure of leadership,” she urged.

Host Stephen A. Smith later asked Slotkin whether her comments were directed specifically at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York.

New York, NY – September 7, 2020: Congressman Hakeem Jeffries speaks at US Senator Chuck Schumer and members of NY House delegation media briefing on 3rd avenue in Manhattan

Rather than directly calling for either leader to step down, Slotkin said leadership positions should be available to those who can respond to changing political conditions.

“I’m saying that if people can’t recognize that the game has fundamentally changed and can’t adapt, then they need to make room for others who can,” she responded.

Her remarks came as Democrats continue to assess the party’s direction following the 2024 election and amid ongoing discussion about leadership in both chambers of Congress.

Questions surrounding House Democratic leadership have also increased following primary election losses by two incumbent Democrats in New York City to challengers backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani, prompting renewed attention on the influence of Jeffries within the party.

Meanwhile, Schumer has maintained that Democrats remain focused on regaining control of the Senate, saying the party is “united in the mission to take back the Senate and defeat Trump.”

Representatives for Schumer and Jeffries did not immediately respond to requests for comment following Slotkin’s interview.

The comments add to an ongoing conversation within the Democratic Party over its leadership, messaging, and electoral strategy as lawmakers prepare for upcoming elections.

Hochul’s Painful Attempt To Lead Bills Chant Falls Flat At New Stadium Celebration [WATCH]

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s attempt to energize Buffalo Bills fans during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the team’s new stadium drew attention after multiple efforts to lead a crowd chant received little response, as reported by Fox News.

The Buffalo Bills officially celebrated the opening of their new stadium this week after years of playing home games at the original Highmark Stadium.

The ceremony in Orchard Park, New York, featured remarks from several prominent figures connected to the franchise, including Bills owner Terry Pegula and Mary Wilson, the wife of the late former owner Ralph Wilson.

Hochul also addressed attendees during the June 23 event, wearing a Buffalo Bills hat and clothing in the team’s colors as she took the stage before the assembled crowd.

She opened her remarks by attempting to rally those in attendance, saying, “Alright, let’s get this party started, let’s go!” The response from the audience appeared limited.

The governor then made another effort to encourage crowd participation.

“Buffalo, let’s go!” Hochul shouted while attempting to start a call-and-response chant. She pointed toward different sections of the audience in an effort to get fans involved, but the response remained subdued.

After the crowd did not join in, Hochul acknowledged the lack of enthusiasm.

“Alright, seriously? You want to win a championship season with that kind of enthusiasm? Men and women of labor, you know what I’m talking about,” she said before trying once more to start a chant.

Her second attempt also received little response from those attending the ceremony.

“We gotta give this place some good karma, right?” Hochul then said while referring to the Bills’ new stadium.

Video clips of the exchange quickly circulated online following the event, with many social media users commenting on the governor’s unsuccessful attempts to generate excitement from the audience.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked a significant milestone for the Bills organization as construction nears completion on the team’s new home.

The stadium carries a reported construction cost of approximately $2.1 billion and will seat roughly 60,000 fans when it opens for regular use.

According to Bill’s Senior Vice President of Design and Stadium Operations, Frank Cravotta, the stadium is 99.75% complete.

The Bills are scheduled to officially welcome fans into the facility on Aug. 8 with the “Return of the Blue & Red” training camp practice.

The venue incorporates several features designed specifically for Western New York’s winter climate.

Stadium architects Populous installed underground heating coils beneath the natural-grass playing surface to help prevent freezing temperatures from damaging the field.

The stadium also features specialized lighting systems designed to promote healthy grass growth throughout the season.

Additional weather-related features include a snow-melt system and a canopy intended to reduce wind inside the stadium, providing a more comfortable experience for fans during Buffalo’s cold-weather games.

The new facility replaces the original Highmark Stadium, which served as the Bills’ home for decades.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together team officials, community leaders, and invited guests to celebrate the completion of one of the NFL’s newest venues ahead of the 2026 season.

While much of the event focused on the stadium’s completion and the Bills’ future in Western New York, Hochul’s unsuccessful efforts to lead chants from the stage became one of the most widely discussed moments from the ceremony after video of the exchange spread across social media.

DSA Leader Brags About Hijacking Democrat Party To Sneak Socialist Candidates Into Power [WATCH]

The co-chair of the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) said during a recent television interview that the organization fields candidates on the Democratic Party ballot line while working to build its own political movement independent of the party’s traditional structure, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Gustavo Gordillo, who serves as co-chair of the New York City Democratic Socialists of America, discussed the group’s political strategy during an interview with Spectrum News following recent primary elections.

His remarks have drawn attention online after video clips of the interview circulated on social media.

According to Gordillo, DSA candidates seek office as Democrats and participate in Democratic primaries rather than running under a separate party label.

“Our candidates run as Democrats. We’re on the Democratic Party ballot line. We contest the primaries,” said Gustavo Gordillo. “And when they’re in the legislature, they’re part of the Democratic Party caucus.”

Gordillo said the organization differs from Democratic Party leadership in how it recruits volunteers and organizes political campaigns.

“But we don’t agree with the way the Democratic Party establishment organizes or runs its party apparatus, so we try to build independence by focusing on volunteer-led movement,” Gordillo continued, “we think that everyone should be able to be trained and to become someone who can participate in the political process and we don’t really think that the Democratic Party campaigns and the establishment are run that way. And we think, you know, you really see that difference in the races we are having tonight.”

He also described what he views as a conflict between major campaign donors and the interests of working-class voters.

“And I think in terms of the agenda, there’s a problem in the Democratic Party where they’re funded by billionaire donors and at the same time they’re trying to represent the working class. In our opinion, you have to choose between the billionaire class and the working class. It’s just impossible to satisfy all of them,” Gordillo said.

Following the interview, clips of Gordillo’s comments were widely shared on X, where users debated the DSA’s relationship with the Democratic Party.

One post summarized the interview by stating that the organization uses the Democratic Party primarily as a vehicle for ballot access while maintaining its own organizational structure and political goals.

The post argued that DSA candidates run as Democrats to compete in elections but continue building an independent movement outside the party establishment.

Additional discussion on social media focused on Gordillo’s background. One post identified him as being born in Peru before later relocating to New York City.

The same post stated that he is an electrician, a union member, and holds an Ivy League degree, while noting that he has participated in politics for less than a decade.

The discussion surrounding the DSA’s electoral strategy also prompted comments from former Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison, who urged individuals who oppose the Democratic Party not to seek its nomination.

“I say this with no ill will or animosity: if you hate the Democratic Party, then please don’t run for our nomination.”

Harrison continued by asking prospective candidates not to rely on Democratic Party resources if they do not support the party.

“Don’t use our resources. Don’t rely on our volunteers. Don’t use our infrastructure. Don’t ask Democrats to invest their time, money, and energy in your…”

His comments came as debate continued over the role of Democratic Socialists within Democratic primaries and the broader direction of the party following recent election results in New York City.

The exchange has renewed attention on how organizations outside the Democratic Party’s traditional leadership compete in Democratic primaries while caucusing with Democrats after taking office.

Gordillo’s interview outlined the DSA’s approach of running candidates on the Democratic ballot line while simultaneously developing what he described as an independent, volunteer-driven political movement.

Fetterman Blasts Democrats for Sliding Into Communism After Socialist Primary Wins [WATCH]

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., criticized the direction of the Democratic Party following a series of primary victories by progressive and democratic socialist candidates in New York City and other jurisdictions, arguing that the party is moving further to the left, as reported by Fox News.

Speaking on “The Will Cain Show,” Fetterman reacted to Tuesday’s Democratic primary elections, in which several candidates backed by progressive organizations defeated more established Democrats.

“It was a huge night for the dirtbag left last night in New York City, without a doubt,” Fetterman said.

He argued that the Democratic Party is “drifting firmly into communism” and said the party is increasingly embracing candidates he described as “anti-Israel,” “anti-American,” and opposed to institutions such as immigration enforcement and prisons.

Fetterman specifically cited Democratic socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier, one of three progressive candidates who defeated establishment Democratic opponents in New York City primaries.

“If you want to get elected as a Democrat now, you have to hate on Israel and say the strongest anti-Israel kinds of statements,” Fetterman said.

“It’s a perfect correlation between if you’re going to be hating on Israel, become anti-Israel, you’re also going to be anti-American. And these kinds of views, they’re going to be anti-Western civilization…”

The New York City primary elections were viewed by many political observers as another sign of growing influence for progressive and democratic socialist candidates within the Democratic Party.

Outside New York, additional progressive candidates also advanced in several high-profile races.

In Los Angeles, Democratic socialist Nithya Raman advanced to a November runoff election, where she is scheduled to face incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass.

In Washington, D.C., Democratic socialist Janeese Lewis George defeated Kenyan McDuffie in the Democratic primary to succeed Mayor Muriel Bowser.

The report also noted that Abdul El-Sayed was leading in many public polls in Michigan’s Democratic Senate race to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters, while Graham Platner won the Democratic Senate primary in Maine.

Fetterman has frequently taken positions that differ from many members of his party on several issues, including support for Israel.

During the interview, he contrasted his own views with those of the party’s progressive wing.

Fetterman said he considers himself a “normal Democrat” and stated that he is proud to support Israel and proud to be an American.

His comments come as Democratic strategists and political analysts continue evaluating the results of recent primary elections and the role progressive candidates may play in shaping the party’s direction ahead of the general election.

The victories by several candidates aligned with democratic socialist policies have renewed debate over the ideological balance within the Democratic Party.

Some observers have described the results as evidence of increasing momentum for progressive candidates in urban Democratic primaries, while others have suggested the outcomes reflect local political dynamics rather than a broader national trend.

Fetterman’s remarks add to an ongoing discussion among Democratic officials about the party’s future direction, particularly as candidates prepare for upcoming general elections and Senate races across the country.

The Pennsylvania senator has previously broken with fellow Democrats on several issues, and his latest comments continue that pattern as debate over the party’s ideological identity intensifies following this year’s primary contests.
