A judge widely described as the first “formerly undocumented judge” in Rhode Island has resigned following a raid by the FBI on his law office on Thursday, Jan. 23.
Central Falls Municipal Court Judge Joseph Molina Flynn was the subject of a raid at his downtown Providence office on Thursday afternoon. Footage shared widely on social media revealed FBI and Homeland Security officers conducting the investigation hours, while police cruisers were seen outside.
Flynn, who was born in Columbia and lived in the U.S. for 15 years before obtaining a lawful permanent residency permit and later citizenship, describes himself as a specialist in immigration, family and criminal matters. He is also a professor at the Roger Williams University Law School where he teaches “Crimmigration.”
No criminal charges have been filed, but Flynn has been accused of defrauding his clients, and it’s reasonable to speculate that he was helping illegals skirt immigration law.
Hours later, Flynn resigned from his position at Central Falls Municipal Court. He was also removed from the RWU faculty page.
