How Woke Was This Year’s Super Bowl?

Super Bowl LIX saw the Philadelphia Eagles thrash the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 on Sunday, 9th Feb.

The Eagles took an overwhelming 34-point lead, with a Chiefs resurgence in the final quarter proving to be a day late and a dollar short.

However, as America reflects on the end of another NFL season, there’s one question you may be wondering: just how woke was this year’s Super Bowl?

The night got off to a bad start as the NFL permitted a rendition of “Lift Every Voice And Sing”. Often referred to as the “Black National Anthem” given its origins as a poem by NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson, the airing raised questions as to whether it should have been sung at all given the divisive sentiment behind it.

However, wokeness objectors were soon thrilled to see Donald Trump to become the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, with loud cheers ringing out when his appearance was revealed to the crowd in New Orleans.

(On a side note, Trump was apparently less than impressed with the game itself, taking time to announce a new policy on Truth Social).

As the nation sat down to watch the half-time ads, it was a less-woke-than-usual airing. One particular ad proved popular with conservatives on social media…

… while another was less well-received.

There was, however, a rather memorable moment when pro-Democrat Taylor Swift was loudly booed by the paying audience (in fairness, took it well!)

Were there any woke moments we missed? Let us know in the comments.

Taylor Swift’s Boyfriend Says Having Trump at Super Bowl Will Be a “Great Honor”

Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, stated that it is a “great honor” to have President Donald Trump attend Super Bowl LIX.

During media day on Wednesday, when asked to react to the news that Trump would attend the Super Bowl, Kelce said, “That’s awesome. It’s a great honor.”

“I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life. Having the president there — it’s the best country in the world — and that’s pretty cool.”

Kelce’s comments come just months after Taylor Swift received harsh criticism from Trump following her endorsement of then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

Not long after Swift announced her support for Harris, Trump said he “was not a fan of Taylor Swift.” He added: “It was just a question of time… But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

During an episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast, New Heights, in 2024, Travis Kelce said it is “always an honor” to visit the White House, regardless of who is sitting in the Oval Office.

“Anytime I get a chance to be recognized by the president of the United States and get to go with my teammates and a group of men and women that I had success with to the point we get acknowledged,” he said, “I’m doing it every time, no matter who’s up there at the helm. No matter what’s going on in this world, it’s just such a cool opportunity.”

Former President Joe Biden invited Travis to the White House in May 2024 after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, which was held in Las Vegas.

During the press conference, Travis joked:

“My fellow Americans, I’m going to be honest, President Biden, they told me I’d get tased if I came up here, so I’m going back to my spot.”

Trump Brings Back Super Bowl Interview Tradition with Fox News

The long-standing tradition of a presidential interview airing before the Super Bowl is making a comeback this year, thanks to President Donald Trump, as reported by Poynter.

Fox News’ Bret Baier is set to conduct the sit-down, which will air during the extensive pregame coverage. The interview will be pre-recorded, with additional segments airing the next day on Baier’s program, Special Report, as well as on Fox News’ website.

Fox News confirmed that the conversation will center on the Trump administration’s policy changes since his return to the White House, along with his first 100 days in office.

The Super Bowl presidential interview began in 2004, when CBS’ Jim Nantz spoke with then-President George W. Bush in a lighthearted exchange focused on sports and the significance of the event.

The tradition continued, but it wasn’t until Barack Obama’s presidency that these interviews became more overtly political. One of the most contentious interviews occurred in 2014, when Bill O’Reilly grilled Obama on Benghazi.

From that point forward, presidential interviews on Super Bowl Sunday became a high-stakes political game.

Trump famously declined to participate in the 2018 interview when NBC’s Lester Holt was set to host. Meanwhile, Joe Biden initially kept the tradition alive with interviews on CBS and NBC during his first two years but refused to participate in 2023 and 2024.

When Fox hosted in 2023, Biden predictably avoided sitting down with a conservative-leaning interviewer. The following year, even with CBS hosting, Biden still ducked out. It’s no surprise—his handlers were likely afraid of another incoherent disaster.

There was a time when these interviews seemed like a golden opportunity for a president to reach a massive audience. The Super Bowl itself regularly attracts over 100 million viewers.

However, the pregame show—where the interview actually airs—draws a fraction of that audience. Most football fans tuning in aren’t looking for political discourse; they just want to enjoy the game.

Still, it’s a brief moment in the national spotlight, and Trump clearly recognizes its value. This marks the third time he’s agreed to be interviewed before the big game. His first Super Bowl interview in 2017 was conducted by Bill O’Reilly, and his second in 2020 featured Sean Hannity.

Illegal Immigrants Linked to NFL Star’s Mansion Break-In

Four illegal immigrants from Chile were arrested earlier this month for their suspected role in the December break-in at NFL star Joe Burrow’s Ohio mansion.

As reported by TMZ., the arrests, made on January 10, expose yet another troubling example of how unchecked illegal immigration allows international criminals to prey on law-abiding citizens.

Court documents reveal that during a traffic stop in Ohio, police discovered evidence tying the suspects to the December 9 burglary.

Among the items found were an LSU shirt and a Bengals ballcap believed to have been stolen from Burrow’s property.

Investigators also seized Husky automatic center punch tools, often used by the South American Theft Group to shatter glass and gain access to homes.

Cellphone data provided another smoking gun: one of the suspects’ devices was traced to Burrow’s residence during the burglary.

The four men—identified as Alexander Chavez, Bastian Morales, Jordan Sanchez, and Sergio Cabello—are either in the U.S. illegally or have overstayed their visas.

While none of them have been charged with burglary at this time, they face multiple felonies, including possession of criminal tools and participation in a criminal gang.

This is no isolated incident. Reports have highlighted how international theft rings take advantage of weak border enforcement and exploit America’s generosity to fund their criminal operations.

These four suspects are scheduled to appear in court today, where justice will hopefully be swift and firm.

Burrow, beloved by fans for leading the Cincinnati Bengals on and off the field, spoke briefly after the break-in. On December 11, he told reporters that he felt “violated” by the crime.

Olivia Ponton, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and friend of Burrow’s, reported the break-in to police but has declined to comment further.

This case serves as a wake-up call to secure our borders and protect American communities from international criminals. Americans deserve leaders who will prioritize law enforcement and prevent incidents like these from becoming the norm.

Elon Musk Reportedly Considering Purchase of $5 Billion England Soccer Club

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, known for his ventures in technology and space exploration, as well as his influence in politics, may now be setting his sights on the world of sports.

Reports suggest Musk is considering purchasing Liverpool FC, one of the most storied soccer clubs in the English Premier League. Liverpool FC, nicknamed “The Reds,” is one of the most successful teams in English soccer history. The club has amassed 19 league titles, eight FA Cups, a record 10 League Cups, and 16 FA Community Shields.

On the international stage, Liverpool has won six European Cups, three UEFA Cups, four UEFA Super Cups—all English records—and one FIFA Club World Cup.

As of May 2024, Forbes valued Liverpool at $5.37 billion, ranking it as the fourth most valuable football team in the world.

The club’s prestige and financial standing make it an attractive prospect for potential buyers. Errol Musk, Elon’s father, confirmed his son’s interest in Liverpool during an interview with Times Radio. “Oh yes, but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it,” Errol Musk said. “He would like to, yes, obviously, anybody would want to. So would I.”

However, he added, “I can’t comment on that. They’ll raise the price.”

Errol Musk also shared that the family has connections to Liverpool. “We have relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate enough to know quite a few of the Beatles because they grew up with us—my family,” he said.

Despite the speculation, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the current owners of Liverpool FC, has denied any plans to sell the club.

A spokesperson for the group told the Associated Press, “There is no truth to these rumors.”

In September 2023, FSG sold a minority stake in Liverpool to U.S. investment firm Dynasty Equity.

At that time, FSG president Mike Gordon reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the club. “Our long-term commitment to Liverpool remains as strong as ever,” Gordon said.

“We have always said that if there is an investment partner that is right for Liverpool, then we would pursue the opportunity to help ensure the club’s long-term financial resiliency and future growth.”

Musk has recently engaged in British political discourse, particularly following the center-left Labour Party’s victory in the July 2023 general election.

Through his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), Musk has called for a new election, raising his profile in UK political matters.

While the rumors surrounding Musk’s interest in Liverpool FC have been denied by the club’s current owners, his reputation for bold and unexpected ventures keeps the possibility alive.

Whether Musk’s reported interest will lead to actual negotiations remains to be seen, but the speculation has already sparked discussions in both the sports and business worlds.

Infamous Transgender Swimmer Lia Thomas Spreads Misinformation About Iowa’s “Trans-Ban”

Infamous transgender college swimmer Lia Thomas recently criticized Iowa’s law banning transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports, claiming it sends a message that trans kids “don’t deserve to participate.”

Thomas made these comments during a panel discussion at Iowa State University, hosted by the event “Trans Athletes and the Future of Sports.”

The law, which was signed into effect in 2022 by Iowa’s Republican Governor Kim Reynolds, has been a point of contention in the ongoing debate over transgender athletes in sports.

Thomas, who made headlines after joining the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s swim team after transitioning, faced significant scrutiny for competing in women’s events despite having been a male swimmer prior to his transition.

During the panel, Thomas expressed strong opposition to the law, falsely claiming it excludes transgender kids from sports participation.

“With the ban here in Iowa … the state is actively saying to trans kids, ‘You don’t deserve to participate. You are actually being excluded,’” Thomas stated.

However, the law does not prevent transgender children from participating in sports altogether.

It specifically prohibits males who identify as females from competing in girls’ sports.

Transgender athletes still have the right to participate in sports that correspond to their biological sex, and the law does not deny them access to these activities.

Thomas further emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s development, describing athletics as a vital part of his own education. “I had a team, a group I could identify with… it gave me that belonging,” Thomas said. “Athletics and, for me, the water was just … a place of peace where I could leave my worries outside.”

Keenan Crow, the Policy and Advocacy Director for One Iowa, echoed Thomas’s sentiments, similarly claiming that the law denies trans athletes the opportunity to participate in a crucial aspect of life that fosters resilience and community.

“Excluding trans athletes from sports denies them the chance to participate in a part of life that teaches resilience, teamwork, and community,” Crow said. “There’s value in just being on a team and being included, especially for young people who might be struggling to find acceptance.”

However, the discussion around transgender athletes in women’s sports has sparked significant backlash, particularly among female athletes who feel their rights and safety are being undermined.

One notable critic is former swimmer Paula Scanlan, who was on the University of Pennsylvania swim team alongside Thomas.

Scanlan shared her concerns about the impact of having male-born athletes in women’s sports spaces, particularly in locker rooms.

This is real. I know women who have lost roster spots and spots on the podium. I know of women with sexual trauma who are adversely impacted by having biological males in their locker room without their consent. I know this because I am one of these women,” Scanlan said.

Scanlan also revealed her personal experience as a survivor of sexual assault, highlighting how policies allowing transgender athletes in women’s spaces can negatively affect women, especially those who have experienced trauma.

“I was sexually assaulted on June 3rd of 2016. I was only 16 years old. I was able to forgive my attacker, but violence against women still exists. Let us not forget the viral #MeToo movement that empowered female victims to speak up. It casts a spotlight on the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and abuse, including in scholarly and educational institutions,” Scanlan added.

Resistance to the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports continues to grow, with several high school and college teams taking action.

Recently, a girls’ volleyball team at a Christian school in Merced, California, forfeited a match rather than compete against a transgender athlete.

College teams have also taken a stand, with a lawsuit filed against San Jose State University and the Mountain West Conference for allowing a male player to join the women’s volleyball team.

Additionally, five colleges have refused to play against San Jose State due to its inclusion of transgender player Blair Fleming.

In the broader context, several groups are now suing the NCAA over its policy of permitting transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports, while the Olympic community is also facing internal debates over the issue.

A new candidate for president of the International Olympic Committee has promised to push for a ban on men competing in women’s events.

The ongoing debate surrounding transgender athletes in women’s sports continues to intensify as various groups, including athletes, schools, and governing bodies, weigh in on the complex issue.

Five Of The Best Donald Trump Celebration Dances You May Have Missed Over The Weekend

Last weekend was notable for multiple dance celebrations in the style of Donald Trump, as his supporters are making their support heard. To the chagrin of the left, the “silent Trump supporters” are silent no more.

The President-elect’s signature jig to Y.M.C.A by the Village People always marked the end of his campaign rallies that would ultimately lead him to a second term in the White House. Trump would shuffle to the 1978 #1 hit, thrusting his arms back and forth in a now iconic routine that has gone viral on social media websites like TikTok.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, Trump sat ringside with trusted aides for UFC 309. Following Jon Jones’ victory over Stipe Miocic, the heavyweight champion gave the President-elect his belt – not before he celebrated with Trump’s signature dance moves.

By Sunday, the dance had spread across to the NFL. Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers took motivation from Jones’ victory by celebrating with his own variation of the dance after a 23-yard catch-and-run touchdown.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley would also partake in the new tradition after scoring a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings.

Adding the golf swing to the celebration, Detroit Lions defensive end Za’Darius Smith made a hallmark debut with his own version of the Trump dance.

It wasn’t just the NFL, or the U.S., which engaged in the celebration. In the third-division of English soccer, Barnsley striker Stephen Humphrys celebrated his equaliser with the dance.

Shocker: Olympic Boxer Leftists Vehemently Denied Was Transgender “Woman” Has Male Chromosomes, Report Claims

An Olympic boxer who caused controversy by entering the female’s competition has reportedly been confirmed as a biological male, according to a leaked medical report.

Algeria’s Imane Khelif won the gold medal in the women’s welterweight category at this year’s Olympic Games in Paris, but their entry into the competition was thwart with controversy. A previous disqualification by the International Boxing Association in 2023, following a report that Khelif had XY (male) chromosomes, was dismissed by the International Olympic Committee, allowing Khelif to participate in the Games.

Khelif was allowed to retain the medal, and leftists were adamant that Khelif is a biological woman. However, a new medical document, first reported by German publication Blid, claimed Khelif to be a “biological male” due to the presence of XY chromosomes. It also claimed that Khelif had male testosterone levels, internal testicles and a micropenis.

News of the medical report was shared on social media by broadcast journalist Piers Morgan, who formerly worked for CNN. Morgan said that Khelif should be stripped of the gold medal, which in turn should be “awarded to the best actual woman”.

Many on social media remembered Italian boxer Angela Carini, who withdrew just 46 seconds into her second round match with Khelif.

Others agreed that the gold medal should be stripped.

Relatives Of The Face Of The Washington Redskins Want His Likeness Back In The NFL

The family of John Two Guns White Calf, known as the face of the Washington Redskins, want the Blackfeet chief to return as the franchise’s logo.

Two Guns White Calf served as the face of the Redskins for nearly half a century from 1972 to 2020. Growing pressure from the George Soros-funded National Congress of American Indians forced the team to change its name and branding despite overwhelming support for the status quo among Native Americans.

Since its sale in 2023, the now-Washington Commanders has sought to retain elements of the team’s heritage with White Calf’s family pushing for his likeness to return to the NFL.

“The fans want him back and we want him back,” said his great nephew Thomas White Calf to Fox News, adding that the family was never consulted about the sudden overhaul.

“Our ancestor was the most famous and most photographed native in history. Two Guns was also the face on the Indian head nickel. I’m proud of him. The Blackfeet are proud of him.”

Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines also met with the family regarding White Calf’s likeness and said, “It’s a point of pride and represents the rich Native American history that helped make our nation great, and it should be enthusiastically celebrated across our culture.”

The franchise reportedly has no intention of reverting back to its former name – something which was highlighted by commentors on social media.

Nevertheless, it seems fans from all franchises want the Redskins name to return to the sport.

First All-Black Gymnastics Podium Short Lived Amid Olympic Judging Controversy

American gymnast Jordan Chiles is embroiled in a controversial situation following her performance at the Olympic Games in Paris.

In a series of appeals, Chiles’ fifth-placed performance was elevated to third after complaints by her coach in the floor exercise final. The Romanian Gymnastics Federation then appealed against this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, alleging that the coach’s appeal came four seconds after the one-minute deadline. This was upheld, thus reinstating Romanian gymnast Ana Bărbosu to the bronze medal position.

USA Gymnastics has since appealed the appeal, citing video evidence that Chiles’ coach had met the one-minute deadline.

However, while she held the bronze medal spot, Chiles made comments pertaining to the ethnicity of all three athletes on the podium.

“In my head I think the last thing I really thought was, ‘We just made history,’ because it was an all-Black podium. I was in awe. I still have no words. If you ask me, I still am like… It’s crazy,” she told Teen Vogue.

“I think it also gives recognition to knowing that while the diversity in our sport is getting a lot better and people are understanding that our world is still going to be seen in black and white, it doesn’t matter,” she added. “But if we can express ourselves… then it’ll be easier to hopefully understand that. It’s not just going to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. [This moment] is always going to be known.”

Later, her medal was withdrawn, prompting some on social media to point out the irony in prior comments about how an “all-Black podium” is “here to stay.”

Many on social media offered their own perspective on the controversy.
