Trump’s D.C. Policing Moves Spark MSNBC Contributor’s On-Air Meltdown: ‘Trying to Hold My Temper’

President Donald Trump’s announcement of a sweeping federal response to violent crime in Washington, D.C., drew immediate criticism from MSNBC contributor Eddie Glaude, who claimed he was “trying to hold [his] temper” during a Monday appearance on Chris Jansing Reports.

As The Independent Journal Review reported, Trump outlined a series of measures to address crime in the capital, including declaring a “public safety emergency,” deploying the National Guard, and placing the city’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) under federal control.

2020 National Convention WASHINGTON, DC – AUGUST 27: U.S. President Donald Trump gestures after delivering his acceptance speech for the Republican presidential nomination on the South Lawn.

He also announced that Attorney General Pam Bondi would oversee the federal takeover of the MPD.

Speaking to host Chris Jansing, Glaude alleged that Trump’s actions were politically motivated.

“I think there’s an ongoing argument that he’s having in his head with Black Lives Matter. There’s an ongoing argument that he’s having with the questions around criminal justice reform and police reform,” Glaude said.

“It’s interesting that he really doesn’t really care about what’s actually happening in D.C. on a certain level, because he’s not trying to get at the underlying root causes. He’s not looking at examples of how to address rising crime rates that doesn’t require a form of policing that leads to increased incarceration,” he continued.

Glaude went on to connect Trump’s decision to unrelated matters, claiming it was an effort to shift attention away from the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“When we try to treat this as a rational response, then we lose sight of the actual politics that’s being played here,” he said.

“And he’s actually trying to give his base red meat to get them off of the Epstein story. And it’s on the backs of citizens in Washington, D.C. He’s going to undermine the democratic process in the district!”

The president’s announcement follows a series of violent incidents in the city, despite MPD data showing a 26% drop in violent crime compared to 2024. As of 2025, there have been 99 homicides in the district.

Notable recent crimes include the August 5 attack on former Department of Government Efficiency employee Edward Coristine, known as “Big Balls,” who was beaten while trying to stop a carjacking.

On June 30, 21-year-old congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym was killed in a gang-related shooting near a Metro station after suspects allegedly exited a vehicle and opened fire.

In May, 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez was charged with fatally shooting two Israeli Embassy staffers outside the Capital Jewish Museum.

Trump’s directive, authorized under the D.C. Home Rule Act, gives the federal government temporary control of MPD operations and allows for the deployment of the National Guard to assist with public safety efforts.

Hillary Clinton Whines After Trump Federalizes DC Police, Deploys National Guard

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., and place the city’s police department under federal control, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The move comes after a series of violent incidents in the capital, including the assault of Edward Coristine, a Department of Government Efficiency employee, known by the nickname “Big Balls,” who was attacked by a group of assailants.

On Monday, President Trump announced he was invoking Section 740 of the D.C. Home Rule Act, granting him the authority to assume control of the Metropolitan Police Department during “special conditions of an emergency nature.”

The president signed two executive actions: one invoking Section 740 powers and another sending the statutorily required notifications to the D.C. mayor and relevant congressional committees.

The provision allows federal control of the Metropolitan Police Department for more than 48 hours, provided committee chairs and the mayor are formally informed.

Trump also signed a presidential memorandum directing the Secretary of Defense to deploy National Guard troops to the city and authorizing state governors to utilize their own Guard units in their respective states. “We will bring in the military if it’s needed,” Trump told reporters.

BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY – 19 NOVEMBER 2016: President-elect Donald Trump & Vice President-elect Mike Pence met with potential cabinet members at Trump International

The deployment is part of a larger effort by the administration to address escalating crime and restore public safety in the capital. Trump said the decision was made after reviewing the severity of recent violence and the need for immediate intervention.

Section 740 of the Home Rule Act has rarely been invoked since its creation, and federalizing the Metropolitan Police Department is considered an extraordinary measure. The last similar action was taken decades ago under different circumstances.

Clinton responded to the move by criticizing the president’s decision to use federal authority and military resources in the nation’s capital, aligning her comments with broader objections from Democratic lawmakers and media figures who oppose the action.

Trump defended the decision, citing the emergency powers provided to the presidency under the D.C. Home Rule Act and the responsibility of the federal government to ensure the safety of the capital.

The president also emphasized that the National Guard deployment would focus on preventing further violence, protecting public property, and supporting local law enforcement.

The administration has not provided an exact timeline for how long the federal control of the Metropolitan Police will remain in place, but officials confirmed the deployment would be reviewed regularly to assess conditions on the ground.

Donald Trump Approves Direct Military Action Against International Drug Cartels

President Donald Trump has signed a directive authorizing the U.S. military to target select Latin American drug cartels designated as foreign terrorist organizations, escalating his administration’s efforts against fentanyl trafficking and transnational criminal gangs, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The move reframes cartel activity as a national security threat, giving the Pentagon expanded authority to act both domestically and abroad.

The directive follows an executive order issued at the start of Trump’s second term, instructing the State Department to designate cartels and transnational gangs as foreign terrorist organizations.

Chicago, Illinois. USA, May 18, 1987 Federal DEA agents display plies of cash and drugs, including kilos of heroin and powder cocaine, along with weapons seized in recent raids across Chicago.

In February, the State Department named eight such groups, including MS-13 and Tren de Aragua. The list has since grown to include two Haitian gangs, Yemen’s Houthis, and Venezuela’s Cartel de los Soles.

The Treasury Department also designated the Venezuelan cartel, led by President Nicolás Maduro and senior officials, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity. The administration doubled the reward for Maduro’s arrest to $50 million.

Maracaibo-Venezuela-25-07-2024. President Nicolás Maduro is welcomed by a crowd of Venezuelans and militants of the ruling PSUV party, at the closing of the campaign in the city of Maracaibo.

The U.S. has designated six major Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations: the Sinaloa Cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Gulf Cartel, Northeast Cartel, United Cartels, and the Michoacán Family.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained that these designations shift the approach from law enforcement to national security, enabling the U.S. to use military and intelligence resources against the groups.

“We have to start treating them as armed terrorist organizations, not simply drug dealing organizations,” Rubio said.

The order sets the stage for potential direct U.S. military operations, including naval missile strikes on cartel targets and expanded cooperation with Mexican authorities.

More than 10,000 service members are currently deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border, and the Pentagon has established three National Defense Areas in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas to strengthen border security.

A door on storm water drain leading to a man-made tunnel under the U.S.-Mexico border can be seen in a drone image taken on Jan. 13, 2025.

The Department of Justice has already applied the new designation in prosecutions.

In June 2025, it unsealed its first indictment under the framework, charging a Mexican national with providing material support to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, including supplying grenades. A similar indictment was issued in May.

The administration has also invoked the Fentanyl Sanctions Act and the FEND Off Fentanyl Act to target cartel-linked financial networks.

On June 25, the Treasury’s FinCEN ordered U.S. banks to cut ties with three Mexico-based financial institutions accused of laundering millions for cartels and facilitating fentanyl production.

President Claudia Sheinbaum speaks at the nation’s main plaza on Oct. 1, 2024 during a ceremony for the beginning of her mandate.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum rejected any U.S. military involvement inside Mexico, stating Friday, “The United States is not going to come to Mexico with the military… We cooperate, we collaborate, but there is not going to be an invasion.”

She confirmed Mexico was notified in advance of the order but insisted it did not involve the deployment of U.S. troops on Mexican soil.

Critics in Washington have raised legal questions about the directive, including whether the president can order lethal action without congressional authorization.

Under the War Powers Resolution, a president can deploy forces abroad for 60 days, with a possible 30-day withdrawal period, without a formal authorization for the use of military force, provided Congress is notified within 48 hours.

Past presidents have used similar authority.

In 2011, President Obama authorized military intervention in Libya without congressional approval, and in 2014, ordered airstrikes against ISIS in Syria and Iraq without a new authorization, continuing combat operations for years under existing legal frameworks.

President Trump has stated that his administration will not tolerate the trafficking of fentanyl and the movement of cartel-linked gangs across the southern border, signaling that military force is now an option in dismantling their operations.

Ex-FBI Director James Comey Rants About Daughter’s Termination from the DOJ

Former FBI Director James Comey went on an unhinged rant after his daughter Maurene was fired from her position as a federal prosecutor for the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York (SDNY). While it was unclear why she was fired, they both blamed President Trump for the termination.

During the tirade posted on his Substack page, Comey characterized his daughter and other Department of Justice employees as trusted and impartial outsiders who were not affiliated with any political party.

“They’re believed because, when they speak, they aren’t seen as Republicans or Democrats,” he said. “Instead, they’re seen as something separate and apart in American life—a group of people just trying to do the right thing.”

However, Comey’s daughter immediately contradicted his words by attacking the president using the classic jabs that the left has repeatedly used to smear Trump.

“Yesterday was unexpectedly my last day in the office. I was summarily fired via memo from Main Justice that did not give a reason for my termination,” she wrote, according to a letter her father read.

“But we have entered a new phase where without fear may be the challenge. If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain. Do not let that happen. Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought.”

Comey echoed his daughter’s sentiments, directly attacking Trump and other DOJ top officials, accusing them of trying to turn the Department of Justice into Trump’s empire.

“Trump and the hacks who lead the Department of Justice are hammering at the dam day after day, trying to turn it into just another gold-leaf-covered Trump subsidiary.”

“Our best hope is that good people will stay and do what Maureen asked—have the courage to do the right thing, always. You may get fired for acting that way, but there’s honor in that—and nothing but disgrace for those who don’t stand up.”

During his campaigns, Trump had promised to deweaponize the Department of Justice and the FBI to ensure they focus on fighting crime instead of persecuting political enemies.

Over 35 DOJ staff members who worked with disgraced former Special Counsel Jack Smith have lost their jobs, and 15 more may be terminated. They include two prosecutors in North Carolina and Florida.

Some vocal conservative voices fighting for the release of Epstein files, including Laura Loomer,  had asked AG Bondi to fire Maureen, whose husband, Lucas Issacharoff, is reportedly a Trump-hating DOJ employee.

According to Loomer, Comey’s son-in-law works as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York. He previously worked with the law firm Susman Godfrey LLP, which President Trump has blacklisted for allegedly participating in anti-Trump lawfare.

“This comes 2 months after my pressure campaign on Pam Blondi to fire Comey’s daughter and Comey’s son in law from the DOJ,” Loomer posted on X.

Meanwhile, Comey is under investigation for a bogus report linking Trump to the Russian election interference hoax and a cryptic Instagram post that seemed to call for the assassination of President Trump.

Joe Rogan Breaks Silence on Why He Finally Interviewed Trump

World-renowned podcaster Joe Rogan recently explained why he agreed to interview then-former president Donald J. Trump. Rogan was appearing on the ‘Ultimate Human’ podcast when he spilled the beans.

Trump’s “Joe Rogan Experience interview” shifted the support of a significant number of Americans, particularly younger voters, in the president’s favor. According to Trump, the idea of appearing on Joe Rogan was his youngest son Barron’s idea.

However, Rogan was not keen on interviewing Trump, who was then labeled the greatest threat to Western Democracy, and Trump did not even know the podcaster.

“My son Barron recommended me to go on Joe Rogan and all these podcasters,” Trump said. “He knew all the names. I said ‘who is that?’ He said ‘Dad, I can’t believe you don’t know who this is.”

Trump’s Rogan interview went on to become one of the most-watched videos worldwide, amassing nearly 60 million views on YouTube. It also exposed the hypocrisy of the left after Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris refused to appear for a similar interview.

To save face, Kamala blamed scheduling conflicts. However, Rogan disclosed that the Democratic candidate refused to accept his terms, which included having no campaign staff present during the interview.

It is highly unlikely that Kamala could candidly discuss serious issues like border security as Trump did without reading from a script. Sunny Hostin even admitted that she may have regretfully sabotaged Kamala Harris’s campaign by asking a basic question on Hostin’s show “The View” about which issues the former Vice President would handle differently from Biden.

Rogan talked about why he decided to finally interview Trump:

“Well, there was a bunch of things that happened,” Rogan said. “First of all, there was the lawfare. There was these lawsuits that they were trying to pin on him.”

Rogan explained that the blatant persecution of Trump, cheered on by the lynch mob, and based on made-up charges regarding a “bookkeeping error” that was past the statute of limitations, was not fair.

“They were trying to convict him and turn him into a felon, and they were doing it so blatantly and obviously. The case with the bookkeeping error or the bookkeeping, whatever it was. The misdemeanor that they had charged him with 34 felonies for, which isn’t even a felony. It’s a misdemeanor, and it’s also past the statute of limitations. None of it made any sense. And people were cheering it on. ‘He’s a convicted felon.’”

The attempted assassination of Trump at his Butler, Pennsylvania, rally also weighed heavily in Rogan’s decision to interview the then-former president. Leftist media bias further pushed Rogan to step up and offer a level playing field for all candidates.

“There’s no real conversations with him where you’re just treating him like a human being,” he added. “Like everything, he’s being grilled and then everything’s taken out of context and I’m seeing him being taken out of context on the campaign trail and like it was just gross. It was just so anti-American.”

AOC’s 2028 Dreams Derailed as New Poll Shows Support Crumbling

AOC’s 2028 Dreams Derailed as New Poll Shows Support Crumbling

New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has suffered another major setback in her dreams to become the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in 2028.

According to a new poll from Echelon Insights, conducted between July 10–14, a familiar cluster of names have emerged atop the list of preferred candidates for Democratic primary voters.

The most preferred candidate is currently Vice President Kamala Harris, garnering support from 26 percent of respondents.

However, Harris’ figures slipped six percentage points compared to the poll’s previous result.

In second place was former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg with 11 percent, up a single percentage point from the last survey.

Both Harris and Buttigieg have polled as frontrunners across a number of pollsters throughout the early weeks and months of President Donald Trump’s second term.

The biggest winner was California Governor Gavin Newsom.

According to the latest Echelon Insights poll, Newsom was named the preferred candidate by 10 percent of respondents.

That figure is up five percentage points from the previous result and comes as the far-left governor has embarked on a podcast tour aimed at portraying himself as a moderate.

In fourth place was Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), with seven percent.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez came in fifth place with just six percent of the vote.

This represents a decline of two percent from the previous survey, and comes as pro-communist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani found himself under the national spotlight.

Ocasio-Cortez has emerged as one of Mamdani’s primary benefactors and has held multiple rallies in support of his candidacy.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro received support from four percent of Democratic primary respondents.

Shapiro is widely perceived as a moderate and has enjoyed high favorability ratings in the key swing state.

Others included Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and businessman Mark Cuban — each of whom received three percent of the vote.

Governors Andy Beshear (Kentucky) and JB Pritzker (Illinois), both of whom have signaled serious interest in a White House bid, each received two percent, as did Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT) and John Fetterman (D-PA).

Meanwhile, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA), Daily Show host Jon Stewart, and longtime ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith each received one percent of the vote.

Obama-Appointed Judge Delivers Second Amendment Win

From Daily Caller News Foundation Reporter Ireland Owens

A District Court judge ruled on Tuesday that California should allow non-residents to apply for concealed carry weapons (CCWs) licenses.

Cathy Ann Bencivengo, a U.S. District Court judge for the Southern District of California, issued an order which granted summary judgment after finding the state’s “provisions barring nonresidents from applying for CCW licenses violate the Constitution.” The plaintiffs in the case, who are not California residents, complained that they have been prohibited from carrying a firearm for self-defense when they visit the state, according to Bencivengo’s order.

“Opening the application process to nonresidents does not limit California’s ability to regulate who receives a CCW license based on other measured parameters,” according to the order. “Nonresidents are simply afforded the same chance guaranteed to residents to exercise their Second Amendment rights.”

The lawsuit’s plaintiffs are members of the Firearms Policy Coalition, a gun rights organization. The group describes its mission as restoring “the essential right to keep and bear arms throughout the U.S.”

Bencivengo wrote in her order that the parties in the lawsuit are required to “meet and confer and submit a proposed order for an injunction consistent with this order within 30 days.”

Former President Barack Obama nominated Bencivengo in May 2011, and the Senate confirmed her in February 2012. The Firearms Policy Coalition did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Megyn Kelly Says Pam Bondi’s Time in Trump Admin Is Almost Over After Epstein Fallout

Megyn Kelly Says Pam Bondi’s Time in Trump Admin Is Almost Over After Epstein Fallout

Megyn Kelly weighed in on the ongoing fiasco with the DOJ and the Jeffrey Epstein case by predicting that Attorney General Pam Bondi’s days in the Trump administration are “numbered.”

Kelly slammed Bondi, describing the debacle as the worst-ever rollout of information by the DOJ.

She also noted that nothing new—especially relating to a supposed “client list”—has been released since Trump took office.

“Just look at the influencer thing. Just take a step back,” Kelly said.

“What kind of an attorney general would pretend she’s giving new information to some of the president’s most loyal advocates in the press? You know, buying ink by the barrel.”

Watch:

“Either Pam Bondi knew she was about to embarrass some of his most loyal surrogates out there, and did that willingly, or she didn’t take the time to make sure what was in those binders,” Kelly said.

“She was too lazy to actually figure out none of this is new,” Kelly emphasized.

“And yet she called a meeting with the influencers that included Kash Patel, the head of the FBI, and the sitting vice president,” the host continued.

“So she’s either lazy and incompetent or she willingly humiliated some of the president’s most loyal supporters. Neither one of those is good. And that’s why, I’m sorry, but I’m going to predict her days are numbered as a member of the Trump administration,” Kelly posited.

Bondi has indeed presented herself as uninterested when it comes to the Epstein case—widely regarded as one of the biggest coverups in history.

The host also took aim at both Bondi and Trump’s recent response to a reporter who asked a question about the Epstein case yesterday, noting: “Good grief. That was no bueno, guys. That was no bueno, OK?”

“What is she saying?” Kelly asked of Bondi.

“She’s nervous. And the truth is not her friend, for whatever reason.”

Watch:

Interestingly, Democrats have now become very interested in the Epstein case, despite having done nothing to progress it while in power for four years.

Racist Black Woman Not Bothered by White Girls Dying in Flash Flood

They say nothing is certain but death and taxes. In the 2020s, we can add social media cruelty to the list. No tragedy goes by without finding allegedly sane and normal Americans talking about how the people who died deserved it. The pastime really took off during the alleged COVID pandemic, when it became common to see people on Twitter or Instagram hoping that their neighbors or fellow citizens would die alone and wretched (for refusing to take the vaccines that didn’t work).

This article from Ohio State News in 2023 puts it this way in the headline:

“How people judge anti-vaxxers who die from COVID-19—

Some believe those who reject vaccines deserve worse outcomes”

“Worse outcomes,” of course, means those people hoped that vaccine refusers would die for their “sin.” The article itself insisted on calling people who refused the COVID vaccine “anti-vaxxers,” as if all such people were deranged and wanted all vaccines pulled off the market. And it edged delicately around the ugly truth that it was leftists and Democrats who wanted Republicans to die.

“While very few rejoice in the deaths of anti-vaxxers, some people believe those who are dogmatic against vaccines are deserving of worse outcomes – and that reaction is related to the political party affiliation and vaccination status of the person evaluating the anti-vaxxer,” author Jeff Grabmeier wrote.

A handful of writers tried to point out how inhumane people had become to each other. This one from the site theconversation.com urged people to stop “shaming” others who decided not to get the vaccination. But if the argument has to be made, the people are already lost.

None of this compares to the depravity that’s erupted on social media since the tragic flash floods in Kerrville, Texas, over the weekend of July 5 through 6. More than 100 people are already known to be dead. Tragically, at least 27 young girls and teenage camp counselors from the Camp Mystic summer camp for girls are dead, and more are still missing.

But according to the woman who posted this commentary, the camp was “whites only,” and that the girls deserved it because they were at a racist camp. The camp was not, of course, “whites only.”

As you can imagine, life turned pretty dire for the formerly unknown social media user.

Let’s see what users on X/Twitter had to say:

Trump’s EPA Ends Animal Testing Nightmare — Launches Lab Animal Adoption Program

President Donald Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has now approved a program for putting retired laboratory animals up for adoption after phasing out cruel and outdated animal testing.

Lab animals will now be put up for adoption, following months of discussion with the non-profit White Coat Waste. Internal EPA documents obtained by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) confirmed the plan to the taxpayer watchdog White Coat Waste, which has been tirelessly exposing and dismantling government-funded animal torture.

PEER said in a press release: “There are approximately 20,000 animals in EPA labs, including rabbits, mice, and rats, which are primarily used to gauge the safety of environmental pollutants. The adoption program, which is debuting at EPA’s Research Triangle complex in North Carolina, is now offering zebrafish and rats for private adoption.”

Anthony Bellotti, President and Founder of White Coat Waste, praised the plan:

“Reinstating the EPA’s animal testing phase-out and its lab animal retirement policy has been a top priority for White Coat Waste since day one of the new Trump Administration. We applaud President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin for keeping their promise to taxpayers and pet owners.

White Coat Waste worked with the first Trump Administration to eliminate tests on dogs, rabbits, and all other mammals by 2035 and to retire animal testing survivors. When the Biden Administration secretly revoked the 2035 deadline and killed rabbits slated for retirement, we blew the whistle—not the legacy animal groups who stayed silent while the killing resumed behind closed doors.

White Coat Waste led the only bipartisan campaign that united Congressional Republicans and Democrats to pass legislation directing the EPA to restore its phase-out timeline and retirement plans. From the beginning of the Trump Administration to today, White Coat Waste has been leading the campaign to cut EPA’s wasteful spending and to retire EPA’s lab survivors. We’re proud of our hard-fought win—and we won’t stop until the last animal is out.”

The decision to end animal testing stems from a push initiated under President Donald Trump’s first term but was later squashed by the Biden administration. Under the first Trump administration’s EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler, the agency set a goal of a 30% reduction in mammal testing by 2025 and a complete phase-out by 2035, The Gateway Pundit reported.

It was the most ambitious federal effort ever to stop bankrolling animal experiments and was backed by millions of Americans who’d rather see their tax dollars fund pet adoptions than animal cruelty.

Biden’s EPA quietly scrapped the plan, a 2023 WCW investigation found. WCW also discovered that Biden’s EPA was forcing animals to choke on simulated wildfire smoke and gunpowder fumes in the name of studying “environmental justice.” Rabbits were slaughtered after their “service,” even though the organization offered to rehome them.
