Florida Republican Adds New Donald Trump Banner Despite $50,000 (And Counting) In Fines

Floridian Marvin Peavy has added a new banner to his Santa Rosa Beach, FL, home in support of Donald Trump amid a high-cost legal dispute over the erection of his signs.

Peavy, of Walton County, added a banner of Trump’s famous “FIGHT!” photo captioned “you missed, Trump 2024” to his beach home. In addition, he added a banner describing the former president as “bulletproof” in another reference to the recent assassination attempt on Trump.

The Republican has had his pro-Trump banners up since 2021, but was ordered to take them down by a Walton County judge. For every day beyond the removal deadline, Peavy has been fined $50 – a total Peavy believes to be beyond $50,000 at this stage.

In a video reposted on social media platform X, Peavy said it was his “constitutional right” to display the banners. He has rejected any offer of a GoFundMe campaign as “because he’s not going to pay the fines.”

Give it a watch for yourself:

Many on social media praised Peavy for his commitment to free speech.

He also received high praise from the local neighborhood.

Peavy has appealed the court decision. Local media reports that Walton County officials, who have added the new banners to the case, are concerned about the size and type of signs permitted by a scenic highway, rather than the message. Peavy argues that this is a violation of the First Amendment.

Joe Biden Refers To Defense Secretary As “The Black Man” In TV Interview

In yet another remarkable screw up, President Joe Biden referred to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin as “the black man.”

Biden was being interviewed on Black Entertainment Television (BET) as part of a segment called Black America Votes when he made the comments.

Attempting to secure a demographic which has slowly shifted towards Republican challenger Donald Trump, Biden highlighted the number of Black appointees within his administration.

“It’s all about treating people with dignity,” he said. “For example, look at the heat I’m getting because I named a, uh, the secretary of defense, the Black man.”

He then appeared to confuse Secretary Austin with Supreme Court appointee Ketanji Brown Jackson. Incredibly, this was a gaffe within a gaffe, as he only referred to the first Black justice of the Supreme Court as “Ketanji Brown”.

The interview aired just hours after Biden’s COVID-19 diagnosis – something which even his staunchest allies will hope brings a period of error-free quiet.

Many saw Biden’s remarks as downright racist.

It’s quite astonishing that Biden is continuing to fight on at this point. Appearing on a Black television network, and then referring one’s Secretary of Defense as “the Black man”, appears incompetent if not insulting. For moderate Whites it’s perhaps equally off-putting. Biden has come under criticism for DEI appointees – something he seemingly tried to deny in the BET interview – but this incident, notwithstanding repeated concerns over his age, is unlikely to win over any voters.

Somehow, Biden remains in the race, and at this point it’s hard to know what the coup de grace to his campaign will be. However, referring to “the Black man” on a Black TV network, and then confusing him with another Black appointee who he couldn’t fully name, could perhaps be the beginning of the end.

Men Are Paying Off Their College Loans Way Faster Than Woman – And It’s All Due to Their Choice of Major

A graph pertaining the show the differences in student debt levels between men and women has caused widespread debate on social media.

The graph, shared by X user @eyeslasho, shows how men are paying off their student loans, while women went over a decade without seeing their outstanding loans decline.

Of debt taken out in 2009-2010, for women, the percent of their original loan they still owed outstanding peaked at 110%, only going below their starting loan balance in the post-pandemic era, after interest payments were frozen for years.

Debt levels increased at first for men too, which you’d expect considering few college students are prioritizing paying off student loans, but the level for men continued to decline after 2012 while remaining stagnant for women.

It was only in 2023 when women, on average, who graduated in 2009 saw the percentage of their loan amount remaining fall below 100%. By contrast, men crossed this threshold in 2014 and have now paid off around 30% of their original loan.

The simplest explanation for this is college major, and nothing else. The highest paying majors are dominated by men, while the lowest paying are dominated by women.

Some courses, such as Agriculture and Natural Resources, Social Sciences, Parks/Recreation/Fitness Studies and Business, saw a near 50-50 split.

On the contrary, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health Professions and Related Programs, and Public Administration and Social Services saw a large majority of female participants, while engineering programs were dominated by male uptake.

The graph left many others sharing their own theories as to the reasoning behind the discrepancies.

Why do you think that postgraduates, particularly females, are struggling to pay off student debt? Let us know in the comments below.

Democrat Neurologist Casts Doubt Over Dubious White House Biden Health Claims

A lifelong Democrat and an expert in Parkinson’s Disease expressed frustration over the White House’s optimism over President Joe Biden’s health.

Dr. Tom Pitts noted that the President is displaying “classic features of neurodegeneration” amid growing concern over this ability to govern.

Doubts over Biden’s cognitive ability extended beyond Republican circles following a disastrous performance against Donald Trump in the first presidential debate of 2024. Since then, Democrats have publicly and privately called for the President to step aside before next month’s party convention – requests which have so far been dismissed by the administration.

On NBC’s “Top Story with Tom Llamas”, Dr. Pitts said he could have diagnosed Biden “from across the mall”.

“I’m a Democrat, it’s just like – this guy is not a hard case,” he told Llamas.

Pitts explained that Biden’s “shuffling” mannerisms, “end-block turning” and “word-finding difficulties” were typical symptoms of neurodegeneration.

“Once you start manifesting the hallmark motor symptoms… I mean if a med-student did not pick Parkinson’s on the test, they’d be remediated,” Pitts added.

Venting his frustrations at the Democratic Party, Pitts said: “My party had four years to find – out of 350,000,000 Americans – one person that could take the place.”

Some questioned whether the expert diagnosis was needed given the public appearances by the President.

Other commenters referenced the increased scrutiny over reported visits by a neurologist to the White House. While officials originally claimed that only three visits had taken place in three years, reports suggest up to eight visits in as many months.

Joe Biden Ratioed By Tony Soprano Amid Doubts Over Presidential Race

The official account of the television series The Sopranos has “ratioed” the President of the United States.

“Ratioing” is a social media slang term for when an account posts an unpopular opinion only for a reply to receive more likes and reposts than the original, signaling strong disapproval of the offending post.

On Friday, July 5, Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to the presidential election in November and pledge to “stay in the race” as nominee of the Democrat Party and as President.

In response, the official account of The Sopranos went viral after posting a scene of James Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano character saying: “If you gotta keep saying you’re the boss, you’re not the boss.”

Many commenters on X saw the good nature of the post.

One pro-Biden user was less favorable of it.

Earlier this year, Sopranos star Drea de Matteo spoke out against Biden during an appearance on Fox News, and said that plenty of other celebrities are against him but afraid to speak up.

Biden’s pledges to stay in the race come amid growing discontent among Democrats after a disastrous performance against Donald Trump. Private meetings among party members have considered potential successors, while the President himself has dismissed calls to stand down.

The decision, ultimately, is in the President’s hands. While he has not yet been formally nominated as the Democrat candidate for November’s election, Biden is all-but certain to secure the candidacy at next month’s party convention.

Despite speculation, Biden reaffirmed his commitment in a letter to party members on Monday, July 8, in which he said he was “not blind” to concerns over his age but added it was “time to end” rumors over his candidacy.

Landmark Supreme Court Decision Quashes Hundreds Of Convictions Against Jan. 6 Demonstrators

The Supreme Court has altered the phrasing of events regarding Jan 6 in a landmark ruling which quashes hundreds of convictions by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

In a 6-3 decision in Fischer v. U.S., the court struck down the charge of “obstruction of an official proceeding” used against hundreds of defendants. As a result, those convictions are now invalid.

The Supreme Court ruled that the DOJ had misapplied 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(2) – a law intended to prohibit obstruction of official proceedings by destroying or hiding documents, rather than persecute events like Jan 6.

Furthermore, in a blow to critics of the Supreme Court’s political alignment, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, a liberal appointed by President Joe Biden, sided with conservatives, while Donald Trump-appointee Justice Amy Coney Barrett voted against the ruling alongside her liberal colleagues.

Without evidence that the defendants had interfered with the delivery of documents to Congress, charges for the “obstruction of an official proceeding” are now quashed. Effectively, the allegations are legally downgraded from “insurrection” to the lesser crime of trespassing.

The ruling has major implications beyond those who have already been prosecuted by the federal government. Allegations of insurrection are now legally invalid, thus ruling out charges against other individuals in cases connected to Jan 6 including former president Donald Trump.

Many others, including a defendant, reacted with delight after the court threw out the “weaponized” DOJ’s convictions.

There were also considerations for those who had been jailed for their role in the day’s events.

VP Harris Breaks Irony Meters Across America After SCOTUS Decision

It would be cute if it weren’t maddening. Vice President Kamala Harris is worried that a Trump administration would weaponize the government and persecute their political opponents. You’ve got to watch and listen to believe it:

If Trump were to do that, he’d be taking a page out of the Biden/Harris playbook to do so (among that of many other swamp creatures).

Harris was reacting to the recent Supreme Court decision that established that presidents have absolute immunity from legal prosecution for official acts. Chief Justice John Roberts clarified that no president is “above the law,” and that immunity does not apply to non-official acts.

Reversing the truth seems to be the only tool in the left’s belt, and Madam Vice President did it like a pro. In the video, she tells the reporter, “When we have a candidate in Donald Trump who’s openly said he’ll be a dictator on day one, that he will weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies, it’s very likely that he could be immune from those kinds of acts.”

The grammatical confusion in the quote above is as spoken by Harris. She goes on to stump for another Biden-Harris presidency, saying the stakes are too high for Americans under Trump.

The rest of the left immediately began shrieking too, of course, and they seemed to reverse the meaning of the court’s ruling. California Rep. Zoe Lofgren gives a good example in theorizing that Biden could dispatch the military to take out conservative Justices in the court.

Of course, the SCOTUS ruling would allow no such thing, and Harris and her ilk know this. But since when has that ever stopped the queen of confusion from tossing us another word salad. After all, this is the woman who can’t stop saying, “I can imagine what can be, unburdened by what has been.” Here’s a greatest hits round up.

Let’s see what Twitter/X users had to say about Harris’ fears of a Trump dictatorship.

This user got it right.

We agree with Heatherheather007.

The mockery just kept coming.

French Feminists Protest Against National Rally Support… By Topless Mopping

Topless feminists in France have taken to the streets to protest against a surge in support for right-wing parties in the country’s ongoing parliamentary elections.

The snap elections were called by President Emmanuel Macron after strong results for anti-woke and populist movements in the European Parliament elections at the start of June. An improved performance for Marine Le Pen’s National Rally echoed similar results for right-wing parties across the continent.

France holds two rounds of voting to elect its parliament, with the first taking place on Sunday, June 30. National Rally and its allies topped the polls once again securing 34% of the vote – more than 13 percentage points ahead of President Macron’s Ensemble coalition.

The right-wing parties have so far secured 38 seats, while socialist groups have won 32. Ensemble, on the contrary, has only secured two. Seats where a candidate failed to secure a convincing majority will be decided in the second round of voting on Sunday, July 7.

In Paris, feminists removed their tops and mopped the streets in a vocal protest in the country’s capital. With a bucket labeled “anti-racism remover”, the women mopped in front of the Eifel Tower while criticizing what they see as the “fascist” right-wing movement.

The effectiveness of the protest was disputed by American commenters, with some subjecting it to ridicule.

Others, however, preferred this style of protest over blocking roads or contradictory causes.

American social media users also drew comparisons with protests instigated by left-wing extremists in the United States.

Montana Glaciers Still Thriving Despite Warnings Of Them Melting By 2020

It’s 2024, meaning it’s four years since the glaciers in Montana were supposed to have melted.

A historic photo from Glacier National Park on the Canada-United States border highlights a claim that the glaciers “will be all gone by the year 2020”.

“The small alpine glaciers present today started forming about 7,000 years ago and reached their maximum in size and number around 1850, at the end of the Little Ice Age,” the sign claimed. “They are now rapidly shrinking due to human-caused climate change. Computer models indicate the glaciers will be all gone by the year 2020”. Spoiler alert: they’re still there.

The post by the X account @EndWokeness prompted debate among social media users, with some calling climate change “a hoax”.

Others noted the apparent moving of goal posts, with repeated warnings of climate change effects (thankfully) never coming to fruition.

The arguments raise interesting points. While there’s evidence that the average temperature of earth has risen with advancements in industrialization, it’s impossible to pinpoint how much human activity has contributed to it. When scientists repeatedly portray a doomsday-style argument, it can be hard for the public to believe them after so many incorrect predictions.

Likewise, it’s also difficult for the average person to truly make a comprehensible difference in reducing their carbon footprint. Nations such as China continue to produce without due regard for worldwide efforts to protect the planet, while world leaders and celebrities continue to use private jets for commutes which could be completed by public transport.

Outrage As German Woman Convicted Of “Hate” Messages Receives Longer Prison Sentence Than “Migrant” Gang-Rapists She Insulted

A German woman who sent abusive WhatsApp messages to a convicted gang-rapist has been jailed for longer than eight of those convicted for a heinous attack on a 15-year-old girl in Hamburg.

The man was one of nine who were found guilty of raping the girl in the city park in 2020. Eight were put on probation, while a ninth, reportedly a 19-year-old, was sentenced to over two-and-a-half years in a youth prison.

When the leniency of the punishments sparked outrage across Germany, the 20-year-old woman sent one of the attackers messages on WhatsApp, calling him a ‘dishonorable rapist pig’ and a ‘disgusting freak’.

The woman, who was sentenced to 48 hours in a juvenile detention facility, is one of 140 being investigated for ‘hate’ speech, according to the Hamburger Abendblatt.

The two-day sentence is longer than what eight of the nine attackers received for their heinous crime, all of whom were found guilty due to DNA evidence.

While the identities of the attackers has not been released by German authorities (we all know what that means), a number of the men reportedly were from migrant backgrounds.

Reaction from American social media users matched the disgust among Germans.

Others were critical of the German justice system, with multiple users accusing it of “failing” German citizens and women.

The outrage comes just weeks after the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party saw record-breaking successes in the recent European Parliament elections. The party has been labelled “far-right” by mainstream media outlets for some of their policies and their stance against immigration.
