Democrat Congressman Who Sought To Remove Donald Trump’s Secret Service Detail Slammed For Assassination Response

Democrat Congressman Bennie Thompson, who proposed removing Donald Trump’s Secret Service protection, has come under heavy criticism in the wake of the assassination attempt on the former president.

Trump was hit by sniper fire at a rally in Butler, PA, on Saturday, July 13. Miraculously, the Republican presumptive nominee survived the shooting after the bullet pierced his right ear. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was killed by the Secret Service Counter Assault Team within seconds of his first shots.

Questions have been asked of the Secret Service after Crooks was able to access a rooftop around 450 feet away from the stage where Trump was speaking. Eyewitness reports also suggest that the shooter’s presence on the rooftop was known before Crooks fired his first shot, and police had up to two minutes to react before shots rang out.

An outpouring of support for former president Trump followed with Republicans and Democrats condemning the assassination attempt.

However, when Rep. Bennie Thompson offered his thoughts, social media users were quick to point out that he had previously introduced legislation to remove Trump’s Secret Service detail.

The Mississippi congressman and member of the House Committee on Homeland Security previously introduced a bill which would strip convicted felons who had been sentenced to prison of Secret Service protection. Introduced in April 2024, the bill was introduced as Trump’s hush money trial commenced. While not specified by name, the bill clearly was created for the sole purpose of targeting Trump and putting him in danger.

Not only did Rep. Thompson receive backlash for his previous lawmaking efforts, but he was also forced to fire his field director Jacqueline Marsaw who reportedly posted “don’t miss next time” on Facebook in response to the shooting.

And his boss probably shares those sentiments.

President Joe Biden’s health and wellbeing has been one of his biggest bugbears since he was sworn into office over three years ago.

Prior to his longest continual appearance in front of the nation at last month’s presidential debate, criticism of the President’s cognitive ability had been somewhat limited to his fiercest Republican critics. That changed, quite considerably, when the mainstream media and even Democrats began questioning his ability as commander-in-chief.

Nevertheless, Biden has vowed to fight on and take the fight to Donald Trump in November. A string of public appearances may not have quashed concerns, but trusty White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has brushed aside fitness allegations by blaming the President’s wellbeing on seasonal illness and jetlag.

Common symptoms include tiredness, incoherence, and, of course, forgetting what gender and race one is.

That’s right, in a telephone interview with a Philadelphia radio station, Biden said he was the “first black woman to serve with a black president”:

The radio appearance (obviously) did little to silence Biden’s critics.

One commenter tried to decipher what the President actually meant.

Nevertheless, the post did little to ease concerns.

It’s hard to know whether Biden’s gaffes have increased in frequency, or whether there’s been more attention paid to them since the CNN debate. Nevertheless, fighting an election against a personality like Trump means the person will be in as much spotlight as the policies. If Biden’s gaffes only get worse, then as will his chances of re-election when the country goes to the polls in November.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said “the quiet part out loud” in her first press conference since President Joe Biden’s calamitous debate on CNN.

During it, she revealed that Democrats really can’t find anyone remotely competent to be the future of the party. “One of the reasons why he picked the vice president, President [sic] Kamala Harris, is because she is indeed the future of the party,” Jean-Pierre said.

Harris is the least popular Vice President in the history of modern polling, which should make her the dumbest possible choice for the party. Then again, maybe Jean-Pierre named her because all the other Democrats are somehow worse.

The 81-year-old is determined to stay in the race and face Republican challenger Donald Trump at November’s elections. Nevertheless, Democrats have privately discussed an emergency successor for Biden, with California Gov. Gavin Newsom among the potential candidates.

Should the President choose to step aside, it’s likely that he will have an overriding say in the Democratic Party’s nominee to take on Trump. Despite a dismal approval rating, Vice President Kamala Harris is the likely heir-apparent should the incumbent stand aside.

Biden has long considered himself a “transition”’” candidate prior to the party (presumably) nominating someone who isn’t in their 80’s to lead the country. As such, Harris is the likely successor – a belief which was all-but confirmed by Press Secretary Jean-Pierre on Wednesday.

“One of the reasons why he picked the vice president… is because she is indeed the future of the party,” she told reporters. “He is very proud to have partnered with her and to continue partnering with her in delivering an unprecedented record for the American people.”

Harris’ lack of popularity was matched on X as users responded to Jean-Pierre’s remarks.

Others remained skeptical over Harris’ appointment which many see as a DEI hire to secure the left-wing vote.

Americans have been told by our “betters” in government and media that it’s paranoid to talk about “the Great Replacement.” They call it a “conspiracy theory” in order to make normal, rational questions about our government’s open borders immigration policy sound like the ravings of insane people.

CNN’s Don Lemon is a good example. In this exchange with billionaire inventor Elon Musk, Lemon feigns ignorance (maybe he’s not pretending) of how allowing millions of illegal aliens to pour in will get Democrats more votes. Since illegal immigrants can’t vote (technically), he asks how it’s “possible” that they’ll get more votes for the blue side, ignoring the obvious countless pushes from amnesty by Democrats.

Musk explained that the Census, taken every 10 years, counts every person, not just legal citizens. Many of these aliens end up clustering around Democrat-run area. When Congressional districts are redrawn to account for the increase in population, the Democrats will disproportionately get bigger districts and more voters.

Now Project Veritas has released new undercover video with staffers at the State Department. Take a listen and see if you still think the Great Replacement is just a “conspiracy theory.”

Veritas has an officer of the U.S. Consulate on camera saying, “Latin Americans are all leftists. This is just to try and change the demographics of the United States.”

Still a conspiracy theory?

That same Consular officer told the Project Veritas investigator, “I wish people knew we’re letting in criminals daily.” He continued, saying that ordinary hardworking Mexicans stay in their country, but the criminal element, the “garbage,” waltzes right over the border. The Mexican government has no incentive to stop this outward migration because they don’t want this quality of people there any more than the U.S. does.

People on Twitter/X are not surprised.

“BlindFaithBook” sees a connection between U.S. policy and the UK. It seems that the left everywhere has in common a hatred of their own citizens and a preference for outsiders.

“Redacted” puts his/her finger on how this policy is reflected in popular culture:

If an alien from outer space tried to learn about the U.S. from TV commercials, they would conclude that most Americans are black, mixed-race, or Latino, and that every family had a bi-racial couple and mixed children. They would conclude that caucasians are a small minority.

“Balam” isn’t very hopeful:

As others have noted, Democrats themselves have openly promoted the “Great Replacement” theory themselves for years.

After the 2012 election Reuters ran an article headlined “Obama win shows demographic shifts working against Republicans.”

In 2020, Politico ran an article opening with the line “For years, the Democratic Party has operated under one immutable assumption: Long-term demographic trends would give the party something like a permanent majority as the country as a whole grows less white and more urban.”

Elsewhere, former Democrat San Antonio Mayor and Obama Cabinet member Julian Castro commented that “in a couple of presidential cycles, you’ll be on Election Night, you’ll be announcing that we’re calling the 38 electoral votes of Texas for the Democratic nominee for president. It’s changing. It’s going to become a purple state and then a blue state because of the demographics, because of the population growth of folks from outside of Texas.”

It’s not hard to see why some politicians are calling for a ban on lawmakers trading stocks. The problems of senators and House reps getting filthy rich and generating conflicts of interest have been with us for a long time. But the loot amassed by former California Democrat and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is raising eyebrows afresh.

According to the widely followed X account “Unusual Whales,” which tracks suspicious trades, Pelosi has made $5 million recently from her stock in the company Nvidia, which is now the most valuable company in the world (albeit with a much higher price to earnings ratio than second and third place, Microsoft and Apple). The company is best-known for its computer graphics cards powering popular high resolution video games, but like all such companies, it’s branching out into Artificial Intelligence (AI).

For reference, this is 20 times her annual salary.

An earlier story from a few weeks ago reported that Pelosi’s husband Paul made stock moves with Nvidia that netted the couple almost $4 million at that point.

What are the odds that their percent returns exceed that of investment legends like Warren Buffet?

It will probably be difficult or impossible to round up enough lawmakers to get a ban on congressional stock trading; too many people are feeding at that trough. Past legislation that claimed to ban the practice have done anything but. Politicians have always sought to enrich themselves above the “plebs” they pretend to serve, but the extremity of Pelosi’s wealth generation has really gotten under the skin of ordinary Americans.

Politicians are able to insulate themselves from much contact with real people, but the feelings of ordinary citizens flow freely on Elon Musk’s X.

Bruce is not alone. Like many others,  “FrankChronicles” believes Pelosi is engaged in insider trading. These are just suspicions and allegations, but they’re widely shared.

Then again, so is skepticism about accusations of insider trading:

But on the other-other hand, Pelosi’s return on investment has some people questioning how it is that a congresswoman seems to be outperforming top investment advisors.

We’re unlikely to find out for sure whether Pelosi or any other politician is getting inside tips because the system is set up to protect corruption for the powerful – but it’s safe to assume that’s exactly what’s happening.
