Trump’s Border Strategy Slashes Illegal Crossings to Historic Lows

The southern border hasn’t been this quiet in decades, and the reason is clear: President Donald Trump means business.

Border Czar Tom Homan revealed on Monday that Border Patrol agents encountered just 229 illegal migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in a single day—a number so low that Homan himself, a veteran in immigration enforcement since 1984, could hardly recall a time when it was this controlled, as reported by The Independent Journal Review.

Historical data confirms that illegal border crossings haven’t been this low since the 1960s.

Homan’s announcement isn’t just a fluke. If that 229-daily average held, the total number of border encounters for fiscal year 2025 would barely surpass 83,500.

That’s a dramatic contrast to the Biden administration’s record-breaking border disasters. Under Biden, agents were dealing with more than 11,000 crossings per day, peaking at over 12,600 in a single day in December 2023.

Eric Ruark, research director at NumbersUSA, called the drop in crossings an undeniable “Trump effect.” According to Ruark, Trump’s policies aren’t just symbolic gestures—they are delivering real enforcement at the border.

“There’s every reason to believe that we’re going to see historic lows when it comes to encounters now between ports of entry and people trying to sneak across. The Trump administration is serious and they’re going to continue to be serious about not just talking about ending illegal immigration, but doing everything they can do to prevent it going forward.”

Since reclaiming the White House, Trump has wasted no time dismantling Biden-era policies that encouraged illegal immigration. Among the biggest reversals:

  • Ending the CBP One App, which allowed migrants to schedule entry into the U.S.
  • Shutting down the Safety Mobility Initiative, a loophole that funneled migrants into the country through bureaucratic backdoors.
  • Scrapping Biden’s parole programs, which granted illegal migrants temporary legal status with little oversight.
  • Declaring a national emergency at the border, allowing for rapid deployment of enforcement resources.

Trump took it a step further on Wednesday, signing an executive order that cuts off taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal migrants and blocks federal money from supporting sanctuary cities. This crackdown sends a clear message: America will no longer bankroll illegal immigration.

The shift in policy has had an immediate impact beyond the border. Reports from Latin America suggest that many migrants who once saw the U.S. as an open door are now abandoning their plans entirely.

One glaring indicator? The number of crossings through the Darien Gap, a notorious jungle route between Colombia and Panama used by migrants heading to the U.S., has plummeted. Many see Trump’s enforcement agenda as an insurmountable barrier and are opting to stay put.

The contrast between Trump’s enforcement and Biden’s failures couldn’t be starker. Under Biden, fiscal year 2023 saw over 2 million illegal crossings, with 2024 topping 1.5 million.

These were the two highest totals in U.S. history. Faced with plummeting approval ratings, Biden scrambled to issue a half-hearted executive order in June 2024 to limit asylum seekers—but by then, the damage was done.

Trump’s return has not only reversed the trend but has set the country on a path to the strongest border security in history.

House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green praised Trump’s decisive action.

“The actions taken by President Trump to secure our border and make America safe again have been nothing less than historic, including by reducing illegal border crossings by over 60 percent in his first week in office alone.”

Green called it “the most aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration in U.S. history.”

Ruark noted that unlike in Trump’s first term, his second administration is staffed with officials who fully support his immigration agenda.

“You had a lot of people initially who weren’t really on board with Trump’s immigration agenda. That’s totally different in the second term, and these are people who, from day one, and we’ve seen the results, have come in and are putting in effective policies that are in line with what Trump campaigned off.”

While the initial impact has been dramatic, Ruark warns that the challenge isn’t over.

“We have every reason to be optimistic going forward, so we’ve certainly been happy, but again, the big challenge is, ‘what do you do you do about all the people who are who are here?’”

With estimates placing the number between seven and nine million, Trump’s administration faces a monumental task in not just securing the border, but ensuring those who entered illegally don’t get to stay.

One thing is certain—Trump’s America isn’t rolling out the red carpet for illegal migrants anymore. The border crisis of the last four years is over, and a new era of enforcement has begun.

“This Is A Big One”: Trump Breaks 20-Year Trend

For the first time in 20 years, Americans feel like the country is going in the right direction.

A survey published in mid-February from Rasmussen Reports revealed that for the first time in 20 years, respondents felt that the country was finally going in the right direction. “This is a big one,” the organization wrote in a caption revealing the data. The poll found that 47% of Americans felt the country was on the right track, with 46% felt we’re still on the wrong track.

The data dropped less than a month into Trump’s second term. Since taking office, Trump has signed a series of Executive Orders at whiplash-inducing speed, many of which are focused on fulfilling promises he made during his campaign.

Trump Compared To Predecessors

At the time of writing, Trump has signed more than 68 Executive Orders since starting his second term, compared to roughly a dozen he signed during his first term, according to the Daily Wire. Former President Joe Biden signed 32 EO’s by the first Presidents’ Day of his administration. Here are some other areas where Trump is beating out his predecessors, according to DW.

  • Overall, Trump’s approval rating is higher than his first term
  • He’s secured the release of at least 12 hostages held by terrorists from the Hamas organization, Taliban, Russia, Venezuela, and Belarus
  • Trump has also seen more confirmed cabinet nominees than Presidents Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Reagan (but the last two had fewer to appoint!)

Border Czar Tom Homan Will “Seek Prosecution” after NJ Gov. Murphy Admitted Harboring an Illegal Alien

Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan has reacted swiftly to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) admitting that he and NJ’s first lady Tammy were harboring an illegal alien. In a rather “foolish” show of defiance, the governor of the Garden State also suggested that the undocumented individual was beyond the reach of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. Gov. Murphy made the damning confession while talking to a Leftwing organization Blue Wave New Jersey.

“Tammy and I were talking about – I don’t want to get into too much detail – but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to,” Murphy confessed.

“And we said, ‘You know what? Let’s have her live at our house above our garage’ and good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her.”

Homan had warned Americans, including politicians like the Chicago Mayor, against harboring illegal aliens, which is a federal crime under Title 8 of the United States Code 1324 III. He also told the “not very smart” Boston Mayor Michelle Wu to “get the hell out of the way” after she vowed not to cooperate with Trump’s deportations.

However, Gov. Murphy has upped the stakes by being the most-ranking politician to confess to harboring an illegal alien despite Homan’s repeated warnings.

“I think the governor is pretty foolish,” Homan said.

“I got note of it. Won’t let it go. We’ll look into it,” he continued.

“And if he’s knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien, that’s a violation of Title VIII of the United States Code 1324.”

“I would seek prosecution, or the secretary will seek prosecution,” Homan warned. “Maybe he’s bluffing. If not, we’ll deal with that.”

Homan also disclosed that the Trump administration would sue sanctuary cities for harboring illegal aliens, who he said are responsible for killing thousands of children.

Homan also noted that the illegal immigrant killer of Laken Riley was comfortably living in the New York City sanctuary beyond the reach of the feds despite facing child endangerment charges. José Antonio Ibarra also had an active arrest warrant after skipping court hearings related to an alleged Walmart theft in Athens, Georgia.

Gov. Murphy should learn from Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, who quickly retracted his statement that he was willing to go to jail for fighting Trump’s deportations.

“Me and the Denver mayor agree on one thing,” Homan said. “He’s willing to go to jail. I’m willing to put him in jail.”

If Gov. Murphy is bluffing, he might earn street cred for being the tough guy who challenged Homan without risking his freedom, which is likely what he is doing. However, the thought of incarcerating a senior Democrat over illegal immigration would be very satisfying to most Americans who love their country.

Meanwhile, Gov. Murphy’s confession came at a critical moment when Homan said he would step up deportations and target other categories of illegal aliens besides national security threats. Appearing on ABC News, he warned that anybody in the country illegally was not exempt from deportation.

“If you’re in the country illegally, you’re on the table.”

Illegals Back in Mexico: “I Don’t Recommend to Cross”

Oh, what a difference a week makes. President Donald Trump has signed a flurry of executive orders since his Jan 20 inauguration, laying waste to gender ideology, restoring girls’ rights to male-free sports and locker rooms, cancelling taxpayer-funded “transition” surgeries for illegal aliens and prisoners, and much more.

The man campaigned on stopping illegal border jumpers, and he promised to launch the biggest mass deportation in American history. You would think that the fact that at least 11 million illegal aliens have come into the states under Joe Biden’s watch (and it’s impossible to get an accurate number; that is likely an undercount) would have all Americans cheering to get the criminals out. And indeed, a majority of Americans (66 percent according to pollster IPSOS), even including Democrats, say they want illegal aliens removed. All of them.

But the leadership of the Democratic Party, which has been drifting away from its own constituents with the exception of the hardest-left fringe, seems unable to agree with what its own voters want. Arizona Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs is talking tough, saying her state is not going to help Immigration, Customs, and Enforcement to carry out its work in her state. She must believe Arizonans like Central and South American criminals in their neighborhoods.

Major media are signaling shock and horror at the very idea of deporting illegals on military planes; it’s just bizarre. Look at these headlines:

You could be forgiven for asking: Do these outlets know that they are American companies? What explains this fairly recent and absurd “love” for foreigners who waltz across our borders, breaking the law? Why do American journalists seem to hate Americans and have bottomless “empathy” for scofflaws who eat up taxpayer resources?

Still, a number of Democrats in Congress appear to have either found their spines, or have sussed out which way the wind blows. After all, they want to win votes when their terms are up, right? The House passed the Laken Riley Act this week, a law that would allow instant detention and deportation of any illegal who has been charged with a crime, even if the trial has not yet occurred (obviously, their very presence itself is illegal). Forty-six Democrats supported the bill. It ought to be a lot more, but that is progress.

Whatever reservations the blue team has about enforcing immigration law really aren’t going to matter anyway. Military planes full of illegals are already flying out of the U.S. to destinations like Guatemala and Mexico, and it’s not going to stop.

LibsofTikTok brings us this clip. Even the illegals themselves know what time it is! One guy quoted says, “I don’t recommend to cross” as he sadly walks himself back into Mexico.

Commenters on X/Twitter seem very glad to see it. This guy asks the obvious question:

Yes, it always was that easy. It’s the Democrats who refused to enforce the law.

Of course there’s always that one bleeding heart.

Former Illegal Alien Rhode Island Judge Resigns Hours After FBI Raid on His Office

A judge widely described as the first “formerly undocumented judge” in Rhode Island has resigned following a raid by the FBI on his law office on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Central Falls Municipal Court Judge Joseph Molina Flynn was the subject of a raid at his downtown Providence office on Thursday afternoon. Footage shared widely on social media revealed FBI and Homeland Security officers conducting the investigation hours, while police cruisers were seen outside.

Flynn, who was born in Colombia and lived in the U.S. for 15 years before obtaining a lawful permanent residency permit and later citizenship, describes himself as a specialist in immigration, family and criminal matters. He is also a professor at the Roger Williams University Law School where he teaches “Crimmigration.”

No criminal charges have been filed, but Flynn has been accused of defrauding his clients, and it’s reasonable to speculate that he was helping illegals skirt immigration law.

Hours later, Flynn resigned from his position at Central Falls Municipal Court. He was also removed from the RWU faculty page.

Two Illegal Immigrants Nabbed In “To Catch A Predator” Sting Operation

Two illegal immigrants from Honduras were arrested in a Genesee County child sex sting operation last week, according to Sheriff Chris Swanson. Swanson carried out the two-day operation with the help of the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST) and Chris Hansen, host of Dateline NBC’s iconic To Catch a Predator.

Over the two days, the GHOST team nabbed four men who attempted to meet up with the intention of exploiting a child, including two illegal immigrants from Honduras, one from Lapeer and another from Utica. Two of the suspects are married with children, including the suspect who chatted for five hours, whose wife is a teacher with a newborn at home. Another suspect was a 25-year-old student who shared specifics on how he wanted to exploit the decoy, WNEM reports.

The arrests are only the most recent in Michigan involving illegal immigrants and human trafficking, or sex crimes against children. A Chinese national was charged with multiple felonies earlier this month after a large-scale sting operation the month prior showed she helped operate human trafficking and commercial sex operations at illicit massage parlors in Wayne County. Huazi Piao, the 60-year-old woman from China, was among several non-citizens and illegal immigrants involved in what authorities alleged was one of Michigan’s largest sex trafficking rings.

Trump’s Border Czar Reveals Controversial Plans Likely to Fuel Weekly Media Backlash

Tom Homan, tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as his border czar, has announced plans to take a tough and transparent approach to immigration enforcement.

Speaking at a fundraiser in Naples, Florida, on Sunday evening, Homan detailed his strategy for tackling illegal immigration, including weekly White House briefings to update the public on arrests and deportations.

Homan, a former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will assume his new role when Trump is inaugurated on January 20.

He emphasized his commitment to enforcing immigration laws “without apology” and keeping voters informed about the administration’s progress. “There needs to be a weekly White House press briefing on exactly who we’re arresting and who we’re saving, who we are putting in jail, who we are deporting, so the American people know we’re true to our word,” Homan stated.

He stressed the importance of transparency and indicated that his background as a Fox News commentator made him well-suited for the task.

Homan also pledged to end the controversial “catch-and-release” policy, under which asylum seekers are released pending court appearances due to insufficient detention capacity. “It will be sad. It will be controversial. It will be emotional,” Homan acknowledged, anticipating media backlash.

Homan outlined three priorities given to him by Trump: securing the southern border, launching a large-scale deportation program, and locating 300,000 undocumented children who have gone missing within the United States.

Addressing logistical challenges, Homan noted that scaling up deportation operations would require additional resources. “We have limited facilities, but we’re gonna do everything we can with what we have,” he said.

He called on Congress to act quickly on funding, suggesting that $86 billion would be a strong starting point to cover the costs of beds and operations.

Homan explained the complexities involved in deportation, particularly for individuals from countries reluctant to accept their nationals. “Say someone is illegal. Let’s say he’s a criminal. He’s convicted of murder, originally from El Salvador,” he said. “I can’t put him on an airplane on day one. You gotta detain him long enough to get travel documents, get landing rights. El Salvador has to admit that it’s their national. That takes a few days to a few weeks. So I need beds.”

Homan revealed that discussions are already underway to find alternative destinations for migrants from countries unwilling to repatriate them.

While declining to name specific countries, he confirmed that negotiations had begun ahead of Trump’s inauguration.

Reports have previously mentioned Turks and Caicos, Panama, and Grenada as potential destinations, though some nations, including the Bahamas, have ruled out such agreements.

Guatemala has expressed tentative openness to housing deportees, according to Reuters.

Homan noted that this approach mirrors efforts in other nations, such as the United Kingdom’s deal with Rwanda to house refugees.

However, such plans often face legal challenges, as demonstrated by the American Civil Liberties Union’s opposition to a similar Trump-era proposal in 2019.

Homan pointed to the November elections as evidence that voters support stricter immigration enforcement.

A recent J.L. Partners poll for DailyMail.com found that the border crisis ranked as the second most important issue for voters, trailing only inflation.

As Homan prepares to take on his new role, he remains focused on implementing what Trump has called the “largest deportation in history.”

With Congress now under pressure to allocate resources for these initiatives, the success of the plan may hinge on swift legislative action. “This is what the American people want,” Homan said. “Give us the money we need, and we’ll get it done.”

Roommate of Laken Riley’s Accused Killer Says Government Paid for Alleged Killer’s Plane Fare to Georgia

The political and cultural atmosphere in the United States—what’s considered “normal”—has changed so drastically, so quickly, that it is often surreal to write news articles about current events. A writer asks himself, “Can this really be the case?” While Donald Trump’s presidential victory (along with Republicans keeping the Senate and taking the House) has turned a page, the story Americans have been living under for years is going to take years to be rewritten.

Just 10 years ago, any normal, sane adult would have reacted with horror and outrage if anyone suggested chemically and permanently sterilizing children, or cutting off the breasts of teenage girls. And then, somehow, in just five years, it became forbidden to express horror at the mutilation of children. All of a sudden, overnight, this Mengele-level nightmare became called “gender affirming care.” All of a sudden, overnight, parents could have their children taken away by the state for trying to protect their children from this abuse.

We can call it a moral reversal, a fever dream, an inversion of morality—no words seem strong enough to convey the bizarre depravity that has somehow become the real world we live in.

It’s with that in mind that we bring you sickening news about another shibboleth we’re not supposed to cross: illegal aliens in the U.S. who rape and murder us and our children. You probably know of the killing of 22-year-old Georgia college student Laken Riley. She went for a jog on February 22, 2024, and never came home. Her body was later found. She had been raped and bludgeoned over the head with a rock such that her face was unrecognizable.

Illegal alien José Ibarra is on trial right now for her rape and murder. The Venezuelan man first jumped the border into the U.S. in 2022. But like most criminal aliens who broke into the country under the Biden administration, Ibarra was released by Border Patrol to just go free. So he went to New York City.

And then he went to Georgia, setting the stage for Laken Riley’s killing.

All of this is outrageous enough on its own, but unbelievably, it gets worse. Well-known X (Twitter) account LibsofTikTok brings us this:

Ibarra’s roommate, also an illegal alien, told the Georgia court trying José Ibarra that the two of them made their way to Georgia on the taxpayer’s dime. She, the roommate,  claims she and Ibarra just walked over to the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan (now a flophouse for hundreds of illegal aliens mooching off your tax dollars) and asked for a plane ticket to Georgia, and they got it.

Here we are in 2024. It’s now “normal” for foreign nationals to break into the country and be immediately released by “Border Patrol.” Then, the scofflaws get to live off welfare benefits we pay for. Then, the scofflaws get taxpayer-funded moving costs to fly anywhere in the country they please. And now, one of them is on trial (again, at our expense) for raping and murdering an American woman.

This writer has run out of words. Let’s see what social media users have to say about it.

4% of Haiti’s Entire Population Has Entered U.S. Under Biden-Harris – And That’s Not All

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been importing an astonishing number of third-world Haitians into the country. That’s right. The administration has been actively arranging and paying for Haitian “migrants” to fly into the U.S. More on this below, but first, we need to prepare the ground.

It’s astonishing reading news articles in 2024 to prepare for an article like this one you’re reading on Wokespy. Yours truly was a working newspaper reporter about 25 years ago during the very last period in which news organizations still believed, at least partially, in reporting the facts, not editorializing with a political slant. Not so now. In preparing another article about the allegations by Springfield, Ohio residents who claim Haitians are stealing ducks and geese (and household pets) from local parks and neighborhoods, I could not find one story that didn’t sound like a press release from the Democratic National Committee.

Every single headline and lead sentence said something like, “Vance and Trump repeat baseless claims,” or “Vance claims cats getting eaten without evidence.” There’s a big problem: these claims are not baseless, and it is not true that there is “no evidence.” There is plenty of evidence, and it is the same kind of evidence introduced in actual court proceedings: eyewitness testimony and police reports.

Yet even liberal mainstream media cannot deny every fact. Take this article from Newsweek. The angle is to big up the Biden administration, and Kamala Harris, for an alleged 70 percent drop in illegal border crossings recently. But read carefully. The drop only came after Biden was forced to take action after pressure from Republicans furious at the millions of illegals the administration is welcoming into the U.S. with no vetting. And the drop wouldn’t have been so large in percentage terms if the Biden-Harris admin didn’t let border crossings explode in the first place.

Buried deep in the Newsweek article is this bit of truth. It’s a quote from Customs and Border Patrol: “Through the end of August 2024, nearly 530,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans arrived lawfully on commercial flights and were granted parole under these processes.”

That’s right. Half a million “migrants” “arrived lawfully” on “commercial flights.” Half a million got a free plane ticket to the U.S. Does any of this sound sane?

There’s another way to look at the numbers that may wake some people up to what’s going on. X (Twitter) user “datahazard” has compiled a chart showing the percentage of each foreign country’s population that has been whisked into the United States.

We’ve brought in six percent of the populations of Nicaragua, Cuba, and Honduras, plus four percent of Haiti’s population. Let’s see what social media users had to say.

Does the Kamala Express go to Coconut Tree Island, too?

Jay here is right about Kamala being a joke, but will enough Dems wake up before November to prevent a disaster?

Debra’s post highlights something new, too. Every U.S. state is now a “border state.” It used to be that Texas, Arizona, and California got most of the illegals. But even up here in your faithful correspondent’s northeast state of Vermont, you can literally see the population changing by the week as spanish-Speaking “migrants” show up in greater numbers (most of them speak no English, and most of them are single young men).

Michigan Waterpark Faces Federal Investigation for Allegedly Trafficking Illegal Alien Workers

A Michigan waterpark is under investigation for allegedly bussing illegal immigrants from Chicago to work at the facility, where a dispute about pay over the weekend uncovered bigger issues.

The manager of the waterpark hotel Splash Universe in Dundee called police around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday to report a female employee threw a phone and hit him in the head, but once officers arrived, none of a group of five employees spoke English, WTVG reports.

After calling in a Michigan State Police interpreter, a 30-year-old woman “told the interpreter that she was an undocumented immigrant who was brought to Splash Universe by the manager with the promise of receiving $90 per day for working at the hotel, along with room and board.

“She said they had worked nine days and had yet to receive payment,” a police report read.

Another 25-year-old woman used Google Translate to tell the officer she was pregnant and had not eaten in two days.

“She also told me that the argument had started specifically after they were told that they were only going to be paid $5 per hour, instead of the $90 a day they were originally promised,” the report read. “She also told me the manager threatened to call (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) if they did not do what he told them to do.”

Dundee Police interviewed the manager, who said he didn’t want to pursue charges against his assailant. The officer asked for documentation for the employees. While the manager insisted the employees were legal to work, he could not provide documentation, WTOL reports.

The manager told police he picked the employees up from a shelter in Chicago, promised to pay them $90 a day, and denied the claims about $5 an hour. A front desk clerk at Splash Universe told police the hotel owners brought the employees in on two chartered buses from Chicago.
