Republican State AGs Unite to Oppose New Gag Order in Trump Documents Case

Dozens of Republican state attorneys general have submitted an amicus brief in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case in Florida, asking the court to deny Special Counsel Jack Smith’s request for a gag order. The group of 24 attorneys called Smith’s request “presumptively unconstitutional”.

In April while his hush-money criminal trial in Manhattan was underway, Trump was handed a $9,000 fine by Judge Juan Merchan for contempt of court after the former president repeatedly violated a gag order. When he handed Trump the fine, Merchan warned that he could face jail time if he continued to violate the gag order.

Donald Trump Jr. has accused Smith of tampering with evidence relating to the case after it was revealed that the order of the documents had changed since they were seized from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort by the FBI in 2022. Following the revelation, the trial date was postponed indefinitely by Judge Aileen Cannon.

The filed amicus brief argued that candidates’ freedoms to discuss key issues of the day formed the foundation of fair elections. It also claimed that attempts to silence a candidate would harm voters and deny them access to valuable information.

The brief expressed its concerns that “fundamental” First Amendment rights are violated when one candidate’s “agents” seek a court order to silence debate on issues central to an election campaign. The group of state prosecutors, which was led by Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, stressed that all branches of government should be careful about censoring political speech on key issues, especially leading up to a presidential election.

Smith’s motion argued that Trump had made statements that posed a significant danger to law enforcement involved in the case. The special counsel’s concerns relate to Trump’s claims that FBI agents were “locked & loaded” when they raided his property. Trump suggested that there was a plot between the FBI and the White House to assassinate him. Prosecutors slated the “grossly misleading claims” by Trump, which relate to a standard boilerplate policy used by the FBI in such operations that seeks to minimize the use of deadly force in emergency scenarios.

Washington Post Columnist Calls for Biden Replacing VP Harris With Hillary Clinton

Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker has suggested concerns about President Joe Biden’s age could be solved by replacing Vice President Kamala Harris with former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who will likely be remembered by her humiliating loss to Donald Trump in 2016.

Parker argued in the op-ed that Harris’ poor popularity rating justified the running mate replacement. The columnist highlighted the “lackluster” performance of the vice president, and suggested that it was her lack of competence rather than her race or sex that impeded the Biden-Harris campaign.

In February 2024, Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, released a report on Biden’s misplacement of highly confidential documents during his time as vice president. Hur concluded that, though Biden was a “well-meaning” and “sympathetic” old man, he suffered from a poor memory and had knowingly misplaced the top secret documents.

Both Republicans and Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have long raised questions about Biden’s mental wellbeing and ability to hold unscripted debates. Biden’s supporters, however, such as actor Michael Douglas, have continued to insist that the 81-year-old is as “sharp as a tack”. Biden angrily dismissed Hur’s claims and insisted there were no problems with his mental wellbeing.

Conservatives have suggested that Harris is relied on to assist a “weak” president, and speculated in 2023 that Harris was fully aware that Biden may not last a second full term in the White House. Harris has not performed better than either Trump or Biden in polls, however, and her positivity rating was lower than both candidates at 31% in 2023. Phrased differently; VP Harris has the lowest net approval rating of any VP in the history of modern polling.

Polls have found Biden’s age to be a leading concern among voters, as more Democratic voters question whether the incumbent president is fit enough for another four years in the White House. Parker claimed that Clinton, 76, would be the obvious substitute for Harris. She highlighted the impact of Clinton’s activity in the news cycle suggesting to voters that, had she not been defeated by Trump in 2016, the country would not be caught in a dilemma of being governed by “old white men”.

Clinton is also reiterating her support for Israel and reminding voters of her past role in the Obama administration. Regarding the suggestion to replace Biden’s running mate with an alternative only a few years younger than the incumbent president, Parker said it was “just a thought” but that “worse ideas” had still managed to succeed.

Woke Weirdos Are Now Demanding “Menstrual Equity”

Researchers have been warning for years that testosterone levels are dropping in men. Obesity, sedentary lifestyles, and more have been tentatively blamed. But whatever the cause, it doesn’t take a study to see that leftist men are getting wimpier while woke women climb the social status ladder.

Podcast host Josh Slocum of Disaffected is in despair over Canada and the U.S. caving to leftist demands that we all talk about women’s monthly cycles at work. Our northern neighbor, the city of Victoria, says it wants “menstrual equity,” whatever that is. And to get it, the city announced it is raising the “period flag” while illuminating city buildings in creepy red light.

“Male ally” MP Seamus O’Regan showed off his new charm bracelet as part of a tidal wave of support for “Menstrual Hygiene Day.”

Down here in the states, the U.S. Department of Labor bemoans the fact that talking about your period at work is “taboo.” No word on whether the taboo against discussing your other bathroom habits on the job constitutes a similar injustice.

Disaffected’s Slocum takes both countries on in the show’s Potpourri du Moquerie satire segment – give it a watch below:

Disaffected Podcast Host Calls Out “The View” Following Trump Conviction

Donald Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records has the leftist part of the population clucking and crowing. Even though no one seems to be quite sure how a paperwork misclassification of $130,000 became felony charges with possible imprisonment, that doesn’t matter to them. What matters is getting Trump.

Many on the right believe Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg campaigned on an implied promise to do it, and they think similarly of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was much more explicit in her campaign to ensnare Trump in a witch hunt. The legitimacy of the conviction aside, it’s obvious that being able to say “convicted felon” about Trump is giving leftists tingly feelings.

Podcast host Josh Slocum of Disaffected called out the women of The HenHou. . . The View for preening their feathers in an undignified way. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg could barely get her words right as she rushed to celebrate. In the following clip listen for a Freudian slip as Goldberg describes Trump as a “confected felon.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin—after mining the crowd for applause because her daughter graduated high school—said hearing the verdict made her feel like “the Knicks won the tournament.” Catch Disaffected host Slocum helping Hostin out with a perfect head-swivel.

Robert Reich Isn’t Doing So Well on Social Media

Ultra-liberal former Labor Secretary Robert Reich has made a name for himself with hysterical declamations on social media about the eternally-looming dictatorship under Donald Trump, the end of the world from climate change, and the other usual leftist catastrophe fantasies. What’s funny is how convinced they are that it’s conservatives who have lost their brains and react only out of hysterical emotion.

Even when he’s right, he’s wrong. Here’s an example, with Reich states some true (but awesome) things about what’s likely to happen under a second Trump administration.

“Fully unhinged.” Really, Bob? A majority of Americans don’t, actually, like illegal immigration. They would like to see people who are here illegally kicked out, much like homeowners with squatters would like to see those thieves removed.

Commentator James Lindsay calls what Reich is doing the Iron Law of Woke Projection. It means that whatever sin or evil someone like that accuses someone else of is actually a reflection of the accuser’s state of mind. It’s Reich, not Trump, who is “fully unhinged.” It’s a great example of “reversal”—black is white, up is down, fat is beautiful, addiction is health.

But what’s satisfying is seeing household names like Reich encounter the views of real people who don’t live in his rarefied liberal media bubble. Thanks to Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, normal and sane Americans can be heard once again. Check it out:

Ouch, Bob.

Taylor Lorenz Gets Schooled By Don Lemon on LGBT Rights

It’s not often that I find myself praising Don Lemon. The former CNN host is about as biased and left-leaning as television personalities come these days.

Still, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Lemon recently schooled Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz on exactly how free we are in the old U.S. of A.

On “The Don Lemon Show”, apparently his new gig post-CNN, Lemon had Lorenz on as a guest to discuss the ongoing Pro-Palestinian protests happening on college campuses nationwide.

Lemon raises the point that many of the protesters, those who belong to the LGBT community, wouldn’t have any freedoms if they lived in Gaza.

Lorenz, in her typical misinformed manner, claims that gays don’t have any freedoms in places like Texas or Florida, either.

Lemon, to his credit, quickly corrects her:

“Taylor I’m a member of the LGBTQ community, if I go to Texas they’re not going to throw me off a roof.”

Wow, way to go Don Lemon. Spitting facts. He’s of course referring to how homosexuals are treated in many Muslim countries.

Even his former employer CNN did a piece about how accepting ISIS is to the LGBTQ community. See below.

X users quickly refuted Lorenz’s claim, pointing out that Florida has a vibrant gay community in places like Miami Beach and Key West.

Many were also shocked to see her maskless, even though the interview was done via video call. She has rarely been seen without her trusty mask the past four years.

Economics

Top Biden Economist Proves He’s Just as Incompetent as You’d Expect

It should come as no surprise that an economist in the Biden administration knows nothing about economics – and Biden’s 31st Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, Jared Bernstein, has reminded us that’s undoubtedly the case.

Bernstein appeared in a new documentary called “Finding the Money,” which was made by proponents of Modern Monetary Theory, a crank theory that argues the government can endlessly print money without consequences.

“The U.S. government can’t go bankrupt, because we can print our own money,” Bernstein says.

The interviewer then asks, “Like you said, they print the dollar, so why does the government even borrow?”

Bernstein then seemed uncertain in his response. “Again, some of this stuff gets.. some of the language and concepts are just confusing. The government definitely prints money, and it definitely lends that money by selling bonds. Is that what they do? They sell bonds, yeah, they sell bonds. Right? Since they sell bonds, and people buy the bonds, and lend them the money.”

He continued; “A lot of times, at least to my ear with MMT, the language and the concepts can be kind of unnecessarily confusing but there is no question that the government prints money and then it uses that money to um, uh … I guess I’m just, I can’t really, I don’t get it, I don’t know what they’re talking about. . . . It’s like, the government clearly prints money, it does it all the time, and it clearly borrows, otherwise you wouldn’t be having this debt and deficit conversation. So I don’t think there’s anything confusing there.”

The responses to his comment ranged from mockery…. to mockery.

Sadly, Bernstein probably is the most qualified person Biden could’ve found.

Columbia Student Thinks School Should Provide Aid to Protesters, Receives Reality Check Instead

One Columbia University student received a harsh dose of reality recently via a reporter covering the situation at Hamilton Hall.

Student protesters occupied Hamilton Hall on the campus of Columbia University in New York City on Tuesday. PhD-candidate and faculty member Johannah King-Slutzky, spoke to reporters and called for the school to provide food and water to the occupiers, even going so far as to call it “humanitarian aid”.

She had no idea that a reporter with actual common sense was in the crowd. The unnamed reporter pushed back on her false narrative, pointing out that the students chose occupied the building and can leave whenever they want.

“It seems like you’re saying, ‘we want to be revolutionaries, we want to take over this building, now would you please bring us some food’.”

Her statements were quickly fact-checked by X users in the form of Community Notes.

Naturally, reaction to her comments was critical.

Ms. King-Slutzky’s X profile lists her PhD subject as “Romantic Lit + Energy”. This would seem to jibe with the subject of her dissertation: “fantasies of limitless energy in the transatlantic Romantic imagination from 1760-1860”. What that means, I have no idea.

Eager to learn more about limitless energy in transatlantic Romantic imagination, I clicked on her faculty bio on the Columbia University website…aaand it’s been taken down. Sad mascot face.

And what’s with the guy standing behind her? Nice crop-top jean jacket. His look might not go over so well in Gaza.

Race-obsessed Sports “Journalist” Upset About Caitlin Clark’s Shoe Deal Because She’s White

There are few sure things in this world. Death. Taxes. And freezing cold takes from sports writer Mike Freeman.

Freeman, self-described “Sports Race and Inequality Editor” for USA Today, thinks that skin color should be a factor in awarding shoe deals for WNBA players.

I’ll save you the trouble of reading his column. Freeman admits that Clark, the WNBA #1 overall draft pick, deserves a shoe deal.

He argues that fellow WNBA star, 2018 #1 overall pick A’ja Wilson also deserves a shoe deal. One that she will likely get but as yet has not signed.

To justify his position, Freeman points out that the only active shoe deals in the WNBA belong to Breanna Stewart, Elena Delle Donne, and Sabrina Ionescu.

“You may notice a pattern there.” No, Mike. The average American is not obsessed with race and therefore does not see a pattern here.

Freeman goes on to detail how from 1995-2011, only black WNBA players had shoe deals, starting with Sheryl Swoops signing with Nike.

The fact that for nearly half of the league’s history, no white woman had a shoe deal seems to be okay with Mr. Freeman. After all, it’s apparently okay to be racist against whites.

Finally, the cherry on the top of this hard-hitting piece of journalism, Freeman calls his readers “fools” if they believe the white women got their shoe deals because of their talent on the court. He believes it is because they are “more marketable” than black players.

Reaction was typical on X. People weren’t having it.

What do you think?

Republicans Favored In All Demographics Except One, New Poll Shows

A new poll from Edison Research Network shows that Americans tend to favor Republicans in every demographic except one.

When they broke down over 18,000 respondents by gender and marital status, nearly 70% of unmarried women preferred Democrats over Republicans.

In every other category, married men, married women, and unmarried men, Republicans were the favorite.

What does this information tell us about ourselves?

It tells us that liberal, utopian, socialist ideology might sound good when you’re young. But when you “grow up” and have a family to provide for, you quickly see the light.

It also tells us that the woke, green-haired, perpetually-offended Karens are the minority and do not represent the sentiment of most Americans.

X users were quick to confirm the results of the poll.

Based on your experience, is this poll accurate?
