China Builds Carrier Fleet That Reshapes Pacific Power Dynamics

China’s navy is steadily narrowing the gap with U.S. forces in the Pacific as the People’s Liberation Army Navy expands a modern carrier fleet and a growing cadre of amphibious ships, signaling a strategic shift that demands careful attention from policymakers and alliance partners alike.

This trend underscores a broader push to improve naval aviation, power projection, and regional influence in an era of evolving maritime competition.

The Type 003 Fujian, domestically built, uses electromagnetic catapults, a feature that marks a meaningful step toward parity with Western flattops.

That capability increases launch rates and widens the mix of aircraft the ship can field, including fighters, airborne early warning, and unmanned systems, signaling a substantive leap beyond earlier Chinese carriers.

Open-source analysis has signaled that China may be pursuing a nuclear-powered supercarrier, a move that, if realized, would place it among the select ranks of nations with such vessels and would greatly extend its reach and endurance in the theater.

If confirmed, this development would represent a significant shift in how the PLAN plans to operate at long ranges and sustain air operations without frequent refueling.

The newest Type 076 amphibious assault ship, Sichuan, recently began sea trials and, like the Fujian, is equipped with an electromagnetic catapult system for both manned aircraft and drones.

If Beijing ever contemplates an operation against Taiwan, ships like Sichuan could launch drones while keeping valuable pilots and airframes safer ashore, leveraging land-based airpower to support maritime operations.

China’s New Fujian Aircraft Carrier Now Undergoing Advanced Sea Trial

Taken together, these flattops serve multiple purposes in China’s long-term strategy by projecting power, building naval aviation experience, and widening the defensive perimeter beyond the First Island Chain that runs from Japan to Indonesia.

They are part of a broader plan to extend China’s reach while developing the competencies needed to operate complex carrier aviation at scale.

China’s carrier program has evolved from the Soviet-era Liaoning, a vessel acquired and renamed, to the Type 002 Shandong, and now to the Fujian, which comes much closer in size to American supercarriers.

The Fujian also features three electromagnetic catapults, compared with the Ford-class carrier’s four, a design choice that preserves range while enabling a higher sortie rate than before.

The Fujian’s electromagnetic catapults push the ship to launch a broader array of aircraft, including the J-15 Flying Shark, the J-35 stealth fighter, the GJ-11 stealth drone, and the KJ-600 airborne early warning aircraft.

This mix broadens the carrier’s mission set and increases its ability to operate in a contested environment with both manned and unmanned assets.

Satellite imagery from Shanghai’s Jiangnan shipyard has raised the possibility that Type 004 could be nuclear powered, a development that would give the vessel nearly unlimited range and the ability to operate far from home ports.

Yet operating nuclear carriers successfully requires disciplined maintenance, highly trained engineering teams, and decades of refinement, underscoring the caution with which such capability must be pursued.

Analysts observing the pace of PLAN expansion argue that U.S. policymakers and allied forces must adapt with both deterrence and modernization to preserve balance in the Indo-Pacific.

A focus on modernizing fleets, strengthening interoperability with partners, and maintaining credible deterrence will be essential as China’s carrier program continues to mature.

Jim Acosta Triggered by Trump’s Manhandling of the Media, Calls for Boycott

Former CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta urged major media outlets to coordinate a unified response to President Donald Trump’s comments toward journalists, saying news organizations should consider withholding coverage unless the president changes his approach.

Acosta made the remarks Saturday during an appearance on MS NOW, previously known as MSNBC.

The discussion centered on an exchange earlier this month between the president and Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey.

During a press event, Lucey questioned President Trump about files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

The president responded by telling her to be “quiet, piggy.”

Acosta called the remark “disgusting” and compared it to behavior that would lead to termination in a traditional workplace.

Acosta said other reporters should have intervened when the remark was made.

“Other folks in the press in the room should speak up in that moment and say, ‘Mr. President, that is not appropriate,’” he said.

He added that journalists should continue asking the original question.

“Why didn’t you answer that question? Why are you resorting to personal attacks? Why can’t you take the heat? What’s going on here?”

During the interview, Acosta said news organizations may need to coordinate their actions.

“I think the only solution to all of this is collective action,” he said.

He proposed that major newspapers and television networks send a written message to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

According to Acosta, the letter would warn that if the president continues making similar remarks to journalists, those outlets would temporarily stop attending Oval Office press availabilities or traveling aboard Air Force One.

Acosta suggested the message could state, “You can have Fox and all these other sycophantic outlets covering you, but we’re just not going to do it. We’re going to take a break for a while until you clean up your act.”

Acosta has had several public disputes with President Trump dating back to the president’s first term.

One of the highest-profile confrontations occurred in November 2018 during a press conference following the midterm elections.

Acosta questioned President Trump about his characterization of a migrant caravan from Latin America as an “invasion,” resulting in an extended exchange between the two.

The president repeatedly instructed Acosta to sit down and surrender the microphone.

He called Acosta a “rude, terrible person” and said the reporter treated then-Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders unfairly.

The White House later suspended Acosta’s press credentials, alleging that he made physical contact with an intern who attempted to take the microphone.

President Trump told him at the time, “CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them.”

Acosta announced in January that he was leaving CNN.

Following the announcement, President Trump commented on Truth Social, calling him a “major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up.”

Acosta’s remarks on MS NOW mark one of his first major televised interviews since his departure from CNN.

White House Launches Fake News ‘Hall of Shame’ and ‘Media Offender of the Week’

The White House on Friday launched a new website aimed at highlighting what it describes as left-wing media bias, including sections titled “Media Offender of the Week” and an “Offender Hall of Shame.”

The rollout comes amid ongoing disputes between the administration and several news organizations over coverage of President Donald Trump’s recent statements regarding Democratic lawmakers.

The site currently lists CBS News, the Boston Globe, and the Independent as its “Media Offender of the Week.”

According to the White House, the designation is based on the outlets’ reporting on President Trump’s responses to a video released by a group of Democratic members of Congress.

The administration said those outlets inaccurately characterized the president’s remarks as calling for “execution” of the lawmakers.

On November 18, Sens. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mark Kelly of Arizona, along with Reps. Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, Jason Crow of Colorado, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, and Chris Deluzio of Pennsylvania, published a video addressing servicemembers and intelligence officers.

In the video, they said that personnel “can refuse illegal orders,” suggesting that President Trump had issued unlawful directives, though they did not specify what orders they were referencing.

In response to reporting on the video and the lawmakers’ statements, President Trump posted on Truth Social.

“This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???” he wrote in one post.

In another, he wrote, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

The new White House site features a fact-check format with labeled sections. Under a heading titled “The Offense,” the page states, “The media misrepresented President Trump’s call for Members of Congress to be held accountable for inciting sedition by saying that he called for their ‘execution.’”

A second heading labeled “The Truth” reads, “The Democrats and Fake News Media subversively implied that President Trump had issued illegal orders to service members. Every order President Trump has issued has been lawful.”

The page continues, “It is dangerous for sitting Members of Congress to incite insubordination in the United States military, and President Trump called for them to be held accountable.”

Farther down the site is the “Offender Hall of Shame,” which currently includes the Washington Post, CBS News, CNN, and MSNBC.

The White House describes the list as a collection of outlets it believes have repeatedly mischaracterized statements or issues involving the administration.

The website also contains a running list of claims it labels false or misleading.

These entries are organized into categories such as “Bias,” “Malpractice,” “Lie,” and “Left-wing lunacy.”

Each category includes links to specific examples the administration says demonstrate inaccurate reporting or misrepresentation.

The site features a “Leaderboard” ranking outlets based on the number of entries assigned to them by the White House.

The Washington Post is currently ranked first overall, followed by MSNBC and CBS News. CNN, the New York Times, Politico, and the Wall Street Journal also appear on the leaderboard.

The administration said the site will continue to be updated with new entries.

The launch comes as media organizations and the White House remain at odds over how recent statements by lawmakers and responses from the president have been framed in news coverage.

Jasmine Crockett Refuses to Retract Epstein Smear Against Zeldin Despite FEC Records

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett declined Sunday to withdraw her accusation that Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin accepted campaign contributions from Jeffrey Epstein, even after being shown that the donations she cited came from a different individual with the same name.

Crockett made the claim on the House floor on Nov. 18.

The contributions in question were not from the deceased sex offender, who died in 2019, but from a physician named Jeffrey Epstein who donated to Zeldin in 2020.

The issue resurfaced during Crockett’s appearance on MS NOW’s “The Weekend,” hosted by Jacqueline Alemany.

Alemany noted Crockett’s comments and said the congresswoman had made news by “mistakenly” accusing Zeldin and other Republicans of accepting money from the sex offender.

Crockett interrupted to state that her accusation was not accidental. Alemany then told her that Federal Election Commission data showed Zeldin and the other lawmakers identified by Crockett did not receive donations from the deceased Epstein.

“I want to give you the opportunity to amend that,” Alemany said.

“I have no amendments,” Crockett replied, again defending her original comments.

She said she did not have enough time before her floor speech to determine which Jeffrey Epstein had made the contributions.

“I had maybe 20 minutes. We researched the FEC and, because I like to speak with specificity — that’s kind of what comes with being an attorney — I made clear that there was a Jeffrey Epstein,” Crockett said.

She added that she did not have sufficient time to research the matter fully.

“They knew on the other side that I did not have time to actually pull up and actually research, especially since that particular one that Lee Zeldin got up in an uproar about was specifically out of the New York area. We know that he was out of that area and this obviously was not done post Jeffrey Epstein’s life, so I made sure that I said ‘a Jeffrey Epstein.’”

Alemany noted that the physician named Jeffrey Epstein made the donations in 2020, one year after the sex offender’s death. She then pressed Crockett further.

“But you were trying to insinuate that it was the Jeffrey Epstein,” Alemany said.

“Oh, I absolutely was insinuating that it could be possible. That is true,” Crockett responded.

She said she avoided directly naming the deceased Epstein because she could not verify the source of the donations at the time.

“But the point is, I never said that it was that specific one because I did not have the adequate time to do it. And so the Jeffrey Epstein has stepped forward and that’s not like, you know, a normal name. And I think that what would have been problematic is if I would have claimed that, say, that happened and it legitimately never happened. So ultimately, he cleared the record. I have not researched further. I’ve not talked to this doctor.”

Alemany asked Crockett to acknowledge that Zeldin did not receive money from the deceased sex offender. Crockett did not directly do so.

“I can agree that Lee Zeldin has said that he’s not received money from the Jeffrey Epstein,” she said. “Absolutely.”

Portland’s Annual Lighting Event Avoids the Word “Christmas,” Draws Online Criticism

Portland’s annual lighting event in Pioneer Courthouse Square avoided using the word “Christmas” throughout its 41st ceremony on Friday night, referring to the city’s 75-foot fir only as “the tree” in promotional materials, stage remarks, and the program itself.

The choice drew attention as thousands gathered downtown for the event.

The ceremony opened with a woman from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs thanking attendees for coming out on Native American Heritage Day.

She introduced two younger members of the tribe, who described the gathering solely as “the tree lighting” before turning the microphone over to the next scheduled speaker.

A woman draped in a Palestinian flag then addressed the crowd.

Early in her remarks, she said, “This is the perfect time to bring this up. There are a lot of genocides going on.”

She continued, “Can I get a ‘free, free Palestine,’” a line that prompted some in the square to respond.

She then led the “Strong Woman Song” with two children and another woman, adding that it “felt appropriate since we’re representing our matriarchs up here.”

While references to Christmas were absent from the event’s program and stage announcements, the city included a Santa Claus for photos and a sing-along of traditional carols.

Songs performed included “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Deck the Halls,” and families lined up for photos before and after the lighting.

Mayor Keith Wilson took the stage nearly an hour into the program.

He appeared with Santa Claus and city representatives and led the countdown before the 10,000 bulbs on the tree were illuminated.

The ceremony proceeded without interruption, and attendees remained in the square as the lights came on.

After the event, social media users reacted to the omission of the word “Christmas.”

One user wrote on X, “They can’t even say Christmas tree in Portland. They call it ‘the tree.’”

Another asked, “WHY DOES everything have to be so DIVISIVE??!!”

A separate commenter wrote, “It’s a Christmas tree, it’s always been a Christmas tree, and it will always be a Christmas tree.”

Others compared Portland’s event to celebrations in other parts of the country.

“Just saw a Christmas parade in Texas and everyone was saying Merry Christmas. God bless Texas,” one user posted.

The city has not issued a statement addressing the terminology used in the ceremony or the reactions that followed.

The lighting remains one of Portland’s annual public gatherings, marking the beginning of the holiday season in the downtown area.

Chaos on Fifth Avenue as Pro-Palestinian Protesters Rush ZARA Store, NYPD Makes Arrests

At least four people were arrested after a group of pro-Palestinian protesters stormed a ZARA store in New York City on Black Friday, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to Fox News.

The incident took place at the retailer’s Fifth Avenue location in Midtown Manhattan.

According to the report, protesters blew whistles and waved Palestinian flags as they demonstrated outside the store.

One woman yelled, “They fund the genocide, Free Palestine!”

Another protester shouted at employees, “ZARA is a genocidal company,” as the crowd gathered near the entrance.

NYPD officials said officers responded to what they described as a planned protest involving roughly 70 demonstrators.

Video footage showed several protesters rushing into the ZARA store before police quickly escorted them back outside.

Officers remained stationed at the entrance as the crowd continued to chant and wave signs.

The group was later seen outside the nearby Microsoft store, where additional video showed protesters continuing their demonstration along the heavily trafficked shopping corridor.

The New York Daily News reported that police also made arrests after pro-Palestinian protesters blocked the Apple Store in the same area.

Demonstrators there held signs with messages including, “Think before you buy” and “Israel is killing children.”

Officers moved in to disperse the group after they blocked access to the store.

NYPD said the investigation into the incidents remains ongoing.

Free Beer: Idaho Saloon Sparks Frenzy with Offer to Help Deport Illegal Aliens

A bar in Eagle, Idaho, has gained national attention after offering free beer to anyone who assists Immigration and Customs Enforcement in identifying and deporting an illegal alien.

The Old State Saloon posted the promotion on X on Saturday, telling followers that “anyone who helps ICE identify and ultimately deport an illegal from Idaho gets FREE BEER FOR ONE MONTH.”

The saloon added that it “may award multiple months to one person if multiple illegals are deported.”

The announcement instructed participants to send evidence, including photos and videos, to

to claim the reward.

The Department of Homeland Security reposted the promotion with a GIF reacting to the offer.

The saloon also replied to a post by saying, “Let’s go! Deport them all!”

Online users responded with both support and criticism. One user asked the saloon whether it could create a leaderboard and name a “Deporter of the Year,” who would receive additional free beer at the end of the year.

According to a follow-up post from the saloon, at least one person has already been approved for the promotion.

The bar said that Ryan Spoon, vice chair of the Ada County Republican Central Committee, qualified for free beer from any of the bar’s 20 draft options after providing evidence that he helped ICE make an arrest.

Bo Loudon, a conservative Gen Z influencer, responded to the announcement by calling the promotion an “incredible idea” on X.

“This is why I love the United States,” he wrote.

Some users criticized the promotion and called for a boycott of the Old State Saloon.

The business posted screenshots of negative Google reviews and commented that “1 star reviews roll in from the loser LEFT.”

The bar’s social media biography states that “liberals around the world hate us,” and identifies the saloon as the “Birthplace of Heterosexual Awesomeness Month.”

In 2024, owner Mark Fitzpatrick said the establishment would promote “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” during June, offering discounts and free beer for heterosexual men, women, and couples in response to Pride Month.

The saloon also sells merchandise through its website.

Items include shirts with slogans such as “Make America Straight Again.”

Trump Floats Eliminating Income Tax as Tariff Revenue Sets New Record High in October

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States may “completely” cut federal income taxes in the coming years, stating that tariff revenue could be large enough to replace the current system.

Trump made the remarks during his Thanksgiving address, where he outlined what he described as a major shift in how the federal government could collect revenue.

“The next couple of years I think we’ll be substantially cutting, and maybe cutting out completely, but we’ll be cutting income tax. Could be almost completely cutting it because the money we’re going to be taking in is so large. Other countries have been ripping us off for many years,” Trump said.

His comments followed earlier statements made throughout 2024, during which he proposed returning the country to a tax structure centered on tariffs rather than income taxes.

Trump has raised the possibility of eliminating the federal income tax several times over the past year.

In October, CNN reported that he discussed the idea with barbers in the Bronx. According to that report, Trump said, “There is a way, if what I’m planning comes out,” and added, “In the 1890s … it had all tariffs. It didn’t have an income tax.”

Those remarks drew attention to historical periods when tariffs served as the primary source of federal revenue, before the modern income tax system was created in the early 20th century.

The concept resurfaced days later during Trump’s appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

In that interview, Rogan asked about the prospect of replacing the federal income tax with tariffs.

Trump responded, “Yeah, sure, why not?”

Thursday’s Thanksgiving address marked the first time Trump suggested a specific timeline, stating that the next “couple of years” could bring substantial reductions or a near-total removal of federal income taxes.

The proposal relies on the idea that increased tariffs on imported goods would produce enough federal revenue to offset the elimination of income tax collections.

Trump’s statements throughout 2024 have referenced the late 19th century, when the federal government relied heavily on tariffs.

The modern federal income tax system was introduced after the ratification of the 16th Amendment in 1913, establishing a national tax on individual earnings.

Trump pointed to earlier periods as examples of how the government operated without income taxes, though he did not outline a specific tariff structure in his recent comments.

During his Thanksgiving remarks, Trump reiterated his view that foreign countries have benefitted from trade imbalances and that tariffs would serve as a corrective measure.

He argued that the revenue generated under a new tariff system could be significant enough to replace the federal income tax.

While discussing the potential shift, he said the money taken in from tariffs would be “so large” that it could allow the government to move away from the current tax structure.

Trump’s comments have drawn periodic attention as he continues to promote the idea of tariff-based revenue.

His statements in October and during his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience showed a consistent message about exploring alternatives to federal income taxes.

The Thanksgiving address provided additional clarity on the timeline he envisions for such changes, though no further specifics were provided regarding implementation details or any legislative steps.

Trump’s remarks represent the latest in a series of discussions about the possibility of reducing or eliminating income taxes.

His Thanksgiving comments were consistent with his earlier statements but included the suggestion that significant changes could occur within the next few years under a tariff-based system.

Trump Cooks ‘Seriously Retarded’ Tim Walz Like a Thanksgiving Turkey

President Donald Trump issued a Thanksgiving message that focused heavily on immigration policy and included direct criticism of Minnesota officials.

The message, posted Thursday on X, came one day after two National Guard members were ambushed in Washington, DC, in an attack that left one soldier dead and another critically injured.

Trump’s post addressed what he described as problems tied to immigration and the presence of foreign populations in the United States. In his message, he said, “A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being ‘Politically Correct,’ and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration.” He cited census figures as he described the foreign population and its impact, writing, “The official United States Foreign population stands at 53 million people (Census), most of which are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.”

Trump continued by stating that these populations are “supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens” and added that those citizens “do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form.”

He said the situation “is eating them alive to do so” and claimed that “A migrant earning $30,000 with a green card will get roughly $50,000 in yearly benefits for their family.”

Trump also wrote that “The real migrant population is much higher,” while attributing a range of domestic problems to the arrival of refugees. According to the message, “This refugee burden is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America, something that did not exist after World War II (Failed schools, high crime, urban decay, overcrowded hospitals, housing shortages, and large deficits, etc.).”

Trump referenced Minnesota as an example of what he described as consequences tied to refugee settlement.

He wrote, “As an example, hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota. Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for ‘prey’ as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone.”

He criticized Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz directly, stating, “The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both,” and also directed criticism at Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Trump wrote that Omar “does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how ‘badly’ she is treated,” and referenced her background by saying she “probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother.”

He described her place of origin as “a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc…”

The Thanksgiving message followed the attack on two National Guard members in Washington, DC, on Thanksgiving Eve.

The victims were ambushed while on duty in the capital.

One of the soldiers, Sarah Breckstrom, 20, died the next day.

Her father had previously said that no recovery was possible.

The second National Guard member remains in critical condition following the incident.

Trump’s remarks on X were issued the day after the attack and referenced broader themes he has connected to immigration throughout the year.

TDS Infected Radicals Rush to Blame Trump for Terrorist Attack on National Guardsmen

Two members of the National Guard were shot in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a wave of online criticism from prominent liberal commentators who blamed President Donald Trump for the attack.

The shooting occurred a block from the White House shortly before 3 p.m. local time. Both guardsmen remained in critical condition as of Wednesday evening.

The troops were part of the National Guard surge President Trump ordered in August in response to rising crime in the capital.

The deployment followed several high-profile incidents, including the fatal shooting of a congressional intern earlier this year.

Democrats had opposed Trump’s decision to deploy Guard units to Washington and other cities, characterizing the move as an overreach of presidential authority.

Within hours of the shooting, several commentators revived those criticisms.

Former ESPN and MSNBC host Keith Olbermann wrote on X, “Trump put them in harm’s way, fash.”

Jane Mayer of The New Yorker said the “poor guardsmen should never have been deployed,” adding that they had “virtually nothing to do but pick up trash.”

She wrote on X, “It was for political show and at what a cost.”

Author and activist John Pavlovitz similarly argued on BlueSky that “Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are culpable for endangering the National Guard by putting them in harm’s way.”

— John Pavlovitz (@johnpavlovitz.bsky.social) November 26, 2025 at 4:21 PM

Writer Charlotte Clymer told her more than 200,000 followers on BlueSky that the troops had been “used as political pawns,” adding, “They sign up to serve their country, not needlessly deploy to American cities to pick up garbage.”

National Guard troops don’t sign up to be used as political pawns. They sign up to serve their country, not needlessly deploy to American cities to pick up garbage. These two soldiers should be alive right now and at home with their families for Thanksgiving. I’m furious.

— Charlotte Clymer (@charlotteclymer.bsky.social) November 26, 2025 at 4:14 PM

Media personality Keith Edwards posted on X that the guardsmen would have been “fine” were it not for “Trump’s illegal deployment of the national guard for a non-emergency.”

The X account “Call to Activism,” run by commentator Joe Gallina, told its more than 1 million followers, “History will wonder what we’re all thinking: why did Trump have to put them in harm’s way for a STUNT?”

Other social media users made similar claims. One post with thousands of likes described the shooting as an “orchestrated tragedy by a president hellbent on creating a tinder box environment across the country.”

Brian Beutler, a writer and former senior editor at The New Republic, reacted to an earlier incorrect claim from West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey that the guardsmen had died, writing that Morrisey had “sent them to die for a stunt.”

Despite the online criticism, violent crime in Washington fell significantly during the initial one-month National Guard surge.

According to city data, violent crime dropped 39% compared to the same period the year before, including a 53% decline in homicides.

Opposition to Trump’s National Guard deployments has persisted since the summer.

In August, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker called the president’s decision to send Guard units into his state an “attack on the American people” and claimed it would be used to “stop the 2026 elections.”

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that one suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday.

President Trump responded on Truth Social shortly after the attack, writing that the “animals” responsible for shooting the guardsmen will “pay a very steep price.”

Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth later announced that 500 additional troops would be deployed following the incident.
