“Release The Names” – Report Into Congress Settlements Resurfaces

On Friday, May 31, 2024, a seven-year-old article about hush money payments was shared by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie.

The story from CNN focuses on a report released by the Office of Compliance, effectively revealing that, from 1997 to 2017, Congress paid out more than $17 million in settlements.

There have been over 268 settlements across the 20-year period, all of which came from taxpayers’ money through a special fund within the U.S. Treasury. This was made possible by the passing of the Congressional Accountability Act in 1995.

While it was unclear as to how much of the $17million was for sexual harassment-related settlements due to the complex reporting system within the Office of Compliance, a source familiar with the process told the network that more than two-fifths of harassment claims are settled after mediation.

Yesterday (Thursday), Donald Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony following his five-week hush money trial in the Democrat-leaning suburb of Manhatton.

After the initial shock at such a landmark decision, social media users flocked to Rep. Massie’s post on X.

Many saw the hypocritical side of Congress, particularly given the seismic differences between Trump’s $130,000 case and Congress’ $17 million use of taxpayer money.

Far more users, however, called for Congress to release the names of those who had been involved with the settlements, with one user claiming that “everything is fair game now”.

What’s your view? Does this seem hypocritical by Congress? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Donald Trump Is Convicted – And He’s Better Positioned Than Ever to Win in 2024

Thursday, May 30, 2024, will go down as a landmark date in the history of the United States.

Donald Trump’s criminal conviction was arguably expected; staunch MAGA supporters have long suspected him to be the victim of a politically motivated witch hunt, while the former president’s fiercest critics have labelled him guilty for years.

Even still, the guilty verdict was no less shocking when it was announced just after 5pm EST.

What happens in the long run is anyone’s guess, but, importantly, the conviction bares no theoretical impact on Trump’s ability to run for President. He is a natural-born citizen of the United States, has been a resident for at least 14 years, and is over 35 years old. There’s solid evidence that this is benefitting Trump in the immediate term, however, with him seeing a massive 6-point increase in his approval rating after the conviction. In other words, on net basis, Americans are seeing the conviction as resulting from a politically motivated witch hunt.

Additionally, Trump saw donations pour in so fast after the verdict that it crashed WinRed’s website. It’s since been revealed that the Trump campaign shattered a fundraising record, bringing in an incredible $34.8 million. That sure beats the $25 million that Biden brought in for his star-studded fundraiser back in March that included Barack Obama and Bill Clinton that the liberal media celebrated.

The more prudent question is this: how will the Republican nominee’s conviction affect his standing among American voters? The polling before the trial suggested that Biden will carry the youth vote – but by a thin margin that’s historically low for a Democrat. Among those aged 18-24, a group that overwhelmingly votes Democrat, Biden’s support tanked 25 points from being +32 to only +7. It’ll be interesting to track this to see how it changes.

Similarly, other polling pre-pandemic suggests that Trump will garner the largest share of the black vote since Richard Nixon in his blowout victory.

The bookies have Trump as a greater favorite as Biden since the conviction, with Biden now at +168 (meaning someone would need to bet $100 to win $168), while Trump is at -110 (meaning one needs to bet $110 to win $100). Put in percentages, the odds imply Biden has a 37.3% chance of winning the 2024 election, while Trump has a 52.4% chance.

For some, Trump’s conviction will be the final straw, but there doesn’t appear to be many Americans in that boat.

Regardless, insufferable liberals were happy to gloat about what will likely be a short-lived victory.

On the other hand, many have pledged their support for the Republican in light of the jury’s conviction.

And for others, Trump’s conviction has done little to change their minds on the upcoming Presidential Election.

To be fair, people like that were unlikely to have voted for Trump under any circumstances.

Only time will tell if Trump’s conviction changes the race for the White House – but so far it’s looking like a positive.

What’s your view? Has the trial changed how you plan to vote this November, or does it have no effect at all? Let us know in the comments below.

Joe Biden Needs The Black Vote… But It Isn’t Going Well

President Joe Biden’s efforts to secure a large percentage of the Black vote in November’s presidential election isn’t going to plan.

Biden needs support from Black voters in order to win a second successive term in the White House. However, only 62% of Black Americans are “absolutely certain” they will cast their ballot when the country goes to the polls, and those that do intend to vote are increasing their support for Donald Trump. If polling becomes reality, Trump will win a larger share of the black vote than any Republican since Richard Nixon.

Biden is pulling off all the stops to secure the Black vote, even if the supposedly devout Catholic has ceased his daily visits to the local Baptist church. His defiant posts, filled with policy ideas on how he will improve matters for the Black community, have sought to win back the demographic he needs to secure the White House.

The relaunch of Biden’s Black campaign will take time to reap in the effects, particularly given the current disconnect between the President and his disgruntled voters. On Wednesday, May 29, Biden held a rally in Pennsylvania – a key swing state where the winner usually goes on to take the White House.

However, there was a problem. While it’s all well and good campaigning under a Black Voters for Biden/Harris banner, it’s intended impact is limited when attendance is miniscule.

When pictures first emerged at 2pm EST, critics were quick to point out the comparison with Trump’s support in the largely Black Bronx area of New York.

Ultimately, Black Americans are divided over the president, with his campaign seeking to unify Black voters against his Republican rival.

Nevertheless, people engage with pictures over words in today’s digital era. If Biden’s to win the Black vote, he needs to look like he has the support; the scenes from Philadelphia, if Wednesday is to go by, suggests he doesn’t.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ridiculed For Student X Post

It’s not every day that you receive support from a foreign dictator.

For university students across America, however, that became a reality when Supreme Leader of Iran Sayyid Ali Khamenei told pro-Palestinian student protesters that they were “standing on the right side of history” in a post on Wednesday, May 29.

Image

Ali Khamenei’s X account is often a painful read; scrolling through his ramblings on X often makes one empathize with those who have spent decades trying to overthrow his authoritarian regime.

“You have now formed a branch of the Resistance Front and have begun an honorable struggle in the face of your government’s ruthless pressure,” he posted out four minutes later.

Needless to say, Ali Khamenei’s post drew criticism pretty quickly.

Iran’s Supreme Leader usually isn’t worth the time nor day in criticizing given the infamous iron grip he has held over the country for 1989. For a start, similar protests in his own country would likely result in death rather than arrest. Moreover, some who are supportive of the Hamas regime are perhaps unaware of the persecution that non-heterosexual individuals face in the country.

If anything hinders Ali Khamenei’s credibility, however, then it’s clearly his country’s lack of sporting success in college football!

What’s your view on the Supreme Leader’s X posts? Is he right in saying that student protesters in a foreign country are standing on the right side of history, or is here merely stirring the pot in an enemy nation? Let us know in the comments below.

Video Shows Moment Biological Male Wins Girls’ 400-meter Race In Washington – and Gets Booed

The organizers of the Washington State Championships have come under heavy fire after a biological man won the girls’ 400-meter race on Memorial Day weekend.

Veronica Garcia, 16, previously known as Davina Brown and Donovan Brown, won a heat race during the competition in Tacoma with a time of 55.59 seconds – more than three seconds faster than the second-place candidate.

In the final, Garcia won with a time of 55.75 seconds, beating runner-up Lauren Matthew by over a second. Boos and jeers could be heard from the audience as Garcia cruised home to victory.

According to the Daily Mail, the winner’s presentation was met with virtual silence despite applause for the other finishers. The publication noted the remarkable improvement in Garcia’s form after coming 164th out of 172 in last year’s boys’ 5000-meter championships.

Some social media users pondered whether the female competitors should have protested further than their unified silence during the presentation ceremony.

Without a doubt, they should have.

Manhunt Underway For Driver Who Performed Donuts On Painted Pride Flag In St. Pete

A driver who performed donuts on a Pride mural in St Petersburg, Florida is being threatened with a felony count of criminal mischief.

St. Petersburg Police released video footage of the anti-Woke driving display which is alleged to have caused more than $1,000 in damage.

Local law enforcement added that it was the second time in a week that a driver had expressed their dissatisfaction at the painted flag. On May 17, at around 9.30am, a truck driver accelerated through the mural leaving tire marks on it.

Mayor of St. Petersburg Ken Welch addressed the protests over the Memorial Day weekend, citing “recent vandalism” as cause of the damage. “I want to emphasize that there is no place for hate in St. Petersburg,” said Welch.

“We stand united in valuing and appreciating every resident, regardless of their orientation, gender identity, or expression. Our differences make St. Pete the vibrant and diverse community we cherish.”

The police appeal and subsequent manhunt prompted humorous reactions from users on the social media platform X.

Others, meanwhile, noted the apparent hypocrisy with Woke extremists seemingly apathetic to the burning of the nation’s flag despite their ardent criticism for defacing the rainbow flag.

Boston Mayor Backed “Do-Not Prosecute” List For So-Called “Low-Level Crimes”

Boston’s Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu’s responses to a 2021 candidate questionnaire – in which she expressed support for a controversial do-not prosecute list – has come to light.

Fox News reports that Wu completed the “2021 Boston Mayoral Candidate Questionnaire” prior to her election. The survey was conducted by Progressive Massachusetts, designed to rank the progressiveness of elected officials and potential candidates.

According to her responses, Wu expressed support for allowing noncitizens to vote in the city’s local elections. She also responded “yes” when asked about the closing of the Boston Police gang database.

Most controversial though was her response to a policy memo enacted by former Suffolk County District Attorney, Rachael Rollins. Under the policy, “low-level” crimes including shoplifting, driving while suspended, destruction of property and threats, would not be prosecuted should an offender be caught.

In response to this topic as part of the survey, Wu expressed her support for the list.

Social media users were mixed in their responses, highlighting the vagueness of some crimes listed in the list.

Others disagreed with the policy enactments, expressing concern over the impact it could have on crime levels.

The do-not prosecute list can be found here, and includes 15 “non-violent” crimes. Take a look and let us know whether you agree or disagree with Mayor Wu’s support for it.

Mom With FOUR Transgender Kids Under Fire for Statistical Impossibility

A mom of four came under heavy criticism after she claimed all four of her children were transgender in a viral internet clip.

In a clip posted on social media platform X, the woman said all her children were transgender and “part of the LGBTQ community.”

“I love them, I support them; why would you do anything different as a parent?” she asked in the clip. “If you can’t, as a parent, say you love and support your children and accept them for who they are… give them to somebody else. There’s someone out there who will.”

Even if we were to take a liberal figure of 0.5% of the U.S. population being transgender, the odds of having one transgender child are 1 in 200; the odds of having four, by comparison, are 1 in 1,600,000,000. Purchasing a winning lottery ticket would be far more likely.

Many social medias users were critical of the woman’s parenting skills given the extraordinarily low chance of having four transgender children.

Others noted the astoundingly high odds of such a scenario, highlighting that her odds of winning the lottery were actually greater.

While four transgender children is a statistical impossibility, one mother with Munchausen by proxy is a statistical likelihood.

Ilhan Omar And Cori Bush Mix-Up Memorial Day With Veterans Day In Deleted Posts

Leftist House Reps. Ilhan Omar and Cori Bush suffered an embarrassing humiliation over the weekend after confusing Memorial Day with Veterans Day.

The two Democrats posted similar comments on X before they were hastily deleted on Memorial Day.

Reps. Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush have each since deleted their posts.

Rep. Omar said, “we honor the heroic men and women who served our country”, adding that “they have more than earned access to quality mental health services, job opportunities, housing assistance, and the benefits they were promised”.

Likewise, Rep. Bush said Memorial Day was an opportunity to “honor our veterans”, calling for investment in “universal health care, affordable housing, comprehensive mental health services, and educational and economic opportunities”.

Social media users were quick to point out that Memorial Day serves to honor those who gave their lives fighting for the United States.

Both Omar and Bush posted amended comments later on Memorial Day, but it did little to quash the mockery and outrage from those who had seen the earlier remarks.

While we can speculate if the left really is sending their best and brightest in the likes of Bush and Omar – the answer sadly, is yes.

Even the Libertarian Party Has Gone Woke

America’s third-largest party has been accused of going woke after choosing Chase Oliver as its Presidential Election nominee.

The Libertarian Party has typically been associated with an emphasis on civil liberties and economic freedom. Its new candidate, however, contradicts these principles.

The 38-year-old has previously expressed support for an open border, while also describing the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests as “peaceful” in his opposition to Atlanta’s Cop City.

A former pro-Obama Democrat, Oliver advocated vaccine and mask mandates during the pandemic, comparing the latter to “wearing a shirt when you enter a gas station.” In addition, he has also focused his efforts on transgender issues, going as far as advocating the participation of men in women’s sports.

Furthermore, in a recent interview, Oliver compared drag queen stories with The Wiggles, claiming that 99% of them were acceptable for children.

The Libertarian Party is currently polling around 1% nationwide. Its nomination process came amid fellow candidates Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. seeking an endorsement for their Republican and Independent campaigns respectively.

In an amusing bit, Trump mocked Libertarian Party members booing him to their faces. “You should nominate me or at least vote for me,” Trump said to the crowd. “Only do that if you want to win. If you want to lose, don’t do that. Keep getting your three percent every four years.”
