Molson Coors, best known for producing Coors and Miller Lite, has announced a swathe of changes to its diversity, equity, and inclusion policies in an attempt to avoid the Bud Lite treatment.
The beer giant is the latest to reverse its woke corporate policies amid a growing campaign by conservative activist Robby Starbuck.
So far under his social media campaign, Starbuck has pushed changes at farmyard manufacturers John Deere and Tractor Supply. As momentum has grown in recent weeks, automobile giants Ford and Harley-Davidson have also scaled back DEI initiatives while home improvement outlet Lowe’s has also joined the trend.
Molson Coors announced the changes in a letter to employees shared by Starbuck on Monday, September 3.
DEI-based training programs have been scrapped, as have donations to “divisive events” such as Pride. Supplier diversity goals and compensation tied to DEI hiring targets are also gone, while employee resource groups will no longer focus on race or sexual orientation.
Like many of the aforementioned corporations, Molson Coors will also be withdrawing from the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index which gauges how LGBTQ+-friendly a workplace is.
“Our campaigns are so effective that we’re getting multi-billion-dollar organizations to change their policies without me even posting just from the fear they have of being the next company that we expose,” Starbuck wrote on social media. “The landscape of corporate America is quickly shifting to sanity and neutrality. We are now the trend, not the anomaly.”
Alongside the ever-deserved praise for Starbuck, some raised concerns over whether large-scale corporations follow through on their pledges to revoke woke.
For much of the 2024 Presidential Election campaign, Democrats have tried desperately to tie Donald Trump to Project 2025.
The Heritage Foundation’s roadmap for a second Trump presidency has little to do with the Republican candidate. In fact, persistent Democratic claims that the former president plans to implement Project 2025 upon a return to the White House have even forced CNN into fact-checking mode.
The Democrats continue to push the policy framework in fearmongering efforts to capture moderate voters despite knowing such claims Trump will implement it are false. It’s a key part of their campaign, particularly as Republicans spare little time to defend such dubious accusations.
Even then, the left is struggling to get it right. Left-wing MSNBC broadcaster Joy Reid accidentally shared Trump’s “current campaign website” which, as clear as day, showcased Agenda 47 – not Project 2025.
“What happened to the Platinum Plan?” Reid asked, as she continued to scroll through Trump’s policy ideas. “What I do see, however, is this; Donald Trump’s current plan which is, in his current website where he’s showing his policies he would implement in a second Trump term, [to] cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, radical gender ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.”
She somehow didn’t realize that she was quoting Trump’s actual policy and not the Project 2025 policies she was trying to wrongly attribute to them. As many pointed out on social media, Reid is effectively advocating a vote for Trump given how much sense the policies she quoted from make.
Another user noted that it was nice to see a presidential candidate share their policies online.
Others were less surprised by Reid’s latest cock-up.
Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters has issued new guidance after a public school sought to ban a student from flying an American flag on his car.
The heightened criticism on social media prompted Republican Superintendent Walters to intervene and issue new guidance on patriotic displays at public schools.
“No school in Oklahoma should tell students they can’t wave an American flag,” Walters said in a statement on X. “Americans have fought and died for the right to carry our flag, and no student should ever be targeted for exercising that right. Our young people should never have to fear displaying their patriotism and I will fight every day so that when our students want to express their love for America, they can do so boldly and proudly.”
Under the new guidelines, each school district must establish a policy which ensures the flag of America can be flown “without infringement.” All schools must also recite the Pledge of Allegiance at least once a week in accordance with state law, while all districts are required to submit reports detailing their policies in line with the new guidance.
Many had high praise for Superintendent Walters’ intervention.
Walters himself also responded the widespread publication of his statement.
For the first time in 14 years, the United Kingdom is governed by a Labour government.
In-fighting within the Conservative Party along with a resurgent Reform UK under Nigel Farage led to a split vote across the U.K.’s 650 constituencies. The result? A Labour majority not seen since 2001.
Labour are often seen as socialists by those on the right. While perhaps true for the party under “Comrade” Jeremy Corbyn, Sir Keir Starmer has brought Labour to a more moderate standing with left-wingers comprising a minority.
As with any new government, the honeymoon period fades away sooner or later. More popular governments may enjoy months or even years before current voters turn into ex-supporters.
For Prime Minister Keir Starmer, it’s been a matter of weeks.
His response to the civil unrest across the U.K. at the start of August prompted many critics to call out what they saw as “two-tier policing”, where far-left extremists were seemingly subject to less harsher disciplinary action for their involvement than their right-wing counterparts.
And now he’s really outdone himself.
An annual summer break has, for now, reduced political scrutiny. However, as the kids prepare to return to school – and the MPs to parliament – Sir Keir has announced a new target for his center-left attack: smokers.
The U.K. already has some of the strictest rules against smokers. Taxation has seen a pack of cigarettes rise to as much as $20, while flavored cigs such as menthols have been banned for years. Those now old enough to purchase cigarettes will never have seen smoking inside buildings, while the more swankier pubs now segregate outdoor areas for smokers and non-smokers.
Not content with these strict regulations, Sir Keir is now pledging to restrict where you can light up in public. Beers gardens and nightclubs are among more of the ludicrous bans proposed, with smokers now forced elsewhere. Furthermore, if your sports team is struggling in a must-win fixture, don’t expect to be allowed outside for a stress-relieving cigarette under Starmer’s new rules.
I myself am a former smoker. A switch to IQOS has helped cut down the inhaled toxins when the thought of a Kamala Harris presidency becomes too much to bear. As a Brit who likes a beer or three in the pub garden on a weekend, I am perhaps set to benefit most from the enforced removal of a tempting cigarette on a sunny afternoon.
Yet, I can’t help but feel there are so many ludicrous aspects to the proposed bans. Hospitality received a battering during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the new rules are unlikely to encourage social smokers to take a trip to their local pub.
We also know that the war on drugs simply isn’t working. Where there’s demand, there’s supply, and effectively criminalizing smokers in certain areas will no doubt be yet another step towards an unregulated tobacco industry.
It is, of course, worth remembering that police resources are unable to catch hardened criminals, so there’s also a question of whether this absurd idea will ever actually be enforced. Nevertheless, given that social media posts now lead to jail time in the U.K., it’s likely that the local bobby on the beat will be more than eager to arrest a criminal smoker.
The Prime Minister’s falling approval rating shows many are discontent with his two-month-old premiership thus far. He was elected on a platform as an alternative to a chaotic Conservative Party with many believing he would not invoke left-wing, liberty-crushing policies under his restructured Labour Party.
Yet, in what can only be a warning to the United States, abandoning conservatism has seen little improvement in the country.
Just take one recent example; in California, one town, Carlsbad, California, recently banned smoking and vaping of both cannabis and nicotine products will be banned in private residences, including apartments, condos, and other shared buildings.
Kamala Harris has been accused of flip flopping over the southern border wall – or at least that’s what *she* would like you to believe.
Progress on the brainchild of Donald Trump has been largely stagnant since January 2021, with Democrats strongly opposed to its very existence.
The Democratic nominee previously described the wall as “un-American” and “a medieval vanity project”. She’s also called it a “complete waste of taxpayer money” and “stupid” during her tenure as Sen. for California.
In the video below, you can see a compilation of all the times Harris slammed the concept of a border wall – always for the purpose of attacking Trump.
However, keen to shake off her detested label of the “border czar”, Harris has voiced strong support for an (extremely weak) bipartisan immigration bill which she claims was held back by Trump-supporting lawmakers in Congress. Axois broke the story, with the headline “Harris flip-flops on building the border wall.”
The Vice President’s support for the bill has been known for some time; however, allegations of flip flopping came to light when Sen. James Lankford told Axios that the bill “requires the Trump border wall” in order to pass Congress.
As such, conservatives struck at the opportunity to accuse Harris of flip flopping.
It also raised questions as to whether Harris’ pinching of the idea from Trump signaled a disappointing campaign.
There is, of course, whether her pledges will ever see the light of day.
As if flip-flopping on the issue wasn’t bad enough, Harris’ flip-flop is in name only. Or put differently; she wants you to think she’s flip-flopped on the border, but all she’s changed is her rhetoric, not her actual stance.
As Matt Palumbo pointed out, “While various publications have claimed that Harris has flip-flopped on a border wall, that’s not entirely true.” He went on to quote a report from Just Facts that found; That claim is demonstrably false and is based on a misrepresentation of the Senate Border Act of 2024, which has been repeatedly misportrayed as a “tough” border bill. Axios’ article, written by Alex Thompson and Hans Nichols, claims that Harris promised to build a wall because she announced at the “Democratic National Convention last week” that she “would sign the recent bipartisan border security bill.” And according to a statement obtained by Axios from Republican Senator James Lankford (OK), the bill “requires the Trump border wall.”
Palumbo continues; “Harris’ support of this bill isn’t even anything new – the media is just trying to portray is that way because the border is Harris’ biggest weakness. The bill she’s backing is one that Biden wanted passed – which is enough to tell you it doesn’t actually do anything to secure the border. Furthermore, per Agresti, the bill only makes funds for a border wall available – but it doesn’t actually require a border wall to be built. The only possible reason for making such funds available but not mandating them to be used for their claimed purpose is because they don’t actually want them to go towards a border wall.”
Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, now X, in 2022 has not been short of controversial.
The decision to rename the social media platform is a fine example; Musk’s supporters praise his improvement of the site, while his fiercest critics – if they haven’t already left – long for the days where San Francisco liberals ran the site. Undeniably, though, one of the better additions has been community notes. In short, the notes allow users to add context to any post which may benefit others. Politicians, unexpected, are not the biggest fans…
Nor are media outlets, either. Clickbait journalism and questionable claims are no longer exempt from a contextual background check for all to see. Politico is no exception, which recently tried to put JD Vance on blast for linking Kamala Harris to Joe Biden, the woman who she serves as Vice President for.
The outlet published a story with the widely ridiculed headline “Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally.”
Echoing other mainstream media outlets trying to distance the Vice President from the President, Politico implied that Republican running mate J.D. Vance’s comments were apparently nothing more than speculation.
They, too, were community noted, with it hilariously reading “Harris is currently President Biden’s Vice President.”
Conservatives also added to the context in their subsequent replies.
Days before Politico ran their article, user @ebeth360 made a satirical post of a fake “False” rating from PolitiFact, purporting to rate the claim that Harris is Biden’s VP as “false.” The joke being that the so-called “fact checkers” are willing to bend reality to defend the left. Her post was a joke, but it only took days to become reality in the form of that Politico article.
Kamala Harris is hardly renowned for her fondness or scrutiny or challenging debate.
The Vice President has only agreed to one debate so far on ABC, where she will face Republican challenger Donald Trump in the first debate between the two political rivals.
Reportedly, the ABC debate on Tuesday, September 10, will follow a similar format to that of the CNN debate between Trump and President Joe Biden earlier this year. Microphones will be muted when it is not one candidate’s turn to speak, with no audience, pre-written notes or props permitted.
Harris, however, has been reportedly trying to amend the debate rules ahead of her first one-on-one with the former president. The muting of microphones is a particular sticking point for the Harris campaign despite Trump’s public non-preference over the issue. In fact, the muting was requested by Biden’s campaign team ahead of the CNN debate back in June following the chaos of the 2020 presidential debates, as presumably they thought it would be to the benefit of Biden. Clearly, they’re having second thoughts.
Many conservative commentators have alluded to Harris’ poor performance against the now-independent Tulsi Gabbard in the race for the Democratic nomination in 2019.
In that debate, Gabbard tore Harris’ track record as Attorney General for California to shreds, effectively killing off any momentum the then-Sen.’s campaign had.
Podcaster and veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan slammed MSNBC for editing a clip to make it appear that he’s praising Vice President Kamala Harris.
The clip featured Rogan praising former Democratic Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, but was manipulated to appear as if the remarks were made about Harris. His comments were taken from two separate clips and mashed together as if his praise was for the Democratic presidential nominee.
Rogan brushed aside rumors that he planned to sue MSNBC but said, “They took a clip of me talking about Tulsi Gabbard and they edited it up and made it look like I was saying great things about Kamala Harris.”
“I was talking about Tulsi Gabbard being a congresswoman for eight years and about how she served overseas in two deployments in medical units dealing with people who were blown up from the war. Like that’s not something Kamala Harris did,” Rogan added.
The Joe Rogan Experience host said that his comments were taken “out of context” and shared to an audience who do not regularly watch his content.
Saying that MSNBC “don’t care about the truth”, Rogan added, “They just want a narrative to get out there amongst enough people because most people are just surface readers.”
MSNBC has since deleted the video and added a disclaimer. Nevertheless, concerns remain about the impact the mashed video may have had.
Others noted that such actions by leftist media outlets may drive more people away from the Harris camp.
Many called for Rogan to invite Donald Trump as a guest, particularly given Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s recent endorsement of the Republican.
MSNBC broadcaster Ari Melber launched a furious tirade against Donald Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski on live television in which he threatened to sue the former president’s aide for defamation.
The controversy erupted following a Fox News article reporting on prior remarks made by Melber regarding the bandage on Trump’s ear in the aftermath of the assassination attempt against his life in Butler, PA. A segment from Melber’s show was referenced where the broadcast quote a New York Times article about Trump being his own “biggest prop”. It noted the “large white bandage on his injured right ear”, describing it as “a blank rectangle on which the crowd could read what it wished, and that made it the most potent placard in the hall.”
Reacting to the piece, Melber said, “That’s fair. A placard for delegates to fill in, an image for political mobilization, a spectacle, for this candidate who we know is by his own admission obsessed with assorted spectacles.”
But on Wednesday’s broadcast, Melber had a change of tune and lost it when Lewandowski made reference to it.
“So you didn’t say this bandage was a proper spectacle from a candidate who’s obsessed with spectacles?” Lewandowski asked.
“Mr. Lewandowski, I did not say that. That is a false quote,” Melber responded. “What you have is a false quote. I’m putting you on notice. If you continue to repeat falsely that I said that, you will be potentially in a defamation situation because I didn’t say that.”
Watch the insanity for yourself below:
Social media users reacted to a video which featured the controversial remark and threat of a lawsuit.
Auto giant Ford has become the latest company to withdraw some of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies amid a growing movement by conservative campaigner Robby Starbuck.
Starbuck’s campaign against woke DEI policies has grown momentum over the course of 2024. His initial successes against farmyard manufacturers John Deere and Tractor Supply have expanded onto major corporations such as Harley-Davidson and Lowe’s in recent weeks.
Like others before it, Ford has pledged to withdraw from the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index which ranks employers on how accommodating they are to woke initiatives. There will be no further donations to pride-related events, while employee resource groups will be solely focused on business.
Furthermore, diversity quotas at suppliers or dealerships have been shelved, while Starbuck hinted the CEO had called for a “merit-based approach” with “respect and civility towards all ideologies”.
“This isn’t everything we want but it’s a great start. We’re now forcing multi-billion dollar organizations to change their policies without even posting just from fear they have of being the next company that we expose,” Starbuck told followers on X. “We will continue to communicate with our sources in companies we expose and report on any that step out of line. I can promise that if we have to do a second report, it will be much more aggressive.”
Many held high praise for Starbuck and his campaign.
Others users suggested Starbuck should aim his efforts towards other corporations with woke DEI policies in place.
