Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, delivered a forceful speech during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, criticizing the Trump administration’s immigration policies, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and what she described as racial motivations behind the administration’s approach to immigration, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

“But let’s talk about what this is really about,” Crockett said.

“And I know y’all knew it was coming, especially once I showed up: It’s racist. It’s just racist, racist, racist!”

She continued by explaining why she believes race is central to the administration’s immigration agenda.

“Okay, now let me tell you why it is racist. All right, this ain’t about whether or not you’re concerned that the immigrant is coming in and the immigrant is gonna kill everybody. That is not what it is. It’s not,” Crockett said.

“It’s the things like what your fearless leader said when he said they’re poisoning the blood, okay? What this is about is racism!”

Crockett also criticized President Trump over his administration’s refugee policy regarding White South Africans.

“Let me just be clear: your president, he is the one that said white South African refugees needed their own program, and so therefore he decided that he would raise the cap on how many refugees could come into the United States, but it was only raised for white South Africans. The administration set a limit of 17,500 slots planned to admit more white South Africans as refugees this year,” she said.

The Texas Democrat also criticized ICE, alleging that the agency improperly targets individuals based on appearance and questioning its performance.

According to Crockett, ICE agents are “completely incompetent” and do not “know how to do the daggone job,” while accusing the agency of “specifically targeting people because of how they look.”

Later in her remarks, Crockett discussed indigenous communities and immigration enforcement.

“The people that were here are the indigenous folk, and you know who ICE been rounding up? They’ve been rounding up indigenous people, the people that originally came, not the colonizers, but the original people,” Crockett said.

She then argued that the administration’s broader agenda is tied to race.

“So, what this is about is whiteness. Everything that this administration has pushed has been about white supremacy, your fear. In fact, you say things like, ‘Oh, you just want them to come in so that they will vote for you,’ because we know that when you look at the numbers, I mean, I’m just being real with this, but white people, they not the ones that carry the Democrats. They aren’t. And so this is literally about you say things, you tell on yourselves, you believe that somehow they will become citizens and they will start voting in the interest of equity. Those are the things you fight against when you say no diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Crockett also addressed crime statistics during the hearing, arguing against claims that crime is primarily committed by racial minorities.

“You want to sit up here and act like the crime is being perpetrated by people of color, but the statistics say otherwise. If you look at the real numbers… anybody can commit a crime on any given day.”

She concluded that portion of her remarks by accusing political opponents of promoting misinformation.

“I know that y’all believe in propaganda, and y’all don’t want people to know the truth, and y’all definitely don’t want them to know history, because then you gotta again acknowledge colonizing,” she said.

The exchange occurred as lawmakers debated legislation aimed at making Trump’s border and immigration policies permanent.

That person is the reason that you don’t have the financial or career success that you think that you should have. It’s because of them. We want to take our country back. That’s what MAGA is.”

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill said Tuesday that a software error in the state’s Motor Vehicle Commission system resulted in thousands of non-citizens being registered to vote between June 2023 and June 2024, prompting an investigation and efforts to remove those registrations from the voter rolls, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Sherrill disclosed the issue in a post on X, saying she learned of what she described as a “serious software error” that affected approximately 6,600 people who had indicated they were not U.S. citizens while applying for driver’s licenses or identification cards.

According to the governor, the problem occurred before she took office and involved applicants who answered “no” when asked on a keypad whether they were U.S. citizens.

Despite those responses, the system registered them to vote.

“Last week I learned that a serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office,” Sherrill wrote.

She added, “These individuals answered “no” when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers’ licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.”

Sherrill also said the state’s preliminary review found that fewer than 400 of the individuals who were newly registered because of the error ultimately cast ballots.

“Our preliminary analysis shows fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered for the first time because of the error voted,” she wrote.

“They were registered as Democrats, Republicans, and Unaffiliated voters and were scattered across the state.”

The governor said she immediately directed her administration to investigate the matter after learning about the issue and ordered the removal of those who had been mistakenly added to the voter rolls during the affected period.

“Upon learning this information, I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of what occurred. I also ordered the removal of any residents from our voter rolls who were erroneously added between June 2023 and June 2024.”

Sherrill also announced changes involving the state’s motor vehicle system vendor.

“The new MVC Administrator that I appointed has begun the process of replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system.”

While discussing the issue, the governor criticized President Donald Trump and rejected his past claims regarding election integrity.

“As the Trump Administration tries to weaponize elections for political gain, I am ensuring we protect our elections. Let me be clear: Donald Trump has zero credibility on the issue of election integrity.”

She continued:

“For more than ten years, he has worked to undermine Americans’ faith in our elections by spreading lies about legitimate election results, attempting to overturn a free and fair election, encouraging an attack on our Capitol when he couldn’t accept the will of the voters, and defunding election security at the federal level.”

The disclosure has renewed debate over election security and voter registration safeguards.

Republicans have argued that the incident demonstrates the need for stronger verification measures to prevent non-citizens from being added to voter rolls.

The issue has also drawn attention to proposals such as the SAVE America Act, which supporters say would strengthen citizenship verification requirements during voter registration.

Sherrill maintained that the state is taking corrective action by investigating the software failure, replacing the vendor responsible for the system, and removing erroneous registrations.

Her office’s preliminary analysis indicated that the affected individuals included Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters and were located throughout New Jersey.

The investigation into the software error remains ongoing as state officials continue reviewing the voter registrations created during the June 2023 through June 2024 period.

More than 100 liberal Democratic elected officials, including several members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), are urging Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to publicly support abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as reported by the New York Post.

The letter, sent Monday and first obtained by City & State, was signed by more than 100 state lawmakers, New York City Council members and other local elected officials.

Among the signatories were DSA members state Sen. Julia Salazar, D-Brooklyn, Assemblymember Diana Moreno, D-Queens, and New York City Councilmember Shahana Hanif.

The group called on Schumer and Jeffries to use their leadership positions to support dismantling the federal immigration enforcement agency.

“Leverage your positions to defund and dismantle this rogue federal agency,” the letter stated.

The lawmakers also acknowledged recent efforts by congressional Democrats to oppose funding for immigration enforcement but argued those actions do not go far enough.

“We applaud recent efforts by congressional Democrats to block funding to Trump’s ICE and Border Patrol, but we must go further. We can no longer ignore the threat that ICE, which has only existed since 2002, poses to our communities and to our democracy,” the letter added.

According to the organizers, the renewed campaign to abolish ICE follows two recent deaths involving ICE officers.

The signatories cited those incidents as the reason for intensifying their push to eliminate the agency altogether.

The latest effort places additional pressure on Democratic leadership as immigration enforcement continues to divide the party.

While progressive activists have increasingly embraced the “Abolish ICE” slogan, top congressional Democrats have generally stopped short of publicly endorsing the complete elimination of the agency.

Jeffries has not adopted the “Abolish ICE” position.

However, he has supported other proposals aimed at limiting ICE operations, including legislation requiring ICE agents to remove face coverings while operating in Congress.

Last week, Jeffries also discussed immigration enforcement during an interview with TikTok creator Aaron Parnas, where he highlighted Democratic opposition to funding additional immigration enforcement initiatives.

“ICE has to be dramatically reformed. Immigration enforcement in this country should be fair, just, and humane. ICE is currently out of control. And perhaps most importantly, we’re not giving a dime to Donald Trump’s violent mass deportation machine,” Jeffries said.

Jeffries also pointed to Democratic willingness to oppose government funding measures tied to immigration enforcement, saying the party was prepared to shut down the government rather than approve additional funding for those efforts.

Schumer likewise has not publicly endorsed abolishing ICE, though his office emphasized the senator’s past opposition to the agency’s actions.

James Martin, a spokesperson for Schumer, referenced a previous government shutdown during President Donald Trump’s administration that centered in part on immigration issues.

“Senator Schumer led the longest shutdown in history to stop ICE’s abuses, and that fight is not over,” Martin said in a statement.

“Democrats will not let up until we stop the killings, cruelty, and end the impunity.”

Despite those comments, Schumer’s office did not indicate support for eliminating ICE as requested in the letter from the progressive lawmakers.

The campaign illustrates the continued pressure Democratic Socialists of America members and other progressive officials are placing on congressional Democratic leadership to move further left on immigration policy.

While many Democrats have supported reforms to immigration enforcement, the proposal to abolish ICE remains one of the most divisive issues within the party.

The letter represents one of the largest coordinated efforts by elected Democratic officials in New York to encourage Schumer and Jeffries to publicly join the “Abolish ICE” movement and advocate for dismantling the federal agency responsible for enforcing immigration laws in the United States.

Newly released internal Slack messages made public by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., are renewing scrutiny over one of the most influential scientific papers published during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the communications indicating that several authors privately expressed greater uncertainty about the virus’s origins than was reflected in their published conclusions, as reported by Fox News.

Paul released the messages Tuesday involving the authors of the March 2020 Nature Medicine paper, “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2.”

The paper, written by Kristian Andersen, Robert Garry, Eddie Holmes and Andrew Rambaut, became one of the most frequently cited scientific publications addressing the origins of COVID-19 and was widely referenced by public health officials and news organizations as evidence against a laboratory origin.

According to the released messages, however, some of the paper’s authors privately acknowledged that they could not eliminate the possibility that the virus originated from a laboratory.

“The idea that it came from a lab is implausible, and yet, privately they’re saying the opposite. … This level of dishonesty, I think, needs to be exposed,” Paul told Fox News.

“These are people who get large, multimillion-dollar grants from our country, and we shouldn’t be giving money to people who lied to us.”

The internal discussions show Andersen assigning a 30% probability to a laboratory origin for SARS-CoV-2, while Holmes estimated the likelihood at 20% before later reducing that estimate to 10%.

Those assessments differed from the paper’s public conclusion that the virus had not been manipulated.

In one Slack message dated June 11, 2020, Andersen wrote:

“The part I’m really struggling with is that, at the end of the day, we really don’t have any hard evidence one way or the other — and especially given some of the recent evidence, we also can’t rule out that somebody actually put it in there.”

He continued:

“That’s obviously not to say that somebody did, but we can’t rule it out. Our paper was pretty strong in saying ‘there’s no way,’ but I have less confidence in that statement at this stage.”

The newly released documents also detail internal discussions surrounding the virus’s furin cleavage site, a genetic feature that has remained central to debate over whether the virus emerged naturally or from laboratory research.

According to a news release from Paul’s office, Andersen at one point told colleagues that “some smoking(ish) guns” had emerged, leaving him “not comfortable” and with “less confidence … at this stage.”

The communications further indicate that the authors coordinated with officials from the National Institutes of Health and members of the U.S. intelligence community while publicly defending the paper’s conclusions.

Another subject discussed in the messages involved coronavirus researcher Ralph Baric.

While acknowledging his scientific expertise, the authors described a contentious professional relationship with Baric and expressed suspicions that he was the anonymous source they referred to as “Deep Throat,” whom they believed leaked confidential peer-review information to a journalist.

According to the documents, the leaked material suggested the authors initially considered a laboratory origin before ultimately publishing different conclusions.

The release of the Slack messages follows another document disclosure by Paul on Monday.

Those records indicated that U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents had prepared to question British zoologist Peter Daszak after he returned from the World Health Organization’s investigation into the origins of COVID-19.

According to the documents released by Paul, the FBI instructed CBP agents to stand down before questioning could take place.

The debate over COVID-19’s origins has continued years after the pandemic began.

Last year, a scientific advisory group organized by the World Health Organization concluded that the pandemic most likely resulted from “zoonotic spillover,” either directly from bats or through an intermediate host.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who led much of the federal government’s public health response during the pandemic, is scheduled to testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee later this month after Paul, who chairs the committee, issued a subpoena.

Fauci has been accused by some of manipulating intelligence concerning the origins of COVID-19 and of lying to Congress regarding allegations tied to the pandemic’s origins.

The upcoming hearing is expected to examine those issues alongside newly released records and other evidence gathered during the committee’s investigation.

The House Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) held a hearing Tuesday titled “Rewriting American History: Examining the Smithsonian’s Efforts to Reshape the Past,” focusing on exhibits and educational materials at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, as reported by Red State.

The hearing followed the release of a 162-page report by the White House Domestic Policy Council on July 4 that criticized the museum’s presentation of American history and alleged that political ideology had influenced exhibits and programming.

During the hearing, Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, questioned Dr. Anthea Hartig, director of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, about several museum initiatives, including a “Mass Action Tool Kit” that had been promoted during her tenure.

Gill repeatedly questioned Hartig about the museum’s exhibits, educational resources, and mission, while Hartig responded to members’ questions throughout the hearing.

The White House report identified four principal findings regarding the museum’s presentation of American history:

NMAH Fails to Substantively Present America’s Founders and Founding.
NMAH Has “Problematized” the 250th Anniversary of America’s Founding.
NMAH Removed “American History” from Its Mission Statement to “Get Out of the ‘America First’ Mentality.”
NMAH Has Abandoned Historical Scholarship for Political Activism.

The report also criticized exhibits and programming related to race, immigration and gender identity, concluding that there had been what it described as “ideological capture at the museum.”

According to the report, the concerns extend beyond individual exhibits and reflect broader questions about how American history is presented at one of the nation’s largest museums.

“The serious concerns raised in this report are not about a few exhibits or a few controversial labels. They concern whether America’s premier history museum still presents America as a coherent nation and heritage worth teaching with gratitude and honesty. The Museum can broaden the story without dissolving the story. It can and should acknowledge slavery, injustice, mistreatment of Native peoples, and other grave wrongs without encouraging citizens to view their country mainly through suspicion, resentment, and division. But that is not what the National Museum of American History is doing. As it stands today, it would benefit most Americans, especially parents bringing their children for a tour, if the Smithsonian’s flagship history museum had a label at every entrance that reads: ‘Warning: the exhibits in this museum were prepared by people who don’t want you to love your country.'”

The report continued by arguing that the museum’s approach has implications beyond its exhibits.

“The findings of this report matter beyond the museum world. Not all Americans follow academic theories or curatorial fashions, but they do understand when a revered public institution has traded settled truths and basic history for political activism and division. They do notice when the heroes, principles, and events that formed the country are pushed to the margins. They notice when their children are introduced to inappropriate sexual and ideological content under the guise of civic education. And they object when their children and grandchildren are being indoctrinated to regard their country primarily as a source of oppression and unresolved grievance.”

The hearing comes after actions taken by the Trump administration regarding federal museums and historical institutions.

In March 2025, President Donald Trump signed the executive order titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.”

The order stated that “museums in our Nation’s capital should be places where individuals go to learn — not to be subjected to ideological indoctrination or divisive narratives that distort our shared history.”

The executive order also included a section titled “Saving Our Smithsonian,” directing the vice president, in consultation with White House officials, to work through the Smithsonian Board of Regents to implement the administration’s policies.

The order called for efforts to remove what it described as improper ideology from Smithsonian museums, education and research centers and the National Zoo, while recommending additional actions if necessary.

Several months later, the administration directed a comprehensive review of Smithsonian museums ahead of events commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.

Tuesday’s hearing marked the latest stage in congressional oversight of the Smithsonian Institution as lawmakers continue examining how American history is presented in federally supported museums and educational programs.

The hearing also highlighted the broader debate over historical interpretation, museum exhibits and the role of public institutions in presenting the nation’s history.

The marketplace is said to include roughly 20 vendors offering prescription drugs packaged in blister packs, bottles, and boxes. Medications reportedly available include antibiotics, pain medications, anti-inflammatory drugs, and treatments for erectile dysfunction.

One vendor quoted in the report was selling sheets of the antibiotic amoxicillin for $5 while providing dosage instructions to customers.

“Is it for an adult? You can take up to three a day until they’re all gone,” the vendor said.

The same vendor also advised, “It’s for phlegm, for the throat. Or one in the morning and one at night.”

A nearby customer expressed confidence in the medication, stating, “Those are really good! They’re powerful stuff. When there’s an infection, it cures it. When I give it to my grandson, I give him three a day!”

According to the report, products available for purchase included amoxicillin, ampicillin, Viagra, Cialis, and Cataclofen Plus.

Prescription medications are generally intended to be dispensed under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.

Medical experts have long cautioned that taking prescription drugs without proper evaluation can increase the risk of adverse drug interactions, allergic reactions, inappropriate dosing, and other health complications.

They also warn that unnecessary use of antibiotics contributes to antibiotic resistance, making some bacterial infections more difficult to treat.

The reported marketplace prompted widespread reaction on social media, where users debated both the public health implications and broader questions surrounding enforcement.

Author Brian Doherty wrote, “The warmth of collectivism always includes criminality and addiction.”

J.W. de Nashville commented, “For all of the low IQ but high self-confidence New Yorkers, here’s your free healthcare.”

Geiger Capital posted, “Legitimate businesses and restaurants have to spend money on compliance, health inspections, permits, taxes, insurance, legal wages, etc. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants set up shop anywhere they want. No inspections. No regulations. Cash only.…”

Another user identified as bumbadum wrote, “Immigrants operate within an entirely separate legal structure than you.”

Television personality Spencer Pratt also weighed in, writing, “People are commenting on this saying ‘see? Communism always fails’. Nope. Communism always succeeds…in destroying your civilized society. People just don’t understand what the purpose of communism really is.”

Attorney Matt Bramanti questioned where the medications originated, posting, “all this stuff is stolen” before adding, “the policy of the City of New York is that you may steal and sell stolen goods.”

The report did not provide evidence establishing the source of the medications or whether they had been stolen, counterfeit, illegally imported, diverted from legitimate supply chains, or acquired through other means.

The reported activity comes as New York City continues to address illegal street vending and other forms of unauthorized commercial activity in several neighborhoods.

City officials have periodically conducted enforcement operations targeting unlicensed vendors, although the report did not indicate whether any enforcement action had been taken at the Washington Heights location.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani has previously spoken about reducing regulatory burdens for businesses and expanding economic opportunity in New York City.

As of July 20, neither the mayor nor his administration had publicly commented on the reported prescription drug marketplace.

The report also stated that, as of July 20, city officials had not announced any arrests, enforcement actions, or criminal investigations related to the alleged prescription drug sales in Washington Heights.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York risks driving away residents, businesses, and investment if state leaders continue adopting policies that increase taxes on high-income individuals and corporations.

Cuomo made the remarks during an interview with FOX Business, where he discussed New York’s economy, Democratic Party politics, and proposals supported by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Speaking with host Maria Bartiromo, Cuomo argued that government should focus on delivering basic services while creating conditions that encourage businesses and residents to remain in the state.

“Pick up the garbage, fill the potholes, do your job. Bring people to New York, create jobs, don’t demonize corporations. Don’t demonize the rich. Don’t chase people out of New York, which is exactly what [Mamdani] is doing. And you’re seeing the wealth transfer to southern states,” Cuomo said.

One of the policies Cuomo criticized was the proposed pied-à-terre tax announced in April by Mamdani and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The proposal would apply an annual tax to luxury second homes valued at $5 million or more.

According to supporters of the proposal, the tax is projected to generate approximately $500 million annually from qualifying out-of-state property owners.

Mamdani has said the revenue would help fund programs including free childcare while also supporting cleaner streets and safer neighborhoods.

Cuomo argued that proposals promising expanded government benefits without identifying sustainable funding sources could create long-term economic challenges.

“Socialism has not worked anywhere on the globe,” Cuomo said.

“Promises of free lunch, free buses, free rent, free everything. There is no such thing as ‘free.’ Someone always pays. This is a dream. This is nirvana. This is utopia, and they’re selling to young people who are buying it. But it’s not going to work. And this socialist movement is the best thing the Republicans have going for them.”

He added, “It is a major problem for the Democrats. And again, I think the energy comes from the anger of Trump, and they’ve misdirected that anger. But it is a real problem for the Democrats, and as I said before, it’s the best thing the Republicans have going for them.”

The interview also addressed population trends in New York. According to the Citizens Budget Commission, New York City experienced a net loss of approximately 114,000 residents during 2025 after more residents left the city than moved into it across all income levels.

Cuomo suggested that tax policy and the broader business climate are contributing factors in residents and companies relocating to lower-tax states in the South.

The former governor also discussed what he described as growing ideological divisions within the Democratic Party.

“The Democratic Party is in the middle of the Civil War, right? And you have moderate mainstream Democrats such as myself, which have been challenged by the far-left extremists,” Cuomo said.

Reflecting on his tenure as governor, Cuomo argued that his legislative record included a number of progressive policies despite criticism from some members of today’s Democratic coalition.

“I’m too moderate for the Democrats, which is ironic, since I had the most progressive record as governor in the United States of America,” Cuomo said while noting his anti-discrimination and minimum wage legislation.

“It’s not about facts. It’s not about merits. It’s about the politics of the moment, and right now, socialism is cool.”

In addition to discussing state politics, Cuomo recently appeared on FOX Business to advocate for blockchain legislation and his work with cryptocurrency exchange OKX, urging Congress to advance the CLARITY Act.

The interview highlighted Cuomo’s views on New York’s economic direction, ongoing debates over taxation, and ideological divisions within the Democratic Party as state leaders continue debating proposals affecting housing, public spending, and economic development.

A newly released U.S. State Department report examines alleged historical connections between the Cuban government and several American activist organizations, including the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), arguing that Cuba has spent decades cultivating relationships with left-wing political groups in the United States, as reported by The Post Millennial.

The approximately 100-page report, titled “Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism,” was released Monday.

According to the report, Cuba developed a long-term network of relationships with American activists, organizations, and institutions beginning in the decades following the Cuban Revolution.

Among the organizations discussed is the National Lawyers Guild, a nonprofit legal organization founded in 1937.

The report identifies the NLG as an organization that has provided legal assistance to activists associated with Antifa and traces what it describes as historical ties between the Guild and groups sympathetic to the Cuban government.

According to the report, the alleged network includes organizations ranging from the Weather Underground and the Black Panther movement to more recent activist groups involved in demonstrations related to immigration and other political causes.

The State Department report describes the National Lawyers Guild as “one of the most persistently relevant — and insidious — organizations in Cuba’s U.S. network.”

The report also discusses Victor Rabinowitz, an NLG founder and former president, noting that he headed the Fair Play for Cuba Committee before his law firm, which he co-founded with attorney Leonard Boudin, became legal counsel for the Cuban government in the United States in 1960.

The report states that Leonard Boudin was the father of Kathy Boudin, a member of the Weather Underground, and the grandfather of former San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

According to the report, historical accounts allege that NLG attorneys provided financial and logistical support to Weather Underground members who were fugitives during the 1970s.

The Weather Underground carried out multiple bombings targeting government buildings, including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, the State Department, police facilities, and courthouses.

The report further alleges that, during the last decade, the National Lawyers Guild became more publicly aligned with activists associated with Antifa as demonstrations expanded during Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

It states that NLG chapters operate at many law schools and that members frequently serve as legal observers during demonstrations.

According to the report, the Guild also organizes legal support for arrested demonstrators, including access to attorneys, bail assistance, and referrals to affiliated legal organizations.

The report notes that the NLG has stated it coordinated legal support for more than 20,000 people arrested during demonstrations that followed the death of George Floyd in 2020.

The State Department also references statements issued by individual NLG chapters and members over the past decade.

It cites a 2017 essay by leaders of the Guild’s San Francisco chapter titled, “We are all antifa,” and references public statements by Guild officials expressing support for Antifa activists.

The report additionally discusses Thomas Jurgens, identified as both an NLG member and Southern Poverty Law Center staff member, who was arrested during protests connected to the “Stop Cop City” movement near Atlanta in 2023.

It also examines the Guild’s response to a federal criminal case involving individuals convicted in connection with the July 4, 2025, attack on the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas.

According to the report, the NLG characterized the incident as “a typical pro-immigrant protest” conducted by “community members” and criticized the resulting federal prosecution as “expansive and unchecked state repression.”

Beyond domestic activism, the report alleges that multiple generations of NLG leadership participated in delegations to Cuba organized by organizations aligned with the Cuban government.

It further states that the Guild continues to work with the National Network on Cuba, a coalition that includes more than 60 organizations, including the Democratic Socialists of America, CodePink, and the Communist Party USA.

The report also cites an NLG resolution stating that the organization has “supported the Cuban Revolution since its triumph on January 1, 1959.”

According to the State Department, Cuba’s most significant achievement has been ideological rather than military or economic, arguing that the country developed long-term relationships with American organizations capable of influencing domestic political activism.

The report does not identify any specific enforcement actions or policy initiatives that the federal government intends to pursue in response to its findings.
