Turns out that Democrats can’t openly flout the law forever and suffer zero consequences. Who knew? For years it has certainly seemed like the laws of the land simply didn’t apply to anyone on Team Blue. Don’t like healthy children? Well, just “transition” them by poisoning them with chemicals and cutting off their health body parts, right? It’s not abuse when the left does it, right? 

Don’t like the fact that the U.S. has laws about how to legally enter and reside inside America? Well, just be a Democrat Governor like New Jersey’s Phil Murphy and go on the air taunting Immigrations and Customs Enforcement by saying you’re hiding an illegal in your garage apartment and that you dare ICE to come and get her. 

Here’s what Murphy said: “I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there’s someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point they are trying to get it to And we said: ‘You know what? Let’s have her live above our house, above our garage. And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her.’”

A person can only be this confident in bragging about breaking immigration law if he believes that he is untouchable. Democrats, unfortunately, are right to be this confident. They have been untouchable and above the law for years. While screeching that Donald Trump was a “Russian asset” and impeaching him based on bought-and-paid-for lies, the blue team has been able to flout immigration, child abuse, and women’s rights laws anywhere they saw fit with no legal consequences. 

That’s changing right now under newly appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi. She has called the blue states’ bluff in a way that hasn’t been done in years. On February 5, Bondi announced that she is freezing all federal Department of Justice money to so-called “sanctuary cities.” These are Democrat-Progressive-led cities that simply decided that they were going to hide illegal aliens from federal immigration enforcement. Cities like Minneapolis and San Francisco, just two among hundreds, have brazenly declared that they will fight their own federal government to protect illegal aliens from being deported. Trump warned them that if they kept this up, he was going to take action, and that action came today. 

AG Bondi has made good on Trump’s promise, ordering her Department of Justice to shut off any federal dollars to cities that defy federal immigration law. 

Among several directives issued Wednesday, Bondi charged the DOJ with identifying and evaluating funding agreements with nongovernmental organizations that provide support to undocumented immigrants, Fox News Digital first reported.

She also tasked the department with investigating instances of sanctuary jurisdictions obstructing law enforcement and “directing they be prosecuted, when necessary,” the outlet wrote.

Several offices within the Justice Department provided $1.56 billion in grants to sanctuary cities in 2023, according to the think tank Center for Immigration Studies.

When asked about the impact of the Justice Department’s directive, a New York City Hall spokesperson told The Independent in a statement that Mayor Eric Adams “has been clear that New York City is committed to working with our federal partners to fix our broken immigration system and collaborating with ICE to remove people who are entering our localities and committing violent crimes. We are currently evaluating the directive.”

Hollywood has always been a fantasy land that looks different from the street than it looks once you go inside. The town was quite literally built on fantasy, in the middle of an inhospitable desert, with false fronts that put a glamorous facade on flimsy buildings.

There was never a time in the entertainment world where everyone in it had upstanding morals and comported themselves decently. Fame beckons the damaged and empty who long for an identity to lift them up out of the neglect or abuse that shaped their childhoods. It has ever been thus, so it isn’t really any surprise to find out that famous actors have dubious morals and even stranger political opinions. 

There’s a reason that studio bosses in the golden age of Hollywood inserted moral turpitude clauses in the contracts of their stars. They knew what the talent was likely to get up to, and many a frantic phone call was placed to gossip columnists (with express or implied bribery) to keep their actors out of the papers when they were caught slumming in gay clubs, for example.

Not anymore, but worse—the very kinds of scandalous behavior that used to get starlets kicked off the lot at Metro Goldwyn Mayer now gets them positive front page news, and scads of adoring fans. Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, may be getting plastered with ridicule for showing up to the Grammys naked, but the point is that our culture has fallen so far that she felt comfortable doing it in the first place. 

Sex and the City  actress Cynthia Nixon is your typical Hollywood leftist, parading her sexuality in public and signing on to every liberal trend and fad while portraying herself as some sort of savior. This week, she’s standing up for the right of parents and hospitals to poison their children through what we euphemistically call “gender-affirming care.” In plain terms, this is the chemical sterilization of alleged “trans” kids, followed by mutilating breast and genital surgery. How much lower can our culture go? 

President Donald Trump has said “no more” to this extraordinary child abuse. His recent executive order bans the federal government from funding or participating in “child transition,” and makes it clear to hospitals and medical centers that they had better lawyer up because the lucrative butchery is over. 

Now comes actress Nixon, protesting outside a hospital that has recently cancelled appointments to give minor children “puberty blockers.” Ever the narcissist, Nixon declares to the crowd that she is the “mother of a proud trans man.” In reality, she has a daughter who now masquerades as a man. But that’s not all. Nixon claims to be surrounded by “trans kids.” “My kids are trans, my sisters kids are trans, every kid I know is trans,” Nixon says.

As Scarlett Johnson asks: what are the odds? 

It’s literal madness. As Elon Musk himself responded, it’s a “mind virus.”

Trump’s Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has announced taking over the beleaguered United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as its “Acting Director.” 

USAID has earned a top spot as one of the worst agencies the Trump administration must address, angering Democrats and career bureaucrats. 

Sec. Rubio made the announcement while on a diplomatic trip to El Salvador. The Central American nation has agreed to take the most notorious U.S.-born criminals and illegal immigrants from other countries. Rubio accused USAID of refusing to coordinate its activities with U.S. Embassies abroad or the State Department, claiming it was independent and its employees “answer to no one.” 

“They are supposed to take direction from the State Department, policy direction. They do not. Not only do they not take policy direction, they’re completely uncooperative.”

Rubio added that the agency refuses to answer important questions about who receives funding, what the program does, and who its contractors are. Trump has accused USAID of massive fraud.

“They went totally crazy, what they were doing and the money they were giving to people that shouldn’t be getting it and to agencies and others that shouldn’t be getting it, it was a shame, so a tremendous fraud,” Trump said.

“We will no longer allow it,” Rubio asserted.

According to Rubio, USAID also carries programs that contradict U.S. foreign policy objectives in the host country and the region and designates itself as an international charitable organization. “I’m the Acting Director of USAID,” Rubio stated, adding that he delegated his functions to somebody else.

USAID’s woes started when Trump announced a funding cut for the agency that diverts taxpayers’ money to foreign governments for projects that are allegedly unaligned to the country’s national interests or foreign policy.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently disclosed some of USAID’s wasteful expenditures using our tax dollars. 

“If you take a look at the waste and abuse that has run through USAID over the past several years, these are some of the insane priorities that that organization has been spending money on,” Sec. Leavitt stated.

“I don’t know about you, but as an American taxpayer, I don’t want my dollars going toward this crap, and I know the American people don’t either, and that’s exactly what Elon Musk has been tasked by President Trump to do.”

They included $1.5 million for DEI in Serbia, $70,000 for a DEI musical concert in Ireland, $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia, and $32,000 for a transgender book in Peru. Other suspicious expenditures include $50 million to buy condoms for Gaza.

Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency also recently saved $228,730,692 after canceling 7 DEI contracts associated with the agency. Two of USAID’s top officials were also sent on administrative leave after denying DOGE employees access to unclassified documents stored in a building that ironically requires security clearances. 

Musk even threatened to involve the US Marshals Service if USAID continued to deny DOGE employees access to the unclassified documents. Shortly after the incident, acting DC attorney ED Martin wrote to Musk regarding allegations that DOGE employees have been threatened after their identities were disclosed to the media. 

Meanwhile, Musk says he totally agrees with Trump that USAID should be shut down. However, Rubio stated that some USAID functions will continue but in full compliance with the U.S. foreign policy and national interests.

Nonetheless, Musk is not so subtle about putting USAID to sleep. 

“Spent the weekend feeding USAID into the wood chipper,” Musk posted on X.

Trump also agrees that USAID’s shutdown “should have been done a long time ago.” Interestingly, the agency’s website was taken offline, and its servers were allegedly carted away pending further investigation.

Meanwhile, Democrats continue to protest the USAID funding cut. Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy said burying USAID was unconstitutional, while Jamie Raskin said Elon Musk should not be the “fourth branch of government.”

Somali-born Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who participated in USAID protests, said cutting funding would endanger “Americans around the world.”

We Americans have a famously short memory; we “forget” news items that are barely two days old. Think you’re immune to that? Are you sure? Try this: do you remember that President Donald Trump suffered two assassination attempts in the summer of 2024? Sure, you might be saying, “of course I remember that,” but that question prompted you. In the immediate aftermath of the first assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, people online were widely remarking how it “felt” like the attempted murder had happened “a long time ago” when it had only been a few days. 

It seems likely that this is because the 24-hour media/news cycle—which itself is fairly recent, having only become “a thing” in the 1980s with the advent of cable news networks—runs so rapidly now that major events become “not news” in mere hours. We’re so pegged to what we see on our screens that it’s not out of bounds to question if our capacity for memory using our brains has been degraded. 

Given that, it’s probably a heavy lift to ask even older readers to remember this: The federal Department of Education was only created in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter. Did you know that? Had you forgotten? It’s true. If you were born in 1950, you spent all your school years in a world that had never heard of a federal “department of education.” Somehow, you learned the three Rs, didn’t you? Somehow, American children managed to get an education without a building in D.C. directing how it was provided. 

This “forgetting” is probably part of why so many people have reacted negatively to Trump’s pondering whether to abolish the Dept. of Education. They think, incorrectly, that it’s a fundamental institution that has been there since the beginning of time. But not only is it fairly new, it’s made an absolute hash out of American public education. Mandate after mandate from D.C. has been handed down to local schools forcing them to let boys play on girls’ sports teams, reversing the purpose of Title IX. So called Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) directives from Washington have forced local public schools to foist Marxist race-baiting on students, crowding out basic literacy and math skills. 

Well, the times they are a’changing. For now, there’s still a Department of Education. But thanks to a recent executive order from Trump, there is no more DEI. Here’s the Department alerting the public that it’s flushing this woke poison down the drain.

Oh, what a difference a change of administration makes. Until a few weeks ago, we had to listen to three years of this from the White House press room:

That’s President Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre. You’d be hard pressed to find a presidential spokeswoman who answered fewer direct questions, or who threw more tantrums or scolded more reporters when she didn’t like being questioned on a sensitive topic. 

And what was a sensitive topic? Anything connected to reality. Jean-Pierre would get exasperated and snippy at any reporter who asked about Biden’s obvious senility, or about the legality of his attempts to make American taxpayers pay off the student loan debts of individual students. Or about anything. 

Like the rest of the pathological narcissists in the Democrat party, Jean-Pierre thought very highly of herself. She made sure to point out that she was “making history” by being the first black lesbian to hold her job when she was new at it. Then, on her way out, she waxed self-lovingly about how she contemplates the many little girls “looking at me,” and how she hopes she’s “an inspiration” to them. 

The page has turned. President Donald Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt is just 27 years old, but she has a direct and commanding no-nonsense communication style that would leave seasoned public speakers envious. 

Here she is explaining-telling, not asking-that the administration is putting tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, for their part in the fentanyl epidemic that “has killed tens of millions of Americans.”

Want more? Leavitt’s got you covered. In the same press briefing, she told the plain truth about the probable origins of Covid-19. But more importantly, she pointed out that Trump and Republicans were smeared as “conspiracy theorists” when they talked about the lab-leak hypothesis that even the CIA is now saying is likely where the disease came from. 

Then, Leavitt heats it up with an unequivocal declaration that no one can expect to get a job in government anymore by trading on their skin color, sexuality, or any other “protected” characteristic. Competence, she said, will be the deciding factor in hiring decisions:

Illinois Democrats Allow Criminal Illegal Aliens to Change Names to Evade ICE Deportations

Democrats in Illinois are allowing illegal immigrants, including those who have committed horrific crimes, to change their names to avoid deportation and remain within the state. 

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who vowed to fight for illegal immigrants, and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker are also blocking ICE agents from accessing prisons to detain some of the most vile illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes, including drug offenses, gang affiliation, prostitution, human trafficking, and child sex crimes.

The Trump administration has categorically stated that it was primarily focusing on national security threats and the most dangerous illegal immigrants. However, Democrats in Illinois are preventing those people from being deported. About 300 illegal aliens with ICE detainer requests are in Chicago. 

These are not the “farm produce pickers” that Democrats have been talking about, but people wanted for various crimes that the Trump administration wants out of the country.

Recently, the Illinois legislature passed HB 5164, allowing anybody who has resided in the state for three months to change their name. Previously, it required the name change applicant to have resided in the state for at least six months.

However, that is not the most concerning detail, as the law also allows even the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens to change their names. Both chambers approved the measure, which was sent to Gov. Pritzker’s desk for signing last week. 

While proponents of the law claim it would help victims of domestic abuse and, of course, transgender individuals to feel safer, it did not exempt criminal illegal aliens with a history of violent crimes.

“There are residents in our state who do not feel safe when they are an adoptee; they’re transgender; they’re an immigrant; they’re a survivor of domestic violence, survivor of sexual exploitation and human trafficking,” Democrat State Senator Ram Villivalam, the sponsor of the bill, said. 

“So they would like to change their name, and in doing so, we need to remove as many barriers as we can to ensure their health and safety.”

However, allowing illegal immigrants to change their names will effectively enable them to evade ICE raids, as the name change may not have propagated through all systems when the immigration officers descend on the correctional facilities.

“Is this creating a loophole for people who are here, who are criminals and part of things involved in the trafficking, involved in all of these nefarious activities that we’ve been reading about?” GOP State Senator Sue Rezin asked.

According to State Senator Andrew Chesney, the passage of the law allows “illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes” to “simply change their names, making it difficult for law enforcement or immigration officials to track them down.”

However, Democrats continue to pat themselves on the back by claiming that the law allows people who feel unsafe to feel more secure.

“As people continue to feel the hate, feel the discrimination, get targeted, we need to continue to take these steps to make sure they feel healthy and safe,” said Villivalam.

The name change petitioners were also slapped with a lenient maximum fee of $25. The court can also waive the charge “for good cause shown,” allowing the law to be abused.

It also exempts the petitioners from publicly disclosing the name change, meaning most people would not know about it. It also allows name changers to exclude their home addresses, making them totally untraceable.

Buttigieg is Back to Referee Trump’s Response to D.C. Plane Crash, Oh Boy!

Liberals are immune to irony. There’s no other explanation. Take former Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg. On January 29, an American Airlines regional flight collided with a military blackhawk helicopter in Washington, D.C.. Tragically, both craft plunged into the Potomac river, and there were no survivors. According to the most recent reports, 67 total people are dead. 

Freshly out of a job, Buttigieg seems to still be working for the ousted Biden administration. He’s on social media blasting President Donald Trump for his response to the aviation accident.

The irony is palatable; Buttigieg is incompetent, always was incompetent, and has no business at all criticizing the Trump administration’s response to the recent plane crash. Parachuted by Biden into the role of Transportation Secretary with no experience behind him but being the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Buttigieg could not be relied on to even show up to major disasters involving the nation’s transport infrastructure. 

Remember the massive train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, in February of 2023? A Norfolk Southern freight train derailed. Thirty-eight cars went off the tracks, and some of them contained toxic chemicals. Making matters worse, authorities burned some of them off, leading to a huge plume of toxic smoke that forced local residents to evacuate. Despite the media’s lack of coverage on the details at the time, locals started posting videos showing thousands of dead fish floating in contaminated rivers after the accident. Years later, the state’s natural resources department admitted that at least 38,000 wild animals were killed by the toxic cloud. 

Where was Transportation Secretary Pete? Nowhere to be found for weeks after the disaster. People on the ground were furious and didn’t buy his excuse that he waited to visit until after the most important responders had done their work. Overall, his tenure as Transportation Secretary got mixed reviews, with some praising what he did with the budget he had, while other commentators pointed to numerous transportation disasters—train derailments, near-misses at airports with planes nearly colliding—on his watch.

Ex-Vice President Mike Pence took aim at Buttigieg taking two months’ of “paternity leave” from his job in the middle of crises after Buttigieg and his male partner adopted newborn twins. “When Pete’s two children were born, he took two months’ maternity leave whereupon thousands of travelers were stranded in airports, the air traffic system shut down, and airplanes nearly collided on our runways,” ABC News reported Pence saying. 

However history may eventually view his tenure, the American people don’t seem to think very highly of Buttigieg or his Monday morning quarterbacking over Trump’s response to the Jan. 29 plane crash. Think “woke” is over since President Trump got elected? Think again. We’ve been saying for a while that it’s going to take years to root this delusional, narcissistic thinking out of our society. Absurd claims of discrimination and accusations that others have “phobias” are just too delicious for the self-centered in American society to give up easily. 

For at least a decade, we’ve been lectured about, well, everything. Don’t want mentally ill people who think they’re the opposite sex in the military? Well, you must be “transphobic.” That’s the cry from the left after Donald Trump issued an executive order re-banning “transgender” people from military service. Outlets like Vox try to distract by claiming that it’s some stretch to recognize the mental instability of such people, and that they’re just as capable and stable as normal troops. Ha. 

Just about every unhealthy or anti-social behavior has been given a “glow-up” by the left for the past decade. Don’t feel like putting in your all at work? That’s not laziness or paycheck theft, it’s “quiet quitting” from Millennials who have, like, just been asked to do TOO MUCH WORK! Upset by the outcome of the presidential election? Just do a Selena Gomez and ugly-cry about illegals being deported and you’ll be called “empathetic.” In fairness, though, even Gomez’s own fans couldn’t take her crocodile tears and the star was forced to delete her embarrassing video.

But the rehabilitation of morbid obesity into just another “valid” “lifestyle choice” is only barely less ridiculous than the claim that men can become women just by wearing a wig. Remember this cover from Cosmopolitan? 

It’s one of countless articles on why being obese is no less healthy than the alternative. And people believed it, or, rather, people who wanted to believe it, did.

The disconnection from reality is what’s led to this latest lawsuit against the ride-share company Lyft. This woman, who claims to be a rapper named “Dank Demoss,” who is 500 pounds, is suing Lyft because a driver wisely refused to let her into his car, which would’ve risked damage to it.

Just by a quick glance it’s quite obvious that the Lyft driver was correct: she cannot physically fit into a normal-sized car, and would cause damage to it if she did.  

Reality be damned, according to Demoss it’s just that the driver is “fat-phobic.” So she’s off to the races (very slowly) with a lawsuit claiming that she was illegally discriminated against. Get load of what her lawyer claimed to People Magazine:

“Under the law, refusing someone transportation due to their weight is no different than refusing someone transportation based on their race or religion. Discrimination of any kind should never be tolerated in our society,” said attorney John Marko. 

I’ll be generous and assume that this attorney knows the case is nonsense, but also knows Lyft will likely settle it to avoid the costs of going to trial (even if it’s a case they know they’d end of winning).

Maybe by this time in 2026, writers like me won’t have to write things that don’t make sense. Things like this: Did you know that despite transgender individuals making up only 0.3% of the population, 15 percent of women in U.S. federal prisons are men?

See what I mean? 

We jumped the shark all the way into orbit in about 2014 when Time Magazine declared it the year of the “transgender tipping point.” Using a photograph of the “trans woman” “Laverne” Cox in a waist-cincher, wig, and a coquette pose, Time assured us that transgender rights were “the next civil rights frontier.” 

Sympathy for what we all used to correctly call drag queens and transvestites went so high it broke every measurement scale. No longer could we acknowledge that none of these men in “working girl” couture were actually men. It wasn’t permitted to fail to refer to them as “she.” Doing anything–even having the wrong look on your face–that signaled that you didn’t believe they really were women would get you shrieked at by leftist lunatics (mainly actual women) and accused of “transphobia” and “violence.”

Well it’s 10 years later and the seeds we sowed have blossomed into exactly the rotten fruit conservatives told us they would, and that all of us could have seen if we weren’t so busy pretending reality isn’t real. Given the high percentage of “trans women” in prison who are sexual predators, it should come as no surprise that they’re raping their cellmates. This is just one story out of California, and it’s particularly gruesome; after being allegedly raped by a “lady man “trans woman” behind bars, the court is forcing the victim to refer to her alleged rapist as “she” and “her.”

Mainstream media, of course, are attacking Donald Trump for putting the kibosh on the sadistic practice of putting male criminals in women’s prisons. The UK’s Independent bleats that Trump is “gutting” parts of the Prison Rape Elimination Act. How is Trump doing that? By no longer allowing men in women’s prisons.

Americans should expect that it’s going to take some time for leftists and Democrats to accept the reality of what they’ve lost. And they have lost everything; the White House, the Senate, the House, and the Supreme Court. The media establishment, for some reason no one has been able to figure out, seems to have no higher priority than wrapping its emotional arms around illegal aliens. We’ve seen the highest number of border jumpers in history under the Biden presidency, and somehow, dangerous young men from third world countries with no papers set Democrat hearts aflutter. 

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is flapping her Muppet gums about how the price of coffee is going to rise because President Trump issued an ultimatum to Columbia. A few days ago, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, refused to allow two U.S. military planes filled with illegal Colombians from landing in the country. Apparently, he thought he had this option, but he didn’t. Over the weekend Trump threatened immediate tariffs against all Colombian imports, and the country folded like the cheap South American socialist dictatorship that it is. Not only are they “happily” taking back all their countrymen, but the president is sending his own plane to help. All while the price of coffee remains unaffected.

Enforcing boundaries with tough consequences works, but this is a new concept for leftists. ABC’s anchor Martha Raddatz sat down with “border czar” Tom Homan and spluttered in shock when he confirmed that, yes, Americans are going to see military planes deporting illegals every single day. She seemed genuinely disoriented at the very ordinary, standard practice of, well, deporting people who are here illegally. Homan was unflappable and refused to comfort her or tell her that the U.S. is going to be “nice” about the issue. Take a look. 

Hollywood stars are having similar difficulties adjusting to the new reality that looks more like normal than anything we’ve had for 10 years. Former Disney child star and recording artist Selena Gomez just learned a hard lesson about being a ridiculous child about protecting illegal aliens. The rich, young singer, who is herself an American, doesn’t see herself that way. In a tearful video full of what the young call “ugly crying,” Gomez whimpered and wiped her eyes over the pain of seeing “her people” treated this way. 

Her people? Does she really mean to say that illegal border jumpers and criminals are “her people?” Why are her fellow American citizens not “her people?” To her shock, Gomez’s fans hit back at her online histrionics so hard that she pulled down the video.

It looks like people are getting tired of the “turn on the tears and then film them for sympathy” act that’s become so common among celebrities and woke activists. 

With these kinds of theatrics, it’s impossible to tell how much of the emotion is genuine and how much of it is a complete put-on. But it does seem plausible that young starlets like Gomez really are so emotionally damaged that they’re actually moved to tears by things that make sense to the rest of us. There’s a reason the status of “child star” invokes images of exploitation and pushy stage parents for most people. Whether performers like Gomez can come back to reality is an open question.
