JD Vance Says He Feels Like He ‘Got Hit by a Freight Train’ After Training with Navy Seals

Vice President JD Vance recently participated in a training session with U.S. Navy SEALs in California, completing a 90-minute workout that he later described as physically punishing despite the elite service members easing the pace.

New photographs show Vance training alongside a group of SEALs at a facility in Coronado, California.

The images depict the vice president carrying heavy logs, rowing in the ocean, running along the beach, and climbing a rope obstacle course as part of multiple stages of SEAL training.

Many of the SEALs’ faces were blurred in the photos to protect their identities, according to a source familiar with the visit.

Following the workout, Vance shared his reaction publicly on X.

“Just finished PT with the Navy SEALs for 90 minutes,” Vance wrote in a post Monday.

“They took it easy on me and I still feel like I got hit by a freight train.”

Vance also used the post to praise the nation’s special operations forces and the role they play in national defense.

He wrote that he is “so grateful to all of our warriors who keep us safe and keep the highest standards anywhere in the world.”

According to a source familiar with the visit, the vice president took part in several elements of SEAL physical training during his time at the Coronado facility.

Navy SEALs are widely regarded as among the U.S. military’s most elite special operations forces, known for demanding physical standards and high-risk missions that include counterterrorism, maritime operations, and special reconnaissance.

Vance’s participation in the training comes in the context of his own military background.

The vice president is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served during the Iraq War.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2003 and deployed to Iraq in 2005 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, where he worked in public affairs.

Vance has previously said his experience in uniform played a significant role in shaping his views on national security, the costs associated with war, and the responsibility political leaders carry when making decisions that place service members in harm’s way.

Those views have been referenced frequently in his public remarks since taking office.

The training session also aligns with broader messaging from officials in the Trump administration emphasizing physical readiness across the armed forces.

Administration officials have repeatedly stressed the importance of maintaining high fitness standards throughout the military, including among senior leadership.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth has publicly emphasized that U.S. troops must be “fit, not fat,” extending that expectation to the general and flag-officer level.

Hegseth has frequently highlighted physical readiness in speeches and interviews and has participated in workouts with service members during visits to military units around the world, according to prior public statements.

Vance’s workout with the SEALs comes as the administration continues to highlight military preparedness, discipline, and readiness as core priorities.

While the vice president’s visit was not tied to a formal policy announcement, the imagery and public remarks reinforced themes the administration has emphasized regarding the armed forces.

The photos from Coronado show Vance completing physically demanding exercises alongside active-duty SEALs, showing the intensity of the training environment.

The vice president’s comments following the session reflected both the difficulty of the workout and his appreciation for the capabilities and professionalism of the service members he trained with.

The visit did not include public remarks beyond Vance’s social media post, and officials did not disclose additional details about the duration or specific structure of the training beyond the 90-minute workout referenced by the vice president.

The appearance with Navy SEALs adds to a series of high-profile engagements by administration officials with active-duty service members, reinforcing the administration’s focus on military readiness, strength, and the role of elite forces in national defense.

Sanctuary City Releases Criminal Illegal Alien, He Allegedly Murders Someone a Day Later

A Fox News anchor questioned Todd Lyons about the release of a 23-year-old illegal alien with a lengthy criminal record who was later arrested for murder, focusing on the role of local law enforcement, ICE detainers, and sanctuary policies.

The Fox News anchor identified the suspect as Marvin Morales Ortez, an illegal alien from El Salvador, and detailed the sequence of events that led to his release and subsequent rearrest.

“Illegal immigrant, 23 year old man, Marvin Morales Ortez. This one is from El Salvador. He was in custody on a Tuesday of malicious wounding and brandishing firearms, but then local police released him. There he is, young man. The next day, on Wednesday, there’s a murder scene, and they arrest him again,” the anchor said.

The anchor said Morales Ortez had an extensive criminal history and was released shortly before being connected to another violent crime.

“He’s got a lengthy record Todd, at least seven crimes he’s accused of, and then he’s released within hours before you know, officials say that he got up into a mess again,” the anchor said.

The anchor then cited a statement from the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, which placed responsibility on ICE for not taking further action to keep Morales Ortez in custody.

“This is the quote from the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office. This is what they’re telling us. In this instance, ice was aware of Morales or tests incarcer nation, incarcerated incarceration and elected not to seek a judicial warrant to ensure that he remained in custody accordingly and consistent with our policies and the law. Once the court issued an order dismissing the cases, Mr. Morales or test was released, sounds like they’re throwing this back on you guys. On ICE,” the anchor said.

Lyons disputed that explanation, saying local authorities misunderstood immigration law and failed to cooperate with ICE.

“Yeah, And the whole problem is, I said, unfortunately, they don’t understand immigration law, right? We don’t need a judicial warrant. Our ice detainer is just enough for them to hold him and turn him over to us,” Lyons said.

Lyons said local officials instead followed sanctuary policies, which he argued led directly to the suspect’s release and the subsequent killing.

“But instead, they want to go ahead and lead him to sign a sanctuary policies, and now he allegedly committed another murder,” Lyons said.

Lyons said Morales Ortez had already been arrested for serious violent offenses and should not have been released without conditions.

“So we have this individual. They already arrested him for brandishing a firearm, so he was already arrested for aggravated assault. So why they would want to release him anyways, with no bond or no restrictions, is just ridiculous,” Lyons said.

Lyons added that local officials later realized the decision was a mistake.

“And then he’s found out another murder scene the next day, actually, that day, the clinicians at Fairfax County deemed him a public safety risk, and they were out looking for him because they realized those mistakes release him,” Lyons said.

Lyons said the situation could have been avoided if local authorities had transferred Morales Ortez to ICE custody.

“Had they done that, he would have already been in ICE custody. Had they turned him over so instead, here we have another instance of an American losing their lives because of sanctuary policies,” Lyons said.

The Fox News anchor asked Lyons what prevents cooperation between local law enforcement agencies and ICE.

“What would motivate these law enforcement agencies to help you? I mean, it seems like it just keeps happening over and over again, day in and day out. Are they do they even want to work with you? Have you reached out to some of these folks? I mean, or is it local politicians putting pressure on them,” the anchor said.

Lyons responded that frontline officers generally support cooperation, but political leadership blocks it.

“No, you know what it is, is the rank and file members of almost every law enforcement agency in this country wants to work with ice. They have great relationships with us. We have Task Force officers from their agency,” Lyons said.

Lyons said elected officials prioritize sanctuary policies over public safety, with deadly consequences.

“It’s elected officials that decide to put the safety of public, you know, public safety ahead of, you know, sanctuary policies, and it’s ridiculous, and it’s actually causing lives,” Lyons said.

Lyons said such cases continue to occur and described the situation as preventable.

“And there’s just more and more of these stories, and it’s heartbreaking because my, you know, my, my thoughts and prayers go out to that family, because this was an incident that could have been avoided, and that’s what ice is here for,” Lyons said.

Lyons said ICE’s mission is focused on public safety and requires cooperation from local jurisdictions.

“That’s what ICE’s law enforcement mission is, and where we want to make America safe again, we just need these sanctuary jurisdiction politicians to work with us,” Lyons said.

The Fox News anchor closed the segment by noting the frequency of similar cases.

“And we keep seeing these stories pop up. It doesn’t seem like there’s going to be any change anytime soon. Todd, good to see you. Have a great Christmas,” the anchor said.

Hollywood Legend Calls Out California’s Voting Circus After His Ballot Was Rejected

Actor Kelsey Grammer said he believes Democrats relied on changes to election procedures to win recent elections, pointing to comments he attributes to actress Jane Fonda and to his own experience voting in California during the 2020 election.

Grammer said his concerns began after recalling remarks he said Fonda made during the COVID-19 pandemic, when lockdowns and expanded mail-in voting were implemented across the country.

LOS ANGELES, CA – July 31, 2018: Kelsey Grammer at the Los Angeles premiere of “Like Father” at the Arclight Theatre

According to Grammer, those comments suggested the pandemic and voting changes were necessary to defeat the sitting president.

“I remember when Jane Fonda was talking about the the lockdown and covid 19. She said, if we can’t figure out how to unseat this president with a pandemic and the stuff that we all the power and the and the mail in ballots, she said it right out loud. She said, well, then we we’re ridiculous. We’re like incomple We’re incapable of winning an election,” Grammer said.

“And she was right that, but that is what they needed to win it.”

Grammer said he did not previously believe Democrats would manipulate election systems but said his view changed after observing voting practices in California.

He criticized the state’s election laws, arguing they allow widespread participation without sufficient safeguards.

“I didn’t used to believe that. I didn’t believe the Democrats would ever resort to that, but in watching it, the vote practice, the voting practices that they’ve implemented here in California to allow anybody to vote, as long as they’re just, you know, walking around and have a heartbeat is staggering,” Grammer said.

“And they have no interest in it being legal, none at all.”

Grammer went further, claiming that voting systems allow ballots to be cast multiple times and even by individuals who should no longer be listed as eligible voters.

“And for those who do not have a heartbeat but haven’t been dropped in the roles, they want them to vote too, and they’ll even let them vote several times,” he said.

Grammer also described a personal experience he said occurred during the 2020 election when he attempted to deliver his mail-in ballot directly to a polling location.

He said he wanted to ensure the ballot was received and counted.

“But I walked into the vote my voting, my polling place for the 2020 election. And I said, Listen, I thought I just bring this in. This is my mail in ballot. I wanted to bring it in and make sure you guys got it,” Grammer said.

According to Grammer, a poll worker informed him that his ballot was not valid after checking the system.

“The girl looked at me. She said she punched a couple of buttons and said, Oh, that’s That’s not legal. Your your ballot is illegal. It’s invalid,” Grammer said.

Grammer said he asked for an explanation but was not given one and was instead offered a provisional ballot.

“I said, why? And she said, No reason. You can fill out a provisional ballot, if you’d like,” he said.

Grammer said he then attempted to present identification to resolve the issue, but was told that accepting identification was not allowed under California law.

“So I reached in my pocket, I still let me give you some ID, and she said, Oh no, no, it’s against the law for me to take ID,” Grammer said.

He said the experience left him uncertain about whether his vote would be counted and reinforced his concerns about the state’s election system.

“So I thought, well, it’s mixed up,” Grammer said.

Grammer said he later received confirmation that the ballot was not counted.

“And I did finally get noticed about a year and a half ago that that ballot was not counted,” he said.

“So maybe I was just a registered Republican.”

Trump’s ‘Wall of Fame’ Trolling of Biden, Obama, and Clinton Is Something to Behold

New plaques placed beneath several presidential portraits at the White House are drawing attention after images surfaced this week showing sharply worded inscriptions evaluating past administrations and praising former President Ronald Reagan.

The plaques, which appear to be installed near the Rose Garden, have been attributed to President Donald Trump and reflect pointed assessments of several Democratic presidents while highlighting conservative accomplishments.

Images of the plaques were first shared online by X user @PenguinSix, a Washington, D.C.-based freelancer and live streamer known for documenting developments around the White House.

The photos show multiple framed presidential portraits accompanied by detailed text panels beneath them.

Observers analyzing the images noted consistent lighting, reflections, and shadows on the frames and glass, indicating the photographs are authentic and not digitally altered.

The plaques follow an earlier White House display involving an autopen associated with Joe Biden, which also drew attention.

The new installations expand on that theme, offering lengthy descriptions of Biden, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Ronald Reagan.

The plaque beneath Biden’s portrait contains two sections.

The top portion reads:

“Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American History. Taking office as a result of the most corrupt Election ever seen in the United States, Biden oversaw a series of unprecedented disasters that brought our Nation to the brink of destruction. His Policies caused the highest Inflation ever recorded, leading the U.S. Dollar to lose more than 20% of its value in 4 years. His Green New Scam surrendered American Energy Dominance and, by abolishing the Southern Border, Biden let 21 million people from all over the World pour into the United States, including from prisons, jails, mental institutions, and insane asylums. His Afghanistan Disaster was among the most humiliating events in American History, and resulted in the murder of 13 brave American Servicemembers, with many others gravely wounded. Seeing Biden’s devastating weakness, Russia invaded Ukraine, and Hamas terrorists launched the heinous October 7th attack on Israel.”

The second plaque beneath Biden’s portrait continues:

“Nicknamed both ‘Sleepy’ and ‘Crooked,’ Joe Biden was dominated by his Radical Left handlers. They and their allies in the Fake News Media attempted to cover up his severe mental decline, and his unprecedented use of the Autopen. Following his humiliating debate loss to President Trump in the big June 2024 debate, he was forced to withdraw from his campaign for re-election in disgrace. Biden weaponized Law Enforcement against his political opponents, while also persecuting many other innocent people. He left office issuing blanket pardons to Radical Democrat criminals and the guilty as well as members of the Biden Crime Family — But despite it all, President Trump would get Re-Elected in a Landslide, and SAVE AMERICA!”

Nearby, two plaques beneath Barack Obama’s portrait offer a critical overview of his presidency.

The first states:

“Barack Hussein Obama was the first Black President, community organizer, one term Senator from Illinois, and one of the most divisive political figures in American History. As President, he passed the highly ineffective ‘Unaffordable Care’ Act, resulting in his party losing control of both Houses of Congress, and the Election of the largest House Republican majority since 1946. He presided over a stagnant Economy, approved the terrible Iran Nuclear Deal, and signed the one-sided Paris Climate Accords, both of which were later terminated by President Donald J. Trump.”

The second Obama plaque reads:

“Under Obama, the ISIS Caliphate spread across the Middle East, Libya collapsed into chaos, and Russia invaded and took Crimea, in Ukraine. He crippled small businesses with crushing regulation and environmental red tape, devastated American coal miners, and weaponized the IRS and Federal bureaucracies against his political opponents. Obama also spied on the 2016 Presidential Campaign of Donald J. Trump, and presided over the creation of the Russia, Russia, Russia political scandal in American History. His handpicked successor, Hillary Rodham Clinton, would then lose the Presidency to Donald J. Trump.”

A single plaque beneath Bill Clinton’s portrait provides a more mixed assessment, highlighting both legislative actions and economic outcomes:

“Bill Clinton served as Attorney General and Governor of Arkansas before winning the Presidency in what was called a major upset over President George H. W. Bush. As President, Clinton signed crime and welfare legislation, which was passed with the leadership of Republicans in Congress. He approved NAFTA, which President Donald J. Trump would later terminate as being bad for the United States, welcomed China into the World Trade Organization, and oversaw NATO’s Military intervention in Bosnia and Kosovo. Despite the scandals that plagued his Presidency, the tech boom of the late 1990s resulted in excellent Economic growth, which helped him and Republicans in Congress deliver balanced budgets for the first time in decades. In 2016, President Clinton’s wife, Hillary, lost the Presidency to President Donald J. Trump!”

In contrast, the plaque beneath Ronald Reagan’s portrait offers an extended tribute:

“Ronald Reagan won the Cold War and transformed American politics and the Conservative Movement. Before entering the White House, Reagan was a Hollywood actor, President of the Screen Actors Guild, Governor of California and, for decades, a leading voice in American Conservatism. As President, he enacted Tax Cuts, presided over a thriving Economy, and rebuilt the American Military. He survived being shot by an assassin, and confronted the Soviet Union with striking moral clarity, labeling it an ‘evil empire,’ and putting unprecedented pressure on the Communist menace. Known as ‘The Great Communicator,’ he was re-elected in a Landslide in 1984, and left office with high approval, having restored National Confidence, Spirit, and Will. He was a fan of President Donald J. Trump long before President Trump’s Historic run for the White House. Likewise, President Trump was a fan of his!”

Public reaction to the plaques has varied. Some observers praised the displays as candid historical commentary, while others questioned whether such installations are an appropriate use of White House space.

SUNY Plattsburgh Approves Furry Student Club as Campus Trend Grows

A student government at a New York public college has approved a new “furry” student club, adding to a growing list of similar organizations appearing on college campuses across the United States, as reported by The New York Post.

According to a report published Tuesday by The College Fix, the Student Association at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh voted 11–1 on Nov. 16 to grant provisional recognition to a club known as “Plattsfur.”

The decision makes SUNY Plattsburgh one of several U.S. universities to formally recognize a furry-focused student organization in recent years.

Furry fandom is a subculture centered on anthropomorphized animal characters.

Members often create a personalized animal persona, commonly referred to as a “fursona,” which they use for social interaction, art, writing, role-playing, and online engagement.

The International Anthropomorphic Research Project describes the furry community as including “fans, artists, writers, gamers, and role-players” who share an interest in anthropomorphic animal characters.

The group reports that more than 75 percent of people who identify as furries are under the age of 25, and nearly 60 percent say they are currently enrolled in college.

According to SUNY Plattsburgh’s campus newspaper Cardinal Points, Plattsfur was proposed as a social and creative outlet for students who identify with the subculture. The organization currently lists 17 members.

Plattsfur president Styx Williams, a junior anthropology major, told Cardinal Points that the group was designed to provide a welcoming environment for students with shared interests.

“We aim to not only have social dialogues, but also incorporate certain elements of crafts as well as arts, and not only teach methods, but also invite people to explore stuff that they may not have before,” Williams said.

Williams said the idea for the club grew organically among friends on campus.

“Originally, this started with a handful of us that were friends that kind of just found out that we’re all furries,” Williams said.

“We realized that there’s not really a club geared toward that on campus, and through reaching out to other people in different areas of campus, we found out that there are quite a few furries on campus.”

Since receiving provisional status, Plattsfur has hosted several events, including a coloring-page meet-and-greet and a campfire gathering, according to the club’s Instagram page.

SUNY Plattsburgh’s approval reflects a broader national trend. Over the past two academic years, multiple universities have either launched or formally recognized furry-related student organizations.

These include Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Maverick Furry Club; California Polytechnic State University’s Furry Club; MataFurs at California State University, Northridge; and UTK Furries at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

At the University of California, San Diego, the campus group Triton Tails is affiliated with the Anthropomorphic Animal Appreciation Association, a global network for university-based furry clubs.

Triton Tails reports that there are now more than 100 furry club chapters at universities worldwide.

The expansion of these clubs comes as colleges continue to broaden the range of student organizations eligible for recognition, funding, and access to campus facilities.

Provisional approval typically allows new clubs to recruit members and hold events while meeting additional requirements for full recognition.

SUNY Plattsburgh did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital regarding the approval of Plattsfur or the criteria used by the Student Association in granting provisional status.

House Approves MTG Bill Targeting Gender Transition Care for Children

The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation sponsored by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., that would criminalize gender transition treatments for minors, sending the measure to the Senate, where it faces significant hurdles, as reported by Fox News.

The bill passed by a narrow 216-211 vote, with most Republicans supporting the legislation and most Democrats opposing it.

A small number of lawmakers crossed party lines. Reps. Henry Cuellar of Texas, Vicente Gonzalez of Texas, and Don Davis of North Carolina voted with Republicans in favor of the bill.

Reps. Mike Lawler of New York, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Gabe Evans of Colorado, and Mike Kennedy of Utah voted with Democrats against the measure.

Ahead of the vote, Greene promoted the legislation on X, writing,

“Children are NOT experiments. No more drugs. No more surgeries. No more permanent harm. We need to let kids grow up without manipulation from adults to make life-altering decisions! Congress must protect America’s children!!!”

House leadership agreed to bring Greene’s bill to the floor after she backed a procedural rule last week to advance the National Defense Authorization Act.

That agreement cleared the way for Wednesday’s vote after internal Republican negotiations.

The legislation would create federal criminal penalties related to gender transition treatments for minors. While it cleared the House, its path forward in the Senate remains uncertain.

Republicans would need support from Democrats in the upper chamber for the bill to become law.

The measure drew immediate criticism from left-wing advocacy groups.

The American Civil Liberties Union condemned the House vote, arguing that the bill would interfere with medical decisions involving minors and their families.

“Politicians should never prohibit parents from doing what is best for their transgender children,” said Mike Zamore, the ACLU’s national director of policy and government affairs, in a statement.

“These families often spend years considering how best to support their children, only to have ill-equipped politicians interfere by attempting to criminalize the health care that they, their children, and their doctors believe is necessary to allow their children to thrive.”

Zamore continued, “But this bill also creates an incredibly dangerous precedent far beyond the specific care at issue, criminalizing care based on ideology and placing Washington politicians between families and their doctors. We strongly condemn the passage of this measure and urge members of the Senate to do everything in their power to prevent it from ever becoming law.”

Before final passage, Greene publicly clashed with Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, over a proposed amendment.

Roy, who serves on the House Rules Committee, introduced language intended to modify the bill by limiting federal criminal liability in certain cases.

According to the Rules Committee, the amendment sought to define when prohibited conduct would fall within federal jurisdiction.

Greene opposed the amendment, arguing that it weakened the scope of the legislation.

WASHINGTON – February 5, 2025: Marjorie Taylor Greene thumbs her nose at President Donald Trump by signing an executive order banning transgender athletes from practicing women’s sports in the East Room of the White House.

She wrote on X that her bill “criminalizes ALL pediatric gender affirming care (transgender surgeries, puberty blockers, and hormones) NOT just those receiving federal funds and protects ALL children allowing them to grow up before they make permanent changes to their body that they can never undo!!!”

She also criticized Roy personally, writing, “WTF is Chip Roy doing????? And this guy wants to be attorney general of Texas but refuses to protect children??!!!”

Roy responded by defending his constitutional concerns, stating that “the constitution matters & we should not bastardize it to use ‘interstate commerce’ to empower federal authorities.”

Despite the disagreement, Roy later said he would not offer the amendment, explaining in a statement on Wednesday that he wanted “to avoid any confusion about how united Republicans are in protecting children from these grotesque procedures.”

With House passage complete, the bill now awaits consideration in the Senate, where its future remains uncertain.

Cover-Up Questions Swirl as Brown University Shooting Investigation Continues

Authorities continue to investigate a shooting at Brown University that left two students dead and at least eight others wounded, as law enforcement officials work to identify a suspect and gather evidence following the attack inside an engineering building on campus.

The shooting occurred Saturday as students were preparing for final exams.

A gunman opened fire inside the engineering building, killing two people and wounding at least eight others, according to officials.

As of the latest public briefings, authorities have not identified a suspect and have released only limited images described as showing a “person of interest.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation. The agency released enhanced video footage of the person of interest and announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to an arrest.

FBI agents and local law enforcement officers have gone door to door in surrounding areas seeking surveillance footage and additional evidence.

Despite multiple press conferences held by Brown University officials and city authorities, investigators have acknowledged that they do not yet have a named suspect.

Officials have continued to state publicly that there are no suspects in custody.

During press briefings, police declined to address reports that the shooter shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.

Law enforcement officials did not confirm or deny those reports and did not provide further details when asked by reporters.

Attention has also focused on actions taken by Brown University in the days following the shooting.

Observers noted that the university removed several webpages connected to student assistant Mustapha Kharbouch.

Archived versions of those pages described Kharbouch as a queer Palestinian activist, a third-generation Palestinian refugee born and raised in Lebanon, and an advocate for “Free Palestine” and LGBTQ causes.

The pages also included references to preferred pronouns and featured the student prominently on university-affiliated websites.

Law enforcement officials have not named Kharbouch as a suspect.

Authorities have repeatedly stated that there are no suspects in the case at this time.

Brown University issued a statement explaining the removal of the webpages.

The university said a member of the campus community was experiencing “harmful doxxing activity” and that limiting access to online information was a step taken to protect that individual’s safety.

University officials stated that such actions are not unusual under those circumstances.

A screenshot of the university’s statement circulated widely online, prompting questions from members of the public and the media regarding the timing of the removals.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha addressed the issue during a press interaction.

When asked about the removal of Kharbouch’s online profiles, Neronha criticized reporters and said they were “playing a dangerous game.”

He did not provide specific details regarding the university’s actions or the investigative status related to the removed content.

Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information, including video footage from the area, to come forward and contact investigators.

The shooting has prompted heightened security measures on campus and counseling resources for students and staff. University officials said classes and exams were disrupted as a result of the incident, and additional support services were made available.

Officials have not released the names of the victims pending notification of next of kin.

Police have also not provided details about the weapon used or a possible motive.

As the investigation continues, federal, state, and local authorities remain involved in reviewing evidence and pursuing leads.

Law enforcement officials have stated that they will release additional information as it becomes available.

Ted Cruz Applauds John Fetterman’s Stand Against Antisemitism in His Own Party

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., found rare bipartisan agreement Tuesday as they jointly condemned antisemitism during an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity,” following the deadly Dec. 14 mass shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, as reported by Fox News.

The two senators appeared together on the program hosted by Sean Hannity, where Cruz publicly praised Fetterman for confronting antisemitism within his own party.

“I just want to commend John Fetterman for the courage he’s served… he’s shown extraordinary courage calling out antisemitism in his own party. And he’s done so at considerable cost to himself,” Cruz said during the interview.

Senator John Fetterman, D-Pa., attends a hearing of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs considering nominations on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Their discussion centered on the Bondi Beach shooting, which occurred as roughly 1,000 people gathered at Australia’s most popular beach to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah. Authorities say the attack left 15 people dead and 42 others hospitalized, including two police officers.

Reports indicate that one of the victims was a Holocaust survivor.

“What we saw on Bondi Beach was the latest manifestation of this evil, and this evil is spreading. This hatred of Israel. This hatred of Jews,” Cruz said.

“They [Jews] can’t even celebrate, you know, one of their holidays without getting gunned down and mowed and targeted,” Fetterman added.

Fetterman described the attack as a “horrific massacre” and stressed that antisemitism is an issue Democrats must directly address. Cruz agreed, condemning the violence in strong terms.

“It is grotesque, it is evil, and it is dangerous, and we need to stand up and front it,” Cruz said.

New South Wales police confirmed that two suspects, identified as a father and son, were taken into custody following the attack.

The father, 50, later died, while his 24-year-old son remains hospitalized with injuries. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the attack was motivated by “Islamic State ideology.”

Cruz echoed that assessment during the interview.

“Radical Islamic terrorism, they are at war with us,” Cruz told Fox News. “This is their objective. There’s evidence that this father-son duo of murderers were [sic] affiliated with ISIS.”

Authorities also credited Ahmed al Ahmed, a 43-year-old Muslim man, with disarming one of the attackers.

Video of Ahmed wrestling a firearm away from the gunman circulated widely online. Albanese later referred to Ahmed as an “Australian hero.”

In the aftermath of the shooting, Israeli officials sharply criticized the Australian government for what they described as failures to protect Jewish communities amid a surge in antisemitic incidents.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the attack on X by revealing that he had previously warned Albanese about rising antisemitism.

“I told him: ‘Your policy encourages terrorism. It encourages antisemitism,’” Netanyahu wrote.

The senators also discussed foreign policy, expressing agreement with President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities during his second term.

“The single most important foreign policy decision President Trump has made in the second term was the decision to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities,” Cruz said.

“When the Ayatollah chants death to America, I believe him,” Cruz added.

“The president as commander-in-chief has an obligation to keep the American people safe, and allowing the Ayatollah to acquire a nuclear weapon that he could use to murder thousands or even millions of Americans was an unacceptable risk.”

Fetterman called the strike “absolutely” appropriate.

“I believe I was the only Democrat that was actually calling for and fully supported bombing the Iranian nuclear facility,” Fetterman said.

The conversation concluded with domestic concerns, including rising antisemitic incidents in the United States.

Fetterman criticized former President Joe Biden’s border policies, calling them a “disaster,” and argued for stricter immigration vetting.

“It’s also reasonable to bring in people that have the kinds of values that are compatible with our values,” Fetterman said.

“That is not about free speech. That’s about bringing on the people that want to assimilate, and they want to build their lives in our country, not becoming part of a destructive force in our nation.”

Tim Walz Should Face Charges of Aiding and Abetting Criminal Behavior: Rep Steube

Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) said Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz could face criminal liability in connection with a Somali fraud scheme that allegedly sent U.S. taxpayer dollars to al-Shabaab, arguing that both the perpetrators and state leadership should be investigated by the Department of Justice.

Steube’s remarks came during an exchange with conservative commentator Benny Johnson, who framed the issue around national security and the handling of Afghan refugees brought into the country under Joe Biden.

“The Somali fraud allegedly funded Muslim terrorism, the same kind of Muslim terrorism that we’re seeing on the streets of Washington, DC, and the killing of our National Guardsmen,” Johnson said.

“What needs to be done here with the Afghan refugees that were brought in here wholesale by Joe Biden? What needs to be done with the Somali fraudsters who are funding al Shabaab with our tax dollars?”

Steube responded by pointing first to what he described as serious failures in vetting Afghan refugees admitted into the United States.

“Well, we know that those Afghan refugees were not vetted,” Steube said.

“They should be fully vetted by this current administration, and I’m sure they’re working on doing that.”

He said the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies have overwhelmed federal enforcement agencies.

“They have so many things that they’re working on that they need more ICE agents and they need more Border Patrol agents to go through all the litany of the open border policies of Joe Biden over the last four years, and the 12 million illegals that are in our country,” Steube said.

Steube cited testimony indicating that known security threats remain inside the United States.

“Yesterday, in the testimony, there was still, there’s still 100 something, or several 100 known terrorists that the Biden administration led into our country that they’re trying to search and get out,” he said.

Turning to the alleged fraud itself, Steube said criminal charges should be pursued.

“But that is one piece, and then the fraud should also be investigated from the DOJ, that’s criminal penalties,” he said.

“That’s stealing taxpayer dollars when you don’t have a right to be able to get those.”

Steube said accountability should extend beyond the individuals who carried out the fraud.

“And I believe not only the people that defrauded the United States out of those taxpayer dollars on those government programs should be held criminally liable,” he said.

“I think the leaders of that state, like Walz, who knew or should have known, that this was going on, should be held accountable as well.”

Johnson pressed Steube on how such accountability would work in practice.

“Okay, so how does that? How does that work? So, yeah, Tim Walz, like is, would this be a DOJ thing?” he asked.

Steube said federal prosecutors could pursue the matter under several criminal theories.

“Well, it’d be like a conspiracy case,” he said.

“It would be like you aided and abetted criminal behavior.”

He added that multiple legal avenues could apply if state leadership was aware of the fraud or allowed it to continue.

“I mean, there’s all sorts of different statutes you could probably tie in if he knew, or should have known, that fraudulent activity was going on in his state, or even took steps to allow it to occur,” Steube said.

“That’s aiding and abetting criminal behavior. That’s obstruction. I mean, there’s a whole bunch of different things, statues that they could lop in for that.”

Repeat Arrests, No Consequences: Freed Offender Attacks Chicago Doctor At Hospital

A Chicago cardiologist was attacked inside an elevator at Northwestern Memorial Hospital by a man who has been arrested more than a dozen times this year, according to court documents and police reports, as reported by the Gateway Pundit.

The 42-year-old doctor entered the elevator when she was allegedly followed by Sean Popps, who then is alleged to have repeatedly punched her in the head.

Officials said she stumbled backward and covered her face as the beating continued.

Chicago police reported that Popps has been arrested 12 times in 2024 in the area surrounding the campus. Records show he was arrested seven times this year and six additional times between 2020 and 2023.

CWC Chicago reported that the victim suffered “multiple bruises, abrasions, and hematomas to her face, head, arm, and hand.” Authorities said the doctor had no prior contact with Popps and that the attack was unprovoked.

A Northwestern security officer identified Popps immediately after reviewing surveillance footage, noting “approximately 30 plus prior incidents at the hospital where [Popps] had to be removed,” according to a detention petition.

Another officer stated he had “incidents with [Popps] approximately two times a day over the last 19 months.”

At the time of the assault, Popps was out on pretrial release stemming from an October trespassing case at a Streeterville residential building. In that incident, he allegedly attempted to escape from a police station lockup.

The repeated encounters with Popps and the circumstances of the attack have renewed attention on Cook County’s handling of violent repeat offenders and pretrial release policies.

The case comes as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has publicly argued against increased incarceration as a response to crime.

In remarks made alongside Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Johnson said, “We cannot incarcerate our way out of violence,” adding, “We have already tried that, and we have ended up with the largest prison population in the world, without solving the problems of crime and violence.”

He continued, “The addiction on jails and incarceration in this country, we have moved past that. It is racist. It is immoral. It is unholy and it is not the way to drive violence down.”

The attack inside the hospital elevator remains under investigation.
