Joy Reid Says She’d Like to Speak to the Manager About Penises in Ladies’ Locker Rooms

Former MSNBC host Joy Reid said she would “freak out” if she encountered a biological man in a women’s locker room, describing her own discomfort with the situation during an episode of the Reid This Reid That podcast with journalist Jacque Reid.

The discussion centered on a recent incident at a Gold’s Gym involving a black woman and a “transgender woman.”

Jacque Reid recounted how the woman, identified as Tish Hyman, was “kicked out of the gym” after objecting to a biological male entering the women’s locker room. Jacque Reid said Hyman described the individual as a “grown man with a big penis.”

During the conversation, Joy Reid discussed her own habits when she previously worked for MSNBC, now known as MS NOW.

She said she preferred to change in a private room because she did not want to undress in front of others.

“I would always change in, like, a private room because I’m like, I’m not trying to change in front of people like that,” Joy Reid said.

“I don’t need people to see me naked and then see me in the hallway later. But, then, I would come out of my little private dressing room, and there would be women walking around — I’m talking about women — women walking around with their boobies danglin’, swinging in the breeze, and it’s not even like perky boobies, just boobies drooping to their knees. They kicking their boobies down the street, and they want to walk up and have a conversation with you. And, I’m like, ‘Don’t walk up to me with no clothes on and talk to me. I don’t want to talk to you.’”

Reid said she already found those situations “alarming” and made clear that seeing a biological man in the same space would heighten her reaction.

“I’m alarmed enough when I see a woman with her dangling boobies; if I saw a penis in the ladies’ locker room, I would freak out too. This is nothing against trans-anybody,” she said.

She added that she would likely “go to management” and ask why a naked man was in the women’s locker room.

Reid’s comments follow past statements she has made criticizing Republican positions on transgender policies.

She previously accused Republicans of conducting a “nationwide crusade against transgender people,” a position she labeled “dangerous and evil.”

In December 2024, she compared efforts to prevent minors from receiving gender reassignment surgery to actions reminiscent of “Nazi Germany,” according to reporting from Fox News at the time.

Former NJ Democrat Mayor Arrested for Alleged Drugging and Sexual Assault of a Minor

Andrew LaBruno, the former Democratic mayor of Dumont and a current Jersey City police sergeant, was arrested Monday and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a juvenile he met on social media, according to officials and reporting from NorthJersey.com.

LaBruno, 44, allegedly initiated an online conversation with the minor before arranging to meet in person.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said the victim did not know LaBruno prior to the interaction.

According to an affidavit of probable cause cited by NorthJersey.com, LaBruno arrived at the juvenile’s residence in Englewood while the minor was home alone.

Prosecutors said LaBruno sprayed an “unknown substance” into his hand and held it over the juvenile’s mouth and nose, which caused the victim to become dizzy.

The Prosecutor’s Office stated that LaBruno “sexually assaulted and endangered the juvenile” during the encounter.

Following the investigation, LaBruno was arrested on Nov. 17.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors said he was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where he is being held pending a detention hearing.

LaBruno previously served as mayor of Dumont before leaving office.

He is currently employed as a police sergeant in Jersey City.

The Prosecutor’s Office has not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading to his arrest or whether further charges may be considered as the investigation continues.

Ignorant People Want to Keep the Department of Education, Informed People Don’t: Poll

A new survey indicates that voter support for closing the Department of Education increases significantly once respondents are provided with additional information about how the change would work.

The poll was conducted by the Yes Every Kid Foundation, an organization that advocates for school choice.

At the outset, 51 percent of respondents said they opposed shutting down the Department, while 38 percent supported the idea.

After learning that K–12 funding would remain in place and that functions would be reassigned to other federal agencies, support rose to 56 percent.

Opposition declined to 30 percent.

Madi Biedermann, deputy assistant secretary for communications at the Department of Education, discussed the administration’s approach in comments to the New York Post.

She said, “President Trump and Secretary [Linda] McMahon are dedicated to improving education for our nation’s students — and that begins with empowering those who are closest to the child.

Returning education to the states means rightsizing the federal role in education by removing unnecessary red tape and micromanagement by DC while maintaining critical funding for students with disabilities and low-income schools and continuing to protect students’ civil rights.”

The poll showed that support rose again after respondents were informed about long-term declines in reading and math scores.

With that additional context, 59 percent said they favored closing the Department.

The survey’s findings come as the administration continues efforts to reduce the Department of Education’s size.

President Trump has directed Education Secretary Linda McMahon to shrink the department to what he described as the “maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law.”

According to the information released, the department has been reduced by nearly half, with several programs consolidated as part of preparations for a potential closure.

Closing the Department of Education would require legislation passed by Congress.

Republicans do not currently have enough votes to enact such a measure, but the administration has said it will continue to pursue reductions allowed under existing law.

The Yes Every Kid Foundation survey contrasts with other polling frequently cited by major media outlets, which has indicated that closing the Department would be unpopular.

The new findings suggest that voter opinions shift once respondents receive more detailed explanations about funding, program transitions, and the roles of state governments.

The poll results reflect ongoing discussions in Washington about federal involvement in education policy.

The administration has emphasized that any restructuring would maintain funding for students with disabilities and low-income schools while shifting other responsibilities to states or different federal agencies.

Viral Video Shows Chicago Kids Attacking Family, Community Erupts, Demands Action

Residents in Chicago’s South Deering neighborhood gathered this week demanding action after a widely shared video showed a mother and her two children being attacked by a group of schoolchildren on Monday afternoon.

According to police and witnesses, 33-year-old Corshawnda Hatter was walking with her son and daughter at about 3 p.m. on South Bensley Avenue after leaving Orville Bright Elementary School when a group of children confronted them.

The video, recorded by bystanders and circulated on social media, shows several children laughing and mocking the family before cornering them against a chain-link fence.

The footage shows Hatter attempting to shield her children as multiple juveniles begin punching her.

She is dragged to the ground, where she is kicked and struck repeatedly. The video runs approximately two minutes.

Hatter and her son were treated at a hospital for injuries sustained during the attack.

Her daughter was not reported to be hospitalized.

On Tuesday, dozens of residents assembled outside the school calling for accountability and demanding expulsions for those involved.

During the gathering, Hatter recounted what happened.

“I asked my kids to come to the next side of the street with me, so they wouldn’t get jumped,” she said.

“So we kept walking. They followed us all the way. And then they fought my son and hit my son first. … Then they dragged me in the grass and pulled my little baby’s hair out.”

Hatter said she had met with school officials regarding the incident.

Several residents told WGN-TV that similar problems have persisted in the area and expressed frustration with the lack of parental involvement.

“It’s been an ongoing thing in this community, and the parents don’t take accountability for anything their kids do,” one parent said.

“If my kids were being messy, I’m going to come out here and let it be known. I’m going to shut it down.”

Chicago Public Schools released a statement acknowledging the attack and stating that the district was coordinating with multiple city departments.

“We are horrified by the attack on this family, and we are working collaboratively with city departments and agencies to provide support to the victims of the attack. CPS is coordinating closely with the Mayor’s Office, CPD, CHA, and other city departments to provide additional support to the family,” the statement said in part.

“School administrators, teachers, and support staff work with students to create an open environment where conflicts and grievances can be addressed.”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson issued a statement on social media describing the attack as “unacceptable” and expressing that he was deeply disturbed by what occurred.

Hatter also said outside the school that her son had been bullied before.

“I’m trying to get justice for my son,” she said.

A supporter responded, “And you deserve it!”

Chicago police said no arrests had been made as of Wednesday but confirmed that the department had increased its presence around Orville Bright Elementary School for the remainder of the week.

Hakeem Jeffries’ Team Sought Donations from Jeffrey Epstein, Newly Released Email Shows

A newly released set of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein includes an email indicating that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ representatives sought financial support and a meeting with Epstein in 2013, at a time when Epstein was already a convicted sex offender.

The email was sent by a firm representing Jeffries during his early years in Congress.

According to the documents, the message promoted Jeffries as a prominent figure within the New York delegation.

The email read, “We are thrilled to announce that we are working with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, one of the rising stars in the New York Congressional delegation.

Sometimes referred to as ‘Brooklyn’s Barack’, he is a staunch supporter of President Obama and a progressive voice for the people of New York City.”

The correspondence sought to arrange a dinner involving Jeffries and Epstein.

“Shoot us an email or give us a call … if you would like to get involved with the dinner, or would like to get an opportunity to get to know Hakeem better,” the representatives wrote.

“He is an impressive guy and who will be a progressive voice for New York politics for years to come.”

The message was sent in 2013, which is the same year

Jeffries began his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

At that time, Epstein had already been convicted of soliciting a minor in Florida and was a registered sex offender.

The email resurfaced as part of ongoing releases of Epstein-related files.

These documents include communications, records, and materials sought by investigators and lawmakers examining Epstein’s connections and interactions with public officials, political figures, and others who had contact with him before his 2019 arrest.

The documents were disclosed as part of a broader push to release material associated with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Both names have appeared in calls from lawmakers and victims’ advocates seeking full public access to all records related to Epstein’s conduct, associates, and the investigations connected to his sex trafficking operation.

Jeffries has publicly supported the release of all documents connected to Epstein.

He has also called for full disclosure of files related to Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in facilitating Epstein’s crimes.

Lawmakers across both parties have asked for transparency surrounding the individuals who communicated or met with Epstein during the years following his initial conviction.

The newly released documents continue to shed light on individuals and organizations that interacted with Epstein, who maintained social, financial, and political contacts for years after his conviction.

The 2013 email involving Jeffries’ representatives is one of several communications uncovered in the latest batch of files.

Clash Breaks Out on CNN After Trump Says Release the Epstein Files

A debate on “CNN News Central” turned contentious Monday as panelists clashed over President Donald Trump’s call for the release of all files tied to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The discussion centered on how Democrats and the media have framed the issue and whether the focus is being directed at Trump without evidence linking him to criminal activity.

Republican strategist Melik Abdul argued that Democrats are using the files to shape public perception against Trump, despite no documentation connecting him to crimes within the Epstein investigation.

Abdul and Christine Quinn, the New York State Democratic Assembly executive committee chair, disagreed sharply on whether the political narrative surrounding the files is aimed at Trump.

“But I think what the frustration that Donald Trump and many people, even like me, who’ve been critical of Donald Trump at times, we realize that this is an effort, this whole Epstein effort, is an effort to really prosecute Donald Trump in the court of public opinion,” Abdul said.

“There is not a single shred of evidence that links Donald Trump to a single crime, not a victim, not a court case links Donald Trump into a crime. And I know that the media itself is aware of that. But the more you keep talking about it over and over again, linking Donald Trump to something potentially nefarious that actually gets the news cycle going. But everyone knows that there is no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime. But I am glad that he ended up in this same space.”

Quinn countered that the matter is not centered on Trump and that the president is creating the impression that he is central to the files.

She said the priority should be the victims of Epstein’s crimes.

“This isn’t about Donald Trump. We don’t know what’s in those files. He’s created the belief that there’s something about him in there because he won’t release them. This is about those women and girls who were victimized and raped and assaulted and getting the facts out there. Donald Trump is making it about Donald Trump. This is about the survivors and we need to focus on that,” Quinn said.

Abdul said the recent email release from House Democrats featured Trump, indicating a political motive rather than a focus on victims. He noted that the material overwhelmingly referenced the president.

“I just want to say that that’s a very nice narrative that it’s not about Donald Trump. If it were about Donald Trump, the 20 plus thousand pages that we have so far would mention someone other than one single person. This isn’t about concern for the victims. This is about Donald Trump for sure,” Abdul said.

Quinn objected to the suggestion that she lacked concern for victims.

“Don’t tell me I’m not concerned about victims. I’ve dedicated a big part of my life fighting for victims of sexual assault,” she said.

“Well, you should start mentioning other people’s names. You should start mentioning other people’s names other than Donald Trump,” Abdul replied.

House Democrats released the emails Wednesday.

In the documents, Epstein suggested Trump knew about his trafficking operation and sat in a room with victims.

The records redacted the name of Virginia Giuffre, a victim who stated in 2011 that Trump did not engage in sexual acts with Epstein’s victims during her time with him.

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday that House Republicans should release the files because they have “nothing to hide.”

Additional statements from Epstein’s victims were reported by NBC News in September, with several saying they never saw or heard of Trump engaging in illegal activity during his association with Epstein.

Ghislaine Maxwell said in a July 24 deposition that Trump was a “gentleman in all respects” and that she never witnessed inappropriate behavior by him.

Republican Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Nancy Mace of South Carolina and Lauren Boebert of Colorado signed a petition supporting the release of the files.

Trump Flips the Entire Script on Democrats’ Push to Release the Epstein Files

President Trump said Sunday that House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files as Congress prepares to consider legislation requiring the Justice Department to make the documents public.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.”

The House is expected to vote this week on a proposal directing the Justice Department to release the files. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said he believes “100 or more” Republicans could support the measure. It is not yet clear whether the Senate would take up the legislation.

The renewed focus on the documents follows a series of releases involving emails connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

Democrats initially circulated selected emails they believed would harm Trump politically.

House Republicans then made more than 20,000 additional emails public, and several of the messages contradicted claims that Trump and Epstein maintained a close relationship.

In a February 2017 message to former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, Epstein wrote that he had “met some very bad people,” but “none as bad as trump.”

In another exchange with Kathryn Ruemmler, who served as White House counsel under President Barack Obama, Epstein wrote that Trump was “worse in real life and upclose” after Ruemmler had sent a text calling Trump “so gross.”

Other emails showed Epstein discussing blackmailing Trump with author Michael Wolff.

Additional correspondence indicated that Epstein communicated with Stacey Plaskett, the delegate from the U.S. Virgin Islands, during Michael Cohen’s 2019 congressional testimony.

The messages appeared to show Epstein offering her advice during the hearing.

Following the release of the emails by House Republicans, Democrats opposed an effort last week to make the Epstein files public.

Trump said in his Truth Social post that the Justice Department has already provided significant material.

“The Department of Justice has already turned over tens of thousands of pages to the Public on ‘Epstein,’ are looking at various Democrat operatives (Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, Larry Summers, etc.) and their relationship to Epstein, and the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DON’T CARE!,” Trump wrote. He added that he wanted Republicans to get “BACK ON POINT.”

The House vote scheduled for this week will determine whether the broader set of Epstein-related documents will be released to the public.

Dem Rep Raskin Responds After Accusation of Using Illegally Leaked Emails to Attack Trump

Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland is facing questions after Ghislaine Maxwell’s attorney said federal prison employees were fired for accessing and leaking confidential attorney-client emails that were then routed to Raskin and released to the media.

Maxwell’s attorney, Leah Saffian, confirmed the terminations and said the messages were improperly pulled from Maxwell’s privileged communications system at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.

According to Saffian, the sequence of events involved multiple violations of federal procedure. She said prison employees at FPC Bryan accessed Maxwell’s email system, took privileged attorney communications, and provided them to a federal official. Saffian identified that official as Raskin.

She said Raskin later released the emails publicly under what she described as a false claim of “whistleblower” disclosure.

Court filings reviewed by multiple outlets have previously noted concerns about improper access to Maxwell’s attorney-client emails, but Saffian’s statements on Friday marked the first time her legal team directly linked the activity to disciplinary action against federal employees.

She also challenged claims that Maxwell had been attempting to secure clemency.

According to Saffian, Maxwell “has never sought a pardon” and has not asked President Donald Trump or any other official to intervene in her case.

She said Maxwell’s filings relate to allegations of misconduct, not to any request for leniency.

Raskin has previously raised questions in Congress about how federal resources were used in relation to the Epstein and Maxwell cases.

As ABC News noted, he earlier accused the Trump administration of allowing “a corrupt misuse of law-enforcement resources.”

He called for Deputy U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche to testify before the House Judiciary Committee to “answer for this corrupt misuse of law enforcement resources and potential exchange of favors for false testimony exonerating you and other Epstein accomplices.”

Following the new claims from Maxwell’s attorney, Raskin addressed the issue in an appearance on MSNBC on Friday.

In the interview, he said the allegations were unclear and questioned how details about personnel actions involving Bureau of Prisons employees could have been obtained.

“This is very strange to me, that there are employees who’ve been fired because of what they’ve done. I’m curious how they would know that,” Raskin said.

“Uh, that sounds like a breach of whatever employee’s personnel records are… The allegation appears to be that her attorney-client privilege was somehow compromised in the TruLink system.”

Raskin also said his office would not discuss the origins of the material it received.

“We’re not saying where we got any information that we received. And it may not even be from the people that she’s talking about,” he said.

Prison officials have not publicly commented on the reported terminations.

The Bureau of Prisons has previously said it does not disclose personnel matters, and the Office of the Inspector General has not released findings on the alleged breaches.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year federal sentence following her 2021 conviction on charges related to the sexual exploitation and trafficking of minors.

Her legal team has continued to pursue filings alleging procedural violations and misconduct in her case, while maintaining that she has not sought clemency from any administration.

Further inquiries into the handling of the leaked emails and the reported disciplinary actions at FPC Bryan remain ongoing.

Senator Kennedy Delivers a Signature One-Liner Right to ‘Chuck Schumer’s Testicles’

Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana discussed internal divisions within the Democratic Party during an appearance on “Will Cain Country,” addressing disagreements over the recent government shutdown fight and the role of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York.

Host Will Cain asked Kennedy about differences between Democrats who supported reopening the government and those who opposed doing so.

Cain said, “There’s something about this government reopening that has completely divided the left.”

Kennedy responded, “Senator Schumer gambled, and he lost, and he’s kind of walking around now looking like a guy who just lost his luggage.”

He added, “He did this to try to make the Bolshevik wing, which is in control of his party like him, love him, and now they’re madder than ever at him.”

Kennedy referred to the party faction he described as the “Bolshevik wing” or “socialist wing,” associating it with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York’s 14th District.

He suggested that Ocasio-Cortez could pursue future leadership roles, including a challenge to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York’s 8th District or a potential run for Schumer’s Senate seat.

Kennedy said, “There are a lot of Democrats, one of whom I think is Senator Schumer, who understand that, uh, the loon wing of his party are a bunch of loons. But, I think he’s scared of them.”

He added, “I think his testicles are on back order from China.”

During the interview, Kennedy also discussed Ocasio-Cortez’s influence within the party.

He said, “They love her like the devil loves sin, man. I mean, they just uh—and I get why. She’s attractive. She’s pretty articulate on television. She’s bold in her statements. But I’ve never heard anybody describe her as a policy maven.”

He added, “My experience with her is if you scratch the surface, you just get more surface.”

Kennedy said he believed the Democratic Party is experiencing a shift in its internal balance of power.

“I don’t think the loon wing of the party is the majority of the Democratic party,” he said.

“Maybe I’m naive, but it’s clear that the loon wing of the party is the loudest. It’s clear that she leads them. It’s clear that they are in the ascendancy.”

He added, “And it’s clear that until the more rational Democrats stand up to her and them, the chaos will continue.”

Kennedy’s remarks followed recent comments from Ocasio-Cortez that observers interpreted as a possible indication that long-standing Democratic leaders, including Schumer, could face primary challenges from the left. The senator referenced those discussions while assessing the direction of the party.

Joe Rogan and Adam Carolla Blast BBC for ‘Cooking’ Trump Speech to Push False Narrative

Comedians Joe Rogan and Adam Carolla criticized the BBC during an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Friday, focusing on an edit made to President Donald Trump’s January 6, 2021, speech in a recent installment of the network’s “Panorama” series.

The edit combined two separate lines from the speech delivered nearly an hour apart, creating the appearance that Trump had encouraged violence.

The BBC apologized to President Trump on Thursday for the edit but denied that the sequence met the standard for defamation.

Trump has demanded damages over the broadcast.

Rogan and Carolla argued on the podcast that the editing choice reflected bias and could not be dismissed as a simple mistake.

“They felt justified in editing something to make it look like he had a completely different sentence,” Rogan said.

Carolla said the edit undercut BBC’s denials of political bias.

“Well, the funny thing about it is whenever they confront the outgoing head who’s on the way out, they always go, ‘Yeah, we did this, but we’re not biased at all’ … it’s one or the other, bitch,” Carolla said.

“Yes, you are biased. And why did you do it? … By the way, you didn’t get the tape like this. You edited the tape like this. So that’s a calorie burner right there.”

The fallout from the broadcast led to resignations inside the BBC.

Director General Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness resigned on Sunday.

In her statement, Turness acknowledged that “mistakes have been made,” but she rejected allegations that the organization’s coverage reflected bias.

Rogan said the length of time between the two Trump remarks made the edit indefensible.

“It’s not a thing you could say you made a mistake when it’s literally 53, 54 minutes later he says the second part of the sentence,” Rogan said.

“That’s crazy.”

Carolla added that the edit damaged BBC’s credibility.

“Yeah. So you’re biased and you’re cooking it,” Carolla said.

“And that means we don’t need to listen to the BBC anymore.”

The edit in question combined Trump’s line, “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol,” with the later line, “We fight like hell.” In the full speech, Trump said, “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women.”

The network has maintained that while the edit was inappropriate, it did not meet the legal threshold for defamation.
