Atlanta Cop Tackles Suspect Before Mocking Him: ‘We Ain’t the Normal Police, Pimp!’

Atlanta police released dashcam and bodycam footage earlier this month showing officers from a specialized unit converging on and arresting a homicide suspect who was armed with a handgun modified to fire fully automatically.

According to police, officers with the Atlanta Police Department’s Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit were alerted on Oct. 28 that a homicide suspect was driving in the area of Pickfair Way SW near Ashwood Avenue NW.

Investigators had identified the suspect as wanted in connection with a prior killing, prompting officers to move quickly once the vehicle was located.

Police said officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle and used multiple patrol cars in an effort to box it in and prevent an escape.

The maneuver was intended to safely contain the suspect and avoid a pursuit through nearby residential streets.

However, police said the suspect attempted to break free by ramming patrol vehicles positioned both in front of and behind him.

After striking the police vehicles, the suspect exited his car and fled on foot while armed with a handgun that had been modified to operate as a fully automatic weapon, according to police.

The footage shows officers exiting their vehicles and chasing the suspect as he ran toward an adjacent wooded area.

While fleeing, police said the suspect threw the firearm into the wooded area.

Moments later, officers caught up to him and tackled him to the street, bringing the foot pursuit to an end.

Bodycam audio captured one officer shouting, “Get your ass on the ground!” as the suspect was taken down.

Once on the ground, the suspect quickly surrendered to police.

“You got me!” he told the arresting officer, according to the video.

As officers placed him in handcuffs, one officer was heard telling the suspect, “You done f**ked up, son! … Ram our f**kin’ car? We ain’t the normal police, pimp!”

The exchange occurred as officers secured the suspect and ensured the scene was safe.

Police later identified the suspect as 37-year-old Keith Hawkins. Authorities said Hawkins was wanted for his involvement in a homicide that occurred on April 9 at 700 Eloise Street SE in Atlanta.

Details of that earlier homicide were not released in the video announcement.

Following his arrest, Hawkins was charged with multiple offenses, police said.

The charges include murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on two counts, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a machine gun, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, and operating a vehicle without insurance.

Police confirmed that the handgun recovered from the wooded area had been modified to function as a machine gun, a serious felony under both state and federal law.

Investigators also emphasized the danger posed by the suspect’s actions, citing both the attempted escape involving police vehicles and the presence of a fully automatic firearm in a populated area.

After being taken into custody, Hawkins was transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing, police said.

No officers were reported injured during the arrest, and authorities did not indicate whether the suspect sustained injuries beyond being taken to the ground.

The Atlanta Police Department said the video was released to provide transparency into the actions taken by officers during the arrest and to show the risks officers face when confronting armed and dangerous suspects.

The department did not release additional details about the ongoing homicide investigation connected to Hawkins’ charges.

Officials said the case remains active and that further information may be released as court proceedings move forward.

Bondi Beach Massacre: Jewish Holiday Celebration Targeted by Terror Attack

A mass shooting during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday left at least ten people dead and eleven others injured, according to Australian authorities.

The New South Wales Police Force confirmed on X that ten people were killed in the shooting.

Among the dead was one of the suspected gunmen involved in the attack.

Police said a second alleged shooter remains in critical condition following the incident.

Authorities also confirmed that at least eleven people were injured during the shooting, including two police officers who were responding to the scene.

The shooting occurred during a public Hanukkah observance at Bondi Beach, where members of the Jewish community had gathered to mark the holiday.

The event was taking place as participants lit the first candle of Hanukkah when the attack unfolded, according to statements later made by Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

The New South Wales Police Force announced the fatalities and injuries in a statement posted to X, providing confirmation of the death toll and the status of the suspected shooters.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog addressed the attack while speaking Sunday at an event in Jerusalem that recognized the extraordinary achievements of immigrants.

During his remarks, Herzog acknowledged the violence in Australia and described the attack as targeting Jews gathered for a religious observance.

“At these very moments, our sisters and brothers in Sydney, Australia, have been attacked by vile terrorists in a very cruel attack on Jews who went to light the first candle of Chanukah on Bondi Beach,” Herzog said.

“Our hearts go out to them. The heart of the entire nation of Israel misses a beat at this very moment, as we pray for the recovery of the wounded, we pray for them and we pray for those who lost their lives.”

Herzog also issued a call directed at the Australian government, urging officials to take action in response to antisemitism.

He said Australia should “seek action and fight against the enormous wave of antisemitism which is plaguing Australian society.”

The investigation remains ongoing, with police continuing to assess evidence and interview witnesses connected to the shooting.

The incident has drawn international attention due to the scale of the casualties and the location of the attack during a religious gathering.

Bondi Beach is one of Sydney’s most well-known public locations and is typically crowded during holiday periods.

Police confirmed that two officers were among those injured while responding to the scene.

The shooting comes as Jewish communities worldwide mark Hanukkah, a multi-day holiday observed with public and private gatherings.

Resurfaced Video Shows Joy Reid Calling Founding Fathers ‘Leeches’ and ‘Killers’ in Extended Rant

A resurfaced video of former MSNBC host Joy Reid circulated widely on social media Sunday, highlighting comments in which she referred to the Founding Fathers as “killers” and “leeches” while accusing them of committing genocide against indigenous populations, as reported by The Independent Journal Review.

The clip renewed scrutiny of Reid’s past commentary during a period of major organizational changes at the network.

Reid was dismissed from MSNBC in February as the network restructured following significant ratings declines.

Comcast later announced it would spin off MSNBC, CNBC, USA, E!, Oxygen, SyFy, and other channels after MSNBC viewership fell by more than fifty percent following Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential election loss. The network formally rebranded as MSNOW in November.

In the resurfaced rant, Reid criticized the origins of the United States and questioned the motivations of the Founding Fathers.

“So that you know, this nation was founded by killers who slaughtered 90 percent of the indigenous people,” Reid said.

“Leeches who glommed off of the indigenous who taught them how to survive in the wilderness and then murdered them… and took all their land. And you talk about entitlement, they felt entitled to own other people, and they didn’t even want to pay taxes on it, so they decided to have a whole war with Britain.”

Reid suggested that the Founders possessed a strong sense of “entitlement” and implied that their grievances with King George III were less legitimate than commonly understood.

The resurfaced comments follow years of controversy surrounding Reid’s on-air remarks. During the 2024 election, Reid criticized “white women” for not supporting former Vice President Kamala Harris.

“In the end, if they didn’t make their numbers and essentially exceed the numbers that Joe Biden had in the suburbs, I think we have to be blunt about why. Black voters came through for Kamala Harris, white women voters did not,” she said on Nov. 5, 2024, during MSNBC’s election coverage.

Reid also used her Substack livestream to target President Donald Trump, claiming he “is the physical embodiment of all of America’s sins.”

Her MSNBC program regularly featured interviews with Democratic lawmakers and candidates.

She previously hosted Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who claimed on-air that Somalis implicated in Minnesota’s alleged $1 billion welfare fraud schemes were not leaving the United States.

Reid also aired comments by former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who referred to Vice President J.D. Vance as a “DEI graduate.”

Reid’s ratings struggled before her termination. On Feb. 19, 2025, she drew 922,000 viewers, compared to 973,000 for MSNBC host Chris Hayes, and far below the viewership numbers of Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow.

Hoosiers QB Gives ‘Glory to God’ After Beating Ohio State in Big Ten Championship

Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza credited the Hoosiers’ Big Ten Championship win to faith, preparation, and team unity following the program’s 13–10 victory over Ohio State on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The win marked Indiana’s 13th consecutive victory and secured the conference title.

Mendoza completed 222 passing yards and threw one touchdown during the game.

Speaking with Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft after the final whistle, he was asked what it felt like to be a Big Ten champion. “It sounds so beautiful,” Mendoza said.

He immediately added that he attributes the moment to faith.

“I want to give all the glory to God! We were never supposed to be in this position! But by the glory of God, the great coaches, great teammates, everybody we have around us, we were able to pull this off! Whoever thought the Hoosiers would be here?! But now the Hoosiers are flippin’ champs! Let’s go!”

Taft referenced the team’s internal description of themselves as “a bunch of misfits” and asked Mendoza why Indiana was the “right place” for this group.

Mendoza said the identity of the team was built on consistency and shared goals. “It’s the right place; we’re process-oriented!” he said.

“We’re going by day by day, whether it’s the offensive line, the defense, the coaches, special teams, we’re all process-oriented to one goal! That’s our thing is we’re brothers! We can drag teams into the deep end because we know we’re going to stick together, and we have the strongest glue ever!”

Mendoza then described his connection with wide receiver Charlie Becker, who played a key role during the season and in the championship matchup.

“Every single day and summer, we would always throw it before practice, at 7 a.m. on Sundays, doing spots, doing routes, and now you see it come to fruition!” Mendoza said.

“He’s my roommate! I couldn’t be happier for such a young man as well, as well as our defense playing lights out… What an incredible moment!”

Mendoza’s performance in the title game built on a strong regular season in which he threw for 2,758 yards, 32 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

He opened Saturday’s game with an early interception but recovered to lead the Hoosiers’ offense through the remainder of the contest.

With the victory, Indiana secured its place among the top programs of the season and positioned Mendoza as a leading contender for the Heisman Trophy.

NYC Socialist Mamdani Appoints Convicted Armed Robber to Public Safety Transition Team

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has selected Mysonne Linen, a convicted armed robber, rapper, and activist, to serve on his City Hall transition team as he prepares to take office in New York City on Jan. 1, according to public statements and social media posts from organizations involved in the announcement.

Mamdani, who won the November election on a progressive platform, is assembling transition committees that will advise his incoming administration.

Linen’s appointment was made public in a Nov. 26 Instagram post from Until Freedom, a New York City–based social-justice organization where Linen holds a leadership position.

The post featured Linen alongside Tamika Mallory and Angelo Pinto.

“We are proud that Until Freedom leaders have been chosen to serve on Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani’s transition team on committees for public safety and criminal justice respectively,” the post reads.

“This is a testament to our decades of work advocating on behalf of Black and Brown communities and our expertise in gun violence prevention, legislative advocacy, and criminal justice reform. We are building something different.”

Linen, 49, has maintained a public presence as an activist in recent years, frequently posting about anti-violence initiatives, community engagement, and his work with Until Freedom.

Before his advocacy work, Linen was known for his music career.

A Bronx native, he was previously signed to Def Jam and was active in New York’s rap scene during the late 1990s.

According to past reporting, Linen was convicted of two felony robberies in the late 1990s.

In 1999, a Bronx jury found him guilty in two armed robberies of taxi drivers, as reported by the New York Daily News.

Prosecutors said Linen was part of a group that robbed cab driver Joseph Exiri on June 8, 1997, during which Exiri was struck with a beer bottle.

Prosecutors also said that on March 31, 1998, cab driver Francisco Monsanto was held at gunpoint, and cash and a ring were taken before the assailants fled.

Both taxi drivers testified during the case and identified Linen as one of the individuals involved.

The Daily News reported that Linen’s defense argued he had no motive to commit the robberies because he was earning income writing songs for artists including Lil’ Kim and Mase, and that his music was slated to appear on an album featuring LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and Q-Tip.

Linen faced up to 25 years in prison and ultimately served seven years.

At the time, he maintained that he had been falsely accused, according to the reporting.

Until Freedom, where Linen now serves in a leadership capacity, describes itself as “the definitive non-profit organization for community activism, education, and rapid response to tragedies resulting from injustice.”

The organization’s website states, “We are not asking for a donation, we are asking for your investment; an investment in a movement worthy of the most marginalized people.”

The appeal is accompanied by payment options including Cash App and Venmo.

Mamdani’s decision to appoint Linen to transition committees focused on public safety and criminal justice drew criticism from some groups.

Jews Fight Back wrote on X, “Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani just appointed a convicted armed robber to help shape NYC’s crime and policing policy,” and called the selection “insane.”

Administrative State’s ‘Rear Guard’ Blocking Trump Agenda Unveiled in Lara Logan Interview

Lara Logan asked Dr. Timothy V. Shindelar to explain how internal resistance inside federal agencies can keep information from reaching top leadership.

“I asked you, how does this happen? And you said, this is what the rear guard does. Who is the rear guard? And what is the rear guard? The rear and how are they able to do this?”

Shindelar said the structure of federal departments allows entrenched networks to block oversight.

“When you run a complex organization, a large organization, if you don’t want the boss to see things, you simply take care of it just doesn’t get to their desk. It’s just, I mean, when you have an organization of, say, 15 or 20,000 people, geographically dispersed across the nation, a broom sweeps only what it touches. And if you’re not holding the broom, it’s not sweeping.”

He said loyalty among staff determines whether leadership’s directives are carried out.

“If you don’t have a loyal crew, a loyal group of people that share your vision, then they can undermine you. And that’s exactly what’s occurring.”

Shindelar said the directives of both the President and the attorney general were ignored inside the Department of Justice.

“We have to believe that the President of the United States signs out a presidential policy directive, and he specifically says we’re not going to tolerate this anymore. The attorney general signs out a memorandum that says, I’m an absolute lockstep with my boss, and we’re going to fix the corruption that exists inside the department.”

He said an assistant attorney rejected those directives.

“An assistant attorney says, I represent the United States of America, and I don’t want you to investigate corruption that specifically involves The DOJ. Not only is it completely bereft. It’s illegal.”

Logan said, “Well, these are the answers the American people want.” Shindelar replied, “Not want. They need.”

He said a whistleblower warned the acting Attorney General that Assistant US attorneys who had worked for Jack Smith needed to be investigated.

“But they didn’t investigate him. They simply just let him go without any accountability.”

Logan said, “So they let them off the hook.”

Shindelar said, “They simply let them go.”

Logan pressed him on who issued the order.

“I know, but who that doesn’t answer the question.”

Shindelar said, “Oh, that’s the that was the acting assistant. They the acting Attorney General.”

Logan asked again who directly instructed it.

Shindelar said he did not yet have the name but would provide the disclosure.

Logan asked whether this pattern reflected the rear guard. Shindelar answered, “Absolutely.”

Logan asked him to define it.

“What is the rear guard? Can you explain that?”

Shindelar said, “The rear guard is a group of people that are ideologically driven to a particular point of view, and that point of view is not shared by the current administration.”

When asked whether it was organized, he said, “Of course it’s organized.”

He identified it as the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.

Logan asked what it was.

Shindelar said, “The CIGIE.”

He said the council was designed to oversee federal programs but failed in that responsibility.

“A system that was designed to ensure the programs and operations of the federal government were effective and efficient.”

He gave an example involving Elon Musk’s review of agency operations and said inspectors general had been silent.

Logan responded, “It was their job.”

Shindelar said, “It was not only their job. They failed at their job.”

Logan asked when the council was created.

Shindelar first referenced 1978, then corrected that the CIGIE itself was created in 2008.

Logan asked, “By?” Shindelar responded, “It was done in conjunction, the legislation was done in conjunction with Senator Grassley.”

Logan asked whether this occurred under President Obama.

Shindelar said yes and confirmed it was bipartisan.

Shindelar said the CIGIE functions as “an independent entity established in the executive branch to oversight, train, educate, and provide individual counsel for all inspectors general. It answers unto itself.”

Logan questioned how such an entity inside the executive branch could be independent of the President.

Shindelar said, “Because Congress established it as an independent entity inside the executive branch.”

Logan asked how it could avoid accountability to the President.

Shindelar said it was possible if one rejected the idea that the President controls the entire executive branch.

He said this reflects the administrative state.

Logan asked, “Unelected officials?”

Shindelar said, “Yes.” She asked whether the traditional idea of government by the people applied.

Shindelar said some refer to the Department of Justice as the “Department of just us” and described a two-tiered system.

Logan said this dual system applies broadly.

Shindelar agreed.

Logan said, “And you will live by these rules, but we won’t. You will think you’re making decisions, but we’re really making them.”

Shindelar agreed and said the President believes he was elected to lead the country.

Logan said the public believes that as well.

Shindelar said the administrative state believes it answers to itself instead.

He said this dynamic is reinforced culturally.

Logan noted portrayals of presidents as irrelevant or foolish.

Shindelar said, “It’s an insult,” before Logan added that such portrayals send a message.

Shindelar said they prepare the public to believe the President is not in charge.

Logan concluded, “And half the country is wrong.”

456 Bags of Human Remains Found Steps From World Cup Venue in Mexico

Oscar Ramirez described the discovery of 456 bags of human remains near Akron Stadium in Guadalajara during an interview with Eric Bolling on Real America’s Voice.

The stadium is scheduled to host World Cup matches, and Ramirez said the findings were made by search groups operating under the AMLO administration.

He said the remains were found steps away from the venue and in various states of decomposition.

Ramirez said, “Yes, you know the only network who has been covering this, and it is on your show, Eric, we have been covering the human remains the mass graves, and just outside, steps away from Akron stadium that is in Guadalajara, galisto, it is going to be, you know, the host of one of Mexico’s World Cup matches.”

He said body search groups collected the remains and added, “Until now, 456 bags of human remains, the fiscal of the state of Guadalajara. And also authorities are trying to create this smoke screen so nobody can put attention to this factor. So FIFA will not cancel, you know, the World Cup in Mexico.”

He called the situation “an absolute disgrace” and said, “It is something that is completely inhuman, and and just steps away, Eric from the Akron Stadium was being, is going to be hosting not only just Mexico’s, you know, international match, but also other international matches, which is one of the things that is extremely critical, the missing people, the masquerades, the multiple 1000s of massacres who have been found all across the country.”

Ramirez said the information emerged only a month before the World Cup.

“So it is the thing that is, you know, it’s this horrifying story that it just came out, and it came out from the searcher groups that they have been telling the press they’re trying to hide this from the country of Mexico and from the world.”

Bolling asked whether authorities attempted to hide the discovery.

“Would they? Were they? Oscar, hiding it? I mean, we’re, strike me as a great place to hide 456, bags of human remains in a stalker saying this probably, is probably holding more than 100,000 people. You have a lot of traffic there. I think you’re going to find some of this. How do they find it?”

Ramirez said the location was isolated despite its proximity to the stadium.

“Well, there’s, there’s, you know, there’s a place where there’s nothing, you know, it’s like an empty, empty parking lot. And behind that, there’s a lot of land. And that is where specifically they’re talking about a lot of things.”

He said some locals claimed the soccer team was connected to rituals, and he also mentioned cartel control of the surrounding properties.

“Area they’re talking about that possibly the soccer team is doing some, you know, sacrifice rituals. You know, to this fact, to this matter, to this factor, also that, you know, the potentiality of the CJ and G cartel that has owned a lot of the land and has owned a lot of the businesses. Well, they’re using that land to basically dispose and the disappear, you know, bodies.”

Ramirez said the condition of the remains indicated different periods of disposal.

“And when you’re talking about 456 bags, you’re talking about that some of these bodies were found decomposed, some of them were found, you know, a skeleton. Some of them were found, you know, basically dismembered. And some of them, you know, still were found, you know, fresh.”

He said Mexican authorities were attempting to keep the discovery from international scrutiny.

“So it is something that the authorities of Mexico and also the sham bound administration is trying to not let nobody know. Ultimately, they don’t want the United States authorities to know this, because, you know, the United States is also going to be a world cup holder and a host for this current event that is coming on June.”

The Deep State is Preparing to Steal the Midterms: Lara Logan

Lara Logan told Eric Bolling that she believes political opponents are preparing a coordinated plan to damage the administration ahead of the midterms and set the conditions for an impeachment effort.

She said she does not think those opponents will wait multiple years to move, but instead are focused on the coming election cycle.

Logan stated, “No, I don’t think that. I don’t think they’re waiting three years. I think they’re waiting one year until the midterms. I think there’s a plan to steal the midterms, to either take both the house, take the house or the senate, or both, and then impeach him, and he’ll be gone, because this time, they will have both houses, and they will be able to get rid of him and and not only will they be able to get rid of him, you know why it’s going to work this time, because they’re going to use his own behavior and his his administration’s own actions, or specifically, their lack of action, as the reason that he’s going to be impeached.”

She argued that the case for impeachment would center on claims that the administration failed to prosecute criminal conduct or address citizens’ grievances.

Logan said opponents would rely on those failures rather than reviving earlier accusations used in past political fights.

She added that the constitutional right to petition government would be central to the strategy presented by those seeking removal.

Logan continued, “They’re going to take his failure this administration’s failure to prosecute and hold people accountable for their crimes and their failure to address the grievances. Remember, we have a constitutional right as American citizens for redress of grievances, and because this administration has so much evidence of all the crimes that have been committed and has not held anybody accountable, I think they’re going to use that against him.”

She said political operatives are not waiting out a full term but are instead buying time for a single year to position themselves.

Logan also claimed that earlier tactics centered on racial arguments have faded because the public has grown weary of them. She said communities across demographic groups recognize the pattern and no longer respond to it.

According to Logan, “People are sick to death of hearing about it. They also see through it. They see the hypocrisy. They know that these people don’t care about about race… those tactics don’t work anymore, because even black people, Hispanic people, Asian people, are standing up and saying, Oh, come on.”

She further argued that foreign allies are being told not to align too closely with the administration because insiders claim its leadership will not last.

Logan connected that view to past disputes involving diplomatic figures and said it reflects an attempt to assert control over government policy from within entrenched institutions.

Logan told Bolling, “What the system is doing right now is saying, you can’t survive without us, therefore you can’t prosecute us, and so don’t do it. But what they’re doing is they’re setting them up to fail.”

She said political and legal organizations, including the law firm Perkins Coie, are preparing materials aimed at administrators who do not enforce their oaths of office.

Logan described this as part of a broader plan already in motion, involving early steps to redefine administrative penalties.

She added that intelligence contacts told her preparations are underway for potential legal changes targeting officials who fail to provide remedies for citizen grievances or fail to hold people accountable.

Logan said supporters may feel betrayed if promised reforms do not materialize, creating the momentum needed for an impeachment effort.

She pointed to public claims from officials alleging serious wrongdoing by top figures from the prior administration and said the lack of consequences has fueled frustration.

Logan said, “They are guilty of treason and sedition… They haven’t held them accountable.”

Bolling responded by emphasizing the ongoing concern with inaction, stating, “Nope, that’s what we talk about every single day right here, Laura is that? Where’s the accountability? Where are the perp walks?”

Ilhan Omar Claims Somalis Are Victims of Massive Fraud in Tim Walz’s Minnesota

Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Somalis in the state were also harmed by the large-scale welfare fraud scheme that federal officials have described as the largest COVID-era fraud case in the country.

The Justice Department has charged 87 individuals in connection with the case, most of whom are of Somali descent.

Host Margaret Brennan began the interview by referencing comments made earlier in the program by the Treasury Secretary.

“I want to pick up where the Treasury Secretary just left off. He alleged that people who were tied to you or your campaign were involved in this broad, brazen scheme to rip off the Minnesota state welfare system. Do you want to respond to that? Do you know what he is referring to?” Brennan asked.

Omar said she did not.

“I really don’t, and I don’t think the secretary himself understands what he’s referring to. We obviously, had people who were able to donate to our campaign that were involved. We send that money back, a couple of years ago. And actually, I was one of the first members of Congress to send a letter to the Secretary of Agriculture asking them to look into what I thought was a reprehensible fraud that was occurring within the program.”

Brennan then outlined details of the federal case for viewers.

“So this was just for our audience. The Biden Justice Department called it the largest COVID fraud scheme in the country. And this was pocketing COVID-era welfare funds, more than $1 billion in taxpayer money that was stolen is pretty, pretty shocking. Of the 87 people charged, all but eight are of Somali descent. And that has added to the spotlight being put specifically on your community. Why do you think this fraud was allowed to get so widespread?”

Omar responded by saying the fraud harmed Minnesotans broadly, including Somali residents.

“Well, I want to say, you know, this also has an impact on Somalis, because we are also taxpayers in Minnesota. We also could have benefited from the program and the money that was stolen. And so it’s been really frustrating for people to not acknowledge the fact that we’re, you know, we’re also, as, as Minnesotans, as taxpayers, really upset and angry about the fraud that has occurred.”

Federal prosecutors have said the individuals charged diverted funds from programs intended to provide meals to children during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Court documents describe the accusations as part of a coordinated effort that authorities say resulted in the theft of more than $1 billion.

The Justice Department has continued to pursue cases tied to the scheme, with trials and plea proceedings ongoing in federal court.

Omar reiterated during the interview that her campaign returned donations connected to individuals later identified as being involved in the case.

She also referenced her prior outreach to federal officials concerning oversight of the programs in question.

JD Vance Drops the Mic on Student During Turning Point Immigration Debate

Vice President J.D. Vance outlined his view that the United States must set immigration levels based on current national needs rather than on past practices or historical sentiment.

Speaking during a public exchange, Vance said he believes the country can both respect immigrants who entered legally and contributed to the nation while still reducing future immigration levels to protect the interests of American citizens.

“Okay, so again, I’m gonna finish answering the question, and then if you know, if I’ve answered all nine of your questions in less than 15 minutes, then we can keep on going. We got to have a little fun, right?” Vance said as he opened his remarks.

He then explained that honoring prior lawful immigration does not obligate the country to accept unlimited numbers going forward.

“So here, here’s, here’s the thing. I can believe that the United States should, should lower its levels of immigration in the future, while also respecting that there are people who have come here through immigration, Pat lawful immigration pathways that have contributed to the country,” he said.

Vance argued that contributions from past immigrants cannot serve as a mandate for future admissions on a massive scale.

“But just because one person or 10 people or 100 people came in legally and contributed to the United States of America, does that mean that we’re thereby committed to let in a million or 10 million or 100 million people a year in the future? No, that’s not right,” he said.

He stressed that immigration policy must be flexible and updated to reflect present-day realities rather than bound to what may have worked decades ago.

“We cannot have I’ll go and finish. We cannot have an immigration policy where what was good for the country 50 or 60 years ago binds the country inevitably for the future,” Vance said.

Vance added that global demand to enter the United States far exceeds what the country can reasonably accept.

“There’s too many people who want to come to the United States of America,” he said.

He concluded by highlighting his constitutional responsibility: “And my job as vice president is not to look out for the interest of the whole world. It’s to look out for the people of the United States now.”
