One of the most outspoken Democrats beating the war drum over DOGE’s action to cut wasteful spending and corruption is whimpering after the Department of Justice responded to his outrageous remarks. Trump and Musk have already won civil cases against Leftists who smeared them by spreading falsehoods, however, none has been held criminally responsible for various inflammatory remarks. But this may soon change.
Previously, Democrats have alluded to the fact that America was “at war” and urged their supporters to “fight in the streets.” While seemingly inciting violence, those statements could be interpreted metaphorically as a call for political action.
However, one Democratic lawmaker seems to have crossed the line after suggesting bringing “actual weapons” to an “actual fight.”
“He’s also harming the American public in an enormous way, and I think what’s really important, and what the American public wants, is for us to bring actual weapons to this bar fight. This is an actual fight for democracy, for the future of this country, and it’s important to push back on the chairperson of this committee,” Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) said.
If a Republican made such statements, the far Left and their media buddies would be up in arms calling for blood. In January 2021, Trump was accused of inciting protesters just for asking them to remain peaceful and respect law enforcement. Democrats hold themselves to a different standard, but I digress.
Meanwhile, Rep. Garcia’s statements have not gone unnoticed after interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin wrote him a letter of inquiry requesting clarification for the contentious statements he made on the far-left network CNN.
“This sounds to some like a threat to Mr. Musk – an appointed representative of President Donald Trump who you call a “d**k” – and government staff who work for him. Their concerns have led to this inquiry.
“We take threats against public officials very seriously. I look forward to your cooperation with my letter of inquiry after request.”
The letter seems to have rattled Rep. Garcia who denied making threatening statements and denounced violence.
“Obviously, we all use metaphors and figures of speech. I think what’s really important is that we’re very clear, we have always been, violence, of course, is never the answer.”
Garcia also accused the Department of Justice of trying to silence him for criticizing Musk, asserting his right to “forcefully oppose” Trump.
“So if you criticize Elon Musk, Trump’s DOJ will send you this letter,” Garcia said. “Members of Congress must have the right to forcefully oppose the Trump Administration. I will not be silenced.”
Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett also defended Garcia, claiming they were legally fighting for democracy.
“Please explain how a guy gets his feelings hurt by a member of Congress talking about the very legal fight that we are engaged in for the rule of law,” Crockett said.
Nonetheless, Democrats have a history of making seemingly inciteful statements. In 2020, Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) threatened two conservative Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh over the June Medical Services v. Russo abortion case that challenged Roe v. Wade.
“You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!” Sen. Schumer said.
Schumer made the statements when he had political cover and faced no scrutiny. Like Garcia, the federal prosecutor also sent him a letter of inquiry after Trump was sworn in. However, his aide responded claiming that the statements referred to a political campaign and were not directed at the SCOTUS justices.
While Democrats claim the statements are metaphorical, a nutjob could take them literally and take action, potentially leading to loss of lives. Trump attributed his assassination attempts to inflammatory remarks by Democrats who compared him to Hitler and designated him a threat to democracy.
“The suspected gunman believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it. Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at.”
