The left relies on reversing the truth. Calling black white and good bad is the oldest psychological trick in the book for a reason: it works. Turning the truth around on your political enemies is straight out of the Marxist, politically radical playbook. “Accuse your enemy of what you are doing” has been attributed variously to Karl Marx and Saul Alinsky, though it’s impossible to say whether either of them actually wrote the phrase.
Regardless, it’s just another way of describing the “narcissistic reversal,” which is captured in the acronym “DARVO”
- Deny
- Attack
- Reverse
- Victim and
- Offender
DARVO is usually brought up in the context of domestic or interpersonal abuse, but what we think of as domestic abuse tactics are the very same used by radical leftists to tar their targets with the crimes that they are guilty of. The Democrats under Joe Biden practiced it daily, claiming that the greatest threat to American security came from conservative voters who they labeled “domestic extremists.” The Biden administration ginned up the specter of “Proud Boys” and “Right Wing Militias” to cover up the fact that it was the administration, the left, practicing terror tactics on conservative parents who showed up at school board meetings to protest leftist indoctrination, as just one example.
Where are these right-wing militias? Where is the death and destruction we have been told they are carrying out? Except in vanishingly rare instances, it’s not real. The actual domestic extremists are those on the left who have been taking over university campuses to “protest” for Palestine, or trying to blow up or vandalize Tesla dealerships because they hate Elon Musk and his work for the Trump administration.
But it’s not just headline grabbing public stunts. The radicals on the left are trying to terrorize conservatives on an individual basis by hitting them, literally, where they live. “Swatting” is the term used when someone falsely calls the police to report a dangerous situation like an armed gunman, or a family member posing a danger to everyone else in the home. Law enforcement then sends a SWAT team to the location, putting innocent people at risk of being mistaken for violent criminals, and at risk of being shot or killed.
This week, prolific conservative X/Twitter poster Gunther Eagleman (real name: David J Freeman) revealed that he was targeted. Eagleman wrote that someone told emergency responders there was a “hostage situation” at his house, which sent the SWAT team rolling.
Fortunately, he and his family are safe, but “swatting” has resulted in innocent people being killed before. It’s hard to think of something more hateful and dangerous than terrorizing a man and his wife and children with cops bearing loaded guns.
As you would expect, the majority of X users were relieved and supportive.
