It is known that former and future President Donald Trump loves the UFC just as much as the UFC loves Donald Trump. Trump and UFC owner and founder Dana White have publicly expressed their appreciation for one another many times. The two businessmen’s positive relationship has been shown many times at major UFC events, where Trump has often shown up to sit front row, with the crowd behind him of UFC fans showing their support, even through standing ovations. Recently, former President Trump has come up with an idea to solve America’s ongoing immigration crisis, with help from the UFC as well.
During recent campaign events at the Faith & Freedom Coalition gathering, Trump touched on the subject of the U.S.-Mexico border crisis, which has seen unprecedented levels of illegal migrants entering America for the last three and a half years. Humorously, Trump pitched the idea of starting a migrant fight club with the help of his close friend, Dana White.
Trump further stated that he expressed the idea to White of having a UFC fight club, as well as a separate club for migrants in America, with the champion leagues of both clubs fighting for a title. Trump even alluded that the migrants may have a chance at winning the championship. Trump’s comical idea was followed by a crowd of cheers and applause.
As for White’s opinion on the idea, Trump stated that the UFC owner was not keen on the proposal. White acknowledged Trump’s comments at a news conference in Saudi Arabia that same day. White responded to the comment by stating that the idea was only a joke.
