Far-left House Rep. Ilhan Omar held a rally in Minneapolis, MN, in which she rallied for the interests of the country.
Unfortunately, that country was Somalia, rather than the United States.
Rep. Omar held her entire rally in Somali with the country’s former Prime Minister even making a speech in front of hundreds of attendees. In fact, Hassan Ali Khaire even claimed that Rep. Omar’s interests “aren’t those of Minnesota or the American people, but those of Somalia.”
Later that day. Former PM Khaire met with Rep. Mohamud Noor, Rep. Hodan Hassan and Minneapolis Council Member Jamal Osman to urge voters not to vote for a black or white candidate over the incumbent.
Rep. Omar’s electorate is three-fifths white and covers a population of just over 700,000. As a member of The Squad – a group of far-left Democrats in Congress – Omar has come under criticism for her controversial statements which saw her removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee in 2023.
Her latest controversy drew blowback once again from critics, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz who described the rally as “stunning”.
Sen. Cruz saw much support for calling out Omar’s event, which did not even feature American flags despite her ongoing re-election campaign.
One commenter noted how the remarks could amount to treason.
Omar has not been confirmed as the Democrat’s candidate for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District in November’s elections, with Don Samuels also vying for the nomination. The winner will face Republican Party candidate Dalia al-Aqidi in the Democratic stronghold.
