Former president Donald Trump sat down with renowned TV psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw for another interview on Monday that aired on his Merit Street Network.
The interview (which he can viewed in full below) went on for an hour, and was Trump’s second interview with Dr. Phil this year, the prior being before he was shot.
The two began the interview by discussing the attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, PA. Trump once again praised divine intervention with regards to the last-minute head turn which saved his life.
Shortly after the assassination attempt, Kamala Harris became the Democratic Party’s de facto presidential nominee. Trump noted how attitudes had shifted towards what was once America’s least popular Vice President.
“She was known as a terrible vice president, laughed at, scoffed at. They wanted [Biden out], but they didn’t want her. They would have done anything to get anybody on the list. You know, they had a list of ten people, and they put her on the list, and she came in 11th,” Trump said.
The Republican also noted the increased pressure on President Joe Biden to step aside, and gave some behind-the-scenes details of him being forced out.
Attention then turned to the Democratic National Convention. Speakers, many of whom were unable to highlight existing problems within the country since Harris is a central part of the current administration, and instead just bashed Trump wherever possible.
Trump concluded the interview by praising Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who in the past week suspended his campaign and endorsed the former president. Trump described the ex-Democrat as a “great asset” and “a fantastic and influential person in terms of getting this country back on track.”
