The left believes many things that are not true. They believe that men can become women, they believe that children can and should have sex changes, they believe that violent black people are simply misunderstood, and they believe that having borders that define your country is evil.
It’s hard to figure out where to focus, as all of these beliefs are not only false, but they’re obviously lunatic. Used to be that people disagreed over marginal tax rates, how many schools a county needs, or whether to fund a new community pool. Now reality itself is debatable. How do you communicate with someone who thinks that mutilating children’s genitals is not only OK, but an act of “care”?
This week riots are popping off in Los Angeles as illegal aliens, legal immigrants, and American-born leftists “protest” against the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration laws. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) has been raiding neighborhoods and employers in the first stage of getting millions of illegal aliens out of the country.
Democrats hate it. California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass (a trained Marxist-Communist from way back) are claiming they don’t need the National Guard. All the “protestors” throwing bricks onto cop cars from highway overpasses and setting fire to taxi vehicles wouldn’t be doing it, they say, if mean old Donald Trump didn’t “provoke” them by enforcing the law. Newsom actually went to court to try to stop the president from sending in Troops (think about that). Thankfully, he failed.
There’s no way to test this without a survey, but it’s a good bet that nearly every Democrat and leftist believes completely false things about immigration and citizenship. Maybe Republicans, too. For example, did you know that U.S. law explicitly permits the U.S. to revoke citizenship from naturalized U.S. citizens for certain crimes? That’s right. If you come to this country and later gain citizenship, you can have it stripped if you fight against the United States.
Douglas Mackey was sent to prison for making joke posts during the 2016 election; yes, we have political prisoners in the U.S. But it’s not stopping him from pointing out reality:
Attempting to overthrow the government, or bearing arms against the government (as the LA rioters are doing assaulting the police), can get your citizenship ripped up.
X/Twitter users pointed out that even American-born citizens can be stripped of citizenship for treason.
But there are plenty of people who don’t like reality, and who don’t like any attempts to keep rioting scum out of the U.S.
And, of course, a liberal New Yorker “journalist” is on hand to deny that there’s any insurrection or treason going on in LA.
