Riley Gaines, a conservative political activist and swimmer who opposes the participation of men in women’s sports, was stunned after a trans activist agreed to merging Olympics and Para-Olympics.
Gaines and the transgender activist Blossom Brown appeared on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” where they discussed gender and identity in sports.
Brown, the “The Trans Parency” podcaster had previously suggested a gender-neutral Olympics during the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, allowing men to directly compete against women.
Gaines called the idea “absurd from top to bottom” and asked the trans activist if he also supported merging Olympics for the able-bodied athletes with the Paralympics for individuals with various physical disabilities.
“Should we combine Paralympics with the regular Olympics, [and] have them all compete with each other,” Morgan reframed her question.
Surprisingly, he agreed without giving it any thought.
“I mean, why not?” Brown said.
“You are completely insane,” Morgan responded.
“Congratulations, you excluded all women from winning medals. Well done.”
Brown also questioned Trump’s “preoccupation” with transgender issues instead of focusing on other pressing matters such as the economy.
“Because he’s up against complete lunatics like you who think it would be right to have a gender-neutral Olympics,” Morgan replied.
According to Morgan, gender-neutral Olympics was so far the “most insane” idea in history to originate from trans activists. Gaines later highlighted the hypocrisy of trans rights in sports activists who advocate for equity only when it affects transgender individuals.
“When they say ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’, they actually mean ridding disabled people of all opportunities and chances for success….that is how committed they are to their demented logic.”
Trump signed an executive order banning men in women’s sports, including international athletes by directing the Department of Homeland Security to deny visas to “men attempting to fraudulently enter the United States while identifying themselves as women athletes.”
As of October 2024, trans athletes competing in women’s sports had won 900 medals, displacing 600 biological females. However, there is hardly any record of transgender athletes winning any medals in men’s sports, suggesting that men who transitioned into women still maintain a competitive advantage in sports over biological women.
Cece Telfer, the NCAA title holder of women’s 400m hurdles who Gaines describes as a “Man who has a hobby of trampling on women” defended his medal after the Department of Education suggested stripping trans winners. According to Telfer, “You can’t take back history” and “that’s not how the direction of progressiveness works.”
Meanwhile, Maine Governor Janet Mills has threatened to defy Trump’s orders and allow biological males to continue competing against women in sports.
“They are still saying they want men to play in women’s sports and I cannot believe that they are doing that,” Trump said on Thursday at the Republican Governors Association meeting in Washington, D.C.
He threatened to cut federal funding until the defiant states complied with his executive order on fairness in sports. However, Gov. Mills remains defiant saying, “The State of Maine will not be intimidated by the president’s threats.”
