This Week in Woke, Vol. 2

I’m Josh Slocum for Wokespy and Welcome to the week in Woke. We’ve got three for you this week-let’s go. 

1. 

When a would-be assassin nearly killed President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania Saturday, July 13, his survival looked like a miracle – because it was. You’ve probably already seen this incredible photograph that caught the bullet that nearly killed the 45th president, in mid-air, just a microsecond before it clipped his ear. 

At just the exact right moment, Trump turned his head away from the crowd in front, allowing the bullet to graze his ear.

Serious questions are being asked across the political spectrum. How did the shooter manage to get onto an empty rooftop with a clear line of sight? How did the Secret Service not notice him?

But what caused Trump to turn his head? It was this chart:

The chart says it all. When Trump cracked down on the problem during his administration starting in late 2019, the number of border jumpers dropped precipitously. And then Biden took office, and the bars on the chart reached up like Manhattan skyscrapers. 

The Twitter/X user who posted the chart injected a bit of much-needed humor into what has been an awful weekend for Americans.

Especially in times of woe, laughter is often the best (or only) medicine. But there’s always that one party pooper. 

2. 

The Netflixification of reality continues.

A new documentary set to be released later this year claims Abraham Lincoln was a gay man who had “steamy gay sex sessions” with male partners.

Lover of Men, which has a scheduled release date of Friday, September 6, claims to “examine the intimate life of America’s most consequential president” by lying about him.

A two-minute trailer details the background to the film with interviewees from different sides of the political spectrum praising the Civil War president.

Later, it discusses Lincoln’s relationship with Joshua Speed – a lifelong close friend whom the then-president repeatedly offered roles to during his four-year tenure. In addition, the trailer highlights Lincoln’s relationship with Captain David Derickson of the 150th Pennsylvania Infantry, with the two allegedly sharing a bed during the Civil War.

Concluding, the trailer notes Lincoln’s “insistence on equality” and explores hypothetical opinions on the rights of gay people in the 21st century.

According to the film’s synopsis, “Lover of Men widens its lens into the history of human sexual fluidity and focuses on the profound differences between sexual mores of the nineteenth century and those we hold today. The film fills in an important missing piece of American history and challenges the audience to consider why we hold such a limited view of human sexuality.”

When the film’s trailer was shared on social media, many questioned why the documentary makers sought to make “everything gay”.

Others took a more lighthearted view of the documentary.

Duke University says that if you show up on time, take care with details, and believe in individual initiative, you’re a racist. Bet you didn’t know that.

As part of its “Critical Race Theory” series, the medical school aims to “catalyze anti-racist practice through education” and create an “anti-racist workforce.”

The document, which has been approved by the school claimed traditional expectations such as arriving for work on time and well-dressed were aspects of “white supremacy culture.”

“White supremacy culture is the idea (ideology) that White people and the ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and actions of white people are superior to People of Color and their ideas, thoughts, beliefs and actions,” according to the report.

After claiming that the United States is rigged in favor of people “solely because they are White,” the document continued to say that “white supremacy culture” is “power hoarding” at the expense of minorities.

You’ve gotta hear this quote, and you’ve gotta hear it my patented vocal technique, MommyTone. 

“In the workplace, white supremacy culture explicitly and implicitly privileges whiteness and discriminates against non-Western and non-white professionalism standards related to dress code, speech, work style, and timeliness,” “Some identifiable characteristics of this culture includes perfectionism, belief that there’s only one right way, power hoarding, individualism, sense of urgency and defensiveness.”

Let’s see what Twitter/X has to say. 

Others questioned how the practice would work should a patient arrive on time for surgery.

“My Son Is Dead” – Elon Musk Vows To “Destroy” Wokeism In Heartbreaking Interview

Business magnate Elon Musk claims he was “tricked” into signing documents to allow his son Xavier to “change” his gender from male to female.

Xavier Musk, who changed name and gender in 2022, disowned his father in a response on Threads – the Mark Zuckerberg-owned rival platform to Musk’s X.

In a recent interview with Jordan Peterson, the world’s richest man pledged to “destroy the woke mind virus” after professionals claimed his son would commit suicide if he did not permit Xavier to switch gender.

“It happened to one of my older boys, Xavier. I was essentially tricked into signing documents for puberty blockers without understanding the full implications,” Musk said. “COVID was happening, adding to the confusion, and I was told that Xavier might commit suicide if he didn’t get the treatment.”

“That was a lie from the outset” Peterson interjected of the “suicide” claims, pointing out that underlying mental health reasons are responsible for the high transgender suicide rate, not a lack of “social acceptance” or so-called “gender affirming care.”

“I lost my son, essentially. The term “deadnaming”‘” exists for a reason… because your son is dead. My son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke mind virus,” Musk said.

Some on social media offered their condolences to Musk.

Others pledged to help Musk defeat wokeism.

Bud Light Slips To Third In U.S. Sales As Boycott Continues

The Bud Light backlash is a true example of conservatives fighting back against woke.

For those few who are unaware, a nationwide boycott began when Anheuser-Busch – the owner of Bud Light – recruited transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney to push the beer on social media.

Disgruntled conservatives pushed back against the campaign, resulting in major financial losses for Bud Light. In fact, the backlash was so effective that Bud Light – which had been America’s top selling beer for two decades – fell behind Mexican beverage Modelo in the nationwide share of sales.

Although Bud Light hastily retracted its Mulvaney-led campaign, enraged consumers have not looked back, and new data suggests that’s a trend which is unlikely to change anytime soon.

In the four-week period leading up to the Independence Day weekend, sales of Bud Light continued to plummet. The brand secured 6.5% of all beer sales at retail stores, but this was three points below Modelo Especial (9.7%). Michelob Ultra – which is also owned by Anheuser-Busch – secured 7.3% of all retail sales.

It’s safe to say that nobody is forgetting what Bud Light did anytime soon, with most vowing never to return to drinking the product.

One user said they’d participated in a wider boycott of Anheuser-Busch.

Others issued a poignant reminder: go woke, go broke.

RFK Jr. Warned Democrats Against Rigging Elections, But They Just Wouldn’t Listen

In one of the most contentious months in modern American political history, the other shoe finally dropped for Democrats as President Joe Biden, racked with COVID and besieged by his own party, finally threw in the towel and withdrew his candidacy for re-election as President. 

While many have been caught up in the Democratic whirlwind since Biden’s atrocious debate performance which exposed Biden’s apparent cognitive decline, many astute political observers had been sounding the alarm that Biden may not make it to November, let alone another four years in office. 

Among those who can credibly say “I told you so” to the Democratic machine is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the Democrat-turned-independent candidate for President who had the temerity to primary Biden at a time when the DNC was more interested in a coronation rather than a competition. 

In an interview with Fox News, RFK Jr. recalls how, over a year ago, he was telling anyone who would listen how the DNC was rigging its own primary process: “[The DNC] changed sixty different rules to make it impossible for anyone to challenge Joe Biden. One of the things… that they did to me is – I’d been campaigning in New Hampshire, so they adopted a rule that said that any Democratic candidate who campaigns in New Hampshire – who steps foot into the state of New Hampshire… all of their delegates would go to the President. And, they shut down the Florida primary they shut down a bunch of primaries [and] just said “we’re not running them, we already have our candidate.”

Rigging primaries is nothing new for the DNC. Many will recall the DNC’s insidious use of “super-delegates,” a group of convention delegates who are seated automatically who, prior to 2018, were free to support any presidential candidate in all ballot rounds. These “super-delegates” spelled the downfall of Sen. Bernie Sanders’s presidential bid in 2016 who, despite performing well at the polls, could not overcome the hundreds of super-delegates who pledged their support to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton before a single vote had been cast.  

“In other words, the establishment determined who the anointed candidate will be before the first voters got into the process,” Sanders told a clearly frustrated crowd back in May of 2016. 

Today, the means may have changed, but the motive remains the same. 

True to form, the DNC is now contemplating convention rules that would help drag Vice President Kamala Harris, the new establishment consensus pick to be the party’s standard bearer, across the finish line. While most of the party, including the Clintons and several prominent elected officials, line up behind Harris (who inherits the Biden-Harris coffers – and the $90 million within them – and the Biden-Harris national campaign apparatus) several key Democrats have yet to signal their support, including the Obama family, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Perhaps their hesitancy stems from Harris’s atrocious presidential campaign in 2020, where she failed to earn a single delegate. 

While all that is out in the ether remains speculative, what we do know is that RFK, Jr. is, once again, warning everyone of the DNC’s second attempt to rig the 2024 election. “The indication now… is that the party elites won’t let go of the process,” RFK, Jr. said.  

He would know. RFK, Jr. readily recalls the 1968 DNC convention in Chicago, where the incumbent Democrat refused the nomination, where an assassin tragically changed the trajectory of the race by killing his father, and where Democrats had no nominee. What resulted was a rancorous, riotous affair that left a very negative impression on the American public. 

History may not repeat itself, but it certainly rhymes, as Democrats face similar prospects heading back to a Chicago convention in a few weeks time with an incumbent dropping out, with an attempted assassination changing the race’s tenor and trajectory, and with no nominee. 

How ironic it is that the party who calls former President Donald Trump a threat to democracy rarely practices what it preaches. For years now, the DNC has ignored the will of the people and disenfranchised its own voters because, for the DNC, there is no truth but power. Democracy is too messy of a process to leave up to chance for the DNC; they must gain and maintain power regardless of the tortuous and hypocritical rhetorical contortions necessary to obtain it. 

As things stand now, the DNC, having made one strategic mistake in clearing the primary field for a “Weekend at Bernie’s” candidate in Joe Biden, seem ready to do the same for Harris at the DNC convention in Chicago, who not only did not campaign to earn his spot, but who has never earned a single delegate in her national political career

Once again, RFK Jr. is the canary in the Democratic coal mine signaling to everyone how disastrous their un-democratic choices may be. Ignore him at your own peril.

Merriam Webster Gets Offended by Definition of Woman

Most of us remember our parents telling us to take down the Merriam-Webster dictionary from the shelf when we wanted to know what a word meant. That sturdy hardback was the authoritative source on word usage. 

The Merriam-Webster company wants to maintain that status in the digital age, but it’s eaten its own seed corn. Just like Anheuser Busch lost billions in market value when Bud Light teamed up with drag queen (oh, we’re sorry, “trans woman”) Dylan Mulvaney, a nellie gay man pretending to be a girl, Merriam-Webster has torched the very thing that made it credible: truth. 

They’re still branding themselves as authoritative:

Let’s see how they define “female”:

Got it. Being female is only usually about being the female sex (do you see the circular definition problem?). Also, it can just mean having a “gender identity” that’s “opposite” to male. Translation: “Females are males who say they’re girls.”

Right. With that sorted, let’s see what Merriam Webster has been up to on social media lately. 

On Twitter/X, the dictionary asked a question inside its wheelhouse:

OK. But then something strange happened. 

That means MW locked down the post so that no one could reply to the question it was asking. 

Then something even stranger happened.

Gee-what gives? 

That’s right. This is the world you live in in year 2024. The “authoritative” dictionary shut down all discussion and retracted its question when sane, normal people told it that the word “woman” means what it means.

Why? If you’re not familiar with the full extent of the woke left derangement, this is now new normal. Companies of all kinds have been infiltrated by mostly young female leftists who see themselves first as activists. They will destroy companies, destroy reputations, and destroy the meaning of words simply to signal to the leftist world how very good and kind and inclusive they are. 

And much mirth was had on this Twitter thread!

This one probably triggered whatever intern named KaiteLynne staffs the MW Twitter account. 

Looks like Merriam Webster got BIG MAD at some users.

Democrats Defend Drag Queen Appointment In Pennsylvania

Joe Biden’s decision not to stand for re-election is unlikely to cause major political turmoil within the Democratic Party.

While arguably abandoning the principle within the name of the party, the DNC is likely to name Vice President Kamala Harris as the challenger to Republican nominee Donald Trump.

From a position of political strategy, Harris’ appointment makes the most sense. She is, after all, the next in line should Biden be unable to fulfil his presidential duties until January 20, 2025. Biden-Harris, as the campaign ticket suggested, is also a close-knit operation. As a result, staffers for Biden-Harris are likely to remain in post for Harris-Whomever, particularly those with experience in the swing states.

Such officials include Eric Lipka, who has been unmasked as “Erotica the Drag Queen” – who was appointed deputy press secretary for Biden-Harris in Pennsylvania.

Lipka’s accounts were quickly locked down when conservative media approached him for comment. Nevertheless, a snippet of Lipka/Erotica’s posts were revealed on the popular @LibsOfTikTok account on X.

In one Facebook post from January 2023, Lipka encouraged Facebook followers to “come get drunk and watch me slam my vagina into the floor”, while also describing a “pussy-power fantasy” in another.

The Democrats have defended Lipka’s appointment with Pennsylvania communications director Jack Doyle telling Fox News that they were “proud” to have the drag queen onboard. “We’re proud to have a team of 200 talented Pennsylvania staffers, including Eric, highlighting Trump’s record killing 275,000 jobs across the commonwealth and his discriminatory and extreme Project 2025 agenda to make life worse for our families,” Doyle said.

Surprise was hardly rife on social media.

Others questioned the decision making within a Democratic Party which is no stranger to being forced to defend the controversial appointment of a communications staffer.

Conservatives Score Another Victory as John Deere Announces Changes To DEI Policies

Tractor manufacturer John Deere has announced it will halt its sponsorship of Pride events while scrapping a portion of its so-called diversity, equity and inclusive policies following backlash from conservatives.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 16, John Deere announced that it would commit to a number of pledges “based on ongoing conversations.”

“We will no longer participate in or support external social or cultural awareness parades, festivals, or events,” announced the company on social media.

In addition, the company pledged to focus Business Resource Groups on “professional development, networking, mentoring and supporting talent recruitment efforts”, while training materials will be audited to ensure they are devoid of “socially motivated messages”. Finally, John Deere reaffirmed “within the business that the existence of diversity quotas and pronoun identification have never been and are not company policy”.

The statement came amid a conservative campaign led by Robby Starbuck, whose recent exposé on the DEI policies of Tractor Supply forced the company into removing its diversity agenda.

Starbuck claimed the John Deere announcement as a “huge win in our war on wokeness” but expressed doubt over the statement’s “fundamental” belief that “a diverse workforce enables us to best meet our customers’ needs”.

Responding directly to John Deere’s announcement, Starbuck and many others questioned whether the change in policy could have gone further.

Other users demanded the company maintains its U.S.-based manufacturing plants over relocation to Mexico.

Progressives Complain Anti-Sex Trafficking Bill “Disproportionately Impacts” LGBTQ And People Of Color

Woke activists have opposed a California sex trafficking bill over supposed concerns that it will disproportionately harm “marginalized communities”.

Specifically, activists have criticized the impact on “members of the LGBTQ community who already suffer from systematic biases” within the justice system as well as people of color.

SB1414 is a bill which would make it a felony offense for any adult to pay for sex with an adolescent. The bill has already been watered down by Democrats so that adults who are accused of soliciting with a 16-17-year-old can only be charged with a felony if the victim has been subject to child sex trafficking.

“I believe that adults who attempt to, or actually buy children for sex in the state of California, should go to prison on a felony charge,” Republican state Sen. Shannon Grove told lawmakers when introducing the bill.

Astonishingly, the bill has been slammed by liberal critics, with one speaker before the California State Assembly from the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, claimed the harsher penalties would “disproportionately impact marginalized communities, particularly Black and brown individuals.” She also admitted that LGBTQ people are convicted of sex offenses at higher rates than heterosexuals, though she seemed to be implying the disparity is due to homophobia, and didn’t seem to realize what she had admitted.

Kellie Walters of Legal Services for Prisoners with Children also raised concerns over the effect on LGBTQ individuals who “already suffer from systematic biases within the criminal justice system, particularly when it comes to sexually based offenses.”

Many commenters on social media expressed their shock to the opposition.

Others were critical of efforts by the Democratic Party to water down the bill, with one user alleged that it was atypical of the party.

Liberal Outraged At American Flag Flown On Beach Ahead of July 4

The Star Spangled Banner is a symbol of freedom, liberty, and patriotism for Americans.

Well… most Americans that is.

On Independence Day, a clip of an outraged liberal went viral after he saw our country’s flag at the beach:

“I’m here enjoying a nice day at the beach with my kids,” said the man in the 30-second clip, “and I turn around and they’ve got these flags planted here on the beach”.

As he pointed at the nation’s flag, he referred to those who planted it as “MAGA [Make America Great Again] f****.”

“This is all [across] America. We know you didn’t storm the beaches to stake out your territory on the beach – this isn’t the f****** moon. I get it; this is America. But I’m sick of my flag being represented by white nationalist trash on a goddamn beach,” he added.

Why exactly the disgruntled man opted to make such a bizarre point out of the flags is a mystery. Flying the flag of the United States *shouldn’t* indicate support for a certain party or political ideology but is an expression of patriotism. Of course, there is some truth behind his assumption that Trump supporters were those flying them, because we live in times where you can guess who someone voted for with a high degree of certainty simply based off the fact that they proudly fly the American flag – and they’ll always lean right. Of course, that’s not because of anything the right has done, but rather everything the left has done to distance themselves from the flag and what it symbolizes.

Many on social media were critical of the man in the clip, with one highlighting his perceived ownership of the nation’s flag.

Others noted that if he didn’t like seeing American flags in America, he would be more than entitled to move elsewhere.

One user highlighted how the content creator decided to make a viral point about his grievances, rather than confront those who upset him.
