Donald Trump plans to create a government efficiency commission headed by Elon Musk he says will “eliminate fraud and improper payments” within six months of its formation if he wins the election on November 5.
Speaking at the New York Economic Club, Trump pledged to “create a government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms” following a suggestion by the X and Tesla owner.
“Fraud and improper payments alone cost taxpayers an estimated hundreds of billions of dollars,” Trump added. “As the first order of business, this commission will develop an action plan to totally eliminate fraud and improper payments within six months.”
Although the idea has been rumored for weeks, this announcement marks the first time Trump has publicly expressed support for the idea.
Reacting to the news, Musk, who endorsed the former president immediately after the assassination attempt in Butler, said, “I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises. No pay, no title, no recognition is needed.”
Both Musk and Trump’s popularity on X paved the way for widespread support on the social media platform.
Others offered predictions for Musk within Trump’s administration.
Malik Obama, the half-brother of former president Barack, has announced his support for Donald Trump.
The Kenyan national announced his support for the Republican nominee via X on Wednesday, September 4.
Malik has long been a supporter of Trump having endorsed him the previous two presidential elections. On Wednesday, he simply posted, “I am Malik Obama. I’m a registered Republican and I’m voting for President Donald Trump.”
Malik joins a growing number of Democratic families endorsing the former president. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly endorsed Trump at the end of August, while numerous family members of vice presidential candidate Tim Walz also expressed support for Trump.
Malik first announced Trump back in 2016 when he was still on the campaign trail, citing his disappointment in his half-brother.
Conservatives on social media held praise for Malik Obama.
Another user drew similarities to the aforementioned Walz family support for Trump.
Minnesota Gov. and Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz attended the Minnesota State Fair for the first time since being thrust into the national spotlight as Kamala Harris’ running mate.
The visit was a markedly different trip for Walz, with his campaign schedule and enhanced security protection limiting his usual freedom to enjoy the annual fair.
“I don’t get 12 days, which I normally get, and a little more of a disruption…. more disruption to the other folks, but it’s exciting. We’re getting to talk about Minnesota across the country,” Walz told reporters at the fair.
And he answered plenty of questions from reporters – none of which were actual questions. Instead, he got the usual softball questions that activist reporters lob at Democrats.
Except for one.
It was his response, or lack thereof, to a question about Hamas that ended up making headlines. Just hours before Walz’s visit to the fair, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that six hostages had been killed in Rafah after 11 months of Hamas captivity.
Despite being the running mate of the Democratic nominee and current vice president, Walz offered no response to reporters when asked for his reaction to the killings in Gaza, and instead immediately fled as if the question itself was an enemy combatant.
Social media users were quick to note his hasty retreat from the challenging questions.
Former Hawaii Congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has become the second ex-Democrat to endorse Donald Trump in as many weeks.
The former Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee endorsed the Republican nominee at a National Guard conference in Detroit, MI. Her decision comes just days after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign to also back the former president.
Kennedy noted on Sunday that there will be more Democratic endorsements of Trump to come, noting that “Trump is going to make a series of announcements about other Democrats who are joining his campaign.” Elon Musk, who had historically supported Democrats had first endorsed Trump following the assassination attempt on the former president last month.
Gabbard, a National Guard veteran herself, acknowledged the “grave responsibility that a president and commander in chief bears for every single one of our lives” on Monday, August 26. She slammed the Democratic White House for bringing the United States into a situation where it is “facing multiple wars on multiple fronts in regions around the world and closer to the brink of nuclear war than we ever have been before.”
Gabbard’s endorsement of Trump is perhaps not unexpected. She was previously one the Democratic Party’s most conservative lawmakers, and refused to vote in favor of impeaching the then-president in 2019.
Despite running for the Democratic ticket in 2020, Gabbard left the party two years later amid concerns over wokeness within Democratic ranks. She has since identified as independent.
Her decision marks yet another blow for a Democratic Party whose critics argue has become too far left. While ex-Democrats line up to support the former president, the same can’t be said for Kamala Harris who has done little to attract anti-Trump conservatives.
Gabbard’s support also signals a show of unity behind Trump.
As the presidential election looms ever closer, attention is turning to an issue which affects tens of millions of Americans: affordable housing.
The inflation of housing prices has not been matched by an equivalent rise in median household incomes. The price-to-income ratio, which once hovered around 4:1 across the nation, has skewed in recent years with houses becoming ever more unaffordable for millions across the country.
Keen to earn the votes which will secure them a four-year term in the White House, presidential candidates are drawing up affordable housing plans to ensure more Americans can get onto the property ladder.
X user Omega Rio, known by his handle @GibsonAubr11146, shared a comparison between Democrat nominee Kamala Harris and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for a $425,000 mortgage.
The Vice President is offering a payment plan where first-time homeowners received a $25,000 down payment from the federal government. Accumulating 6.5% interest, the monthly repayment will equate to $2,686 per month, with a total loan cost of just below $1million over a 30-year period.
By contrast, Kennedy’s payment plan does not feature a down payment. Instead, new homeowners will receive a government-backed loan at a 3% interest rate. This results in a monthly payment of $1,791 – just under $1,000 less per month than Harris’ plan – coming to a total of $645,053 across three decades.
“Kennedy’s plan not only is the better option for the cost of the mortgage, but it also doesn’t cost the taxpayers a dime. In contrast, Harris plans to use tax funds to pay for other people’s down payment,” Rio said.
One social media user drew a comparison with student loans.
The Democratic National Convention has offered a first glimpse into Kamala Harris’ platform she will implement if elected President of the United States on November 5.
One particular pledge caught the eye of conservative commentators on X, and is a damning indictment of a Vice President who served as Border Czar amid an unprecedented influx of illegal immigrants into the nation.
Director of the Center for Homeland Security & Immigration at the America First Policy Institute, Rob Law, shared details of what he called the “most radical amnesty bill ever written” under Harris’ proposed U.S. Citizenship Act.
Kamala Harris’ DNC platform pledges to pass the U.S. Citizenship Act. What is it? The most radical amnesty bill ever written. Amnesty for human traffickers & gang members, no welfare restrictions for migrants, lets deportees return, & worse.
The Act pledges to only remove noncitizens if they have been convicted of a felony, or at least three misdemeanor offenses. Alas, those who have used taxpayer funded welfare, or voted unlawfully in a U.S. election, will still be offered amnesty.

Furthermore, illegal aliens who have been convicted of an offense beyond a ten-year period prior to their citizenship application will also enjoy an ineligibility waiver.
Waivers to amnesty convicted illegal alien criminals, vile human traffickers, & other public safety threats. Waivers for nearly all grounds of inadmissibility. pic.twitter.com/3jvfUnCeao
Social Security numbers will also be provided to each “lawful perspective immigrant,” meaning even those who do not ultimately acquire citizenship will still possess a Social Security number prior to a decision on their status.
If that’s not bad enough, it immediately issues SSN to all illegal aliens. There will be no vetting & this gets them drivers licenses & voter registration. pic.twitter.com/JBIT5Vy26S
Last, but by no means least, the bill proposes returning those who were deported under the Trump administration for “humanitarian purposes, to ensure family unity, or if such a waiver is otherwise in the public interest.”
And the bill even requires taxpayers to pay for PREVIOUSLY DEPORTED illegal aliens to be brought back to get amnesty.

She of the corkscrew curls—or ramen noodle wig if you prefer—is having such a hard time holding together the White House’s public image that she is now reduced to “answering” reporters’ questions about Kamala Harris’ accomplishments by giving the vice president co-credit for policies enacted by President Joe Biden. Think of it as Karine Jean-Pierre grading Harris on a curve for a group class project.
First, we have to set the scene by describing the media silliness that provoked the topic. Readers, stay with me; this is as dumb as it seems. We all know that Joe Biden is president, and that Kamala Harris is vice president. They are, literally and uncontroversially, a team that both work in the White House. Therefore, it is fair to think of the two of them as being connected, is it not?
The geniuses over at Politico don’t think so:
You read that right. It’s the supercharged version of the media’s reflexive reaction any time a conservative objects to an over the top or dangerous leftist policy: “Republicans pounce!” We are to believe that Donald Trump, the worst Bad Orange Man ever, is acting like a lunatic by “trying to draw a connection” between. . .the president and the vice president.
We really are through the looking glass. Up is down, black is white, and there is no such thing as objective reality.
As usual, Twitter/X users had something to say about that, starting with the estimable LibsofTikTok:
Then we get some quality snark:
How does White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre come into this?
We’re not sure if Politico knows this, but it looks like even she has fallen under The Donald’s spell. “Answering” a question from a reporter about what specific policy accomplishments Harris can claim credit for, an annoyed Jean-Pierre recently “admitted” the blatantly obvious; that Harris and Biden are connected because they work together. “Bidenomics has been something that both the President and the Vice President has worked on” she told Peter Doocy, who asked about whether Harris was trying to distance herself from Biden.
Considering what she has to defend, one almost feels sorry for Jean-Pierre, but then one remembers she willingly signed up to take a paycheck to protect a dishonest and senile president from accountability to the citizens he allegedly serves.
Plenty of past White House spokeswomen (hello, Jen Psaki) have made it clear they believe they’re above answering questions from the unwashed masses, but Jean-Pierre has made it into an art form. She telegraphs annoyance at “impertinent” and “inappropriate” questions from the press (huh?), but when it comes to trying to answer a substantive question, she falls apart. When pressed about the recent news that presidential son Hunter Biden leaned on the State Department for insider help winning a business contract, Jean-Pierre literally stuttered her way through the answer.
Plenty of Twitter/X users are having deserved fun at her expense. User Andrew Dice Hardy cadged the spokeswoman’s own malapropism and shot it back:
We’re with mummabear in spirit, but we’re afraid you can “just make up words”—if you’re a Democrat.
No social media thread would be complete without at least one clinical teaching example of the symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome:
Former and future President Donald Trump thanked God for the intervention which saved his life during the assassination attempt in Butler, PA, on July 13.
The infamous events saw shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks narrowly miss the Republican’s head in the shooting from around 130 yards away. Quite remarkably, Trump turned his head at the right moment as he looked towards a television screen, causing the bullet to clip his right ear.
Trump has previously praised divine intervention for the head swivel which ultimately saved his life – something which arose again during his Bedminster press conference on Thursday.
“Have you put much thought into why God save your life? As in, for what purpose has he been shielding and protecting you,” Trump was asked by a reporter.
Describing his near-miss as “a miracle”, Trump referred to the graph regarding the number of illegal immigrants under President Joe Biden’s administration, adding that it was one he uses “less than 20% of the time at the end of the speech.”
“I just talked about it, and I moved to my right, turned sharply to my right, ping!” Trump explained. “And if I didn’t do that, I [wouldn’t be] here with you.
“It’s a miracle, and God has something to do with it. And maybe it’s [because] we want to save the world. This world is going down. This world is going down,” the former president reiterated to cheers from the crowd.”
Trump added that his sons Eric and Don Jr. compared the shooter to missing a “one-foot putt” in golf.
The response resonated strongly with Christian supporters of the Republican nominee.
Others praised Trump’s handling of the press conference.
Voters have left the Democratic Party en masse over President Joe Biden’s tenure, according to new data shared on X.
Overall, Republicans saw a net gain of nearly 400,000 registered voters since November 2020, while Democrats have hemorrhaged nearly 3 million. Democrats suffered net losses in every state except California ( where they gained a net 71,058) – a state which only Democrats could think is heading in the right direction.
The Democrats have seen major losses in Florida (-979,487) and New York (-410,386), as well as the swing state of Pennsylvania (-329,289). Pennsylvania, which holds 19 Electoral College votes, has also witnessed losses for the GOP albeit on a much smaller scale (-1,466).
Republicans have seen gains in California (+148,823), Florida (+151,456), and New Jersey (+152,918), though the margins aren’t enough to flip California or New Jersey by a long shot. Both the GOP and the Democrats have lost around 130,000 registered voters in Colorado, while New York (-49,674) and Massachusetts (-61,042) have been particularly unfriendly to Republicans – though that’s hardly a surprise.
The swing states also tell an interesting tale. The Democrats have lost around 260,000 registered voters in Arizona and Nevada, but these have not necessarily translated into a pro-Republican electorate with the GOP losing just over 75,000 registered voters in these two crucial states. Still, the result is a net positive for Republicans.
Michael Pruser, who shared the figures, addressed important questions from users on X.
Indeed, if the majority of voters are dissatisfied with their choices, then we could be in for an interesting election.
The total cost of illegal immigration under President Joe Biden’s administration would be equivalent to the gross domestic product of the 36th largest economy in the world, according to a report from late last year that’s now getting attention on social media.
Illegal immigration under President Joe Biden’s administration has cost the country an estimated $451 billion per year, according to a report released by House Republicans in November 2023.
The 50-page report, which was the fourth interim report on Department for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ handling of the border crisis, highlights that over 3.8 million illegal immigrants have entered the country since Biden took office in January 2021.
Taxpayer dollars have accounted for costs incurred for healthcare, education, housing, and enforcement to accommodate the up to 130+ million illegal aliens currently in the country.
“Every day, millions of American taxpayer dollars are spent on costs directly associated with illegal immigration and the unprecedented crisis at the Southwest border sparked by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ policies,” the House Homeland Security Committee interim report states. “Only a small fraction is ever recouped from the taxes paid by illegal aliens, with the rest falling on the shoulders of American citizens and lawful residents.”
The report’s relevance remains with the current political landscape. Vice President Kamala Harris is the Democratic Party’s nominee for the upcoming presidential election, although she has remained quiet on her disastrous record as Border Czar, which some in the media have tried to hide.
Many on social media were in disbelief at the figure.
Others considered the implications for the election.
One user even mapped the scale of the crisis.
