MSNBC Host Praises Trump Despite Declining Interview Post-MSG Rally

MSNBC broadcaster Stephanie Ruhle praised the ease of access to Donald Trump during the election campaign despite the President-elect effectively telling her to pound sand when trying to arrange an interview.

Ruhle contacted the Republican in the wake of his epic Madison Square Garden rally just days before November’s election. During Lukas Thimm’s live variety stage show “So Many Issues,” Ruhle called Trump to discuss the fallout after Tony Hinchliffe’s “floating island of garbage” joke about Puerto Rico.

She said:

I wasn’t calling to chit-chat. I said, ‘Mr. President, this is Stephanie Ruhle, you made a lot of comments last night,’ blah-blah-blah. It was not an on-the-record conversation, so I’m not going to get into what he said. But I called for one reason. I said, ‘You just said a whole bunch of public things. I’d like to sit down for an interview with you. We’ve got five days before the election.’ So we didn’t get anything, there’s nothing for me to report. I called, I said I want an interview. Obviously, he said no.

Ruhle noted the differences between Trump and then-presidential rival Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden, suggesting “there’s 50 people” in the way of a potential interview.

“And I called DJT to say, ‘Yo, can I get an interview?’ And he told me to go f*** myself, but I still was able to connect with him,” she jokingly concluded.

Throughout the campaign, Harris largely avoided the media until a last-minute media spree as election day drew closer. The owner of Time magazine slammed the Democrat for ignoring interview requests back in October, while podcaster Joe Rogan – who interviewed and later endorsed Trump – detailed the strict conditions for any interview he conducted with the Vice President.

Social media commentors noted the differences between the two candidates.

Others noted how Ruhle received a response from Trump, even if it was not one she was looking for.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Pretends Not to Get Trump Annexation Joke

One can tell a lot about a person, or a culture, by observing how that person or culture relates to humor. Do they have a sense of humor? Do they like to cut up? Can they roll with banter and friendly mockery, taking it and dishing it out? Or, do they scowl and take offense at words that everyone else finds amusing?

Who knows if there’s any research behind the idea, but it seems pretty clear to a lot of people that authoritarian and totalitarian ways of thinking don’t make room for humor. Authoritarian personalities hate being mocked, and totalitarian regimes take deep—and often violent—offense at humor’s close cousin, satire, as author Salman Rushdie has learned painfully and repeatedly.

Since the election of Donald Trump this time around, it’s been quite clear that the left has zero sense of humor. Or more nearly, they have no sense of humor about themselves even as they allow their side to indulge in “humor” that’s not-even-thinly disguised wishes of violence on anyone to the right of center. One suspects that part of what makes the left so angry is the fact that, like him or not, Donald Trump is naturally charismatic and funny, and he does it on his toes.

MSNBC’s wig mistress in chief Joy Reid is having none of it, thank you very much. You can tell just by the look on her face.

What turned Reid’s smile upside down recently was a quip from Trump to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The light-loafered “former” drama teacher made a trip to Trump’s Florida home Mar-a-Lago recently in an apparent attempt to dissuade the president-elect from enacting a 25 percent tariff on imported Canadian goods. According to Joy Reid, Trump “threatened” Trudeau and Canada.

With what? An off-the-cuff (and funny) retort that if Canada didn’t like the tariff, maybe they should just become the 51st U.S. state. While the exchange was not recorded, and the joke was relayed to Fox second-hand by unnamed sources, Trump probably did jokingly “threaten” to annex Canada – and we can all picture him doing just that.

Yet, Joyless Reid can’t see the humor in it.

Come on. Is Joy Reid truly that literal-minded, or is it all a pretense? It’s hard to say, but easy to see that the vast majority of sane adults would recognize Trump’s remark as verbal play (key word: sane). The idea of the United States forcibly invading Canada is even more laughable than the liberal media’s apparent belief that Trump meant to threaten a ground war on our northern cousins.

Fortunately X/Twitter users have a healthier funny bone than our MSNBC hostess.

Newsweek Reporter Falls For Obvious Parody Twitter Account, Reports on It

In the wake of the Hunter Biden pardon scandal, Newsweek reported insight and analysis from… a parody account.

The publication fell for the Dr Parik Patel – a fictional internet personality which is popular within the financial world. The fake account claims to be the father of Kash Patel, nominee to become Director of the FBI. The account also claims to be both a medical doctor and a certified financial accountant, which naturally should’ve been a sign the account is satirical.

“A surprising voice to weigh in on the pardon is Dr. Parik, father of FBI Director nominee Kash Patel,” wrote Newsweek in their reaction to the President’s decision to pardon his son. “The elder Patel wrote on X that Biden made the decision to pardon Hunter because he was “so worried about MY SON Kashu becoming director of the FBI that he decided to pardon his son… of all crimes.”

It goes without saying that the parody account, which is clearly marked as “parody” on X, has no connection to Kash Patel. Nevertheless, Newsweek were forced to amend their article following publication, simply writing, “Corrected 12/2/24 at 8:57 p.m. ET: Corrects to move incorrect reference to Parik Patel.”

While the article acknowledges removing reference to the satirical account, it doesn’t explain why they had to make the humiliating correction in an attempt to save themselves from embarassment.

Many were stunned that the error had actually happened!

Others were less surprised, citing concerns over Newsweek’s credibility.

Cari Champion Thinks Free Speech Is Doomed Under Donald Trump As Musk/MSNBC Rumors Swirl

Former ESPN personality Cari Champion appeared on CNN to discuss Elon Musk’s rumored takeover of MSNBC.

The X owner has flirted with the idea in recent weeks as Comcast completes a corporate restructuring. Jovial remarks over Musk purchasing MSNBC have dominated social media – much to the dismay of the network’s loyal, left-wing viewers.

Champion is another who’s opposed to the potential takeover, arguing that while she would not be surprised by a Musk bid, said she believed it “just can’t happen in real life.” She was not optimistic for a second Donald Trump presidency, either, and we know how that prediction turned out.

“I do believe that media – everyone sitting here at this table – are in for some tough years ahead,” Champion said on Monday. “I do not believe that we are not going to be as safe or say what we want to. I don’t think free speech is going to be as free.”

CNN’s only actually conservative pundit Scott Jennings was perplexed by the idea as Champion then advocated for stricter regulation on social media. “How much government regulation of the First Amendment are you for?” responded the Republican.

“Let me tell you something: If I came on here and just started calling you all kinds of names, do you think the bosses would let me continue to do that?” replied the former SportsCenter broadcaster, who wasn’t being called names. “There is a level of professionalism in what we do here. There is no moral compass on this thing called X.”

Many noted similarities to Musk’s previous purchase of Twitter.

Another noted irony in the CNN panel’s comments.

Others believed the takeover was likely.

The View Has Started In-Fighting Over “Credibility”

Prior to the presidential election, “The View” was daytime talk show tasked with promoting Vice President Kamala Harris – though they would’ve also promoted literally any Democrat that became the president nominee following the coup on Joe Biden.

The insufferable panelists on the show would regularly follow the Democrat Party line and berate Donald Trump while inviting friendly allies on to discuss the so-called benefits of another Harris term. Unfortunately for The View, Harris lost.

Much like the Democrats themselves, The View has been in turmoil since the election. Whoopi Goldberg’s false accusations against a New York bakery discriminating against her over politics were a sign of things to come, with in-fighting interrupted by the occasional on-air clarification for legal reasons.

As ratings continue to plummet, the co-hosts have ramped up the squabbling, with Goldberg all of a sudden taking issue with Ana Navarro’s fearmongering over the upcoming Donald Trump presidency. This had never been an issue for her before, leading me to believe it’s only because she now realizing how damaging her hysteria has been for the show’s already non-existent reputation.

“I’m not going to wait and see. I mean, this guy has told us he’s a retribution. He’s going to be a dictator,” Navarro said.

“There’s nothing to be done until you know what you’re fighting,” Goldberg responded. “Pissing in the wind doesn’t help – you just get a wet face.”

“What I’m saying is I have no false expectations that at 78, he’s going to, all of a sudden, turn into another human being,” replied Navarro. “I spent weeks telling people that he was apocalyptic. I’m not going to change.”

“You lose credibility in many different ways,” responded Goldberg. “If you don’t know what you’re talking about and you accuse him of something, then they’re going to blow it back. That’s why I say we need to wait and see.”

Watch the whole catfight below:

Many on social media were stunned by Goldberg’s sudden U-turn, with some believing it was a deliberate attempt to improving the dismal ratings.

Others believed the writing was on the wall for The View.

“The Funniest Idea Ever!” – Could Elon Musk Purchase MSNBC?

Comcast has announced it intends to realign its corporate oversight of NBCUniversal, creating major implications for networks such as MSNBC and CNBC.

The former has been under particularly scrutiny over the past year; a major shift to the left, openly admitted by a producer at the news network, has seen interest in left-wing media coverage plummet in the wake of the presidential election.

Under the new corporate structure, MSNBC and CNBC will technically be owned by different companies within the Comcast umbrella. In short, it’s selling the networks to a new company it has created, effectively differentiating the two from the remainder of Comcast’s content.

The development has led to jovial speculation regarding a potential sale of MSNBC. Speculation over the future of a network which employs the likes of Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow has grown jovially on social media, with some – including Donald Trump Jr. – suggesting Elon Musk purchase the network.

Maddow has already had to take a $5 million pay cut amid the network’s struggles.

Musk inquired how much the network would cost in response to the President-elect’s son on X, who claimed a takeover would be the “funniest idea ever”. Musk later added, “The most entertaining outcome, especially if ironic, is most likely,” with a laughing emoji as if to suggest interest in a potential purchase.

Many remembered the business magnate’s initial interest in Twitter.

Others expected a personnel change on MSNBC should Musk purchase the network.

Cenk Uygur Wants To Be Put In Charge Of The Pentagon

Liberal media personality Cenk Uygur apparently wants a role in the Trump administration.

The Young Turks host is renowned for his left-wing views, and his disdain for Donald Trump has been well-documented over the past few years. Yet, with the woke left all-but defeated in the wake of the presidential election, Uygur has been critical of the left (while remaining a leftist).

Asking Elon Musk to put him “in charge of the Pentagon”, Uygur said, “I’ll slash $400 billion easy. That’ll get you 20% to your goal of $2 trillion, right out of the gate. I went to Wharton three years before you. I own a media company, so I know how to run a business. If you really want to cut, put me in, coach.”

Musk responded that “specific suggestions” would be welcomed within his new Department of Government Efficiency.

“As you know, you’d need to see the line items in the budget, but I have one suggestion already,” Uygur replied. “The generals are not allowed to get a job with defense contractors for ten years. They authorize so much wasteful spending because they’re going to get hired by those same companies.”

Although Uygur obviously did not get his wish to be “put in charge of the Pentagon,” and never will, he did say he the right seemed “more open and inclusive” than his liberal colleagues. He also argued that the Democrats “hate their base” and were the “less tolerant party.”

Many were bemused by the idea of Uygur joining the right.

Others weren’t buying Uyger’s newfound ideology.

New York Times Fumbles Its Own Fact Check On RFK Jr.

The New York Times (NYT) embarrassingly contradicted its own fact check on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over the weekend within a single paragraph.

RFK Jr., who last week was appointed to Donald Trump’s cabinet as Secretary for Health and Human Services, was the focus of a NYT article titled, “Kennedy’s Vow to Take On Big Food Could Alienate His New G.O.P. Allies.” It largely focused on the former presidential candidate’s ambitions to Make America Healthy Again, specifically his war on processed food.

The NYT took issue with Kennedy’s remarks about Froot Loops, where he highlighted the differences between the cereal in the U.S. and Canada. He asked, “Why do we have Froot Loops in this country that have 18 or 19 ingredients, and you go to Canada and it has two or three?” in an interview with MSNBC.

The article claiming Kennedy was “was wrong on the ingredient count” while deliberately ignoring the essence of his claim that American food is overly processed compared to its Canadian counterpart.

Then, within the same paragraph, the Times hilariously admits that “But the Canadian version does have natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used ‘for freshness,’ according to the ingredient label.”

Many on social media ridiculed the NYT for the fumbled fact check.

The NYT has since updated their piece, blaming an “editing error.”

The story now reads as follows, post-update:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams Surprises “The View” In Debate Over Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Unwatchable ABC daytime talk show “The View” invited New York Mayor Eric Adams on for its Friday, Nov. 15 edition in the wake of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s appointment as Secretary for Health and Human Services.

The program typically only invites Democrats (or Republicans who might as well be Democrats) to discuss current affairs, and Mayor Adams is no exception. However, The View got more than it bargained for when Adams unexpectedly began to defend RFK Jr. and President-elect Donald Trump.

The talk show hosts were skeptical of Kennedy’s appointment, but Adams acknowledged ongoing health issues with hormones in food and fluoride in water. They then began to question whether HHS officials would leave en masse once RFK Jr. assumed the role (which would actually just help drain the swamp).

“If we love our country, then no one individual should take us away from our mission,” Adams said. “If you’ve dedicated your life to a particular place… I dedicated my life to law enforcement; if a new commissioner came in that I disagreed with, I [wouldn’t] say I was going to resign.”

Calling on Americans to love the country, Adams continued, “Those are experts in this; they’re going to look at his proposals, do a real analysis, and make these decisions. It happens every day.”

The hosts then tried to shift the conversation to Adams’ reluctance to join his party colleagues in describing Trump as a fascist.

“We’ve reached a point in this country where we no longer want to engage in conversation,” Adams said. “They were even calling him Hitler; that was an insult to the millions of Jews and others who died.”

Adams’ remarks left some commentors on social media to ponder whether his views align more closely with the GOP.

Others were simply stunned by The View’s continual promotion of the left-wing agenda, particularly given Adams’ remarks.

Scott Jennings Destroys CNN Panel During Row Over RFK Jr

CNN, like much of the mainstream media, was distraught over Donald Trump’s appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the role of Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Leftist media outlets have largely focused on the fact that Kennedy is skeptical over the effectiveness of vaccines, rather than his developed understanding of health issues facing the country.

The appointment prompted debate on Thursday’s edition of Newsnight, with commentator Geoff Duncan arguing there was “no good reason” for the former Democrat to hold the role.

“There’s no managerial experience in his resume; nothing that says he is qualified to do this job,” Duncan said.

Conservative commentator Scott Jennings questioned this thought process, asking what management qualifications Kennedy’s predecessors possessed when they were appointed to the role. As Jennings listed off previous HHS Secretaries’ qualifications, or lack thereof, Duncan interrupted, “Because RFK Jr. is a nut.”

“That’s different to what you just said,” Jennings replied, “You just said he doesn’t possess the requisite managerial experience, but then we get to the real issue here, which is you want to insult the man.”

Jennings then went on to argue that public trust in the health authorities was “as low as it’s ever been,” leading fellow commentator John Avion to ask, “But why?”

“Because of COVID! Because of school closures. Because of mask mandates,” Jennings answered. “Because this country was drugged through a bunch of condescending and heavy-handed mandates that all turned out to be garbage. And that’s why it’s low and the questions are valid.”

There was widespread praise for Jennings when the clip went viral.

There was also a lot of support for RFK Jr.
