CNN Panel Makes Excuses Over Poll Showing Overwhelming Support for Mass Deportations

A CNN panel on Friday downplayed the findings of a Fox News poll released on Thursday, which revealed that 63% of Americans support deporting illegal immigrants. The poll, which surveyed public opinion on immigration and deportation, reflects significant backing for President Donald Trump’s deportation agenda, a key promise of his 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump’s plan to conduct mass deportations, should he be reelected, has also garnered majority support, according to a Scripps News/Ipsos poll published in September 2024.

However, on CNN’s Inside Politics with Dana Bash, White House correspondent Laura Barrón-López and journalist Peter Hamby suggested that the level of support for deportations may not be as strong as the Fox News poll indicates. Their comments came after a segment on immigration correspondent Priscilla Alvarez’s report about the family members of individuals deported on planes to El Salvador on Saturday.

Barrón-López, during her appearance, pointed out that Trump’s administration has consistently framed deportations as targeting criminals. She questioned the public’s true stance on deportation, particularly when it comes to individuals who may not have a criminal history.

“I think that obviously the president has kind of blanketed the airwaves with saying that all of these people deported are criminals,” Barrón-López said.

“And given the fact that we reporters like Priscilla or I, we have very limited information as to who exactly has been deported, the government has not handed over names. I know CBS got a hold of a list of names, but that hasn’t been provided to those who are asking for who was actually deported.”

Barrón-López continued, highlighting the distinction between people who enter the country illegally and those who overstay their visas.

She emphasized that overstaying a visa isn’t considered a criminal act, contrasting it with the Trump administration’s focus on deporting individuals with criminal backgrounds.

“There is a difference between someone who came into the country illegally versus someone who overstayed their visa. That’s not a crime versus someone who has no criminal record, no criminal history,” Barrón-López stated.

She also discussed the deportation of Venezuelan nationals, noting that family members and lawyers of some deported individuals claim that their clients had no criminal records and were in the middle of immigration proceedings. Some of these individuals, she said, were sent to El Salvador, but their families and lawyers have struggled to contact them since the deportations. In response, CNN anchor Dana Bash acknowledged Barrón-López’s points, suggesting that the Trump administration’s lack of transparency on the issue complicates the public’s understanding of the deportation process.

“I was thinking just that. A lot of political fights are academic and opaque to a lot of the American public,” Hamby added.

“And if you look back on Donald Trump’s first term, the moments when he really saw big public backlash were moments that were accompanied by images, videos, stories of people, child separation being a good example, January 6th being a good example. You see the videos.”

On the same day as the CNN segment, the Trump administration used the Alien Enemies Act to deport members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA). El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele confirmed on Sunday that his country received 238 members of TdA and 23 members of the MS-13 gang.

The Fox News poll, which gauged public opinion on deporting illegal immigrants, asked participants whether they “favor” or “oppose” deporting individuals in the country illegally. Barrón-López raised concerns about how such questions are framed in polls, suggesting that the inclusion of certain categories—such as those who overstayed visas or were in the process of claiming asylum—could influence the results.

“So sometimes I think it’s also the way we ask those questions in polls,” Barrón-López said.

“Are we framing it as they are illegal immigrants, or are we, you know, splitting it up and saying some of these people overstay visas? That’s not illegal. Some were in the process of claiming asylum. Are Americans opposed to all those different types of immigrants that have been living in this country, in some cases, for decades?”

Bash echoed Barrón-López’s point, questioning whether Americans would support deporting families who have been living in the U.S. for long periods.

“When you start to split hairs on immigration, the vast majority of Americans want criminals deported, but those numbers shrink when it gets into do you support separating families who have been here?” Hamby concluded, noting that support for deporting long-term residents is generally lower than for deporting more recent arrivals.

The discussion on CNN highlights the ongoing debate over immigration policies, with different sides questioning both the legal and moral implications of mass deportation efforts as the Trump administration continues its tough stance on immigration enforcement.

Tom Homan Destroys Joy Reid After Immigration Remarks: She’s “Dumber than a Box of Rocks”

Border czar Tom Homan slammed MSNBC host Joy Reid for remarks on the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement efforts, calling her “dumber than a box of rocks.”

The nationwide ICE operations have already led to the arrest of 4,500 violent criminals, including gang members, kidnappers, murderers, and rapists. The efforts are moving quickly to make America’s cities safe again, another promise President Donald Trump is fulfilling.

During Reid’s show, she referred to the raids as “performative,” while New York Attorney General Letitia James said the enforcement actions were “reckless.”

Watch:

Homan responded to the remarks by saying, “She’s dumber than a box of rocks,” referring to Reid.

“What ICE did in Chicago is saved children. What we did in New York today is save children.”

“Just in Chicago alone, we arrested at least nine sexual predators, most of them child sex predators. We took them off the street,” he stated.

Highlighting the concerns over national security and noting the rise in individuals on the terrorist watch list crossing into the U.S. under Biden, Homan said, “Under Biden, we had a 3,500% increase in people on terrorist watch lists. No, we’re saving this nation.”

“We make America safe again. So they need to get out of the way because we’re coming. We’re going to do it. They’re not going to stop us.”

Earlier this week, ICE reported 1,016 arrests and 814 detainers lodged. The surge in illegal crossings under the Biden administration pushed the country to breaking point, and now it is being reversed by Trump.

Reid’s overage of immigration enforcement saw backlash on social media, with many accusing her of downplaying the risks posed by illegal immigration.

Meanwhile, Conservative commentators said Reid’s rhetoric misrepresents the dangers posed by unchecked migration and undermines ICE’s efforts.

“I Really Don’t Care, Margaret”: J.D. Vance Destroys CBS News Reporter In Row Over Refugees

J.D. Vance owned broadcaster Margaret Brennan in an interview with CBS News on Sunday, Jan. 26.

Appearing on “Face the Nation” in his first sit-down interview as Vice President, Vance discussed the issue of vetting refugees to the United States. He expressed doubt that a thorough screening process had taken place for all refugees, adding that his “primary concern is to look after the American people” as Vice President.

“Now that we know that we have vetting problems with a lot of these refugee programs, we absolutely cannot unleash thousands of unvetted people into our country,” he said.

Brennan interjected, arguing that “these people are vetted”.

However, an undeterred Vance struck back, and said, “Just like the guy who planned a terrorist attack in Oklahoma a few months ago? He was allegedly properly vetted, and many people in the media and the Democratic Party said that he was properly vetted. Clearly, he wasn’t.”

As the Brennan tried to interrupt once again, Vance continued, “I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted, and because I don’t want it for my kids, I’m not going to force any other American citizens kids’ to do that either.”

The CBS broadcaster argued that the Afghan national arrested for conspiring to conduct an Election Day terrorist attack on behalf of ISIS was “a very particular case,” adding, “It wasn’t clear if he was radicalized when he got here or while he was living here.”

“I don’t really care, Margaret,” responded Vance, “I don’t want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me.”

Many were highly praiseful of Vance’s conduct during the interview.

Others were more critical of Brennan’s performance.

Teacher Has Some Tough Talkin’ for the Feds: How’s That Gonna Work Out?

Back when America had families, most people remembered trying to get away with things before Dad got home. Many a mother–or babysitter–could be heard to say, “Just wait until your father gets home.” That signaled that shenanigans were coming to an end, your room had better get cleaned, and your backside might smart tomorrow.

Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States is the biggest daddy-coming-home moment this country has ever seen. On his first day in office he signed hundreds of executive orders, just as he promised. With the stroke of a pen, Trump wiped out Joe Biden’s demented reinterpretation of laws meant to protect female students, clarifying that the word woman means “woman,” not “man who says he’s a woman.”

He closed every single Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) office in the federal government and put every single employee working for such on unpaid leave. No more tax dollars will be siphoned off by leftists posing as good people while they practice illegal racial discrimination against white people, men, and normal Americans. He shocked the cosmopolitan world elite at Davos by telling those globalist bastards that from here on out, the U.S. recognizes only two sexes: the real ones, male and female.

For leftists who’ve been in the cultural catbird seat for too long, the transition will be difficult. Predictably, many of them are squawking tough, acting as though their TikTok sass will be enough to let them continue getting away with whatever they want.

Here is one such case, a transgender “woman” public school teacher with super strong words of warning about any customs and border agents who dare to enforce immigration law in school.

Quoth the instructor: “ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) can now raid classrooms, and as a high school teacher I just wanna make one thing clear,” it croaks. “If someone tries to come in my classroom and take one of my students, one of us [head waggle] isn’t leaving the classroom. Play with me.”

I think we can imagine how that would go.

In his description on the video, the teacher, now named “Katie,” attempts to pretend the clear threat in the video isn’t actually a threat, while explicitly confirming he’s only saying he’s only saying that for legal reasons.

No the brightest bulb, clearly.

Somehow, it seems more likely that this morbidly obese man with a fetish is going to be the one who loses that showdown.

CNN Anchor Gobsmacked at Notion of Enforcing Law Against Illegal Aliens

The mainstream media has so thoroughly reversed the truth for so many years that even the skeptical among us don’t really react anymore when the most ludicrous statements are made by people who are allegedly trustworthy and serious. Since at least 2016, the left—and the mainstream media is 100 percent left-aligned with the partial exception of Fox News—has successfully unmoored the very idea of truth from anything observable or sensible in the real world.

Look at how many Americans accept the idea that there are “transgender children.” That is to say, grown adults in huge numbers profess to believe that it is natural and normal for a percentage of children to be “born in the wrong body.” If that doesn’t shock you reading it, that’s because you, like all the rest of us, have been living in a deliberately created dystopian fiction that’s worn you down. You may expect  to hear straight lunacy on the news, but you should not. Big, society-level lies such as the existence of “transgender children” (or really, “transgender” anyone) do enough damage on their own, but there’s a secondary damage: We get used to it enough that we don’t fight back much anymore.

It’s how cults work. It’s how cult societies such as North Korea grind down adults of ordinary intelligence until they actually believe that it’s Americans, not North Koreans, who are suffering under political abuse.

So it isn’t a surprise when an allegedly respectable, grown-up news anchor like CNN’s Dana Bash cannot seem to comprehend that it’s normal and morally acceptable to enforce the law against lawbreakers. She can’t accept that simple premise. Listen to Bash characterize the completely normal activity of apprehending criminals, then transporting criminals to where they need to go, as if it were some wicked and nefarious Nazi-inspired activity.

We’re talking about illegal aliens who broke U.S. law and entered the country without permission. Bash seems, on some (emotional?) level, not to be able to accept that this is actually a crime. She seems unable to accept that, well, yes, physically rounding them up and getting them out of the country is the normal thing countries do with illegal border jumpers. You can imagine her saying to a cop, “Are you really saying that you’re going to HANDCUFF men who break into people’s living rooms?”

Border Czar Tom Homan is having none of it. He reminds Bash that this is a law enforcement action, and that, yes, “sanctuary cities” who try to obstruct the carrying out of the law are not going get away with it.

Mass Murderer With ISIS Flag in New Orleans “Not Terrorist”: FBI

The Trump inauguration cannot come fast enough. For years Americans have been lied to by the government, obviously, but it’s become unbearable to hear government officials straight up tells us that we’re not seeing what we’re seeing.

At least 15 people are dead in New Orleans after the latest Islamist attack. According to cops, 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar (laughably referred to as “of Texas” by media) plowed his pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon street, killing 10 and injuring many more on the first day of 2025. Jabbar then jumped out of the rented truck and opened fire on police. Thankfully, none of the cops were hurt, and Jabbar was shot dead.

Amazingly, the FBI initially claimed that this was *not* a terrorist event.

“This is not a terrorist event,” the FBI spokeswoman declares confidently. How could she even doubt terrorism as a motive in the immediate aftermath. It’s even worse than that – because an ISIS flag had been found on the truck used to carry out the attack. That would, yes, make this a “terrorist event.”

Hell, you can see the flag on a pole on the back of the suspect’s truck!

Why is the FBI insisting on lying about the obvious murderous intent displayed by so many Muslim immigrant men who end up in the United States? No, it isn’t most Muslims, or most Muslim immigrants. But it’s obviously a much higher percentage than it should be. Does the FBI consider itself American? Does it care about its own country, or even the safety of the families of its own agents and employees?

There’s more. If the report from this X/Twitter account is accurate, Jabbar has donated at least twice to the progressive Democrat PAC ActBlue:

We can probably look forward now to being told by the Democratic National Committee and its adherents that Jabbar was a “far-right extremist,” too. I mean, why not? Despite attack after attack by Muslims, our own government assures us that it’s conservative American white men who pose the greatest danger to our society.

Let’s take the temperature on X:

Gavin Newsom Planning to Help Illegal Migrants Escape Trump’s Deportation Efforts

California Gov. Gavin Newsom‘s administration is now scrambling to implement new plans to aid illegal migrants avoid deportation when President Donald Trump takes office next year.

According to an internal memo within the Newsom administration, the administration proposes the “creation of an Immigrant Support Network comprised of regional ‘hubs’ to connect at-risk individuals, their families, and communities with community systems—such as legal services, schools, labor unions, local governments, etc.”

That’s right, the Newsom is planning to defy the president of the United States and keep criminal illegal aliens in his state.

Watch

The New York Post reports:

A spokesperson for the governor’s office told The Post that the memo appears to be a “preliminary” document drafted at the “department-level” and that it has not been reviewed by Newsom.

“This document is an internal and deliberative draft document meant for internal discussions as part of a number of possible considerations given the incoming federal administration’s public remarks,” Scott Murray, a spokesperson for California’s Department of Social Services — the agency that drafted the memo — told The Post Tuesday.

“It is not a final proposal,” he added.

The Department of Social Services is still gauging interest in the proposed program, according to Politico, and determining when it could be implemented.

If the plan is finalized, it will be announced in mid-January, according to the outlet.

Meanwhile, Newsom convened a special session to secure $25 million to fund potential lawsuits against the incoming Trump administration.

The report follows Newsom convening a special session to secure $25 million to fund potential lawsuits against the incoming Trump administration.

Fox News reports:

The draft is part of an effort by California leaders to prepare for a second Trump administration. After Trump was elected, Newsom called a special legislative session and talked of a $25 million “Trump-proof” legal defence fund.

In addition, state lawmakers were lobbying for additional funds.

Senate Budget Chair Scott Wiener proposed legislation seeking $60 million, including funds to create an immigrant detention representation and coordination program, Politico reported.

Under the draft, the state Social Services Department would give state funds to eligible nonprofits and take on administrative duties for the hubs.

The draft does not indicate how much funding the plan requires. However, it said the funds would go toward “community outreach, partnership, legal services staffing positions, and approved administrative costs associated with hub operations,” the Politico report said.

CNN Commentator And Former Donald Trump Staffer Clash Over Immigration Concerns Among Latino Voters

Despite an overwhelming wave of support from Latino voters and major concerns over illegal immigration, CNN commentator Maria Cardona insisted they’ll regret their support for President-elect Donald Trump.

The Republican secured major gains across the Latino and Hispanic community, and won a majority of the Hispanic male vote. Former Democrat strongholds such as Miami-Dade voted in favor of Trump, breaking decades of precedent.

Trump’s performance among such a crucial demographic prompted debate between Spanish speakers Cardona and Giancarlo Sopo – Trump’s campaign director for Spanish Language Media in 2020. The latter cited immigration as a key issue for Hispanic voters.

“Immigration was cited as one of the top 5 issues for Hispanics for voting against Kamala Harris. So I think it’s very clear, no matter which polls you look at, favor a very strong border policy because it’s just common sense,” Sopo said. “And we simply cannot have millions of people rolling around this country most of whom have not been vetted, many of them have criminal backgrounds, and I agree most of them just come here because they want to work and they want to have a better life, but we don’t know that because we don’t know who these people are. So, I actually do not anticipate any kind of major backlash to any kind of border enforcement.”

Cardona was less convinced, and insisted the former Trump staff knew “so much better than what [she was] spouting right now.”

“Our community is going to go through pain, our community is going to go through cruelty, that is not what anyone voted for,” the CNN broadcaster retorted. “And in fact, I will tell the American electorate, if the incoming Trump administration goes through this, here’s the people they’re gonna go after. They’re gonna go after your kids’ classmates, they’re gonna go after the delivery guy, they’re gonna go after the guy who take care of your kids, they’re gonna go after the people who work in restaurants, they’re gonna go after the business owners in your community.”

Many on social media sided with Sopa in response to the clip.

Others were more convinced by Cardona’s response.

Tom Homan Fires Back After “The View” Claims He’ll Deport U.S. Citizens

Left-wing meltdown program “The View” was predictably terrified by Donald Trump’s appointment of Tom Homan as the new border czar.

The daily ABC show has struggled to cope since Trump was elected last Tuesday, and his appointment of Homan to protect the nation’s borders went down like a lead balloon with the leftist hosts.

Ana Navarro took particular offence to a clip where Homan said families “can be deported together” when he was asked about illegal alien families being “separated.” She hysterically interpreted this to mean that U.S Citizens would be deported, despite Homan making no reference to such a policy – and the fact that deporting U.S. citizens is illegal.

“What he is saying is, if the parent is undocumented and they have U.S. Citizen children or U.S. Citizen spouses, and you don’t want to separate them, then let’s deport the U.S. Citizens,” Navarro said.

It’s needless to say that Homan was quick to respond when questioned about the comments later that day on Fox News.

“No, exactly not,” Homan laughed when asked on whether he planned to deport American citizens. “Look, ‘The View’ is like an island of misfit toys. They don’t know what the Hell they’re talking about.”

“President Trump has made it clear we will prioritize public safety threats and national security threats first,” Homan continued. “If you’re in the country illegally, you shouldn’t feel comfortable, absolutely not. I won’t feel comfortable if I’m in the country illegally. If I’m in some other country illegally, I’m not going to be comfortable.”

Many on social media agreed with the new border czar’s response.

There was also significant criticism of The View.

Terrorist Encounters at the Border Skyrocket Under Biden-Harris Administration

Encounters with known or suspected terrorists at the border have risen substantially under the Biden-Harris administration, data from the U.S. Customs and Border Control reveals.

Just 14 encounters with known or suspected terrorists took place under Donald Trump’s administration according to the data. President Biden’s administration, which placed “border czar” Kamala Harris in charge of immigration security, saw that number beaten in the first year of his presidency alone, with 16 encounters.

It’s the previous three years, however, where the numbers truly become shocking. 2022 saw 98 encounters with known or suspected terrorists at the border, with the following year yielding 172. Although 2024 isn’t set to surpass that peak, it’s likely this year’s figure, currently standing at 94, will surpass 2022.

Biden’s worst year saw a 2,867% increase from Trump’s worst year for terrorist encounters.

One user shed further light on the data.

Many, though, warned of the dangers the data presented.

The statistics were so bad for the administration that some even wondered whether Trump and Biden had a completely different border policy!
