According to Griffin, she began receiving messages and calls from people who knew about her friendship with O’Donnell.

They wanted to know which night she would appear and whether her involvement might be kept as a surprise.

Some people also wondered whether Griffin and O’Donnell would perform a sketch or have an interview.

The growing number of questions led Griffin to become “kind of excited” about the possibility of what she described as “a really cool moment.”

However, the anticipated appearance never materialized.

Griffin said the moment passed as O’Donnell’s hosting week continued without her joining the show.

Despite feeling left out, Griffin made clear that she still supported O’Donnell’s opportunity.

She encouraged her followers to watch the program and cheer for her longtime friend throughout the week.

“I just think it’s a tricky situation because I’m having all kinds of the feels. I will watch every night and cheer her on, of course,” Griffin concluded in the Reel.

He also described how he believes the event could be organized and broadcast.

“We will put it on pay-per-view.”

He said the $10 million prize would be awarded if the boys’ team won the exhibition.

Ethan Suplee is reflecting on his past addiction struggles following the apparent overdose of his late “Remember the Titans” co star Hayden Panettiere.

In a vulnerable Substack essay published Monday, the actor revisited the night of the film’s premiere in 2000, as reported by Page Six.

Suplee, 50, revealed that he smoked heroin during the premiere and went to bed believing he “wouldn’t wake up.” His account detailed the pain and shame he experienced throughout the evening.

“I went from the press line to the bathroom and smoked heroin,” he wrote. Suplee explained that his emotions intensified after he met Louie Lastik, the person he portrayed in the film.

“He wasn’t fat. Not like I was. I imagined his disappointment at seeing who they’d gotten to play him. So I went back to the bathroom and smoked heroin,” Suplee recalled.

The evening became more painful when the cast was expected to ride around the stadium in golf carts. Suplee said his cart broke after he sat down, leaving him overwhelmed during the screening.

“Then we were all supposed to take laps around the stadium in golf carts,” he continued.

“When I sat on our cart, it broke, I crushed one of the rear wheels … While the movie played, I sat in the bathroom, cried, and smoked heroin.”

Suplee also described going to sleep that night with little concern about whether he would survive.

“I didn’t die of an accidental overdose that night. But I went to bed believing I wouldn’t wake up, and that didn’t seem so bad. Better than whatever a new day offered.”

Amid those memories, the “My Name Is Earl” alum recalled Panettiere bringing him brief moments of comfort. Her warmth on the red carpet temporarily lifted some of the anguish he was carrying.

“On the red carpet … [she] ran up to me, leapt into my arms and gave me a big hug. Holding her, I was lighter, some of her energy and innocence washed over me, and for a moment my smile was genuine,” he remembered.

Suplee encountered the Golden Globe nominee again later that night. He wrote, “Once again, she leapt into my arms, and once again I felt some relief.”

Panettiere died in South Carolina over the weekend of an apparent overdose, though the 36 year old actress’ cause of death is not yet known. Suplee also reflected on young actors Christopher Pettiet and Harold Pruett, who met similar fates.

Pettiet died at age 24 in 2000, while Pruett was 32 when he died two years later. Their deaths, along with Panettiere’s, weighed heavily on Suplee as he considered the battles they may have faced.

“I feel a tremendous sense of loss today. I don’t know what they were going through at the end,” Suplee wrote. “I only know that for them, the battle is over. And I’m sad.”

After “Remember the Titans,” Suplee got sober and lost more than 250 pounds. He concluded his reflection by emphasizing that accepting assistance was as important as finding the strength to seek it.

“The miracle of my life wasn’t just asking for help; it was finding the courage to accept it. Something that seemed impossible,” he wrote.

Panettiere publicly discussed her own struggles with alcohol and opioid addiction in a 2022 interview with People. She confessed that the substances “became something [she] almost couldn’t live without.”

The “Nashville” alum shared more about her life in her May memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning.” While promoting the memoir, Panettiere told “CBS Mornings” host Gayle King that she was in a “good place.”

King said Monday that Panettiere was “clearly still struggling” during that appearance.

Justin Chatwin, Panettiere’s “Sleepwalker” co-star, similarly claimed the “lonely” actress was “struggling” while filming the movie in 2025.

Chatwin said Panettiere seemed “different” from when he had first met her years earlier. Suplee’s tribute ultimately centered on grief, the devastation of addiction, and the courage he found to accept help.

David Krumholtz is stepping away from acting after more than 30 years in Hollywood, saying the business has left him “frustrated, fed up, fried.”

The 48-year-old actor declared that he is taking an “indefinite break” amid concerns about how actors are treated and fears that he could go “broke.”

“I kinda sorta put my acting career on hold the other day. It’s been something I’ve been petrified to do for years,” Krumholtz wrote Monday in a Threads post that was later deleted, as Page Six reported.

“Specifically, the fear was that I’d go broke and not be able to handle being out of the game,” he continued. However, the New York City-born actor said he ultimately “sent the definitive email” to call it quits.

After sending that message, Krumholtz wrote, “A huge wave of relief washed over me.” He added, “Not sure what I’m going to do for money instead, or how I’m going to do it, but I just removed a humongous burden, one that I truly didn’t fathom the weight of until it was gone.”

Krumholtz said he has spent the past year fighting for parts that he believes provide less money and fewer opportunities despite his decades of experience.

“Exploitative art isn’t art. And artists deserve a fair pay percentage for work that assists their employers in making profits,” he wrote.

The actor, who began working as a teenager in the early 1990s, also argued that Hollywood has changed significantly during his career. “Pay was fair. And the momentum could be built,” he wrote.

Krumholtz said talent did not always guarantee success, but studios once continued working with people who delivered profitable projects.

“And while talent was never a surefire marker of success … if you helped make a Studio money, you were guaranteed to get another opportunity to do so,” he wrote.

He blamed the transformation on major changes within the entertainment industry.

“But with conglomerate corporatizing of Hollywood, those unwritten rules of mutual respect have shifted … Drastically. I’m being asked to ‘hang in there’ by my own union and reps.”

Krumholtz also expressed frustration over expectations that actors promote themselves online to secure other sources of income.

He said he is “[I’m] asked to reinvent myself on social media for likes and follows so that I can be considered for fan conventions and internet ads just so I can make the money that simply acting on a TV show or film or stage refuses to pay me anymore.”

The “Supergirl” actor described the situation as a broad professional setback affecting many people in the business.

“I, along with many talented folks, not just actors, are being mass demoted. Imagine you excel in your career for 34 years, just to be drastically demoted for it.”

Despite announcing his break, Krumholtz made clear that he remains willing to consider the right acting opportunity.

“If you want to work with me as an actor, I am interested. If you believe in what I can do as an actor, I believe in you,” he wrote.

He also said he would stop pleading with people who believe they have already seen everything he can offer.

“If you simply don’t, if you think you’ve seen all I can do and it’s just not enough for you, that’s fine, so I’ll just stop begging.”

“I’m not above begging for financial security. But what’s the point of begging for none?” Krumholtz continued.

“It’s a goddamn shame, but I have to be responsible for what I can control and change and that’s me and my heart,” he added.

The actor said he now intends to direct his efforts elsewhere while continuing to act when he can make an impact.

“I can give of myself willingly, elsewhere. I can still act,” Krumholtz wrote.

“I can act to make an impact, rather than a measly buck. And that’s my choice. And that’s exactly what I plan to do.”

Krumholtz is known for “The Santa Clause,” “Numb3rs,” “10 Things I Hate About You,” and the “Harold & Kumar” franchise.

He also continued working this year with a role in the upcoming film “Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story.”

In 2023, he portrayed Isidor Isaac Rabi in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster film “Oppenheimer.”

In June, he told Page Six that his residuals from “The Santa Clause” franchise had dwindled to an estimated “$150 a year.”

Krumholtz played head elf Bernard in the 1994 holiday film starring Tim Allen and returned for the 2002 sequel. He skipped the third film in 2006 before returning for the Disney+ series in 2022.

“They’re minimal because the movie plays so much,” he said of the residuals. “This is how residuals work: Every time it plays, you make less. It’s a grade scale.”

Nicola Coughlan revealed that she is taking a step back from her role as Penelope Featherington in the forthcoming fifth season of “Bridgerton.” The change follows a defining chapter for her character in the Netflix drama, as reported by Page Six.

“It’s bittersweet,” the actress, 39, told E! News in an interview published Tuesday. Coughlan also reflected warmly on everything she experienced during her time at the center of the series.

“I feel like, God, I had such an epic run,” she said. Coughlan pointed to the way the world of “Bridgerton” regularly changes as each season turns its attention toward another story.

“I think that’s part of the beauty of that world is it keeps reinventing itself,” she continued. That approach has allowed different characters and relationships to move into focus as the drama progresses.

Coughlan’s Penelope was also the original Lady Whistledown, the mysterious author responsible for Regency London’s gossip pamphlet.

Writing anonymously under the pen name, Penelope chronicled ongoing events and secret affairs involving people throughout the town.

Her identity was eventually exposed in society amid her romance with Colin Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Newton.

The revelation came at the end of Season 3 and fundamentally changed Penelope’s ability to continue writing anonymously.

Throughout Season 4, viewers watched Penelope struggle with losing that anonymity. She also faced the difficulty of being unable to produce unbiased columns about other people’s lives once society knew she was the person behind Lady Whistledown.

At the same time, Penelope encountered the consequences created by her gossip. By the conclusion of the season, she decided to retire as Lady Whistledown and focus on her marriage to Colin and her life as a mother.

The story delivered another surprise before the season ended. A new imposter introduced themselves as Lady Whistledown, although the identity of that person has not yet been revealed.

Coughlan does not know who the new writer is either. She admitted to E! News that she was “really bad at keeping secrets,” giving those behind the series a clear reason not to share the answer with her.

“I told everyone and said I was her,” Coughlan explained. Her earlier willingness to reveal Penelope’s secret apparently means she is now experiencing the new Lady Whistledown mystery alongside viewers.

“So they know not to tell me. But I genuinely have no clue, and it’s quite nice not to know. I don’t need to know,” she said of the hidden identity.

The “Derry Girls” alum has also not been informed how many episodes of the upcoming season will feature her. The fifth season is currently set for release in 2027.

Despite taking a step back, Coughlan made it clear that she remains willing to return whenever the series has a place for Penelope. Her enthusiasm extended even to the possibility of simply appearing in the background.

“I’ll always pop back to ‘Bridgerton’ if they want me,” she said. “If I can be set dressing, I’ll be there. No problem.”

The upcoming season will instead be led by Lady Francesca Stirling, portrayed by Hannah Dodd, and Michaela Stirling, played by Masali Baduza.

Tudum by Netflix described their storyline as the first central “Bridgerton” love story involving two characters of the same gender.

Francesca and Michaela were brought together following the death of Francesca’s husband, Lord John Stirling, who was also Michaela’s relative.

His death occurred during Season 4, setting the stage for their story to lead the forthcoming season while Coughlan assumes a smaller presence.

Rodrigo first sent Causey birthday wishes and later contacted her after seeing a video about her struggle to cover the semester’s tuition. Causey was a first-generation college student nearing the end of her education.

“Hi girl! I know you don’t know me, but I love your videos so much, you seem like the kindest coolest gal, and you are such a source of positivity and light in my life!” Rodrigo wrote in a screenshot Causey shared in a TikTok video.

Rodrigo then offered to help Causey with the cost of finishing school. Her message made clear that she had seen the student’s tuition video and wanted to contribute.

“I watched ur last vid about tuition, and I’d love to help out if you were open at all to that? So cool that you are so close to graduating! Do you have a Venmo I could send to?” Rodrigo added.

Causey was stunned when she discovered the message from the pop star. She explained that TikTok had filtered it, keeping her from seeing Rodrigo’s offer immediately.

“Oh my god, hi! I love your music so much. I am so sorry TikTok filtered your message and didn’t show it so me until now. I’m actually about to cry,” Causey responded.

Causey is from Alexander City, Ala., and attended the University of Alabama. In-state undergraduate tuition at the university totals $5,959 for each semester.

Minaj did not limit her message to her own vote. She also appealed to her fans and encouraged them to help Donalds as the election approached.

“Barbz, please support him however you can,” Minaj added in her post. Her message directly called on the fan community associated with her to assist Donalds in whatever way they could.

Donalds quickly responded to the endorsement with his own post on X. He welcomed the support by invoking the name used for Minaj’s fans and presenting them as people capable of recognizing a successful candidate.

“The Barbz know a winner when they see one,” Donalds wrote. His response echoed Minaj’s appeal to her followers and connected their involvement directly to his campaign for governor.

Skylar Swanson, the press secretary for Donalds’s campaign, also addressed Minaj’s decision to back the candidate.

Swanson spoke to Florida’s Voice about why the rapper had endorsed Donalds and what her support meant for the campaign.

Swanson said Minaj was backing Donalds to become Florida’s next governor “because she knows he’s the leader who will keep Florida the best place in the nation to live, work, and raise a family.”

The campaign press secretary also pointed to President Trump’s endorsement of Donalds and described Republicans as united behind him.

Swanson then highlighted the addition of the Barbz to the campaign’s coalition of supporters.

“With President Trump’s endorsement, Republicans united behind Byron, and now the Barbz joining Team Donalds, the excitement and momentum behind this campaign continues to grow every day,” Swanson told Florida’s Voice.

Swanson added that the campaign was “ready to carry this energy into primary election night.” The statement framed Minaj’s endorsement and her appeal to fans as another source of enthusiasm heading into the vote.

Earlier in August, Donalds discussed a major issue in the contest during an interview with Breitbart News on Saturday.

He identified affordability as the leading concern and pointed to his experience in the state house and Congress.

“Affordability is the number one issue,” Donalds said. He then outlined his government experience and his work involving insurance and banking matters.

“I spent four years in the state house, six years in Congress, chaired the insurance and banking subcommittee. So when you’re talking about insurance in our state, I know what levers to pull to actually push insurance costs down.”

Donalds used the interview to connect his experience with his approach to reducing insurance costs in Florida.

Minaj’s later endorsement gave his campaign another prominent supporter while also placing the Barbz directly in his election message.

Ford is set to reprise his role in “Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.” This time, his performance will be captured through an Indiana Jones animatronic modeled after the actor himself.

The announcement arrived through a pre-recorded message played during the D23 fan event. Ford directly addressed the fans who have followed the character through decades of dangerous discoveries and globe-spanning adventures.

“Hello, D23. Thanks for coming along on all of Indy’s adventures,” Ford said in the message.

“Soon it’ll be time for his next ride, and I’m pleased to share that, for the first time ever, I’m the actual model of the Indiana Jones animatronic — fear of snakes included.”

Perez Hilton remains hospitalized nearly two weeks after attempting suicide, according to a new update from his family. His loved ones shared the latest information Monday through a statement posted on the celebrity blogger’s website, as reported by Page Six.

“To everyone who has reached out, checked in, and kept Perez and our family in your thoughts, THANK YOU!” the family wrote. The message acknowledged the support they have received while Hilton continues treatment.

The statement confirmed that Hilton, 48, is still “receiving the medical care he needs.” His family did not provide a possible date for his release from the hospital.

“I don’t want to go into the specific details of his injuries or treatment,” Lavandeira said. “Those are private medical matters.”

Although she maintained the family’s privacy surrounding his care, Lavandeira did share limited information about his condition. She said Hilton had suffered injuries to multiple parts of his body during the incident.

“He did sustain cuts to his face and other areas, but it’s still far too early to know the extent of any lasting damage or scarring,” she said. “What I can say is that he has a long road ahead of him, both physically and mentally.”

Lavandeira also made clear that she was not prepared to predict when Hilton could leave the hospital. “I don’t want to offer a timeline or make promises about when he might come home,” she said.

Hilton, who was born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was hospitalized on Aug. 4 after livestreaming himself engaging in self-harm on TikTok from his Florida home.

Lavandeira was at the residence with Hilton’s three children when the incident unfolded.

Speaking to Page Six, Lavandeira recalled the moment her “nightmare became a reality.” Her immediate focus was getting the children away from the home and contacting authorities.

“I left the room, grabbed the car keys and yelled for the kids to run to the car,” she recalled. “I was able to get everyone out quickly.”

Lavandeira then called police and took additional steps to keep the children away from what was happening. “Once we were in the car, I called the police and arranged for someone to pick up the children, take them away from the scene, and make sure they didn’t return,” she said.

According to Lavandeira, Hilton had been “seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist” before the incident. She said the family had recognized that he was having difficulties and was responding to those concerns.

“There were signs that he was struggling, and we were taking them seriously,” she explained. Two weeks before his suicide attempt, Hilton admitted himself to a hospital for “several days of evaluation and treatment” related to “severe depression.”

After Hilton was discharged, he appeared “so much better,” according to his sister. She said he had also resumed his regular mental health care shortly before he was hospitalized again.

“On Monday, Aug. 3rd, he returned to his regular therapy sessions,” Lavandeira recalled. “On Tuesday, Aug. 4th, he completed an intake call for an intensive outpatient program and was supposed to begin outpatient group therapy the following week.”

“Later that same afternoon, our lives changed forever .” Lavandeira said she is still struggling to “make sense” of the incident, while her “visits and conversations with” Hilton during his latest hospitalization “have been limited.”
