Joe Biden Accused Of Packing The Court Amid Supreme Court Reform Ambitions

President Joe Biden has been accused of packing the Supreme Court as he attempts to introduce term limits on justices.

With his days in office numbered following his decision not to stand for re-election, Biden is pushing an extreme reform of the Supreme Court in a bid to remove conservative influence from the highest judicial body in the land.

Conservatives currently control SCOTUS with a 6-3 majority. Although the court is not limited on the number of justices it can have, it has traditionally been set at nine since 1869.

Packing the Supreme Court is a controversial move, as critics see it as a way for lawmakers, including the President, to exert influence over an otherwise apolitical judicial policy.

To circumvent this, Biden wants to introduce 18-year term limits for Supreme Court justice. “Why 18?” you may wonder. Well, such a move would automatically disqualify conservative justices John Roberts, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, thus meaning Biden could appoint three liberal justices in their place.

In other words, this would change the composition of the court from a 6-3 conservative court to a 6-3 liberal court.

Fortunately, social media users have quickly caught on to the President’s intentions.

Others agreed with the need for term limits, but disagreed with Biden’s desperation. There were also questions over whether the Supreme Court was the right target.

Lone Holdout: Texas Rangers Is the Only MLB Team Not Celebrating Pride Month

As National Pride Month comes to an end, all but one of the 30 teams in Major League Baseball are hosting their annual “Pride Night” events, which celebrate the culture and rights of the LGBTQ community. Many major companies even outside of baseball are known for showing strong public support for “LGBTQ rights”, however, the Texas Rangers baseball team will be the only team without a Pride Night this season, stating that they’re committed to making all guests feel welcome at their games.

In 2001, the Chicago Cubs hosted what is now considered to be the first Pride game in the MLB, and in 2003, the Texas Rangers held a fundraising event in which they invited local LGBTQ communities to a game, which is similar to today’s themes of supporting all kinds of groups throughout the season. Even back then, some Ranger’s supporters expressed dislike for the progressive events, with some protesting outside of the stadium.

Despite the backlash the team is facing this month for not holding a Pride Night, the Texas Rangers have stood their ground and have remained consistent with their response to the matter as team officials have stated that they want to make everyone feel welcomed and included in rangers baseball, at each game, and in all they do at their ballpark. The team further stated that they will continue to deliver on their promise to have a positive impact across their community.

Texas has been known for being politically dominated by Republicans for years, as state lawmakers have joined forces with Governor Greg Abbott in 2023 to push forward many conservative-state limits to LGBTQ rights. The Legislature recently passed new laws to expand definitions of prohibited sexual content in school literature as well as public performances. Governor Abbott also signed the Save Women’s Sports Act that prohibits transgender college athletes from competing in teams that align with their gender identity.

Putin Issues Nuclear Warning to the West

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dangerously played with the threats of nuclear warfare since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. Putin has attempted to strike fear in the hearts of his oppressors by threatening nuclear actions if any NATO countries were to support Ukraine during their battle with Russia in any way, which the U.S. has. However, it seems that the Russian President is back again with more catastrophic threats after announcing his country would be ramping up its nuclear weapons supply.

On Thursday, Vladimir Putin met with graduates of Russia’s military universities at the Kremlin, in which he addressed university students on matters related to Russia’s military capabilities and their “potential” cooperation with NATO, which may seem unbelievable to others in and outside of Russia. Putin also seemed characteristic of the narrative Russia has placed on the West over the past two years, according to Ria Novosti, which is a Russian state-owned news outlet. Putin’s address at the Kremlin started by congratulating the students on their study completion. Following this, the Russian President also took the opportunity to speak on national security in Russia, in which Putin claimed to further develop Russia’s nuclear triad to guarantee “strategic deterrence” and maintain power in the world.

Russia’s nuclear triad in question is a three-part military capability that consists of ballistic missiles that can reach intercontinental distances, submarine-based ballistic missiles, and a bomber aircraft that is capable of carrying nuclear bombs and ballistic missiles. Russia is one of four nations that are confirmed to possess nuclear triads, including the United States, China, and India. In May, the U.S. announced that it was upgrading its nuclear triad, with newly released photos of B-21 stealth bombers conducting test flights.

Although Putin seemed more lenient than usual in his stance towards NATO and the West, the Russian President issued a statement earlier in June stating that the announcement should “not be taken lightly”.
