“Saturday Night Live UK” took aim at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during its Season 2 premiere, mocking the couple’s return to the UK and joking that they had already burned through the money from their lucrative Netflix deal.
The premiere opened with actors Jack Shep and Ayoade Bamgboye portraying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Their royal reunion unfolded at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where King Charles III and Queen Camilla were waiting.
Larry Dean appeared as King Charles III, while Emma Sidi played Queen Camilla.
The sketch quickly set an awkward tone as Harry approached his father with a dramatic announcement.
“Daddy,” Prince Harry tells the King, “I’m home.”
The King immediately turns the reunion into a joke about Harry and Meghan’s finances. “Don’t tell me you’ve spent all your Netflix money already,” he asks.
Harry fires back with another crack about the massive agreement.
“It was $60 million. How long was it meant to last?”
Camilla then joins the uncomfortable exchange. “Hello, sweet Harry,” she says before adding, “And beautiful Meghan, as brown as ever.”
The line appeared to reference Harry and Meghan’s accusation during their interview with Oprah Winfrey that a member of the royal family had asked how dark Prince Archie’s skin might be. Markle is biracial.
Prince William rejected those claims at the time, saying the royals are “very much not a racist family.”
The late Queen Elizabeth II also said that “issues raised, particularly that of race, [were] concerning.”
The sketch continued by poking fun at Markle’s efforts to establish herself as a lifestyle expert.
Her character arrived with a homemade offering for Camilla and another batch of punchlines.
“Hey, Step Queen. I brought you a gift,” Markle says.
“It’s ice. I made it myself,” she continues.
“I can give you the recipe. I’m kind of a wiz in the kitchen,” Markle adds.
The joke appeared to target her Emmy-nominated Netflix lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan.”
Harry quickly undercuts his wife’s kitchen boast. “It’s true,” he says, adding, “She hires the best cooks.”
The tense royal gathering is interrupted by UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, portrayed by George Fouracres.
His arrival gives the sketch another opportunity to ridicule Harry and Meghan’s circumstances.
“Harry, Megan, I’m here to tell you that just because you’re normal folk doesn’t mean your life has to be crap,” Burnham tells them.
He then declares, “That is the Burnham promise.”

The Season 2 premiere was hosted by “Jurassic Park” star Jeff Goldblum and featured CMAT as its musical guest.
News broke last month that Harry and Meghan would return to his home country after leaving their roles as working members of the royal family and moving to Southern California in 2020.
Their children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are expected to attend an upscale prep school there.
Speculation surrounded the reason for the relocation, with one source telling Page Six last month that they “think cash is a big” reason.
Separate sources, however, said the move was really about being closer to Harry’s father and building relationships between the royal family and the couple’s children.
Harry and Meghan signed a lucrative deal with Netflix after leaving the UK.
Through that agreement, they produced several projects for the streaming platform, including “With Love, Meghan” and documentaries such as “Harry & Meghan.”
The deal lasted 5 years and officially ended in September 2025 after Netflix decided not to renew the contract.
News then broke in August that the couple had reached another deal through their Archewell Productions company.
That less formal arrangement gives Netflix the first option on proposals from Archewell Productions.
An insider told Page Six last month that the new agreement is “not much.”
The insider also offered a blunt assessment of what the arrangement means for both sides.
“It’s no risk for Netflix but saves them both reputationally.”
