Shia LaBeouf Shares Alarming Drinking Update Months After Mardi Gras Brawl [WATCH]

Shia LaBeouf continues to “drink alcohol daily” following his drunken Mardi Gras arrest in February, according to documents obtained by TMZ Thursday.

The update comes after the actor pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor battery in June, as reported by Page Six.

LaBeouf was sentenced to two years’ probation and ordered to attend an alcohol treatment class. However, the documents state that he denied mental health treatment and reported that he “drinks alcohol daily.”

The “Transformers” star has complied with requirements to check in with his probation supervisor.

He has also provided proof that he will complete anger management and substance abuse treatment by next month, according to the documents.

His next hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23. A note on the document says LaBeouf will not appear because he is shooting a movie.

The legal consequences stem from an altercation during Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans, Louisiana. LaBeouf was arrested in the predawn hours of Feb. 17 after partying for several days straight.

The “Fury” actor was asked to leave a bar in the French Quarter after allegedly becoming too rowdy. Staffers and patrons described him as “inebriated” and “somewhat belligerent.”

Once outside, the 40-year-old allegedly started punching the employee who had escorted him from the bar. LaBeouf eventually left the area, but he later returned.

Multiple people were required to restrain him after his return. When the restraint ended, LaBeouf allegedly struck the same employee in the chest and punched another person in the nose.

Investigators said LaBeouf was restrained again while those at the scene waited for police. Officers arrived close to 1 a.m.

Footage of the altercation showed LaBeouf using gay slurs before striking one of the men with his head. Another video showed the actor being placed into an ambulance.

LaBeouf was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not specified. After he was released from the hospital, he was arrested and booked at Orleans Parish Prison around 4:15 a.m.

The “Holes” star later appeared in court on Feb. 26. He was released on $100,000 bond.

Following his release, LaBeouf discussed the incident during an interview with Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5.

He made several homophobic comments during the conversation, but acknowledged that he was “wrong for touching anyone.”

The actor has struggled with alcoholism and anger issues in the past. In March, a source close to LaBeouf told Page Six that his continued drinking could lead to a “tragic ending.”

“This guy has got to find a way to get sober or die; eventually this is all going to be a tragic ending,” the insider insisted. The warning followed the February arrest and LaBeouf’s account of what occurred.

The source also expressed sadness over the risks LaBeouf continued to face. “It’s just sad that someone with so much to live for continually puts himself at risk.”

The latest documents now provide an update on LaBeouf’s probation compliance and alcohol use.

While he has checked in with his supervisor and supplied proof concerning his required programs, he also reported that he continues to consume alcohol every day.

LaBeouf is expected to complete his anger management and substance abuse treatment by next month. His absence from the Sept. 23 hearing is attributed in the document to his work shooting a movie.
